The hotel is in desperate need of upgrades, which i believe they are in the process of doing, since the 1st floor looked newly renovated. The lobby and common areas are comfortable. I had mixed emotions about the staff, the front desk people are very accomodating, but the people that serve breakfast are rude, unhelpful and seem to hate their jobs. Room was clean and new. Happy with everything. Wifi price was little too much.

Everything met or exceeded our expectations! Room was roomier than expected, clean, and the staff was happy to deliver coffee to the room in the morning. The Hotel was very comfortable and modern, although the bed was a little hard, which was typical of Italy. I would agree with the 3 star status. The hotel staff was very knowledgable and helpful. Most spoke pretty good english and they were willing to help book tours for us on little notice. Lots of little restuarants close by, so food was not an issue […] and hotel seemed to be in a good location. Close to the Coluseum and the main piazza, but long walk to the Vatican. This is NOT a four star hotel, at least by American standards. There was carpeting half way up the wall and on the doors! And the carpeting on the floor in the room looked tired. The bathroom was on the small size and the shower head in the narrow bathtub was placed in the middle, making it difficult to turn around with the water running. The Hotel Location was great, We got beautiful rooms. we came with kids and they gave us sharing rooms. (they didn't have to do so). The hotel is very nice from outside and inside. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great location and room very nice; however, during 4 days there consistently ran into very arrogant, dismal service from hotel employees. On first night there after long drive, the hotel bar employee didn't want to provide a drink 20 minutes prior to stated closure time, many other examples, some worse than this. The walls in the room has been dirty, breakfast boring. They hide cheese and cold cut in separate room. Look for it. The service in the restaurant was great.

Price was great as was the location. It was very central to all historic landmarks. I got to many of them by foot. The only down side is that I was there in August when it was a very hot time. BTW, the room did not have a coffee maker or iron. You will quickly find that European hotels are not the size of american ones.

We booked this hotel different times on our 17 day honeymoon. It was very conviently located next to the metro and close to the Colleseum. The first time we stayed here, we were in a cramped room with a tiny tv with 2 channels and the air conditioning broke for 2 of the 3 days of our first stay. The front desk was not helpful at all and kept giving […] us different stories, "the whole hotel has no air conditioning"-we talked to another couple who had it-so they lied. Then they said it would be fixed in 15 minutes and when it wasn't they said it would be fixed later in the afternoon. We were having serious regrets about the fact that we would have to come back to this place-but on our return our room was completely outstanding. Nice Place but beware of sorroundings in cavour street

The hotel is located approx 200 meters from the Colosseum and metro is even closer, which was very convenient. There are a few restaurants and shops just outside of the hotel. We arrived around 11am and were informed that our room would not be ready until 2pm. They offered to secure our luggage until our room was ready. We returned to the hotel at […] approx 9pm and was able to get assistance with our luggage right away. We were immediately impressed with the room being spacious, bright, clean and decorated in a contemporary style, which was different to other European hotels we have stayed at. The beds and pillows were quite firm and took some time go get comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was decent and had a variety of items to choose from (i.e., eggs, bacon, freshly sliced meats, cereals, fruit, pastries, juice, coffee, tea and water). The staff was friendly and efficient at cleaning tables and replenishing the food. My niece and I enjoyed staying at the hotel. She especially liked the house slippers! I read many reviews before I chose the Palatino, so I'll add mine to the mix. This hotel is right in the middle of all the action in Rome. We discovered that at the end our street was the Roman forum and if you turn off a side street there was the Colosseum. The Metro station was right behind the Hotel as well. Very easy location to get around and to […] enjoy Rome. The staff was also very friendly and helped when ever they could. Also several really good restaurants on the same street as the hotel and right next to the Forum. Couldn't have asked for a better hotel in Rome. Only downer was having to pay for Internet, but it wasn't that expensive. Les mer

This was our first stay when arriving in Rome. It is a little far from the train station for a walk in the heat. It is however, a cheap taxi ride. The staff were very friendly. The included breakfast had a great selection and good coffee provided by the staff. This hotel is very close to Ancient Rome attractions, you can walk to all the places close to Collosseo, Very safe, close to metro, bus stop is right in front of the hotel, food is good in the hotel. Hotel staff was fantastic - very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. Hotel rooms were a little small but clean and comfortable. The air conditioning, however, did not work very well. The location is close to the coloseum which was great but this is about the only plus about this hotel. The rooms are old and dingy. The bathrooms are very dated, I had to sponge bath outside of the bath because I was too disgusted with the bath itself. Also it's on a main street and we heard lots of noise from the street. Guests in the room next to ours were up late partying every night. Very easy to hear everything. Calls to front desk didn't help.

Good location close to train station, but not too close. Comfortable room with view of city. Friendly and helpful staff.

well as a tourist it's a very good hotel as it is so near to the coliseum and arc of Constantine, the palatine hill and also the forum of Rome so all of these places are just a walking distance. The room was so poor and so old also the bathroom but it was really clean. The breakfast was so not so bad just very little varieties ( scrambled egg, only […] 2 types of juice, 2 types of pastries, ham and cheese cold cuts). also there is good restaurants just around the hotel which were good. Fiquei muito satisfeito com a qualidade geral do hotel e sua localização. No meu caso fui agraciado com um up-grade de categoria, tendo permanecido em uma suíte júnior e pago por um quarto standard. Assim, meu custo benefício pode ter sido maior que o habitual.

Hotellet låg nära till det mesta, men ville man till restaurangområdet med många restauranger så var det en liten bit att gå. Vill man har cappucino eller espresso till frukosten kan man be om det så är det inga problem, annars fick man vanligt kaffe. Som också var väldigt gott iofs. I receptionen kunde man varit trevligare, vi frågade kring vatikanen […] och han tittade lite konstigt på mig och svarade snorkigt. Stötte på en och annan otrevlig receptionist, så där kan de bättra sig tycker jag. Fattar inte att internet inte är gratis, men jag tror de kanske inte kommit så långt med den biten överlag i Italien som man är van vid hemma i Sverige. 5 Euro för en timme tycker jag är dyrt också. Men trots det negativa tycker jag att det absolut kan rekommenderas. Men vill man bo mitt i smeten kan man nog hitta hotell med ännu bättre läge, i alla fall om man är lite lat som jag är. Les mer

Ett mycket bra hotell med trevlig personal bra service framförallt läget med metro intill samt gångavstånd till många sevärdheter. Helt kanon!

Hôtel très bien située, proche de la gare et des sites touristiques. Personnel très sympathique. Excellent petit déjeuné. Une adresse a conseiler.

호텔이 **** 이지는 않지만, 가격대비 유럽 특히 로마의 호텔에 비하여 객실이 넓고, 청결함. 주로 외국의 단체 관광객들이 많았음. 약 5-10분정도 걸어가면, 콜롯세움, foro romano, palatino가 있어 주요 관광에 최적임. 기차역이 걸어서 10분 , 지하철 1정거장이어서 근교로 기차 여행하기 수월함. 호텔 근처의 치안 양호하며, 기차역 가는길에 한국 식품점, 여행사, 중식당, 스시집이 있어 식사 문제도 매우 좋음. 강추 합니다 !!! 로마에서 렌트카는 하지 마세요.

Trevlig personal och ett bra hotell nära Collosseum och andra sevärdheter. Rummen var helt okej, kanske inte 4-stjärnigt i mina ögon, mer åt en 3:a i svenska mått men helt klart bra skick och väldigt bra städning. Frukosten som ingår kanske inte erbjuder ett stort utbud men det som erbjuds är vällagat och det finns ett tillräckligt utbud för att man […] ska bli mätt och belåten på morgonen. Wifi på hotellet var ganska dyrt dock (5 EUR för en halvtimme och 25 EUR för 24h) och det fanns inte heller några gratisdatorer att låna i lobby eller liknande, vilket är ett litet minus. Annars är hotellet prisvärt och har ett bra läge, kan rekommenderas till andra resenärer. Les mer

Et godt hotel med en god placering. Værelserne er rummelige, der bliver gjort rent hver dag og skiftet sengetøj samt håndklæder. Der er et stort udvalg til morgenmad (morgenmadbuffet) og generelt en god service. Metroen er tæt på - så der er ingen grund til at tage taxa. Et sted, som jeg kunne finde på at vende tilbage til.

Bra läge, ca 500 meter från Colosseum. Rent och fräscht. Frukosten var ingen höjdare. Fick betala 12 EUR i citytax när vi checkade ut, inget man fick veta vid bokningen!

Ekstremt megen støj og udstødning fra gaden og dårlig vedligeholdelse af værelset samt en ubehagelig overraskelse i form af en regning på 45 euro ved afrejsen (de sagde, at det var en ny by-skat på 3 euro pr. person pr. døgn) kom til at præge besøget. Jeg kan anbefale, at man kun booker et eller to døgn og bruger de første dage på at finde et alternativ […] et andet sted i byen. Hotellet var faktisk i orden, men levede efter vores mening, ikke op til 4 stjerner. Vi fik et værelse uden vinduer. -Der var godt nok to aflange vinduer oppe under loftet, som kunne åbnes en smule, men man havde stadig INGEN fornemmelse af om det var nat eller dag, da der yderligere stod blomsterkasser foran vinduerne. Det havde været rart at vide […] på forhånd, inden man bookede et værelse der. Desuden var sengens madrasser MEGET hårde. -Italien laver jo som bekendt verdens bedste kaffe, så vi fik mildest talt et chock da vi smagte en virkelig dårlig termokande-kaffe, der var sat frem til morgenmads buffeten. Vi opdagege dog den sidste morgen vi var der, at andre gæster bad om en cappucino, -så det benyttede vi os også af. Iøvrigt elsker vi italiensk ost, og blev rimelig skuffet da den eneste type ost der var ved morgen buffeten, var små tern af en slags Emmenthaler. Ellers en stor og i orden morgen buffet. En anden lille detalje var, at et glas øl i baren blev serveret i lune glas, lige fra opvaskemaskinen. -De måtte godt have været iskolde. Det var ikke ting som ødelagde vores ferie, men detajler som man nok burde tage op til overvejelse hvis hotellet skal fremstå mere eller mindre luksuriøst. Som sagt et pænt hotel, -men næsten FOR pænt da man følte sig temmelig anonym og havde fornemmelsen af at gæsterne bare skulle "tjekkes ind og tjekkes ud" og serviceres ind imellem, med en nærmest kunstig og indstuderet venlighed. Rengøringen var dog helt i top og sagde som de eneste godmorgen, når man mødte dem på gangen. Iøvrigt også ærgerligt at den store skønne terrasse ud for 2. etage ikke måtte bruges. Très bien situé, entre la gare Termini et le colisée hotel agréable, personnel parlant le Français, petits déjeuners corrects, chambre 3 lits très propre et bonne isolation sur l'extérieur. salle de bains trop petite pour 3 adultes, mais grand miroir dans la chambre Très bon séjour.

The Grand Hotel Palatino has a helpful staff and is an overall nice hotel. We were lucky enough to get a no cost upgrade to a suite which we of course had no objections to. Location is excellent in central Rome with Colloseum a short distance away. Highly recommend.
