Hotellet ligger sentralt plassert i hovedgate mellom Termini og Colosseum. Vi var positivt overrasket over at vi ikke hørte støy fra trafikken om natten. Hyggelig og serviceinnstilt betjening. Flott frokost inkludert i prisen. Metro noen minutters gange fra hotellet.

Flott hotell nær coloseum og i passe gangavstand fra togterminalen slik at man ikke behøver å dra kofferten for langt når man går av flytoget. Nydelig frokost på hotellet og hyggelig betjening. Kan anbefales.

Hadde bestillt en natt på dette hotellet før hjemreise fra roma, fikk super service fra ansatte da en av oss ble syk og måtte ha legehjelp. Hotellet har ypperlig beliggenhet med gangavstand til det meste av severdigheter i Roma, og anbefales. Ok frokost.

Stayed four nights at the hotel, really satisfied with the overall service of the hotel. People at the receptions are really friendly and helpful. Location is really really good, just around mins walk to Colosseum. You can even see the colosseum if you walk at the corner of the street. Also just 3 mins walk to Cavour Metro. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, and the included breakfast buffet (with made to order cappuccino) was a great start to a day of touring. The hotel is one block from the Cavour metro station and three blocks from the Colosseum metro station. We had a 10 minutes walk to the Colosseum and the Forum ruins from is hotel. There was an ATM right down the block as well as several pizza-type quick restaurants close by. If you come to Rome by train, this hotel is also very close to the main train station. They have a very nice breakfast buffet as well. The room we were given in this hotel was ok. There were three of us, and there was plenty room for all of us plus luggage. Although none of need the facilities, it was a disabled room, and very well equipped for that purpose. I think it was one of the classic rooms which means pre-refurbishment, and was bit 'tired'. The hotel is being refurbished at […] the moment and the noise in our room was horrific. It started very early in the morning and went on till quite late into the evening. We tried to ignore it but it seemed as if they were drilling into the walls, and as it turned out, they were working directly above us. I understand there will be noise with a refurbishment project but it shouldn't encroach into sleeping time. The hotel staff were very polite, but only made an effort to help when we complained about the noise for a second time. They showed us a different room but it was just as noisy, so we just stayed where we were. The hotel will be lovely when its finished, but for now, there is no way to relax in the room because of the noise. Les mer

We were a party of 6 found location of hotel was very central and within walking distance of many attractions Reception helpfull and friendly also recommending suitable restaurants. Would certainly stay at the Palatino should we return to Rome.

The hotel rooms are being refurbrished something that is needed as our room was quite shabby but no complaints as it was clean.

Great location. Very near to Coliseum. Adjacent Metro station. Staff very helpful and speaks english fluently. Breakfast buffet was good. The room was capacious and well organized. Highly recommended for tourists and families.

We stayed in 4 different hotels in Rome. The Grand Hotel Palantino was by far the best. Extremely nice and helpful staff, great location and air conditioning that worked!! And within walking distance of the Termini train station. There was a mini bar in the room, which we used to chill our own beverages. This hotel was much more like an American hotel […] than a European hotel, the room was more spacious and nicely decorated. Not worn looking. If I go back to Rome, I will stay here. We (family of 3, staying a week) were very satisfied with the hotel. Even though the internet cost, we were very pleased -- you paid for the time used (you buy a block of 1 or 3 or 6 or 12 hours, and log on as needed). The location is a dream, and the room very comfortable, with good air conditioning. There's a city tax that needs to be paid on top […] of the room cost (a few euro/person, collected at the end of the stay). good hearty breakfasts included -- eggs, meat, cheese, cereal. In addition to Touristy restaurants, there are also some real gems, such as Ristorante Non c'e trippa pe' gatti (via Urbanas 114). Would definitely stay there again. Les mer

Being my first time in Rome, and not knowing what to expect from a hotel picked up randomly on the internet, I was pleasantly surprised with the great customer service, comfort, great location, and friendly hotel staff. If you want to be at walking distance from Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and other main attractions, the Palatino is a sure bet.

Great location and friendly service. Very convenient to the Colliseum. The only issue was trying to reserve a transfer from the airport to the hotel. We did this through e-mail several days in advance and it was neither acknowledged nor waiting for us. Were able to get another independent transfer at the airport. Great location - just a couple of blocks from the Colosseum and an easy walk to Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. Room was updated with "wood-like" vinyl floors so no dirty carpet issues. They use all white linens including the duvet cover so everything gets washed every time - no scary coverlets. Breakfast is included and was well done in two dining […] rooms. The lobby is a little dated, but the rooms have been updated. Only two issues worth mentioning: We reserved a triple and that consisted of three twin beds. Two were pushed together like a double bed, but the mattresses were not connected and constantly rolled away from each other. They even moved during the night because the wheels were on a hard floor. The other issues was the A/C. It could not get the room very cool despite having it checked. Other than that, the room was well appointed, clean and due to a roll down shutter on the window, there was very little if any road noise and the room stayed dark and quiet in the mornings. Front desk personnel all spoke English very well and were helpful. They arranged for a private car/limo for our run to the airport for only a few dollars more than a cab would have cost according to our guide book and it was ready and waiting for us as expected early the next morning. There are also some great restaurant options in the area behind the hotel. We dined with lots of local patrons which is always a good sign. Les mer

The hotel was very nice - good buffet breakfast, the triple room was more than adequate for my husband, myself and our son. The staff was friendly, and the location was fantastic - walking distance of forum, colloseum, and many other sites.

It was a very pleasant stay... no complaints at all... totally worthy.

Very nice and convenient Hotel. Just around the corner from the Colosseum, a 15 all the sights in Roma.minute walk from the train station. The staff was a little stuffy and not real friendly and the bar/restaurant over priced so we ate at other nice restaurants but overall a very nice hotel to stay at if you want to be able to walk around. Hotel was in a good location just a short walk for the colosseum. Unfortunately on arrival the air conditioning unit in the ceiling was dripping water and despite reporting it to the hotel it was not fixed until the day after. The hotel is rated as four star but I think three star would be more appropriate. Staff were helpful and spoke English.

If you're looking for quality service in Rome, you should keep looking. You won't find it here. Except for the cleaning staff, which is superb...nice ladies who treat you respectfully. The Front Desk staff....well, it's just a shame really, because there's so much potential for this hotel. I give this a hotel a rating of 1 on the www.hotels.com website […] only because there is no zero. The front desk staff has no clue what the word "hospitality" means. On a couple of occasions, they simply refused to get up and help me. One individual just sat there with his feet propped up on the counter and told me to come back in the morning. Also, don't believe what's on their website or in their brochures. When I asked for an adaptor, which their brochure says is readily available at the front desk, they told me to walk down the street for about 15 minutes to an electrical shop. Hmmmm, yeah, that's great service. The hotel is in a good location, very close to the Coloseum, but expect to pay about 40 Euro for the taxi ride from the Fiumicino Airport. Les mer

We HIGHLY recommend The Grand Hotel Palatino! We have stayed here twice in the last two years. Here's why.... - Location is very central and within walking distance to many attractions/tourist sites and one block to the metro if necessary. - Accommodations are clean and spacious. (Larger than average European size room.) - Staff is extremely professional, […] friendly, and helpful. Also, there is always someone who speaks English on duty at the front desk. The hotel has gone through renovations and we have stayed in both their non-renovated and renovated room. Both styles are comfortable and clean. If you are doing price comparison to other hotels in Rome, you may find their rate may be a bit higher than others. However, it’s worth the few extra Euros (trust us)! We have stayed at other hotels in Rome and The Grand Hotel Palatino receives our highest remarks and exceeds all expectations with customer service! We look forward to our next trip to Rome and plan on staying at Grand Hotel Palatino. Les mer

The hotel is in desperate need of upgrades, which i believe they are in the process of doing, since the 1st floor looked newly renovated. The lobby and common areas are comfortable. I had mixed emotions about the staff, the front desk people are very accomodating, but the people that serve breakfast are rude, unhelpful and seem to hate their jobs. Room was clean and new. Happy with everything. Wifi price was little too much.

Everything met or exceeded our expectations! Room was roomier than expected, clean, and the staff was happy to deliver coffee to the room in the morning. Breakfast was excellent, as was the bar at night and the piano player/entertainment/bartender. We had a great time and were very pleased. Hotel workers spoke enough English to meet our needs. The Hotel was very comfortable and modern, although the bed was a little hard, which was typical of Italy. I would agree with the 3 star status. The hotel staff was very knowledgable and helpful. Most spoke pretty good english and they were willing to help book tours for us on little notice. Lots of little restuarants close by, so food was not an issue […] and hotel seemed to be in a good location. Close to the Coluseum and the main piazza, but long walk to the Vatican. Breakfast was so, so but was able to get enough to fill up before a long day. Cold items only. Les mer

This is NOT a four star hotel, at least by American standards. There was carpeting half way up the wall and on the doors! And the carpeting on the floor in the room looked tired. The bathroom was on the small size and the shower head in the narrow bathtub was placed in the middle, making it difficult to turn around with the water running. The Hotel Location was great, We got beautiful rooms. we came with kids and they gave us sharing rooms. (they didn't have to do so). The hotel is very nice from outside and inside. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great location and room very nice; however, during 4 days there consistently ran into very arrogant, dismal service from hotel employees. On first night there after long drive, the hotel bar employee didn't want to provide a drink 20 minutes prior to stated closure time, many other examples, some worse than this. The walls in the room has been dirty, breakfast boring. They hide cheese and cold cut in separate room. Look for it. The service in the restaurant was great.

Price was great as was the location. It was very central to all historic landmarks. I got to many of them by foot. The only down side is that I was there in August when it was a very hot time. BTW, the room did not have a coffee maker or iron. You will quickly find that European hotels are not the size of american ones.

We booked this hotel different times on our 17 day honeymoon. It was very conviently located next to the metro and close to the Colleseum. The first time we stayed here, we were in a cramped room with a tiny tv with 2 channels and the air conditioning broke for 2 of the 3 days of our first stay. The front desk was not helpful at all and kept giving […] us different stories, "the whole hotel has no air conditioning"-we talked to another couple who had it-so they lied. Then they said it would be fixed in 15 minutes and when it wasn't they said it would be fixed later in the afternoon. We were having serious regrets about the fact that we would have to come back to this place-but on our return our room was completely outstanding. It was bigger, newer, with a flat screen and hundreds of channels, and nicer freebees. We thought we were staying in a completely different hotel. Les mer

Nice Place but beware of sorroundings in cavour street

The hotel is located approx 200 meters from the Colosseum and metro is even closer, which was very convenient. There are a few restaurants and shops just outside of the hotel. We arrived around 11am and were informed that our room would not be ready until 2pm. They offered to secure our luggage until our room was ready. We returned to the hotel at […] approx 9pm and was able to get assistance with our luggage right away. We were immediately impressed with the room being spacious, bright, clean and decorated in a contemporary style, which was different to other European hotels we have stayed at. The beds and pillows were quite firm and took some time go get comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was decent and had a variety of items to choose from (i.e., eggs, bacon, freshly sliced meats, cereals, fruit, pastries, juice, coffee, tea and water). The staff was friendly and efficient at cleaning tables and replenishing the food. My niece and I enjoyed staying at the hotel. She especially liked the house slippers! We both would stay here again and would recommend to others. Les mer

I read many reviews before I chose the Palatino, so I'll add mine to the mix. This hotel is right in the middle of all the action in Rome. We discovered that at the end our street was the Roman forum and if you turn off a side street there was the Colosseum. The Metro station was right behind the Hotel as well. Very easy location to get around and to […] enjoy Rome. The staff was also very friendly and helped when ever they could. Also several really good restaurants on the same street as the hotel and right next to the Forum. Couldn't have asked for a better hotel in Rome. Only downer was having to pay for Internet, but it wasn't that expensive. Les mer

This was our first stay when arriving in Rome. It is a little far from the train station for a walk in the heat. It is however, a cheap taxi ride. The staff were very friendly. The included breakfast had a great selection and good coffee provided by the staff. this hotel is within walking distance of the Coliseum and a metro stop from Termini station.My 2 teenagers were impressed with hotel and location.

This hotel is very close to Ancient Rome attractions, you can walk to all the places close to Collosseo, Very safe, close to metro, bus stop is right in front of the hotel, food is good in the hotel. The location is close to the coloseum which was great but this is about the only plus about this hotel. The rooms are old and dingy. The bathrooms are very dated, I had to sponge bath outside of the bath because I was too disgusted with the bath itself. Also it's on a main street and we heard lots of noise from the street. The breakfast consisted of […] old recycled pastries--this is not a joke, it is the truth. We ended up getting breakfast somewhere else. Save your money and go somewhere else. Les mer

Guests in the room next to ours were up late partying every night. Very easy to hear everything. Calls to front desk didn't help.
