"Very outdated !!!"
Stayed in Orchard Wing and got a 'luxury room' which looked as if the decoration was copy pasted from an Eastern European state owned hotel in the seventies . Got fooled by the 4,5 customers rating which it is totally unworthy ! Never will stay there again .

Their service is one of the best I have ever seen. They kindly open the business centre for me even though it is outside the hours. Very convenient as well as the hotel located in the middle of Orchard Rd, everything is a walking distance.
I changed hotel to Mandarin Orchard from Grand Hyatt after staying one night at Grand Hyatt. The room rates offered by Mandarin Orchard were very competitive and quantity of the room and service was of superior quality.

Hotel is in a good location. However at the price its not worth it. The room had poor lighting, the lobby no atmosphere some seats to meet friends would be a good idea, Staff were friendly and helpful but this hotel misses on being somewhere we would return, prices in the restaurant were expensive but if breakfast is included its good value. "Smelled Like Smoke"
This entire hotel smelled of cigarette smoke...as a non-smoker it was gross! The view out of my room was of a block wall...10ft away. I will not stay here again.

Everything was lovely and the amenities were of the most luxurious quality. However, I felt that the people who served me were not as warm as I would have liked... No smiles at all in the 5 nights I spent there :( That is, with the exemption of the gentleman doorman who offered me a chair since your first floor lobby has no seats.

Having arrived at the hotel at 8am, after flying from London, the staff bent over backwards to look after us, providing us with breakfast and an early check - in. The level of service throughout our stay was fabulous, the staff couldn't have been more attentive. Would definitely stay there again.

Many years ago I looked at the Mandarin Orchard and hoped to be able to stay there one day. From airport pick up to check out, my experience was terrific. Check in was quick and smooth despite there being many other people checking in. Staff were courteous and most helpful whenever approached. There is an expression: "you get what you pay for" - we […] got much more qua service. Very good in location, nice and large of room, many access to go and in, very suitable hotel for family and business as well. But swimming pool too small and nearby to lobby area. By the way, Mandarin Orchard is the best...see you again!

Location PERFECT for shopping and close to the MRT to get to other sights. We found all staff extremely polite and attentive - always very quick to offer assistance - no delays for check-in and check-out. No issues at all - would definitely stay there again.

"Great Stay"
Hotel location was fantastic, room size great but bed was very hard... No movies available in room not no big drama. Best place to buy coffee around hotel was Jones the Grocer which is in the hotel shopping centre. Would highly recommend this hotel.

"Right in the heart of shopping district"
Very convenient hotel. Close to Mt Elizabeth hospital, in the middle of Orchard Road shopping district and lots of eating places nearby. The hotel's Mandarin Court restaurant is also top notch. Highly recommended!!!

Hotel located in Orchard Rd. fabolous shopping area. Hotel rooms comfortable and clean. Bath tub and shower in the rooms located in the orchard wing. Rooms require minor maintenance work to be in amazing condition. Overall great experience with the complimentary upgrade we got.

this is my forth time in staying this hotel...previously was fantastic and had a very good feeling...location of this hotel is the prime, cleanliness of this hotel also excellent... somehow during the latest time (from 30 April 2011 till 2 May 2011) i have had a very bad experience during my check in time.... i have made the booking on 3 April 2011 […] through Hotels.com...and i have made the payment and filled up all the 'questions',,, for example, required twin-bed room and non-smoking floor etc... when i reached the hotel, about 1.45 pm...there is long 'q'.. luckily that was only take about 20 minutes to my turn... okay, when i passed the receptionist my booking number, she said that currently the room is not available until 3 or 3.30,,and keeping asking me whether i need smoking or non-smoking room, a king-sized bed,,,,,etc... i thought i have informed very earlier during my booking.... then, it is okay..i still need two twin-bed room and non-smoking...she said she will help to get me a 'better'...so i went for lunch and go out took a walk...and went back to the hotel...with my 'room-waiting' for 'clearance' key pocket...somehow another receptionist said that the room still not ready yet because the somebody just 'check-in'.....???!!! oh my god...it was somebody just checked out...what the poor english...somemore her name carry the best team of English Premier Football team.... and then she asked me again about the room, whether smoking or king-sized bed,,,,,,this time I really got tempered to shout out...okay...i didn't shout at her...and i asked back when the room can be ready...she said may be take another half and hour....okay...okay... i went for window shopping again,,,actually i rather want to take a shower...you know what,,, when i went back to check-in....luckily, this time a guy more Pro to 'entertain' me...although i still need to wait for about 15 minutes..... finally...the room still not bad.... but the air-cond hot working so well, and the 'socket' Les mer

This is our second time to stay at the hotel. I can tell you we're very very happy with the hotel. Great Quality - we requested to stay at the Main Tower ( the older section of the hotel ) because the room was bigger in size (the lady at the check-in counter told us this). First we were worried that the room would be run down and all but proven to be […] wrong, it looked like a modern hotel room. So no worries about the aesthetics. Great Location - Orchard road is just a step from the hotel's lift. MRT is just a block away. Tourist Bus Stops are just across the street. Surrounded by shopping malls, finding good value food is not an issue at all. Great Service - we were late for our flight home. when we were about to check-out, there's a line for the check-out (only 1 person doing check-out). spoke to one of the lady on the concierge desk and we were only asked if we took anything from the mini bar. because we took none, we could be on our way straight away. Great VALUE - We compared the price we paid with other QUALITY, MODERN hotels in the ORCHARD area and ours was still the cheapest. even though it's been around for awhile, the hotel has recently been renovated with shops on first level and rooms upgraded. my one night stay was comfortable with excellent service and of course, satisfied with the famous mandarin chicken rice from chatters box restaurant.

From the first moment to the last, this was a great hotel experience. A highly efficient and courteous welcome, a free upgrade, a great room and superb food and wine in the bar. Not knowing Singapore at all before I came, I understand now that Orchard Road is absolute retail heaven or hell, depending on your point of view - I tend more towards the latter […] view, and for this reason and this reason ONLY I would probably choose in future to stay in a hotel in a more relaxed area, further down in the CBD or further afield. Faulty pipes produced brown sewage water in washbasin. My wife nearly threw up unsuspectingly used a bit to brush teeth. no free wifi anywhere in the hotel. must go to shopping mall next to hotel to get it FREE. service at hotel restaurant cold and haughty. food at the "famous" chatterbox is to be avoided. Much better outside and cheaper. what sells […] this hotel is the excellent location. However, there are many in similarly excellent locations. I would not stay there again. There actually was a problem with our booking which was a miscommunication at some point between this site and the hotel. The hotel handled it magnificently and everything was fine. I will be going back to the Mandarin Orchard!

The staff was very helpful. I was upgraded to a suite which was lovely. The location is right in the middle of shopping and the concierge suggested a wonderful tailor for some custom made suits. I am going back in 2 weeks and will stay at this hotel again then

A gorgeous hotel which we were very happy with. Location couldn't have been better for two 20 something females in Singapore to shop, eat and get pampered. They let us check in early as our flight arrived at 5:50am. Highly recommended.

Great service! when I first checked in, the room was a bit noisy. Called the front desk and request for room change. Had room changed within 30 mins. Fantastic service, very friendly.
