Thought this was a great hotel. Got a really good price on here (109) so I decided to try it. The vicinity of the Michigan Ave area was great and also the cause of my only negative thoughts on my stay. Parking. It sucks in this area and to park in a garage I payed 41 bucks for 12-24 hrs of parking. I understand it's the nature of the best given the […] area but It still is tough to swallow. Other than that I had great service and really nice clean and updated room and even a great view. For the price and quality...cannot be beat. Even at a higher cost still would be a great experience. The stay was great! But the service was awesome! The front desk lady was superb in every area of customer service! If the hotel was bad the service would more than make up for it and I would return just because it. Thank you front desk lady!

I enjoyed my recent stay in your hotel. The newly renovated room was fabulous and exceeded my expectations. The bed was comfortable, lighting was great in all areas. You placed outlets appropriately for plugging in the electronics. I didn't hear anything except the occasional ambulance heading for the nearby hospital. One suggestion is related to pillows; […] it would be nice to have a combination of soft and firm pillows. I used 5 that night and still felt like I was sleeping on a flat surface. The bed was fine it was the pillows I was fighting with throughout the night. Keep up the good work and thanks for a peaceful stay in Chicago. Les mer

The hotel was under construction, but was very nice, room was clean and was pleased in these respects. HOWEVER, within our 3 night stay, we had two incidents with neighbors. One, partied all night, we complained twice, then opened his door (conjoined rooms) and scratched on our door until I had enough...I opened the door and found a naked HS boy laying […] against our door, stoned out of his mind. Then two nights later we suffered through a french guy screaming into his phone for two hours. This combined with constant sirens going to the hospital that is next door, made sleep quite difficult. Guests deserve to know that the hotel is under major renovations. They had no business center, no restaurants and your description of the fitness center is no longer correct.

The hotel is undergoing a huge renovation. Hot water took 15 minutes to get to our room. When I called the front desk about the lack of hot water the person on the phone was very flip and said "duh of course you have to let the water run for 15 minutes." Construction was still in progress but not reported. Could not access the pool or fitness room during the day and the restaurant was closed because of construction.

Everyone at the hotel was so friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and the bed was cmfortable. Everything we needed was in walking distance.

Location was amazing! Close to everything and it made the whole trip very convenient. However, the hotel was going through renovations, and it was very noisy in the mornings we wanted to sleep late. And the room we stayed was very old and outdated.

I loved the location and the front desk staff. My problems occurred with the room. The bedside phone did not work, But worse than that my bathroom plumbing was all a mess. When you flushed the toilet, raw sewage came up and did not go down. Took them till the next day to address and fix it. The bathtub had no hot water. Took them 2 days to even address […] or fix that problem. I was there for 4 day and had to take cold showers for 3 of those. I HATE COLD SHOWERS!!! My last day I was visited by the hotel manager and I thought she was coming to see me about my problems with my room. No, she was coming to tell me that since the hotel was under construction, the water would be turned off the next morning, so I wouldn't be able to shower before I checked out and went to the airport. I complained and she had the hot water fixed. She said that it was the first she had heard of it. When I checked out she acted like because I wasn't a rewards customer that there really wasn't anything she could do for me. She took my info and said she would get back to me. It's been a week and I haven't heard a thing. Don't think I will. Would not stay here again..... Les mer

This hotel was in a good location for us to walk around and explore. We felt safe. The staff was very helpful especially since we were there during the renovation. The pool was smaller than we thought it would be based on pictures we saw on the web but the boys had fun anyway. The curtains had some cobwebs in them. The bathroom was clean. I was surprised […] how dark and quiet our room was at night considering how close we were to a hospital and that there was construction going on in the hotel. We had a decent stay at the hotel. Would have been nice to know that the hotel was u der construction before booking on hotels.com. The day we were leaving, they had to turn the water off starting at 9:00 am. This was not ideal considering we were traveling with two 5 year olds. We had to shower and pack up before leaving town and couldn't let the kids […] even use the bathroom. Before we left. We had to take everyone down to the conference floor. Check in is suppose to be 3. We had to wait until 6 to check in. Hot tub was luke warm. Conceirge was very helpful and nice. Valet parking was very good until I wanted my car to leave. They deleted from the system and I had to wait 45 minutes to leave. overall a nice place but was very Frustrating!

When I first arrived in Chicago I tried to check in. To be expected, my room was not available. I came back at check in my room was not available and I excepted a different rm of 1 king bed with roll away instead if two queen beds. Also at check in I learned that the hotel was under construction and the pool and fitness center hrs were very limited […] and not convenant and the hours of being open did not work for my family. The main reason we stayed at that hotel was for the pool for my children. Location of hotel was great. I might consider staying there again. But the fact that hotels.com didn't state that this hotel was under construction,leads me not to use your service again. Les mer

We had a little "staycation" at the Hyatt. Overall, good experience. The hotel room interiors need to be renovated, nothing major, just minor things such as old tube TVs and unnecessarily large bathrooms that don't seem quite right in the space. Also, had weird charges show up on my bill and staff seemed not able to figure out why i was being charged. […] Lastly, spent quite some time on the phone inquiring about these charges because the hotel operator was non-existent. I think Hyatt needs to hire more help, especially with a prime-location hotel such as this one. Les mer

The staff at the Hyatt was absolutely outstanding. They were friendly, helpful, and accomodating. Since the hotel is under renovation, we weren't able to see much of the beautiful lobby or use the restaurant, but that didn't detract from our visit. The only drawbacks we found were related to the pool: because of construction, the pool was only open […] in the evening but the website simply said it was open. This really changed the plan for our days. Secondly, the pool is very, very small and crowded with people, but there were not nearly enough chairs for parents to use to supervise their children. The quality of service was excellent, as usual for a Hyatt stay. However, I was extremely disappointed that there was no notification of remodeling! We went on spring break hoping to enjoy the pool and workout facility. It was only open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. That's ok, but...... everyone else was there at the same time. When staying in Chicago, add $54 a night to your hotel stay for parking. The pool and hot tub in this hotel is very small and very crowded. The concierge service was top notch - ask for Drew.

Still a great location, and the rooms are very nice. As of 3/28/13 the hotel is under major renovation, lobby and restaurants are closed. A great hotel with some current minor inconveniences.

We loved our stay! It was very clean & service was great. We stayed here because it was cheap, great location & has a hot tub. The rooms were good, only thing is that it could use a new tv which I'm sure will happen during the imminent renovations. The bed felt new; it was very comfy. The bathroom was huge and nice. Perfect location except the hospital is across the street so we heard sirens but only once on a busy Saturday night. & once while we napped during the day. Me and my girlfriend took her 5 and 7 year old daughters downtown for a little spring break get away. We all loved the room and the girls especially liked the pool and hot tub. Room service breakfast was delicious. Was a little chilly but close enough to walk the mag mile and to river north. I would definitely recommend this hotel and use it again.

We were initially greeted by hotel valet who were very pleasant and helpful. The front desk was busy but friendly and quick. Due to current renovations, the elevators were located in the lobby of the building connected to our hotel. We stayed in an older room but it was cozy and clean. The hotel was located within short walking distances to all of the […] places we wanted to visit , which made the trip much more enjoyable since we never needed to use the car. The only thing that I disliked about the location is that it is near a hospital so sirens were heard often, but thankfully they never disrupted our sleep. Great price, will definitely visit again! The hotel was in a great location. Amanda at the front desk was exceptional. My only critique was parking was $50 a day and the valets were slow and uninformed about the area.

We were only booked for one night so we were only in the room from 11:00 pm to 11:00 am the next morning. Bed was extremely comfortable. Two bottles of our favorite water, Nestle Pure Life was on the counter for us. Bathroom very large and nice marble counter space. Carpet looked and felt brand new. This hotel is currently being renovated. The rooms and hotel do not come close to living up to its Hyatt brand. Very dilapidated, unclean and out of date. The hotel restaurant is closed and main hotel elevators have been moved to a different side of the building (outside of the hotel lobby). I would not recommend this hotel!

The hotel is being renovated. I stayed on the weekend so there was no noise but the rooms are old and tired. The restaurants were also closed. I think the hotel site should mention the renovation.

This was a nice enough hotel. They were going through some sort of construction, so guests entered through an office building rather than hotel lobby. Lots of food and restaurants around. Also right next to a hospital, which wasn't too bad but I did here sirens every now and again. I would stay here again if needed a hotel in the area.

Good stay! the airline lost my luggage with my insuline your staff advised me to go to the emergency clinic across the street; in the end I did get an insuline shot after tests and even a drip I.V. cost: $2361.oo plus materials usedFortunately my trip insurance is going to pay for it

The hotel room and the location was great, but the staff is what made our stay incredible. The concierges made us feel like we were regulars, and went way out of their way to help us get tickets, cabs, and recommended amazing restaurants plus entertainment. We will stay at the Hyatt every time we travel to Chicago.

It was a nice, clean room. You cant beat the location. There were some sirens at night because the hospital is across the street, however, it is the city and noise is inevitable anywhere.

Hotel was undergoing renovation, no working icemaker on floor went to another floor it was not working either. They brought small refigerator to room, it had a number of obvious dents on it. Some of the elevators were reserved for renovation but not labled as such. No instruction for T V operation in room had to figure it out by myself. Was NOT informed […] icemakers not operational and NOT informed of construction when making reservation. Batroom looked cheap, especially tub/shower. More like a Days Inn, NOT Hyatt. Will NOT go to THAT Hyatt again. NOT normal for hotels in that neighborhood, or the Hyatt chain. Les mer
