Flott opphold på fint hotell midt i Chicago. God service ved innsjekking, og vi fikk rom selv om vi var noe tidlig ute. Hyggelig personale, og komfortabelt rom.

Fantastisk bra hotel som ligger veldig bra til. Men du må bo ikke lavere enn i 8 etasje. Da kan du bli litt størd av tunnelbanen. Den går rett utenfor 3 etasje. Ellers store rom med deilig bad. Bra service og flinke folk som jobber der. Hit kommer jeg gjerne tilbake til.

Queen room on 6th floor very small and noisy due to El, outside window stuck open. Staff at front desk very accomodating when I requested a room on a higher level. Upgraded to a King suite with no additional charge. Complete renovations beginning on top floors. Miller's Pub and Pittsfield Cafe great affordable nearby restaurants, can't beat this location […] in the loop! Les mer

The location of this Hotel is great. Within walking distance of most attractions. The room was a little small but very comfortable and clean.

This is an extremely good location. Right on the L loop. Staff very helpful, happy to transfer us to a suite with 2 double beds when we decided that was preferable to the room we originally requested. Very good sized bathroom. Free wifi and access to computer with printing facilities at no charge was also a plus.

Great location, very central. Clean, pleasant hotel.No complaints. Good customer service.Lobby could do with a bar. But that is a small point.

I was very happy with the Silversmith. The location was perfect. The Art Institute, the theatre district, downtown, the State Street stores, and the path along the Lake Michigan shore were all within walking distance. The hotel room was comfortable and remarkably quiet. A coffee machine and a fridge were in the room.

Nice location, very friendly staff. Room was fine, bath large and clean. New tv, no on demand if movies are your thing. Enjoyed stay and would return.

The Silversmith is located in the middle of loop, close to the theater district, shopping, restaurants with easy access to area interests. We always make this hotel our first choice when staying in Chicago.

Had several maintenance issues, heating, air conditioning not working properly, in room safe had to be reset, not enough hot water, elevator and room card not working properly on one day. When checking out, charge for postage was added to bill, no postage was sent out by us. With all the great hotels in Chicago we would choose to stay at the Silversmith […] again Les mer

Hotel was a nice surprise. behind train tracks but sound wasn't an issue. executive king room was perfect and they have nice cribs. parking is very pricey though.

From being greeted upon arrival to the farewell on departure- Outstanding! First, the staff and service was excellent. Very friendly, helpful, informative and honest. I have to give housekeeping a pass for knocking on my door at 9:30AM when check out was at 12:00. The room was LARGE, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The "L" did run right outside […] our window, but that did not bother us at all- we slept like babies. Location couldn't have been better. Great food, shopping, popular attractions and entertainment was very close by. I would like to see the computer and internet upgraded. The location was very good. Though not very loud in our room we could hear a slight sound of the CTA trains going by. The staff were very friendly and helpful when needed. We were in Chicago when a large convention was on so most hotels were filled up and our rates were slightly higher than normal. The restaurant below the hotel was average in quality […] and price. Great restarant recommendations from the staff. Great location, near shopping. The carpet in our room could have used a good shampoo, but the rest of the room was spotless.

IT was fine for an older hotel recently renovated. Room was small and awkwardly shaped. Very close to the "el" and a bit noisey as a result but the price was good for Chicago.

I enjoyed the stay, the room was HUGE compared the the last hotel I stayed at in Chicago and not that much more in price. I got in late on my first night and they were over booked, but they took care of everything including cab fare to get me to the other hotel they had set me up at. That hotel was not a nice.

We had a wonderful time. The front reception staff, the valet service, and location were all perfect. Very helpful staff at every level. Aida's restaurent and thee14K lounge were disappointing. The pastrami sandwiches were terrible. The bar didn't have the most popular beer in stock and the poor staff, who were themselves wonderful. seemed frustrated […] by whoever is managing the place...... Les mer

Could not have asked for a better location - - very short walk to Michigan Ave., the Art Institute, the "Bean". The L was outside the front door,. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Would definitely stay there again.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Silversmith. Wasn't cheap for on a budget travellers like us, but we were very happy. Great location easy access to public transport, food and shops close to everything!

The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The room was located on the back of the building and there was no road or elevated noise. The water pressure in the shower dropped as the water got hotter, but it was more than adequate. We will definitely look to stay here again when we travel to Chicago.

The Silversmith suited us very well; it is very well located for museums, architectural tours, restaurants, public transportation, shopping, etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel was extremely clean, was able to check in early, and was in the center of downtown Chicago. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay for our weekend trip. Will definitely stay here again.

Overall, this is a nice hotel with excellent service. The location is convenient for many sites in Chicago. However, it was quite noisy. The housekeeping staff spoke loudly in the hallways for long periods of time, there were walkie talkies squawking loudly in the halls, and there was a banging coming from upstairs for a three-hour period in the afternoon […] while my son was trying to nap. Went to Chicago to see a play and to visit the Art Institute. The Silversmith was a really close walk from the theater. We were greeted at our cab by one of the really friendly doormen who brought us to our room after we checked in. Nice ambience in the lobby area. The room was fairly comfortable but we had a little difficulty getting the temperature […] right. We had a nice comfortable bed. Our room overlooked the EL but we didn't hear it at all. Breakfast was OK if a bit slow, but reasonably priced for downtown Chicago. The room itself was very reasonable too. Les mer

Great stay once you finally locate hotel, the sign is super small we circled block several times...back to the good the room had a king size bed very comfy a door to close off from living area with pullout sofa. Close to all shopping areas parking is a bit steep but other than that I would stay here again

I wish the cleaning staff had moved the footstool and chair during vacuuming as they would have picked up some of the debris I found from the previous visitor. Also, some of the lightbulbs were burned out. One other thing - it's nice to have limited cable TV, but how about a TV guide so guests can know what channels are available? The bed and bathroom […] were both spotless and clean, and the attached restaurant has the best Chicken soup in the world. Very close to both parking and the CTA trains. Les mer

Silversmith Hotel is in a great location - literally a few steps from the Wabash "L" station and a short walk from Michigan Ave. and State St. I took public transportation or walked to everything. The room was very large and clean. Be sure to request a room that is on a high floor on the interior side of the hotel to be as far away as possible from […] the "L" tracks and noise. Ada's Deli, which is adjacent to the hotel, serves a completely uninspired breakfast. But there are bakeries and restaurants within a short walk of the hotel. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely consider the Silversmith for future trips. Les mer
