Norsk familie på fire som bodde her i julen. Genial beliggenhet ved restauranter og butikker rett utenfor døren. Vi fikk ett stort og fint hjørnerom med mye lys. To store dobbel senger. Nyoppusset.

Like most of the area old property and over priced. Lots of street noise. Hotel employees were very nice. No reason to ever stay here again.

Our stay at the Holiday Inn Express met all of our expectations. The room was modern, clean and comfortable. Staff was warm and informative. The location is excellent as we were able to walk to and from all the attrractions Downtown, including the Urban Wine Trail! All wineries/tasting rooms were easily reached via walking. We will stay here again.

excellent location. parking a bit crappy but it was so close to the best spots that it didn't matter much. rooms were clean and nice. highly recommend. great spot.

We were surprised when we checked in as we were expecting something different from a Holiday Inn Express but the hotel is decorate well, the room was comfortable and clean and the location is amazing!

The hotel is a converted old motel. the lobby is old and tacky. the bed was sooo uncomfortable my wife and i could barely sleep. The room was small and the bathroom fixtures were dated and old. There was someone's old used boxers left in our bedroom closet!! The location is great next to State Street but overall the hotel SUCKED!

This hotel is centrally located with a lot of great bars, restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The parking is convenient and the breakfast in the morning is a good way to start the day. The hotel has two buildings. We had a room right next to the laundry room overlooking the street on the first floor of the adjacent building which was kind […] of a bummer. You could hear the thump of the washing machine and dryer with the cars driving by which put a damper on things. I'd recommend this hotel but make sure you have a nice room in a good location in the hotel. Les mer

This was the worst accommodation that we stayed in during a month long visit to USA and Canada also the most expensive, including a couple of 5 star hotels. Rooms desperate for refurbishment, plaster and paint peeling from the wall in one place, bathroom fan was very noisy which came on with the light switch. This was disabled not fixed, not a pleasant […] solution. Glasses were not replenished on a daily basis also coffee jug missing and never replaced. Best of all we found moldy bagels at breakfast. I lived in Santa Barbara for almost 30 years and was more than pleasantly surprised at this little gem right down town. My husband and I needed a place to stay for our son's wedding in Santa Barbara. I had reccommended it to a friend not long ago who wanted an affordable hotel within walking distance to downtown. I remembered passing it often and thought […] it looked nice. She told me that she enjoyed her stay there and would reccommed it to others. I was amazed at that price that there was a valet to park your car if you couldn't locate a parking space in the 2 lots provided - parking fee for not 1, but 2 cars was inexpensive. The room was clean, spacious, nicely appointed and supplied all one would need - from toiletries fo refridgerator. I have stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels around the world (as a travel agent and traveling for pleasure) and this hotel, though not in that league has nothing to be ashamed of. I would not only reccommend it to others, I most certainly would stay there again. From the front desk to house keeping and the valet everyone was very friendly and courteous. High marks all around. In general this is better than a typical Holiday Inn Express. That said, it's extremely expensive for a typical HI. I'm not blaming this on the hotel, they are pricing in their market. That's Santa Barbara-- a town full of mediocre hotels that are seriously over priced. If you like low quality, mundane, Spanish traditional decor for the price of a NYC […] chic boutique hotel than SB is your town. Rooms appear to be somewhat recently renovated, OK size but, not generous. Staff was very nice. Location is great if you want to be right of State Street which can be a noise problem but, we did not experience that. The elevator, however, is frighteningly loud - like a snooze alarm that never goes off. Do not get a room by the elevator. Rate included breakfast. Nice to run down & get a real cup of coffee (which was actually good) in lieu of the coffee maker taking up precious real estate on the bathroom vanity counter. Les mer

Taking into account the class of hotel, it was excellent.

My experience at this hotel was wonderful. My family and I took a trip to Santa Barbara via Amtrak from Los Angeles. It was a great trip, very relaxing. The Holiday Inn Express was about 3 blocks from the train station located off of State St. When I checked in the staff was very helpful and courteous. The rooms were clean, the hotel is a bit older […] and is mission style but kept very nice. The location is central to the Wharf and shopping. We walked and rented bicycles to tour the city. State Street is a good place for shopping and eating. The continental breakfast was very good and very convenient when you have two young kids. The Holiday Inn bring what you tend to expect from the Hoiday Inn. The renovation to the property dresses it up and makes the overall feel more comfortable. The rooms are small but offer all the needs. If your traveling with children the room will close in on you QUICK! The location is excellent especially if you're a shopper. Expect to pay for parking […] (approx. $10 plus tip with valet). The breakfast is the standard Holiday Inn continental breakfast. I recommend you grab a cup of coffee and walk to one of the nearby breakfast restaurants. Les mer

This hotel is a beautiful, historic landmark located half a block away from State Street. It's location is incredible. The hotel itself is very clean and aesthetically pleasing. The only problem I had was finding the hotel. The hotel is also named Hotel Virginia, and that sign is very distinguishable. However the Holiday Inn Express sign is not so distinct. […] Just look for the Hotel Virginia sign. Also, there is an architectural marvel of a building located behind the parking lot. It is a very tall and slender building that is reminiscent of the work of Antoni Gaudí. I would recommend checking this place out. Fantastic location. Great size rooms. Very spacious. Wonderful, friendly staff.

The hotel was in great location. Easy to walk to shops, bars and eateries. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We got a great nightlife suggestion from the door man. The room was very clean and super comfortable. We didn't experience any noise problems. We were located on the 3rd floor. There was not an elevator from the first floor, […] we had to use the stairs. Parking was $9.00/per night which wasn't bad @ all. I'd highly recommend this hotel and the next time I visit SB, I'd stay here. Les mer

Had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. Noise does travel in from outside of the room; this was not really a problem. More of a muffled sound. Other than that I would recommend this hotel. Close to the beach, shops, and restaurants.

Exactly what we expected request a non ground floor for noise, It was perfect clean , friendly, location could not have been more perfect. CLose to beach, pier, state street, shops dining clubs, bars everything walking distance no need for a car. Will definately stay there again

We stayed on the first floor, right off the parking lot. The walls in this hotel (at least on the first floor) are paper thin. We could hear people coming and going down the hall all night long. Also, this place seems popular with school groups and teenagers are not well known for their courtesy toward others. This, coupled with the paper thin walls, […] made for a VERY long night. But not one the ground floor. Room was very small and noise from the street and adjacent rooms was horrible. It was New Years but at anytime it would be noisy. We got zero sleep. They moved us to 3rd floor the next night and we were 100% satisfied. Wonderful room and quiet quiet quiet. Complementary breakfast very nice. Fantastic location (not beach […] but right where everything is happening). Short walk to theaters and great restaurants. Staff great, clean facility and very attractive building. From the memories of what this hotel looked like on the inside back in 1996-1997, I was quite amazed at the difference. The hotel now holds the antique charm that it was meant to have, and the rooms are most definitely more cozy. Everything was as expected and so much more.

Nice vintage boutique hotel, close to all the action and shopping on State St. We even stumbled into the weekly farmers market! Delicious.

First the positives: The hotel location is great and our bed was comfortable. We were on the second floor away from the street so it was relatively quiet UNTIL...5:43AM when the kitchen staff goes up and down the back stairs and opens and closes the stairway door every 5-10 minutes. Seeing as we'd gone to a concert the night before and it was our "night […] away" from our kids, the ONE morning we get to sleep in, this was incredibly maddening. I thought this hotel was ridiculously expensive for what it is. I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone!!! Les mer

When we checked in, the hotel was exactly as it appeared in the pictures--cute, quaint and clean. The staff was professional, the room was clean, the continental breakfast was tasty, and the location was excellent--just a few steps off State Street in the heart of everything! The only problem--and this is a very real problem--is the noise level in the […] hotel. The walls are paper thin and you could hear each time the toilet flushed or the shower was turned on! We were there for two weekday nights, but I think anything longer (or a weekend stay) would have driven us crazy! The hotel asks guests to be aware of making noise, which everyone obliged, but the hotel needs to do their part and soundproof all their rooms. I hate to sound like I'm bashing this hotel because I'm really not, but I think guests should be well aware of what they're getting when they book a room there. Les mer

Hotel is very close to shops, restaurants and bars and about 15 minutes walk to the beach. The staff in reception are friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast included in the price was reasonable. There is also free 24/7 coffee etc available in the lobby. I liked this hotel, even though nothing is cheap in Santa Barbara. The staff was attentive, the room size very nice with a small office table and office chair. There was a complete accessible bathroom. The hotel was quiet, easy to access, and there was was a nice breakfast with a wide variety of meal choices. I'd stay here again.

Not beach front, but very good location a just few steps of state st in the best zone. less tehan half mille of the beach. Very friendly attention, with a cheap and easy valet parking. Selfservice breakfast is ok, not great. Good for family vacation.

the room was a bit small and tight. but it was great. The AC was loud... Staff are very nice.The hotel is very clean but it has a funny odor. But I would stay there again as my second choice. Location is fantastic. They charge for parking per night

Great location to State stree and all the area attractions. Very thin walls and it was so loud we got no sleep. Breakfast was good and always fresh. There is no pool so you have to walk a half mile to the beach.

The bed was great. The place was within walking distance to State Street and the Pier,take comfortable shoes. Great place to go out celebrating without having to go driving around.

This is an average hotel in the very best location if your visit to SB is going to involve shopping and eating on State Street in addition to taking a look at the beach and harbor. It is located 1/2 block from State, easy walking distance up for shopping/eating, or down for the beach. The rooms are adequately sized & clean, with views only of adjacent […] parking lots and buildings. There is a hidden $9 per night parking fee added to the rate you booked, and the parking lot fills up, forcing you to leave your car with a valet. They strive to make this convenient, but it is an annoying feature that no other SB hotel/motel I've stayed at is burdened with. Les mer

We stayed at this hotel over the 4th of July. Safe area, right off the main State Street which has lots of shopping and places to eat. Walking distance to the beach for a fun fireworks show. The hotel room we were in was quiet and had recently been remodeled. The hotel staff was very friendly and gave great food and activity recommendations. Very convenient location, right on the strip. Staffs are very nice. Breakfast was not very good for the price of the hotel but coffee and tea are offered any time of the day. I am not sure if the bedsheets are clean enough because it makes me a little itchy. Insulation is not very good. The bar across the street is way too noisy on Saturday night.
