I attended a wedding at the Renaissance Festival grounds. This location was chosen because of its proximity to the sight. It was easy for us to get to and gave me piece of mind knowing that it was a quick jaunt back in that pouring rain. Also, loved the breakfast!!! yum!

The hotel was average-. Most of the staff did not speak English making communication difficult. Getting ready in the morning would have been quicker if sink was located outside the bathroom.

Excellent for business and pleasure, comfortable beds, nice buffet breakfast, friendly staff, spacious rooms. will stay here again...

For the location is was great HOWEVER, the room wast Musty ,, and there was a roach in the refrigerator and the bathroom was not clean the tub wall still had soap scum from the last guest. I am not sure but suspect that the sheet were not change. The guest service was friendly , and the shuttle to Busch Garderns was friendly and available , but not […] ever again. Les mer

Excellent stay for business or pleasure. Employees here were really friendly and helpful. Good job keep it up. Good bfast buffet and loved the fact that you get the morning paper right outside your room.

Nothing to complain about. They immediately changed my room to accomodate me. The shuttle service to Busch Gardens was prompt and pleasant. The breakfast buffet was a nice touch. Everybody working there made you feel that they were glad you were there. I will definitely stay here again.

The only problem was the breakfast. Same thing every different day but otherwise excellent home away from home

Excellent value for the price. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the place even smelled clean . I went to Moffitt Cancer center and I could have taken their shuttle for the 5 minute ride if I didn't want to drive . The breakfast was very good with a choice of eggs and waffles. Coffee was available 24 hrs/ day. Staff was very friendly […] from the efficient front desk to the ladies cleaning the rooms. Conveniently located, clean, nice pool, friendly staff. Good grab and go breakfast. Only thing lacking would be lunch or dinner offerings. Visiting sons at USF so it was perfect for what we needed.

Me & my fam stayed over the thanksgiving wknd. the breakfast was the same evrday. they need to change it up sum. fresh fruit other then apples/bananas the rm was small.not enough channels to watch(no Disney) other then that it was ok....price cld b cheaper

Overall we were very happy with this hotel. We were there 5 nights with a room on the top (4th) floor facing to the back of the hotel. Large well maintained room and hotel. Only complaints are: 1) Smokers go outside near pool to smoke. Some were loud after 10 pm more than once. 2) The scrambled eggs at breakfast were bad. I do not think they were real […] eggs. Otherwise the breakfast was good. 3) Large flat screen TV but not HD. Les mer

poor breakfast at this hotel, eggs terrible, pancake horrible, very limited choice, room condition good. stay here only if you need overnight place to sleep

Had read some great reviews of ths hotel and booked it because I wanted somewhere to stay near Busch Gardens. The plan was to drive to Clearwater and have some time on the beach then go to spend the night here so we could get to Busch Gardens early. As we left Orlando we had breakfast in a buffet restaurant but was dissapointed that they were clearing […] the breakfast items away at 10.45 even though thy advertised breakfast till 11.00am. We had a great visit to Clearwater then drove, via a Tampa Mall, to this hotel. Checked in and went to our rooms - which were fine - but then decided to have a drink in the bar. Apparantly the hotel is changing hands - so there was hardly any stock in the bar. Despite 2 pumps they did not have any draft and the choice of bottled beer was very restricted. The same situation applied with the hotel vending machines. When i chose this hotel I was not aware they would be running down stock levels - and the re were lots of other hotels in North Tampa with fantastic reviews - so I am a bit dissappointed. Oncve the take over is complete and everything is restocked it will be OK - but in the meantime ?? Les mer

The hotel was everything the reviews said about it. Friendly staff, great breakfast, clean rooms, comfortable beds, shuttle service excellent, will recommend to anyone. We stayed 3 nights don't have any complaints, and the price was great.

They have a shuttle that will take you to Busch Gardens and pick you up! That is $14 - $25 a day of parking free. There breakfast is great. Waffles, cheesy eggs (literally), good coffee (not in the rooms), cereal, sausage, bacon, etc. Rooms are nice. I asked not to be next to the elevator and be on a high room in my reservation on hotels.com, but what […] happens? They put me right next the elevator after the clerk told me the room was at the end of the hall??? Actually wasn't that bad! Didn't hear anyone. Staff was very friendly and the girl who drove us to Busch Gardens = she was very friendly and funny! She took really good care of us. Made the HEAT all the better when they would have the van running and blasting A/C when we got in! Pool - it is heated - it is like gross bath water. Awesome for the winter time, but HORRIBLE for the summer when you want to cool off. We will stay there again. Rooms are ok, typical for a hotel. Need minor upgrades, but great otherwise. Les mer

Next time I'll stay in Orlando, Clearwater or Sarasota and travel to Busch Gardens. The hotel is worth the price, but located closer to tattoo and pawn shops than grocery stores and family dining.

This hotel is kept up nicely. We were very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent. It is located across the street from the University of South Florida. I would stay again. The only complaint I have is the air conditioning unit was noisy so we had to turn it off while sleeping. The weather was nice, so it didn't matter much.

Great hotel and location. Would stay here again.

My stay at Wingate was great. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was very clean and the bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The complementary breakfast was also very good. The hotel is in a great location....easy access from I-75, and close to USF, Busch Gardens and Adventure Island. Hotel was conveniently located near USF but pricing seemed high for the overall condition, which I would rate average. TV reception was poor.

Situated approx 2-3 miles from Busch Gardens and Adventure Land(water theme park),this is a perfect hotel for anyone wanting to visit the above. They have a free shuttle bus which will take you anywhere within a 3 mile radius and come and pick you back up when ready. I stayed at this hotel while attending my son's orientation at USF. I was very happy with the cleanliness, service, convenience and even the free breakfast. If you're visiting USF and want a reasonably priced, convenient hotel stay here.

Highly recommend this hotel. I notified the hotel we were coming in late around 11:30pm, it was no problem. I called form the road because we were going to be later, again, no problem. At checkin the night manager had been waiting for us and quickly got us through checkin, told us about complimentary breakfast buffet. The buffet was wonderful - hot […] waffle maker, fresh citrus fruit, cereal, eggs, sausage, bacon, yogurt, even more. The hotel was across the street from USF and very close to Busch Gardens. The Wingate was extremely clean from the room to the lobby. All employees were kind and accomodating. The proximity to the parks was outstanding, especially when you have access to a shuttle bus, so you don't have to pay outrageous parking fees. When we read in the ads that hotel was redone, we thought, well they all said that! But we need a place to stay on our visit to Tampa for my daughter graduation. Chose for the location, but when we arrive I told my wife WOW this is NICE; the location, the rooms, the space and most of all the staff.... THANKS

The rooms were very clean as well as the hotel itself. Staff was friendly and ready to help with anything.

Perfect place

We always enjoy staying at the Wingate...the rooms are comfortable, the breakfast buffet is wonderful to have, and the addition of the new lounge was a pleasant surprise!
