Its a very nice hotel, only 10min walk to the strip. But not a good neighbourhood. Very friendly staff. Clean room and a great pool area. The gym is ok. Will stay there again...

I can't complain about the location or the room. That was all great!! what I didn't like is that the previous guest before us had access to our room because their keys were not deactivated and they walked in to our room while we were sleeping!! Not only that but housekeeping came knocking to our door at 9:30am on sunday morning before check out time […] when we had just gone to bed at 4:00AM and housekeeping woke us up before our noon check out time. It was a nice place to stay, though I wasn't actually there much.

This Hotel was really nice! I love the whole Bahamas theme going on through out the Hotel to the room. The free breakfast and free shuttle ride to the strip made this such a convenient spot to be at. Its hidden and not very crowded. The price was great! Only problem I had was at check in and check out. The girls at the desk can learn some customer service […] lessons. Very blunt, in a hurry (even thought there was NO line) and not even a smile!! The guy driving the shuttle seemed to be in a bad mood too. Other than that the cleaning staff and breakfast servers were so friendly and polite, they made up for the rudness of the front desk girls. someone needs to talk to them about being more informed and manners. Beautiful hotel overall, clean and just as the pictures show. I would defitnetly return to this hotel. Hopefully next time I visit there will be a change of staff at the front desk. Les mer

We had a good stay. I love Hampton Inn's and I've always had a good experience with them. The breakfast buffet was great and although the hotel was a bit of a hike from the strip, it was a nice place to relax and unwind. What we disliked was the hotel staff when we first arrived. We had asked if it was possible for an early check-in. We understood that […] this may not be likely, but we wanted them to contact us if a room happened to be ready at an earlier time. We were met with criticism and rude behavior. We are two girls in our mid-20's and it seemed as though we were prejudged and not respected. It was frustrating because I am a Hilton Honors member and I have stayed at tons of Hampton Inn's and never had this issue. Later on, we returned to the hotel just to check again if anything had become available. The lady at the desk this time was very courteous and told us that they would attempt to get a room ready for us as fast as possible and we were free to lay out by the pool and they would notify us when something became available. We were very impressed by this person and we wondered why we weren't treated this way the first time. Otherwise, the room was great. It was very spacious and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Desk service in the evening when we checked in was below par. Staff was unfriendly, unhelpful and unprofessional. The price that we paid was not worth the stay. Breakfast buffet was great, however.

Great staff, lovely place, enjoyed the breakfast.

Very convenient to Vegas strip and down the street from the Orleans. Hotel is in great condition - nice lounge area for the breakfast bar. Had a room with a King size bed and plenty of space. Exercise room was crowded - elliptical trainer was in poor condition. Overall I'd recommend for location and up to date interior.

A great place. Close to the strip. If your looking for the strip experience this hotel may not be for you. If your looking for a great place to stay, this is your place.

A+ for staff friendliness and ease to get around. D- for the bathroom fan running 24/7.

This hotel is a fantastic deal in Las Vegas! The room was very clean, spacious, and updated. The staff was super friendly and always willing to help. I would not recommend walking from this hotel to the strip, the neighborhood does not appear very safe and you would have to cross a dangerous traffic filled bridge. The shuttle service was convienant, […] however, you really need to plan ahead to catch show times/ dinner reservations because it only runs every two hours from the Tropicana back to the hotel and it stops picking up after 12:30 AM. Taxi fares were inexpensive. The free breakfast was a nice bonus - considering that no other hotel in Vegas seems to include any meals. I liked that there was no casino attached, which left for a peaceful nights sleep. There is a small bar which stops serving at 12:00 AM. Overall I would stay at this hotel again and recommend it to friends and family. Les mer

We had a 2 week old baby with us and we didn't want to carry her through a smoke filled, loud casino lobby so opted for the "business" hotel. It was convenient to where we were going, clean, quiet and the check in was quick and helpful to get us to our room fast so I could feed the baby!

I was really surprised about the size of the room. Oversized when you compare it to similar properties and rates. Super clean and spacious. The only con was the hotel does not have pay per view movies my husband and I wanted to stay in and watch a movie maybe something current. The rooms don't have any dvd player either...bummer!!!

The only suggestion I would like to make is maybe to change out your shower heads. The stream that came out was hitting the wall and shower curtin, not my body at all. I know the head had different pulse options which did not help in regards to getting the soap off my body. Just a suggestion. My husband and I will still frequent this hotel. everyone was very nice and helpful. the shuttle was nice to have.the shower dripped.offered to clean our room but we were already showering for the evening.

We enjoyed staying at the Hampton Inn Tropicana. The hourly shuttle to the Tropicana Hotel got us to the strip each day. They go above and beyond to pick up guests @ airport or Tropicana. Breakfast area was quite busy but food was quickly replenished, with waffles, eggs, bacon or sausage, very good. In and Out Burger and Jack in the Box are within […] walking distance, so you can grab some food. Gas station/C Store next door provides pop, beer, snacks etc. We used the Transit system and Monorail to get around the strip. We took a cab from the hotel to the Palazzo for fifteen bucks (with tip). We would stay here again, as we were looking for something OFF the Strip but still nearby. We got a great sale price on Hotels.com and if we go back to Vegas, we would stay here again. Les mer

This Hampton Inn is good if you DO NOT want a smoke-filled casino to deal with. It is important to note that if you end up staying here, it is so much more convenient to have your own car. While you could use the shuttle, or walk to Excalibur (nearest strip property), having a car is far better. You will end up walking a ton even with a car. Hampton […] Inn provides breakfast: eggs, turkey sausage, various breads and muffins, and do-it-yourself waffles that taste good. Overall, I recommend this hotel if you don't want the hustle and bustle of a mega-resort and you have a car. Les mer

We had 3 days at the Luxor, just to experience being on the strip, but for us the Hampton Inn was much better. If you're not bothered about being in a casino hotel, and want a place you can stay that is quiet whilst still just a walk to the strip, then I would recommend the Hampton inn. The room was really nice and clean and spacious too - it also had […] a good TV with HBO and there was free Wi-Fi in the room which you don't get in some of the bigger hotels. The hotel has a nice bar area and a nice pool too. There was a free shuttle bus to the Tropicana on the strip, but we walked most of the time. It only took about 10 to 15 minutes, which is nothing when you consider the walking you do up and down the strip. All in all I thought this hotel was great and if I go back to Vegas, it would be my first choice. Les mer

This was a convenient and very nice hotel for our stay in Vegas. It was nice to be away from the strip, but also close enough to enjoy the strip. The only reason I gave the hotel a 4 for comfort, was because our bed at home is so comfortable that any hotel is hard to compare. This is a great hotel.

Solid hotel not too far off the strip. We stayed there for two nights and were happy enough. It takes you about 7 minutes walking from the hotel to the strip (MGM or Excalibur) which isn't too bad. The room was ok even though we spotted a couple of bugs in the hall. Overall a good experience though.

The hotel was clean, modern, and a pleasure to say at. There is no casino on site, so we were able to walk through the hotel and not have our hair and clothing smell like smoke. The breakfast buffet was very good. The staff friendly and helpful. This will be our hotel of choice when visiting Las Vegas.

We had a great 2 night stay at this Hampton Inn. Considering the wonderful rate, the closeness to the wedding we were attending and how friendly all the staff was, it was one of the better hotel stays in Vegas we have ever had. The pool was quiet and relaxing yet there was some fun groups that had great energy. Since we weren't on the strip, we wanted […] to find a great sandwich shop 5 mins from the hotel - Capriottis and a great restaurant not on the strip - Capo's. I'm not a particular fan of staying on the Strip. This was a very good choice. Les mer

Easily overlooked hotel, since it's below the strip, but the pictures really match up with the hotel! Great hotel, great breakfast, absolutely thrilled with the stay.

I checked into the Hampton on a Labor Day weekend. There was no long line, and no check in fuss. The receptionist was kind, and quickly executed the process. The lobby was not as fancy as the bigger hotels, nor furnished with floral arrangements, but I was impresses nonetheless. They kept the lobby very clean, organized, and inviting. My room was located […] on the 1st floor, and it was the best floor to be on! It was close to the gym, pool, lobby, and parking. This hotel offers many amenities. Free internet in the room, free internet in the business center 24 hr, free fresh coffee in the lobby 24 hr, fitness center, laundry room, and my favorite-free breakfast buffet 6-10am. And you won't be disappointed with the food either. The rooms are like pleasing, and looks new. They upgraded their tv's to flat screen tv's. Aesthetically, I cannot complain; the walkways to the rooms look new too, like they've just repainted the walls and put in new carpeting. The pool was smaller than what I'm used to, but the design and layout was very accommodating. All the chairs were cushioned, like the ones at the Palms. Their were plenty of tables and chairs underneath shades for people who just want to relax and not tan. This, too, was aesthetically pleasing. We had a pleasant stay, but the advertised shuttle runs every 2 hours to a few specific locations, so we got an inexpensive taxi instead. Also, we made the mistake of counting on the free breakfast, but unfortunately it was Labor Day weekend, so the line for waffles and sausage was practically all the way to my room.

A quiet hotel close to the Strip, with a free shuttle to and from the Strip. The shuttle also goes to the airport every hour. We found it convenient since we only wanted to drop off a rented car, stay the night, and fly out the next morning. We had a sixth floor room with a nice night time view of the Strip.

I stayed for 4 weeks at the Hampton Inn Tropicana in July 2011 and I'm glad I chose this hotel. They have a free breakfast buffet every morning with yogurt, waffles, muffins, fruit, cereal and something different each morning like cheese omelets with ham or scrambled eggs with sausages. The free high speed internet is great too - I was able to download […] some of my favorite TV shows that I had previously missed. Finally, they have a free hotel shuttle service going to the strip every hour from 5:00am to 12:30am - really handy for tourists. Alternatively, if you're like me and you just can't wait it only takes around 10 to 15min to walk to the strip. The hotel is next to a gas station / convenience store so I was able to buy food and stuff at odd hours. It's also near a Wendy's, Jack in the Box, and In & Out Burger. If you're a tourist, you don't need a vehicle staying at this hotel but if you happen to have one, there is a free parking area across the street. All things considered, I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Vegas. Les mer

This hotel is a well run clean hotel. Even when busy the staff did well to accomodate everyones needs. Located just off strip so less hustle and bustle but close enough to walk or there is a convenient shuttle bus to strip or airport which runs regularly.A hot breakfast served every day and coffee available all day. Good Hotel at reasonable price and located few blocks away from Las Vegas Blvd. It has a large parking lot. You can even have breakfast every morning by the pool. There is a convenient food store few steps away.

It was a 4 minute walk to the strip right by the Excalibur and New York New York, which happened to be where the rest of our group was staying. I was very happy with everything about this hotel! I chose this after reading reviews that indicated it was a good choice. They were right. I didn't want to stay at a casino hotel (smokey, crowded. loud), but I wanted to be near the Strip because I had a 3 day conference there, and then of course wanted to sight-see at the strip. I was also looking for a hotel that included breakfast, free internet […] and an airport shuttle. The Hampton Tropicana had it all. I was especially impressed by the hotel staff - very willing to help out and prompt about it when it was needed. My only suggestion for improvement would be more frequent shuttles to the strip (although it's only a short Taxi ride to most places) and a website that gives more information about the shuttles. I couldn't find any information ahead of time. I tried the email through the site twice and it must not have been working, because I didn't get any response. I didn't find the 1-800 line very helpful. However, the hotel itself, once I arrived, met and even exceeded my expectations in some ways. Les mer

the location is really close to the strip but not walking distance. the room was ok..the sink in our room was cloged and the shower was kinda gross. the beds were ok but i couldnt sleep because the AC went out around 7AM and it was WARM..it came back on 2 hrs later. the free breakfast was good. hot and cold buffet style.

The location was great! Right there at the strip... next to Mandalay Bay. Location was very convenient, there's a gas station right next to the hotel.. and In and Out was across the street, cant go wrong with that! And there's a bunch of fast food places within 2 blocks! I would definitely stay there again !
