Hotel was great! Walking distant to ASU. Only Bad thing was the traffic in and out of the parking lot The hotel offers free parking. So all of the night life Seekers park there. The staff was very helpfull

I booked the whirlpool room 10 days in advance. When I got there, they didn't have it. They said one of their guests must have (they didn't know?!?!) extended their stay. The kicker was the manager then told me that those customers were a priority, and I was not. Was downgraded to a regular room and had to fight for a discount, which wasn't a good one. […] Will NEVER EVER stay at a Holiday Inn Express, seeing as I am not a priority to them. Les mer

Good place for the rate. They did screw up our reservation and have us down for 1 day, so we were locked out of our room, but it all got figured out in a timely manner and staff were very polite. Pool is in a very small confined area facing the parking lot...not much to be desired there, but overall good place.

Walking distance from ASU. The beds were very comfortable. The room did nto have a pull out couch, as promised, but the staff was quick to provide a high quality roll-away bed. Nice free breakfast. Well worth the price that I paid through hotels.com.

We were very satisfied with our stay at the Holiday Inn in Tempe. Everyone went out of their way to be friendly. The hotel was clean and our room was wonderful. I will be staying there again soon.

They have construction going on, but that was not a problem. The room was extremely dirty, and the room stank really bad. The bathroom smelled as if they cleaned it with dirty rags, and the towels, as you might guess by now, smelled bad as well. Staff was nice, breakfast was acceptable. Next time I go to Barrett/ASU on a multiple days trip, I will […] check the Motel located across the street (Super 8m Motel) from this one. It can't be worse. On previous visits, I have stayed at: - Four Points by Sheraton, which was good enough, but the price is much higher, within walking distance from Barrett. This hotel shows its age, breakfast was OK'ish, and did not like the bathroom door (sliding door that does not seal completely, hence, always cracked open at best. - (A+++) Spring Hills Suites, great hotel, roomy, separate work area with sofa and kitchenette, very clean, very good breakfast, but is located about 2 miles from ASU (3 miles to Barrett). Better price than Four Points and much better hotel. This would be my first choice for a couple days stay. I checked out a day earlier from Tempe University Inn, as I could not stand sleeping another night at this hotel, preferred loosing the money for the last day stay than having the smell the room all over again. No AC in 1st room, 2nd room smelled like the inside of a gym, 3rd room was fine. The fellow at the front desk retained his cool, even "upgraded" the room without additional cost, apologized. To be truthful, the motel is in the midst of a renovation, but, gee, no AC in AZ in July!?

arrived at midnight exhaused after an 8 hour day of work and 12 for my boyfriend only to find the hotel under renevations that we had no idea about, smells stair wells and were told a fully booked hotel. Not that I requested a king size bed and got 2 small beds to find one bed with a pile of dirty kleenex tucked under the sheets and a room with no A/C. […] The front desk was kind enough to move us to a new room but no until the following night. we did not receive a one night refund just and apology. If I was a big enough, witch I would have pressed but I thought Id at least have an offer for a refund but nope. We ended up staying Saturday night in Mesa Arizona at another hotel 5 miles away which I must say was 1000 times better than the tempe university inn. Sorry I don't need a 5 star hotel just a neat clean place to stay not a land fill Les mer

Front Desk: Very Nice, Pool: small but clean Room: Not bad, Not great but Bathroom: AAAUGGH smelled of mildew, mold and reminisent of an out house. The bathtub was beyond disgusting with a obviously visible large oily ring around tub. No bathmat and shower curtaing would not stay closed so water was everywhere.

So I pretty much knew what to expect when I got there. I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised with the room. The location is somewhat hidden and I drove right past it the first time becuase the sign was only a tarp. Overall the room was nice for the price and the service was pretty good. I do have to say the bed was pretty comfortable […] and it was hard to get up in the morning. I would definetly stay again. Les mer

I was in the market for a hotel without paying an outrageous amount of money. I found this one, and couldn't be more satisfied with my experience. The hotel was clean, spacious, and provided everything I wanted. The hotel staff was friendly, and the breakfast provided in the morning was very good. For the price we paid for this room, I don't think we could have asked for anything better! A/C worked great, room was clean, and couldn't beat the price!

This hotel was in the heart of Tempe! For the price you can't go wrong it's convenient and close to everything you need. My bf and I loved our room it's was huge and perfect for the weekend. Ac works great. Would plan on coming back. Great customer service and free breakfast which includes waffles and eggs and bagels and donuts!

Tempe university inn was nightmare. The placed smelled like backed up sewage. The bed sheet and blankets smelled of bo. There was crack heads hanging out in the parking lot. Never again I'd rather sleep in the car

It wasn't a hotel in the best condition, but it was still nice. They said they were in the middle of a name change so the sign didn't have a name on it outside the hotel. But, the staff was great! The showers are horrible for tall people.

Decent continental breakfast. Convenient location near University

It was much cleaner than some of the other reviews had me thinking. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful and always asking if I needed anything else for my room as I walked by. my wakeup call never came (for my son's ASU graduation that morning) my room was not cleaned one day. no extra towel we had requested. breakfast is poor.

Checked in easily. Originally placed t end pf hall near exit and traffic in and out of the exit door was ridiculous at late hours. The night clerk gave me a new room around midnight without questions/problems. Room was clean and breakfast was standard. It was close to my daughter's dorm. I will book there next visit.

The room and hotel were clean. Employees were friendly and courteous. Room was in need of fixing up. TV was old and had very few channels (<10). Air conditioner was noisy. Shower fawcet dripped. Breakfast - I have celiac disease (allergy to wheat). Couldn't eat anything on the breakfast buffet.

I stayed here while I did a triathlon at Tempe Town Park. And I assure you it won't be the last time I use them. Typical low-cost motel but very friendly and helpful staff and right around the corner from Mill Ave and ASU.

Decent place to stay..a hop and a skip to ASU. AC is a little loud but overall room is clean. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The location was the main purpose for choosing this hotel as it was close to everything from ASU University to downtown Phoenix. Lots to do and area is young and vibrant, which appealed to me. Pool was a little small but feasible for tanning and the gym had everything to get by with.

Hotel is ok for price. Carpets are worn and bed was hard, but the service was great and the location perfect.

had a room on the 1st floor, it was a handicap room and we are not handicapped. the shower was situtated that the water sprayed directly out on to the floor. no way a handicap person would have been able to use it easily. the bathroom door threshold was missing and we kept getting stuck by little nails in the floor. there were a bunch of kids(19 and […] older)next door to us and they partied all night and it sounded like they were moving furniture. kept bumping the wall real hard. We liked our stay. Nice, big clean rooms for the price.

This hotel made a good effort to offer nights stay at a good rate, location was a plus close to ASU/millstreet, I came into hotel without expecting a whole lot due to price but the hotel did the job, pool area very nice, and rooms were spacious: had fridge, access to microwave. Just needed a place to stay over night. Had family in town. Check in was easy and staff was friendly. Rooms were up bit out dated but my GF loved the older feel of the room. Bed was comfortable. Shower head need to be upgraded was old and well used. Location was good, staff was friendly, and rooms were clean. Rates were pretty good. There were a couple of things that could use improving. The beds, very stiff and hard. This hotel use to be a Comfort Inn so when i booked I was really expecting the quality of Comfort Suites beds, were disappointing. TV's were outdated. When we arrived that evening […] to turn if for the night, about 11:30 pm, right in front of the hotel lobby, were about 5 teenagers with a couple cases of beer just sitting at the entrace drinking, and lining up their cans. Hotel staff should have had control of that and ask the youngsters to go to a different location. This made the location seem unattended and lowered the standards of the hotel. Les mer

This hotel was in an aweful place and it was filthy. I strongly recommend that you ask for clean sheets upon arrival. They let shady looking people hang around the premises which meant I felt that I could not walk and enjoy the weather. Oh yes. And then the charged me for the room even though I was fully charged by hotels.com. awedul just aweful

This was the longest night of my life! The first room they gave us didn't have a working a/c unit...the thing wouldn't even blow any air. We called the front desk and were told they were to busy and to call back. We did call back and about 20 minutes after this call the front desk employee walked in our room and proceeded to tell us how hot it was...like […] we didn't already know that! They switched our rooms and this roomo did have a blowing a/c unit but it never got cold! We ended up sleeping with the window open and because it is so close to ASU we not only were sweating and hot but we also got to hear all of the college kids partying all night. UGH! The hotel is fine for a place to sleep, but my room's furniture was rather worn out and frankly not very clean. The bed was comfortable and sheets were clean at least, but it's clear that they do not do much to the rooms. Easy to walk to ASU campus though, which was the purpose of my visit.

We need a quick place to stay. Overall it was alright. The tv did not work there were only 4 channels and the tv picture came out purple. It was quite louder. The staff was friendly upon check in and out.

Fun Location, some good food within walking distance. Beds are extremely Firm. Desk extremely polite and the breakfast was very good, homemade waffle machine :)
