Grei belighenhet på hotellet i utkanten av Ann Arbor, når en kommer kjørende fra Detroit. Et lite "food court" ligger like i nærheten, hvor det er ulike restauranter. Ellers er rommene utstyrt med kjøkken, og er veldig bra om en vil bo der over en lengre tid og ønske å ha denne muligheten. Det er ikke langt til shoppinsenteret Brairwood mall (5-10 min å gå). Fikk mye for pengene - det eneste negative var at jeg følte rommet luktet gammel røyk - men det var ikke røke rom. Utstyret i rommet var ok, men alle rom er i ferd med å gjennomgå renovering (oppslag med bilder i lobbby), så det er sikkert enda bedre utstyr å se frem til.

Et rimrlig hotell, og langt bedre enn prisen skulle tilsi. Innendørs svømmebaseng åpent fra kl 7 om morgenen til kl 11 om kvelden. Svært populært for familier med små og større barn. Fri internet med printer. Hyggelig og hjelsom betjening.

Friendly staff, big and (almost) clean room. Noisy, but very effective aircon. Stayed only one night on my way to Chicago, would have searched for something else if staying in Detroit for more nights, but the Econo Lodge was just alright.

"worst stay ever."
This hotel looks nice in the lobby and has potential. But after that I was not impressed what so ever. To start the grass was not mowed, the outside of the hotel looked like they were abandon. I went into the pool area, the pool was freezing and the hot tub was just as cold. The continental breakfest was coffee and whole fruit I turned around and packed […] up my things and left. The room was ok thank goodness the heater worked and the bed was half way comfortable. The worst thing of the whole trip was when I went to check out the front desk clerk couldn't even look me into the eyes and ask me how my stay was... what every happen to customer service. Les mer
"Metropolitan in Detroit - near airport"
First room we were given had no furniture and was filthy! Second room was ok. We asked for another set of towels twice and never received them. We were told we had to wait for the shuttle driver to come back.
Just what we needed. Nice relaxing stay.

The elevator was down, the room card didnt work, and the t.v. remote was missing....small things, but they add up, slightly disappointed.

The hotel was just recently taken over by new management and no one knew how to handle anything. I was supposed to leave my car there for a week but on one had any idea what paperwork I needed, so they printed a form that I filled out with my name and address and description of car. "Metropolitan Hotel Detroit Airport"
I've already written a review of this hotel but i can't stress enough how dirty this hotel was....The front desk people and the shuttle guys were very freindly but they are the ONLY thing good about our stay. There is no savings large enouph to give up cleanliness.

"not impressed"
I waited an hour at the airport till the shuttle came. The receptionist never asked me what airline I had taken and when I called the second time, she told me the shuttle driver had been waiting at the other terminal. If I had known how long I would have to wait in the cold, I would have taken a taxi. When I got to the hotel, the receptionist gave […] me my key and wrote the room number on it. I searched for 10 min and couldn't find it. When I called her to tell her the room didn't exist, she told me I had gone to the wrong tower, but I had gone to the tower she wrote on my key. The next problem was that there was no soap. I called to request some and she told me I could come get it since she couldnt leave the desk. I basically told her it wasn't good service to tell me that and that I would appreciate some soap before my food came. She then told me the shuttle driver would bring it when he got back. None of their restaurants were open and there was no room service. I was told the restaurants are only open on the weekend and that I could order out so I did. When the food came they called me and made me come to the lobbly to pick it up instead of him bringing it to the room. I understood the safety issue but then I was exhausted and thoroughly aggravated with all the walking. I have to say, the next morning the service was much better. People were very kind and solitious. The night shift must just have had a bad night but they really could use a course on manners and customer service. The shuttle driver was great though. He offered to drive me to a restaurant and he was very kind. Les mer
"METROPOLITAN HOTEL DETROIT AIRPORT"
This month we stayed at the Metropolitan Hotel before and after our vacation with the park and fly privledge. The staff was very freindly but warning to all looking for a great price....You get what you pay for and this hotel was nothing short of FILTHY......The carpet in both rooms had large dark stains, ripped carpet, peeling wallpaper, holes in the […] drapes, hadn't been vaccumed in who knows how long.....IT WAS DISGUSTING... When we complained to the front desk about the conditions of the first night stay, the very nice front desk girl offered to put us in the north tower because it was newer...What a dump with more of the same and worse. Our flight left very early the next morning and our return flight was very late returning so we had no time to change plans for our return stay...I couldnt imagin letting a small child crawl on that floor.. Sorry to be to blunt but things don't change if we're not honest with these reviews. Les mer
"Worst experience ever!!!!"
I wrote an extensive review on trip advisor about the hotel. Just to sum it up. Don't let the good rates fool you. Not only will you be disappointed, you will want to fuss at hotels.com for posting this place as an option. The managers were uncompassionate, the front desk (evening) staff could care less, the rooms were ill equipt and not like the pictures […] at all. This use to be a wonderful hotel, well times have changed and clearly the management has too... It was so bad she did not even sleep there and the room was already paid for, for 2 nights. If you are looking for a pleasurable hotel experience, don't stay at the Metropolitian Hotel. Les mer
"Metropolitan Hotel Detroit, Mi"
The rooms were not as clean as I would have liked. The hot tub was colder than the pool. The atmosphere was a party in progress rather than family oriented. Did not enjoy myself.
towels was short supply in room. No TV/Cable remote. No soap and No coffee pot but coffee. However the beds so very good. Had a good night sleep. Very friendly staff.
"Not that impressed"
I am not at all impressed with this hotel. The hot tub was not hot, nor was there an out of order sign anywhere near it. I booked a room with two double beds and wound up with a room with a king size bed and a pullout sofa sleeper. We had difficulty getting extra blankets and towels from the front desk. The complimentary breakfast consisted of bagels, […] Kroger brand Carbmaster yogurt (which was nasty) and either apple or orange juice. When I looked out the window of my room, I noticed that the cover on the outdoor pool had what appeared to be mold all over it. I am not at all satisfied with my experience at this hotel and strongly recommend against anyone staying there, especially if you are traveling with small children like I was. Les mer

"Metropolitain in Detroit. Metro"
This motel has exteme issues. The room was very dirty, had to clean the room myself with wipes. Main Elevator was out of order for the four days i was there, had to use the stairs and I was on 3 rd floor. No ice machines worked, had to goto front desk for ice. Hot tub was cold. No towels at pool, had to ask for towels at front desk. Complimentary breakfast, […] cereal and bagels. I would not recommend this motel for anyone. You will be sorry you stayed here. Les mer
"Limited Shuttle Freezing Room"
First, they advertise that they offer shuttle service. Beware, the service ends at 1:00 a.m. and they will not accomodate anything later. We had to spend $20 to get ourselves to the hotel. Had we known this we would have booked elsewhere. Tried to complain to front desk and they were down right rude. Secondly, room was freezing cold. Took forever for […] the heat to kick in and warm the room. Obviously they do not bother to turn on heat in rooms when not occupied. Extremely dissatisfied with our stay. "This hotel needs renos and a good cleaning ASAP"
We stayed in this hotel before and were pleased with it . This time we were really disappointed. The stench in the foyer and main hall was horrible. It smelled like sewer back-up. Our room on the first floor was convenient but was in need of repain: the carpet was stained and dirty. The bathroom needed a complete renovation. Broken door, broken tiles […] in the tub, shower and drain didn`t work. The bed was comfortable but the lack of general cleanliness was our greatest complaint. "luxury long lost.."
Clearly the best...once upon a time. Building still solid,rooms beat up, elevator inoperable, restaurant closed. Nice staff, great for single guys or bachelor outing. Dont take wife/girlfriend/family here to impress.
"NO Hotel Staff"
It's obvious that any of the money spent on this hotel was for the main lobby. Even though there is no bar, no restaurant, no working ice machines, one staff member, and closed gift shop. The main lobby is very nice.

This hotel is cheap, beautiful pool area with hot tub locker rooms, the room was nice, bathroom could use a update, but overall very nice hotel for the price.
"Metropolitan Hotel - Detroit Airport not a 3 star"
This hotel is definitely not a 3 star. No wonder they slash their prices! The hotel had leaks, hardly any staff, and the ones that are there, are not very organized. Will never stay here again nor will I recommend it to anyone. I will warn them though!!

"Can't stay here any more"
I usually use this hotel for my overnight stay when I get in at midnight into DTW but this last stay has convinced me that I will not use this hotel any more. The elevator did not work, the first room smelled of cigarette smoke, the second room had no hair dryer (even though the holder was there), no clock radio, no lamp on the desk and the carpet had […] holes and looked dirty. Upon entering the hotel everything seemed in order accept for the musty smell... at that point I should of walked out.... The staff, though friendly was very unorganized. Once I found my room, it was not in a good state. The appointments were worn and old. There was no wireless and when I asked for a ethernet cord they had to send someone to search […] rooms that were not occupied to find me one. Only soap was provided in the run down bathroom... there was no shampoo or lotion. The secondary funiture in the room had some form of oily stains on it which prompted me to place towels down before I sat. Honestly, I felt like I should wear my closes to sleep in. Upon entering the pool area the smell of mold was overwelming.... while checking the pool for cleanlyness it was very murky and had what seemed to be pieces of skin or something floating in it.... needless to say I did not allow myself or my son to swim. Hotel was alright for price. It was a huge hotel that looked mostly vacant. Very cold as if heat was not working. Free shuttle service was horrible and unreliable. The shuttle attendant acted as if he hated his job. There was a bar with no drinks to purchase. Food was limited at hotel to burgers & fries. Hotel lobby is georgeous, amenities showcased is great. However, once you get to your floor and then to your room, it is like the elevator brough you to a different hotel. We also used the shuttle to the airport, it worked well for going there, but then for the return it was 1 hour we waited for a shuttle to pick us up. "Metropolitan Hotel in Detroit- Wonderful staff"
The price was right, continental breakfast was comparable to other hotels I stayed in. However, the staff were wonderful. They went above and beyond any of my expectations. I stayed on my way out of town and when I came back in, both times, staff were great. The lobby and hallways on main floor look nice, but rooms are a little dated and could use […] a facelift. "Metropolitan Hotel, DTW airport"
Nice facility, in poor repair. One elevator out of service, the other smelled like burning hydraulic oil. Internet doesn't work. Long walks to open doors. Clean and comfortable rooms, but tub drained slowly. Good price though.
"Not safe"
Hotel is very old, not well maintained. Security was a concern given that the side doors stay unlocked any one can enter the hotel freely without been noticed. The rooms in my floor smell marijuana although it is smoke-free hotel. I will not come back to this hotel.

Room was straight from a 1975 Holiday Inn. Elevator reeked and the hallway smelled of smoke. Room was missing ethernet cable for internet connection, and front desk made little or no attempt to get me one. Continental breakfast was nothing more than coffee some mini muffins and a few bagels. We paid little for this room for the night. It was an inexpensive room. It wasn't filthy, but it could have been cleaner. The bathroom really needed some maintenance. The main floor lobby and hallways were very clean, shiny and new. Not at all like the rooms - it was deceiving.

The room had a lot to be desired . Staying again this week with a understanding of nicer room . Also needed hot water in shower .The Met is still beautiful and you can tell it was once owned by Conrad Hilton, wedding receptions and meetings are a plus. Shuttle to DTW + ...Pool & people = great stay

"Website view of hotel deceiving"
On the website, the hotel looks almost better than a normal 3 star hotel. When you arrive, the lobby gives off a "fancy" hotel feel until you really take a look around. Once getting to the elevator and hallways, your thoughts change. 2 star hotel at best. Seems more like the quality of a Red Roof Inn.
