Det var stor forsell på rommene vi fikk. Det ene var ok på alle måter, mens det andre hadde en inngangsdør som så vidt lot seg åpne og lukke. Og i gangen var det litt dårlig lukt, samt at det ikke var særlig varmt på badet. Rommene er utstyrt med lokalt aircondisionagregat, og dtte medfører endel støy. Videre virker restaurant og bar "litt kalde" og ikke så alt for trivelige. Et pluss for gode senger og masse puter for dem som liker dette.

Hotellet har en fin beliggenhet nede ved sjøkanten og i direkte forbindelse med et fint gangsystem langs bryggene, og samtidig nært til Norfolks trivelige bysentrum. Betjeningen er hyggelig og hjelpsom.

"Close to the convention center"
I was in town for a conference that was hosted at the VA Beach convention center, so this location and price were great. However, I find it a bit ridiculous that they charge 9.95/day for internet access. The staff was friendly and housekeeping was amazing!!!
"Says Hilton, but do not stay"
Ok Hotel, but restaurant is not good. Do not order the Nachos. They gave me soggy chips, chips were not even restaurant style chips. Food was all over the place, wasnt put together properly at all. I cook better at home. Breakfast was not all that better.

Very bad experience. Room is stuffy. Ordered room service breakfast ended up they missed my order. Only good is very close to the convention center.

WARNING - Internet access is EXTRA. $10 extra per day just to access the internet from your room. Imagine charging extra to use the TV, or the shower. Come on.... this is 2012.

"HOTEL STAY"
The warm cookies at check in was as advertised. Great cookies. The room was nice, comfy. the only problem we had was the A/C unit was not functional. It blew one speed all night. Was not able to control it. Otherwise, Great stay.
"Very nice accommodations"
I enjoyed my stay. This is the second time for me. I like the recent renovations. Very close to where I wanted to be. Enjoyed restaurant, bar and took advantage of room service. I would definitely stay again!
"Convenient to Virginia Beach Convention Center"
We had to make a last minute trip to Virginia Beach for a family event and opted to stay at the Doubletree primarily because of it's location. We arrived late in the evening so did not eat at the restaurant or partake of any other services. The room was large, comfortable and well-appointed. One gripe--the wifi is not free unless you are a Hilton Honors […] member. In the age of ubiquitous free Internet access on just about every corner, this was off-putting and annoying. "Nice surprise"
From the outside it appears to be a bit older but it truly was a nice hotel. The front desk staff was very friendly and accomodating. We were there for a race and were allowed a later checkout which was very convenient. Very clean. The room came with a very nice large screen television, a microwave and refrigerator. Nice clean linen, none of those old […] shiny polyester bedspreads. Upon arrival and departure we got some of the best chocolate chip oatmeal cookies ever! Les mer

staff was FANTASTIC!!! only downside was my room did not have an in room fridge and microwave as advertised. because i needed to be on the assigned floor and didn't have the energy to change rooms i did not complain.

I was there with my husband and my daughter for a mini vacation and usually I am extremely satisfied but this time I was a bit disappointed. More so, my husband and daughter were not pleased as well. We were very comfortable but the tv was not working properly, there was no refrigerator in the room and the window was extremely filthy. The Doubletree was very nice and the staff was very friendly. It was winter at the beach so it was very quiet and the price was a great value. Love the warm cookies upon arrival and the room was so very comfy. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel staff was very helpful and the hotel location was great. My only complaints were that there were a couple of stains on the carpet in the room, the toilet was a bit slow to flush, and one of the tiles on the bathroom ceiling was out of place. However,the room was comfortable otherwise.
"Nothing Special"
This hotel was nothing special at all. It wasn't located immediately near anything. All the outlets in the room wouldn't hold the cords, so slowly the cords fell out and left me with no charge on my phone, laptop, or nook. Additionally, the housekeepers didn't clean my room. The Doubletree gives out THE best cookies. Everything about this stay was quick & to the point- which is exactly what we needed. The Doubletree needs to learn something about customer service. The TV did not work, the bathroom door would not close, the pool was cold, the computer in the business center did not work and the hotel did not have free Wi-Fi as expected.

"Right next to Convention Center"
This hotel was great. Nicely maintained even with having Smoking floors. They were very accommodating to me and my Mal-Shi puppy. Loved the warm cookies at check-in! Nice large flat screen and comfortable beds. I would definitely stay again.

The hotel and the staff were great. The Max & Erma's restaurant inside is nothing to brag about. You are next to the Convention Center, which is great if you have a Conference there. You're roughly a mile from the beach. If the noise from jets taking off from the nearby Navy base don't bother you, it's a nice place to stay.

I went here for a conference. I booked my room for one night two months in advance and when I found out that I would be staying more than one night, I called less than two weeks later to book an additional room. The price had more than doubled in less than two weeks, they wouldn't let me book only one night and the guy was a little snarky. So I ended […] up staying at the Quality, which was less expensive, comfortable, closer to the beach, and the internet was free. "Double tree not a good place to stay."
I will not recommend this Hotel for two good reason. 1.The room that I had has no cooler and microwave. 2.I was placed close to generator at tent floor. Its annoying whem the generator energized and you can hear a loud noise inside my room. Next visit to Virginia Beach I will choose hotel right next to the beach.

We were only able to stay for a couple of days but it was a great hotel. We had to leave very early in the morning on our last day in order to avoid the traffic because of Hurricane Irene. The hotel provides a shuttle to the beachfront which was awesome as it let us stay off the beach in a quieter area and yet have easy and free access to the beach. The only downfall was that the rooms only have double beds and we like a queen. The all you can eat breakfast in the hotel lobby was nothing special. don't waste your money. The front desk people were friendly and the restaurant on the first floor was great. However, this hotel was old and must be under a budget-saving plan. The old carpet, old bathroom, and not clean pillows/ sheets were disappointment compared to other double tree hotels. Especially, the housekeepers work very slow. When we came back from the beach around […] 2 pm (left hotel around 7 am), the tip on my night stand was gone but nothing in the room was clean. After I talked to a manager, she came back to just clean the bathroom. Also they gave us only 2 towels every day, so we had to ask extra everyday. Another big concern was a paper thin wall. We could hear everything even closing a curtain sounds from our next door and when a family with a baby arrived, it wasn't the best situation. We actually liked the location because it was more quiet and cleaner than ocean front area (from all the drunken young people). If you have a car, it was pretty nice area to stay. Plus they also have a shuttle to the beach. We had a puppy and we didn't have any issue from the hotel so it worked out fairly. If you're o.k. with old facilities and don't mind to call the front to ask a couple of missing items, overall, it's o.k. stay with friendly staffs. Les mer

The stay was very pleasant. My boyfriend and I spent 3 days an 2nights at the double tree. What I loved was the shuttle because of the location its not easy to walk to the beach so that was convenient. The driver was very helpful with fun things to do in the area as well. Welcomed immediately by frustrated staff, (I blame the obnoxious customers) however, they kept their bearing and treated me very well.. Free cookies to boot! Out of the three elevators only one was operational our entire three day stay, so getting to and from our room to the lobby was a waiting game. The room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable, […] my only complaint is the blinds covered all but about a half inch of the window allowing sun light to pour in every morning... right in my eyes!! Overall the staff was very friendly and polite, the hotel itself could probably use a facelift (seems a little outdated), and the room was inviting and relaxing. Nice hotel. Nicer than DoubleTrees I have stayed at in the past. Convient to most everything. Offered a shuttle to the beach. What a plus! Still offer the warm cookies at check-in. That's a BIG hit with the kids as well as the adults. The in-hotel resturant was nice and not too expensive. The breakfast buffet was ok. Not my favorite part. Went down […] the street and got a better breakfast for about the same money. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Over all, I was pleased and the stay there was a plus for our 3 nite stay. Not near the beach. Hotel provided frequent shuttles to and from beach. Staff very courteous and helpful. Rooms very clean. I had a very pleasant and relaxing stay.
"Quick VA Beach Get Away"
Hotel offers a shuttle every 1/2 hour to the Boardwalk from 8:AM to 10:PM - very nice. Driver made excellent recommendations for restaurants: Ocean Eddie's on the pier, and Waterman's. Only one elevator was working initially, but by the time we left all three were up and running. Stains on the carpets and plumbing issues, neither of which interferred […] with the quality of the stay. Microwave, fridge, iron, and coffee maker . . . but no hair dryer! Do not recommend the onsite restaurant for food. The drinks at the bar are decent though! If you go during peak season, consider the short drive north on Pacific to First Landing State Park. It offers beach access on the bay with a lot less crowding than the resort area. Les mer
