Vi hadde på Crowne Plaza Hotel i forbindelse med en fotballkamp. For de som ikke vil bo på et lugubert hotell er dette absolutt et bra alternativ. Det ligger like ved shoppingsenteret Arndale. Nærmeste Metrolink-stasjon, Shudehill, ligger rett nede i gata (200 m). Ellers går det gratis shuttlebusser rett utenfor hotellet. Det er også flere matbutikker like i nærheten.

Veldig fornøyd, med unntak av at det ikke ble vasket på rommet i løpet av de dagene vi var der. Mulig vi måtte spørre om dette, men iom at de ikke vasker, burde det vært en støvsuger eller feiebrett på rommet. Ellers veldig fornøyd med beliggenhet, service og type rom.Rommet var også veldig rent og pent når vi kom.

"Girls weekend"
Overall this was a very good experience We had 2 standard rooms for 1 night, both of which were well decorated & well appointed, having an in-room safe, iron & ironing board in the wardrobe (fantastic- no dated trouser press!!) & haidryer (good quality, salon style), mini toiletries in the bathroom, more than adequate. My room had a small shower room […] & although it wasn't a problem, 2 of the lights were out, external corridors were also in the process of being renovated. Maybe it was because we had standard rooms, but I was slightly disappointed after reading some of the previous reviews. No sign of the mini bar, biscuits, luxury tolietries or rain forest shower & marble bathroom. As we got a very good price, I'd definitely upgrade next time! The location ws very good, close enough to Piccadilly Station to walk, close to all shops & amenities, it was also surrounded by bars & restaurants, I didn't find the noise overwhelming either. All staff we encountered were friendly, polite & happy to help, nothing was too much trouble. One final point- congratulations to the people & businesses of Manchester for recovering so well from the riots that week- there were few signs & local people seemed to be out supporting the city. The police were understandably out in force, though mainly on foot patrol, & were approchable & stopping to chat with locals & tourists alike- a great response & very reassuring! We'll definitely be back & would consider the MacDonalds Townhouse- depending on the price! Les mer

"Great place right in the city center"
Excellent hotel and excellent service, especially for what one pays. Beautifully renovated rooms. The staff actually respected the "do not disturb sign" and deposited a pile of towels and refills for coffee etc in front of the door - this was greatly appreciated. Many good restaurants (mostly asian) and pubs in the area.

What a find! We. 4 ladies stayed in this hotel the weekend after the riots and were made to feel very welcome and safe. Customer service here is exemplary,nothing is too much trouble! Food in bar restaurant good, either for snack or something more substantial. Rooms spacious and very clean. Showers exceptional.Will definitely book again.

the room was very clean and comfy and the service was good, downside is the lighting in the bathroom is so dim it is impossible to get ready and ruined my stay, this really needs to be sorted out! The noise in the middle of the night from guests returning to their room was unbearable as was the noise from the street, managed about 2 hours sleep in total. […] the breakfast however was of exceptional quality which was a blessing after the awful night spent there. Shame really as it is a lovely looking hotel Les mer

Boutique hotel, tasteful, modern & classy. Very friendly staff. Good location for trains/shops etc. Noisy if at the front of the hotel. Would book again.

we travelled for our daughter's graduation. This hotel was accessible as we had travelled by plane. Car parking was not available so this could be an issue for others.
Small but perfectly formed rooms. Quiet, despite it's central location. Friendly staff and great, great coffees on room service. It backs onto Portland Street, so expect a few "lively" types knocking around the streets during the nighttime. Excellent value, though.

Nice clean comfortable hotel. Rooms well equipped. Worth checking the location of your room as there is a nightclub behind the hotel that you do not want to overlook when it is open. Worth the hotel making you aware of this so that you can opt to change room/upgrade to avoid it.

"Ideal location, Great Hotel"
Was in Manchester for a wedding, and this hotel was ideally located really close to the centre of town. The Hotel itself was perfect really. Comfy bed, spacious room, really good bathroom, good service, and a nice bar downstairs. For £10 more than the Novotel/Ibis just round the corner, I think it was great.

Room well furnished but felt small with very low ceiling. Windows dirty and did not provide much protection from the noisy street. Location perfectly convenient.

We got a very reasonable rate for our one night stay and were delighted with the location, room standard and general vibe in the hotel. Everything is very coordinated and we loved the olive green/aubergine room and the monsoon rainfall shower in the trendy black bathroom. We would have loved to have stayed longer.

"Disorganised and not up to standards expected"
Very disorganised! We waited an hour to check in, was allocated the wrong room twice, and on the third room I WAS CHECKED INTO SOMEONE ELSES OCCUPIED ROOM, IT WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE! (i will be taking this negligence further!) In the final room the carpets had not been cleaned properly in the bedroom, and the lighting was not ideal for getting ready in […] the evening. not a bad hotel but a bit of work reqd plumbing wasnt working properly and the air con needed some attention , very noisy and kept makeing lound noises every hour had to get key card re programmed as i could not get in my room ,

2nd time we have visited the hotel and yet again so impressed with everything about it. Location is 10 mins from City Centre, 20 from the MEN and 15 from MNC Picadilly Station. The hotel is beautiful and very tastefully decorated. The room was large, had a great view of the city and the bathroom was spectacular! Great central location for the shops and bars. The porter was on hand to let us in at 2:30am, wonderful!

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night, we were in Manchester to see Take That. We found the hotel easily from Oxford Rd station, we had read an earlier review telling us that the hotel still has the old Princess Hotel signage, think this needs to be changed. Fifteen of us stayed here for my friend's hen do. The location was perfect, centre of town, 5 minute taxi from Man Piccadily Train Station and we walked back in about 15/20 mins.The hotel staff were great, really friendly, helped us organise taxis, print out boarding passes etc. The service at the bar was a bit slow and the drinks not cheap but thats' […] no surprise in a city hotel bar. Rooms were lovely, nicely done up, luxurious bathroom but could have had brighter lighting/better placed lighting for doing make-up etc. Some of the girls did mention that they heard some noise from a nearby club but I heard nothing from my room so might depend on what side you're on. We didn't eat in the hotel so couldn't comment on the food but would def go back and would reccomend it to friends. The deal we got on Hotels.com was very good value for a city centre hotel but I'd look out for a deal again as the regular rates are a bit more steep. Les mer

No major complaints about this hotel. Good location, above average room space, clean and friendly staff. However, in line with new boutique trends in the industry, they seem understaffed/undertrained. The morning check-out rush found us 5 people queuing for one single person in charge of the Reception Desk (on arrival I had noticed the same situation). Excellent hotel. Very recently refurbished and very stylish. Good central location. Friendly, attentive staff. Very nice bar with live piano music on Saturday night (but not too loud). Best breakfast I've had in a long time. Not the cheapest hotel on a Saturday night, but certainly worth it.

stumbled across this hotel as my usual one was fully booked due to the Chelsea match taking place...im so glad I did book this hotel as although it was of similar price to my regular hotel...the standard of room / suite in this hotel was excellent. I checked in and the reception desk was quite busy, but i was soon checked in. on arrival at my room (411) […] i was extremely impressed as the room was actually a suite! nice living room with large flatscreen, safe, table and two chairs, large sofa and footstools. Bathroom extremely well appointed with twin sinks, monsoon shower, large bath and attractive dark mosaic tiles. bed was large kingsize and one of the most comfortable that i've ever slept in. air con also very good...a great hotel ! This hotel looks to be newly refurbished, the staff were extremely efficient and friendly. The rooms that we had (we were a party of 8 and had booked 4 rooms) were all comfortable, clean and modern. If I had one complaint it would be that we left the Hotel for a quick walk on the morning of our departure and when we returned to retrieve our bags and […] check out, we couldn't get back in the room ... but the cleaning staff were about, so they allowed us access ... but that really is "nit picking". This used to be the Princess on Portland and has undergone a major refurb by McDonald Hotels. Apart from the confusion over whether or not we were at the right hotel when we arrived as there was no clear signage for McDonald townhouse just the old Princess on Portland signs! Room was clean and very comfortable if a little on the small side. For a 4 […] star boutique hotel a double ended bath would have been nice rather than taps at one end. Staff were extremeley helpful. A special mention to the night porter who arranged a late check out after we arrived back at the hotel early in the morning after a night out on the town! That extra hour made all the difference. Would definetely return to this hotel. Les mer
