Veldig bra opphold! Rommet jeg fikk var av god hotell standard. Nytt, rent og nødvendige funksjoner. Litt lite rom, dersom man ønsker å tilbringe mer enn natten der. Veldig hyggelig vertskap. Frokost var både typisk engelsk, men også kornblandinger mm, for oss som er glad i det. Anbefales på det varmeste!

This hotel is in a very convenient location to all of the attractions of interest and literally across the street from the fabulous Castle Museum. I was travelling with two kids and the ability to have a double bed and a single in the same room was very convenient. We walked to the hotel from the train station (please don't do that) - it took us 50 […] minutes to drag our luggage across the cobbled streets only to find out it would have only cost us 5 pounds to take an 8 minute cab ride. (live and learn) The buffet breakfast offered by the hotel was superb and was included in the booking we made online. The only thing that was really annoying was that the rooms did not have WI-FI and we had to pay 5 pounds in their business center to use the internet for a couple of minutes so that we could print a groupon voucher. Beyond that... our stay was fine and we would recommend the hotel to others. Les mer
"The Hilton York- convenient central location"
Hotel was easy to find and in a great central location. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was of a superb standard in the hotel restaurant and great cocktails in the bar & grill located at the side of the hotel. The only negative was the room was dusty, it needed a good dust and hoover. Ideal hotel for a weekend getaway.

Chose Hilton as it had a weekend offer but also as its known for quality. York is a small town and location was walking distance to most main tourist sites, so much so it was opposite one of them! Breakfast had a great range and the staff are very welcoming.

Hilton York hotel is convenient location and a nice hotel however during our stay there was lots if noise / banging doors etc early hours of morning

Billed as a four star hotel, the York Hilton is in a fantastic location within the walls of this ancient city. We were using this as an overnight stay enroute to our final destination in Scotland and very much looking forward to spending a short time in York. The hotel room was fitted out in the usual Hilton style but badly needs updated - it had a […] very dated feel and as such, felt that it didn't justify the hefty price tag. We dined in the restaurant on our arrival - very disappointing. A rare steak was requested and still not delivered after two attempts (the same happened to some neighbouring diners). It was dealt with well by the waiting staff, but should not have happened in the first place. Overall, staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean but struggles to justify exorbitant rates. The staff could not have been more friendly, especially the lady who cooked our eggs in the morning. She was a delight. My husband, who used to stay in hotels frequently, says one of the things you can tell a good hotel by is the shower. Well our shower was not very good. We did have a bath as well and that was fine. All of the staff were really pleasant and friendly, especially Michael who greeted us for breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. I'd definitely stay there again. Lovely rooms and excellently placed for shopping, eating and drinking!

My wife and I spent two nights at this hotel and were very impressed with the hotel and all staff there. The hotel is ideally situated across the road from Clifford's Tower and the Castle Museum and is only a short stroll to the town centre with its numerous shops, restaurants and bars. I booked this hotel on a deal on Hotels.com and it was well worth the money. All of the staff were great, really friendly and helpful. It's always nice to have someone smile and say good morning to you every day! Location is fantastic, couldn't be better for all the sites of York and more to the point, all the bars!! Hotel is however very quiet at […] night and suitable for all types of groups, families and friends alike. The breakfast was good, every you could want and efficient ands friendly staff. I would definitely recommend to friends and family though it would benefit from some leisure facilities like a spa but great for the weekend in all other respects. Les mer
The hotel was very centrally located and we were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The staff were great and nothing was too much trouble. At breakfast, my little boy asked for hot chocolate and then thought he was in heaven when the waiter brought it to him!

I cant stress how perfect the whole experience was for us from Michael who parked our car on arrival to the lovely cheery lady who served our eggs at breakfast the next day. "Great location - but I expect better from Hilton!"
I was attending a week long course at the hotel. I booked through hotels.com and got a really good room rate. But....the central heating system in the room was very noisy, and disturbed my sleep every night - and I'm not a light sleeper. The rrom service food was over priced and not of a great standard. The hotel doesn't have any gym facilities. Housekeeping […] threw away food and drink items from my room on my final day before I had checked out. Utterly inappropriate behaviour. They should check that a guest has checked out before they remmove any personal items. Les mer

The hotel was excellent with a first class complimentary breakfast and, without exception, friendly and helpful staff. Our room was very comfortable. However, the view from our window was of the rear of neglected old buildings but that is nothing the hotel can fix. The hotel location is superbe for viewing York on foot. We did not eat our evening meals […] in the restaurant because there were too many other bistros and restaurants nearby but the menu looked good. Check in was good with room ready on arrival at 11:45. Central location meant that we could go back to hotel with any shopping rather than carry it around. Our room was on the second floor and on our third night we were awoken on three occasions, after 02:00, by people using a flat roof as a smoking and drinking area. At 05:00 I phoned reception and […] it stopped. As we were leaving I again noticed that smokers were out on this flat roof. The hotel need to address this issue on H and S grounds as the area has no hand rails, beside causing a nuisance to guests. Les mer

Hotel was located just by the castle and near the river. The gorgeous boutique shops of York were 5 minutes walk away, along with a huge selection of pubs and restaurants. I tend to think Hilton hotels are slightly overrated as a rule but was perfectly happy with the level of service we recieved and the condition of the room.
