Wyndham Baltimore Peabody Court - Baltimore

We enjoyed our stay at the Wyndom Peabody Court in Baltimore. The room was comfortable, staff were outstanding, and it was very quiet. Great location -- close to nearby colleges. Very comfortable room, but pillows were a little firm for my taste. Restaurant on site has a great happy hour. Valet service was prompt and friendly, but a little pricey.

This hotel is a new addition to the Wyndham roster, but it is a vestige of a former era. It occupies a 12-story, early 20th century (1928 to be exact), red brick block of a building with small, double-hung windows. It has been at least partially renovated but there are worn edges still apparent. We were in a double room which managed a standard double […] bed but wouldn't have held a queen or twin beds. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. It left enough room to move around but this room definitely wasn't "spacious." It was pleasantly quiet. Lighting was poor -- old bedside and floor lamps that look as though they date to the original furnishings. We had a refurbished bathroom of good size with lots of marble, a Jacuzzi tub with shower and a separate stall shower. Good lighting in the bathroom. Unfortunately the shower stall mechanism wasn't working. We were in Baltimore for a program at the Peabody Institute which is right around the corner, so the location in the Mt. Vernon Historic District was excellent for us and the primary reason we selected this hotel. It is also on the same block as the Walters Art Museum. It's a generous stroll down the hill to the Inner Harbor, and for most people a cab ride to Little Italy, Camden Yards, or other Baltimore sights. The restaurant, "Georges," is fine for very standard fare and not overpriced in the fashion of most hotel dining rooms. If a Mt. Vernon location is important, the hotel is perfectly acceptable, but it is not a standout, largely by virtue of its age. Les mer

cold shower. If you call downstairs they say "run the shower for 10 min" Only time it was hot was in the mid morning. Overall the room felt dirty. Missing light bulbs in closets and dusty dresser drawers. TV is tiny. Toilet was running and I had to open the tank and push down the flapper every time. Temp control system is old and inconsistent. Have stayed at Peabody Court as much as any other in Baltimore. Unless I am specially just visiting the Harbor area (which is in walking distance), the resonableness of pricing and the recent remodeling make this hotel a convenient and pleasant place to stay.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had our double bed room switched to a single king bed room due to an issue with the former room, so we were given free valet parking for the two nights, which was a great deal for us. Definitely would recommend.

I was very satisfied with my stay. I needed a hotel for the bar exam and this hotel was close to the site and proved to be a great place to stay; a nice quiet no frills place with courteous and accommodating staff. It's in a great location with convenient access to markets, restaurants and cafes in the Mount Vernon area. What's more you can get downtown […] and to the inner harbor by walking and it takes only 15 minutes to do so. Les mer

On our 3rd Hotel search of Baltimore we decided on the Wyndham. Didn't want to pay the prices and deal with the crowds in the Inner Harbor. Downtown hotels were not inviting. We were so glad to have found the Wyndham. It's north of the inner harbor in a quiet and nice residential neighborhood. Close by is Symphony Hall and other museums.Our room was […] exceptionally quiet and a nice size. The weekend we stayed there was a large arts festival 5 blocks from the hotel, wonderful. Hotel itself very nice. Staff pleasant and helpfull. A little further away from Camden than I expected but only a $8-10 cab ride or $1.60 by railway. Railway very convenient to/from BWI Airport. I was pleased with the hotel experience overall. They did give us a upgrade for our rooms and our rooms were spacious, clean and modern. The restaurant was very good as well having breakfast there one morning. The wi-fi left a lot to be desired. It took forever to log on and the signal strength was always slow.

Good location, however the first impression was no light in the room (the light bulb) was death, next day no hot water in the bathroom, the maintenance guy came and fix it only to have the same problem at 6:00 am two days later. Yes, everyone is friendly but it is an old building in need of good maintenance and TLC. The food in the restaurant is of […] low quality and no cheep. Beside I paid $32 a night for valet parking, the only form of parking available. So the good location does not compensate for the disappointing experience. Les mer

My husband and me really enjoyed our stay in Baltimore. We were celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary. The Wyndham Peabody Hotel was a nice change of pace. The room was a nice retreat after a day of sightseeing and shopping. The staff were very nice and cordial ("Thank you, Sean and Rodney"). The only problem was that our room was not cleaned for […] 2 days during our visit. The bed was made, but the bathroom was not cleaned and the floor was not vacuumed. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, it was rectified immediately. The only thing I would recommend is having a microwave in the room. We ate out most of the time we were there, but could not finish our entire meals. It would have been nice if we could have been able to heat up the leftovers to enjoy at a later time during our stay. Also, I would have liked to have had more than washcloth each day (I guess I could have requested this). This hotel was in the Mount Vernon district of Baltimore; within walking distance to the Inner Harbor and other great sightseeing opportunities. A week wasn't enough to take it all in. The price wasn't too bad for the time we stayed there. We were in a king suite. Parking was costly. $29/day is a lot. Too bad the parking wasn't included. Les mer

We were extremely happy with our stay at this hotel. The staff of the hotel was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were nice and comfortable, extremely clean. And you can't beat the location - very nice sites less than a block from the hotel. And it's only about a 20 minute walk from the Inner Harbor and Camden Yards, so it's just close enough and just […] far enough away. Our only minor complaints, and these were nothing that would keep us from staying there again, were that the hot water took quite a while to kick in when using the shower (over 5 minutes) and no blackout curtains in the room. Also, we liked George's, the bar/restaurant, but were surprised that they stopped serving food at 10pm and were closed by 11pm (we were there during the week-might be open later on weekends). It would've been nice to stop for a quick drink before calling it a night after getting back to the hotel but we couldn't after 11. Overall though, great hotel. Spacious, lovely rooms, and the hotel itself is gorgeous. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes visiting Baltimore and wants to be close to all the action but still in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Les mer

My family traveled to Baltimore by car to watch 3 baseball games at Camden Yards. We rented two rooms, mostly due to the excellent rates but also due to the look and feel of the neighborhood. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the outside attendants and the desk staff (Sean) were outstanding. Had a minor problem with the AC in one room, so we were […] moved. Second room was very nice. The bar was small but quaint. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Walked the neighborhood, many, many sights to visit. The Mt. Vernon area felt safe and the homes were magnificent. You must go to the Walters Museum, it's just down the block. My only complaint would be that the parking was too expensive, but hey, that's the city for you. Rode the light rail a few times and that worked out fine. The stop in only two blocks from the hotel. The hotel is next to the Washington Monument built by Maryland in honor of George Washington. Across the street is a park where they had concerts in the evening. The Charm City Cirulator stops one block away. The housekeeping staff seemed overworked but otherwise really enjoyed our stay.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I had to attend a convention and found this was a really nice place to stay. I enjoyed the restaurant and sometimes used room service which was great. Parking of course in this area is a problem but I found the valet parking service to be great. If I find I am coming to Baltimore again I will stay at the Wyndham Baltimore […] Peabody Court. The rooms were surprisingly spaciouswith a great historic feel. The location was a little far if you're planning on spending a lot of time in Inner Harbor. We liked it in the end, because it forced us to explore more of the historic district than we might have. We have three little kids that we were traveling with and it wasn't the most convenient hotel […] for pushing a stroller in and out, but otherwise the rooms were plenty big enough for cribs and there was a refrigerator and lots of storage space. It was a good experience, but I'd probably stay closer to Inner Harbor next time. Les mer

Wonderful hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Great location in a safe neighborhood with lots of restaurants, museums, etc nearby. Easy ride to BWI Airport -- about 25 minutes. Only drawback -- price of valet parking but that's typical in a big city hotel. Good size rooms, comfortable bed, marble bathroom and plenty of hot water. The hotel is a very nice historic building, but not at all "old" or outdated. Only one complaint was the room was not very sound proof to adjoining room. A small boutique hotel in the center af the Arts district. Phenomenal view of Washingtron Monument from my room. Friendly staff, good restaurant. Gay friendly, but not gay.

It is a great hotel, however, the room #607 we stayed had a motor running noise continuously 24 hours a day.

The wireless internet: it takes me 45min for a connection and still with very bad quality. The isolation is poor and there are always some noise from somewhere. The hotel staffs are friendly.

This hotel was pretty good. Staff mostly were very friendly, room was a good size and comfortable. The bathroom was very large and the towels are kept on a heated rack, so that was really nice. The only thing was the sheets I noticed were not too clean, and that turned me off a little bit. Also, no free continental breakfast- if you eat at that hotel […] you have to pay for it, so I wasn't crazy about that. But, it was close to everything and if you are coming from Penn Station or going to the Harbor the free City Circulator bus stops at this hotel and both of those stops so that's really convenient, and when I had to go other places they called a cab which came in seconds. They were really nice about letting me store my bags all day after I checked out, too. Anyway, I am not sure if I would stay there again- might want to try something else, but I would say I could recommend it- maybe my experience was different from others. Les mer

Beautiful hotel with very polite and helpful staff. I didn't encounter a single staff person who wasn't polite and friendly. The elevators can only be accessed by hotel guests with a pass card, which made me feel safer than most other hotels. The rooms were beautifully furnished and clean.

Nice place to stay, Comfortable and quiet. The room service breakfast was not very good, But otherwise it's a nice place.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was cozy and comfortable, if small. I did have trouble getting hot water the first day, fine the second, so maybe an issue of timing? The bathroom was very nice-- marble-- with noce touches like the heated towel rack! 2 blocks from the light rail! Interesting historic neighborhood.

Room was great, wasn't expecting anything ridiculous. Parking though was a huge hassle. The hotel charges $29 a night for valet service and all the street parking in the neighborhood is two-hour limit. However, a few blocks from the hotel is a city garage with better rates, but it fills up quickly. The parking situtation is worth it for the location […] though. When we checked out we were charged $46 from the George's (the hotel bar) for food we did not order. I brought it up to the desk, the staff was very helpful and refunded the money. Although, I do find it odd that something like that would happen, just make sure you check your statement before you leave! Les mer

The hotel staff were very polite and courteous. They were also very accomodating towards my needs especially when I was having wireless internet problems. Overall it was a pleasant stay with the room being clean and well-maintained, but especially because the staff were so wonderful.

I didn't get in til 11:30 p.m. Clerk asked me if I had eaten, and when I replied that I hadn't he was very helpful in providing menus for local food establishments that deliver late. Was much appreciated. Received quick check-in service with complimentary internet access. Room was clean, comfortable, and in order. Location of the hotel is in a very […] nice, clean, and well-lighted neighborhood. Only drawbacks is that there is no parking lot for the hotel's guests, (a common issue at many Baltimore hotels though) but for a fee the hotel staff will valet your car to a semi-secure local parking lot down the street. Other minor concern is that room toiletries were not replaced daily, and I ran low on soap and shampoo throughout the visit. Most hotels replace these items daily, but by no means was this a major deal. Les mer

This hotel is in a great safe place of the city! The surrounding area has a lot of Baltimore Historical culture within walking distance.

good locations. Convenient valet parking. Historic feel to the hotel. Huge bathrooms. Free Wifi. Only pitfall was a not so friendly front desk staff. They were not rude, but not friendly, and did not really explain where anything in the hotel (vending, restaurant, etc) was in the hotel. Overall good stay though.

It's not the most luxurious hotel, but it is an excellent value and is perfectly adequate. Spacious room and bathroom, comfy robes, quiet, beautiful views of Mount Vernon neighborhood.

If you are looking for close proximity to the Baltimore Convention Center this is not the place for you. On the plus side, the neighborhood is very nice and there are a lot of good restaurants. The neighborhood is not as creepy at night as the neighborhoods closer to the Convention Center at night. The condition of the room was a little funky, drawers […] didn't work, the refrigerator froze our food, the maid service was a little spotty. Overall the price was right though so even though imperfect I would consider a return visit. Les mer

Hotel was only three blocks from light rail service to BWI airport. I took the light rail service (for less than two dollars to travel between airport and hotel. The staff was extremely helpful. The hotel resturant which is named "George's" had great tasting food including a nightly comfort food special. Hotel room had a nice marble bathroom. The Hotel […] has been renovated and restored. Great for anyone who enjoys vintage looks in tip top condition with all modern conveniances, such as a large flat screen TY. Les mer

Parking cost me $ 57.30 for one night. There is no where else to park your vehicle.
