Fountain Beach Resort - Daytona Beach

We stayed here last year and this year the hotel has made improvements in the room. The room we had was very nice. The one area they need to update is the hallway carpet. It is stained and dirty. After checking in late at night, the next morning we discovered our microwave didn't work nor was the air conditioner. We told front desk when we went down. […] He said that we may have to move if air can't be fixed. This wasn't an option because everything was unpacked and refrigerator stocked. A new microwave was brought and air still not working. It wasn't an issue because it wasn't too hot and the ceiling fan worked fine. The housekeeper reset the button and it worked fine the day before we left. Funny how the maintenance man didn't fix it but the housekeeper did. We will stay there again next year because overall the hotel is nice, clean and has an awesome pool and tiki bar area with a great dj for entertainment. Les mer

Hotel was OK, you mainly pay for the location. Beds were hard and matress filty. No wonder they have plactic covers over them. Rest of the room was fairly clean. Glad it was just for one night. Hotel needs a facelift, music at the pool was very loud.

For the price we paid, the hotel was as good, if not better than expected. A one night stay turned into 2 nights, with no problem in extending the stay. The room was mostly updated, a small bathroom, but a kitchenette w/ fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, sink. The room was clean, and our balcony did lookout to the ocean. This was a horrible hotel I will Rated a 0 , from customer service to clean it was terrible they cut off the water while I was taking A shower didn't apologize and kept the water off for 6 hours , it won't ever stay there again or book anything thru hotels .com

I was very disappointed in the condition of the rooms at the "resort." I went to open the door to the balcony and the handle came off. The bed was hard as a rock. It was also very damp in the room. The closest beach front property to the Daytona Speedway. Easy drive to and from track. Older building with updated rooms. We asked for a nice room and we got one. The TV was over the top-55" Sony HD w/soundbar. We didn't watch much TV but, when we did it was very nice.

Older hotel . Large clean room,, Had a variety of utensils for cooking, eating. Not much pressure for the shower, have to stand under it, need non-skid in tub. Good for the money.

It was fine for a couple dudes going to the races at Daytona. It isn't the Ritz, but it served its purpose.

Hotel is very old and it needs a lot of renovations. Front desk was very pleasent, but accomodations are rough. At checkout our room key would not work, they gave us another room because they could get into our assigned room. Bathrooms seem to be remodeled, but the rest of the room is not. For the value and one night stay is was not too too bad.

We knew this was going to be just an "okay" place as we saw the pictures and the low price, which was fine since we were only going to be there a couple of days and basically just sleep at the hotel and not spend any time there. What we didn't know is that the room reaked of cigarettes the moment we opened the door. The bed, the pillows, everything […] smelled like cigarettes. It was gross! The place was indeed old and cheesy, but it looked like it had been cleaned. The tile floors, however, were greasy feeling and that gave the place a dirty feel. We checked out the next morning and cancelled our second night's stay. Maybe not all the rooms are that way, but we won't be taking another chance. I must say that when we called the hotels.com customer service, they were very helpful and promised to refund the second night. Les mer

The property is definitely older but, kept up very well. Very friendly and accomidating staff too! A terrific bargain with just the right location to enjoy all of the beach activities within walking distance and the serenity of the ocean from your balcony.

It was a last minute stop coming from Disney in Orlando. We called Hotel.com on the road and they found this Resort for us. Its not really a resort, its some older condos that are individual owned by people and managed by this place. It is pretty much renovated on the inside of the bathrooms,but everything else is older. It has a perfect on the beach […] location and right by the boardwalk. There are plenty of shops around and places to eat. The staff was very good and helped out with anything we needed. The only bad thing would be the internet service. I really dont understand why hotel, motels and resorts have poor internet service in there rooms. I have had this problem with several places I have stayed this year. I would stay again because of the location of being on the beach and there is a good bar on location as well. Les mer

i have to say i was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the hotel, location and the PRICE! great value for the money. i had a great room on the 6th floor with a million dollar ocean view with a south facing balcony. i can't wait to go back again.

Our room was just awful! The bed was hard as a rock, the lock on the door was broken, the peep-hole was backward so anyone in the hallway could see in, the toilet was broken, the window screen was broken, the door would barely close, and we could hear conversations, people walking, etc from the rooms on either side of us as well as above us. It was […] a really bad weekend. My mother and I got very little sleep and we did not feel safe at all!!! Les mer

EVERYTHING WAS GREAT, THE ONLY TROUBLE WAS THE BED WAS LIKE A ROCK

Was noit happy with the room (321)..The tv kept blacking out ...the carpets were dirty, the shower curtain and rod need to be replaced. The balcony had cigarrette butts on it. I paid 10.00 more for an oceanfront room, every room in the place has a partial oceanfront view....complete ripoff. Would ask to see the room befor I ever stayed there again

The only negative for this hotel/condo was the roach that appeared in the drawer with the eating utensils. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean.

For an older hotel on the beach it was fine. Clean. Small elevators. Excellent bucket drinks at the Tiki Bar.

Pros: Directly on ocean. Walking distance to boardwalk, pier, restaurants, etc. Cute room. Size and decor was perfect (2 adults, 1 small child). Had frig, micowave, toaster oven, coffee pot, balcony. Some non oceanview rooms do have a corner view of ocean/pool area. Liked tiki bar food, drinks, and pool area. Actual toilet/shower area is small but wasn't […] an issue because the sink/vanity area is outside of it with plenty of space to get ready. Cons: pool could have been cleaner, older hotel so rooms and pool could be updated, beds are horribly hard...after 2 nights stay needed a lot of tylenol for my back. Les mer

This wasn’t the worst place I have ever stayed but it certainty wasn’t the best either. I arrived a little before check in and my room wasn’t ready, but they let us use the pool while we waited. The pool, bar and entertainment were very nice. I went back to check on my room again and it was ready.. So I went up to see it. It was HORRIBLE (rm 631)! I […] understand that each room is decorated differently but this was seriously BAD! It was little more than 2 hard beds with old dirty bedding and a 15" TV from the 90s. The deadbolt on the door was hanging off and wouldn’t lock. I am a single woman staying alone with my 10 year old son. This was not going to work for me. It didn’t feel safe at all! I went back down to the front desk; I explained and asked for a new room. At first they told me that the hotel was completely booked for the night. Then they said there was one room left in the whole hotel. I asked if I could look at it and they let me. This room was MUCH nicer and cleaner (rm 410), so I switched to this room. The other thing I wasn’t happy about was the view. When I booked my room I had the option of City View or Ocean View. I paid the higher price for the ocean view.. After seeing the view from a few different rooms, I couldn’t tell the difference, The way the hotel is situated it looks like the view is pretty much the same regardless of the room you are in. I wish I hadn’t paid for the better view, It wasn’t worth it. Les mer

The hotel was very nice and clean. Our rooms were spacious (other than a small bathroom) and well maintained. The pool was very nice and the tiki bar and live music was great.

We enjoyed our stay at Fountain Beach resort. It has a great view, great scenery, and is close to attractions. It is very clean.

for the price didnt expect such a great deal, but it turned out to be great. staff was totally courteous, rooms were clean and well stocked with personal hygeine items even hough we brought our own. room was cleaned daily and for the price you cannot do any better...we will definitely stay again!

We had a awesome stay, everyone was so nice, the veiw was beautiful. For what we paid for the week it was worth every penny, we even stayed a extra day. We would go back, the only thing that wasn't the best was the bed it was not very comfortble, but other than that it was a awesome stay and trip........ Good for a night but not for long term or a week staying. Beds are harder that rocks. overall, OK

I wasa little nervous after reading other reviews but was pleasantly surprised! Our room was imaculant an we had a great view. The building is older but well kept, the tiki bar had good specials but crappy bartenders.

Location, amenities , value, all good. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Enjoyed my short stay. If I'm in Daytona again, will definitely consider staying here.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was very courteous. Loved the Tiki Bar and the deejay at the pool. The food served at the Tiki Bar was, also, good. Close to Main Street Pier, and an easy walk to bars on Main Street. Would definately consider staying there again.

Let's start at the beginning. When I arrived I found the lobby to be in great shape. I learned quickly that the room are actually individually owned. The staff on site does the upkeep but the owner of the room is responsible for providing the furniture and accessories. That lead to the first problem which I will discuss in a few but first there is a […] rating system from 2-5 that the staff puts on each room. They "rent" out the rooms with a 5 before moving down. I was assured I was getting a 5. If I really got a 5 I would hate to see a 2 or 3. Now to the problems with the owner providing the furniture, the beds was so worn out I could feel the springs through the mattress. The 2 pillows provided on each bed were actually just as thin as my laptop!! I killed 2 cockroaches in the batheroom within the first 20 minutes in the room however, I did not see one the rest of the trip (2 total days). Now for issues with the staff. At 2pm on the 2nd day I had to request maid service. What i got was one of the 2 beds made and fresh towels. While they advertise free Wifi you only seem to get connected in the lobby. While I was frustrated that I couldnt get internet in my room the staff seemed more annoyed that I mentioned the issue rather than being sympathetic or even apologizing for the lack of internet. This is obviously an ongoing issue since a 3rd party company is selling wifi in their hotel for $5 a day which requires you to give some random internet company your credit card information. No thanks I wasnt heading down that road.. Never again will I stay here. Les mer

The hotel was nasty, patches in the wall, hard mattresses, stunk and most of all a balcony without any chairs! Not worth the money spent

We had a great time. The hotel was very nice and the people were great. The DJ was awesome and the Oasis bar was fun. The only downside is they have the breakfast police that sits there and watches you to make sure you do not eat more than your fair share of cereal and bagels.

This hotel was perfect for what we were looking for. Great price, great location.

Close to almost everything, pier,beach,resturants,boardwalk. Hot tub and pool was great after a dip in the surf. However the pool and tub closed to early at 9 pm. We`ll be back.

The hotel is nothing fancy but the rooms are clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The outdoor pool and tiki bar area was great. Live DJ during the day with a lot of fun. It was quite at night which was great for resting. The only two complaints I have are the water pressure for the shower. You could never get it right - either too hot or too […] cold. That was very frustrating. Also, the air conditioner unit in the room was quite noisey so it was hard to get to sleep first couple of nights. Les mer

When we got to the hotel the room I booked was not the room they gave me, I needed a stove ans freg, and the room they tryed to give me had a small freg and no stove and it needed to sleep 5 we had to change rooms after two nights not good

Nice friendly staff. Great room with a view. Slow elevators but onyl 6 floors so many people took the stairs. Entertaining to sit by the pool with the Tiki Bar. Nice specials.

The rooms in this hotel are privately owned condos I think, they have a very home-like feel, which doesn't make it seem old. I didn't spend much time in the room but I had a small kitchenette, two beds, balcony, sitting area it was adorable. The hallways could use some extra maintenance and freshing up but other than that I had a lovely stay. The staff […] at the tiki bar were very friendly and the music was great :) A hotel right on the beach and just down from the pier was nice because it's close enough to walk to from all the bars, restaurants and shopping and yet far enough away where you can sit out on the beach in peace. The hotel was conveniently located near the ocean and the boardwalk area, which was great. And I did like the outdoor bar area and the DJ on staff was playing great music while sitting out on the patio. But the hotel was old and needed to be remodeled. The coffee maker in our room was broke, leaked water and we requested a replacement but never received […] one. And the old and busted iron, that we had to request from the front desk, in which they claimed if we didn't return to the front desk, they would charge us $25. And the darn thing was cracked and leaked water as well. The carpet in the hallway was old and filthy looking and the parking area was dirty, so it gave me the creeps. Les mer

The staff was very welcoming. However when I walked into my room The second bed was completely sunk in in the middle. There was no way anyone could sleep in that bed or even sit on it. At first they told me that they were completely full and then the guy said all they had was suite with 1 bed and a let out couch. I took it because there was no way we […] could sleep in the sunkin bed in the original room. When we went to our supose to be suite it was clean but extremly old and beat down. The door to the patio did not close securly. Only the top lock worked. The door knob turns completly around. The curtains were not wide enough to cover the entire window. The bedding on the bed and the futon was old and dingy. The refridgerator would only get luke cold. They did not control there parking lot. people who stayed there had to keep riding and wait to get a park because local beach vistors were all parked there. My car rental got dented. The elevator are very old. the numbers don't show you what floor your on.The safe did not work. I really just did not feel safe in this hotel at all. The place is extremly rundown as if the owner does not care at all about comforablity or safety of his guess at all. If the hotel is full It appears his just pocketing the money for himself and not putting any into his hotel at all. The only good thing is that it's right on the beach.
