Enkelt og bra hotell i Europeisk stil (les: litt shabby), meget sentralt. Hyggelig betjening, rent og ikke spesielt lytt. Veldig bra valuta for pengene. Anbefales!

Hotellet ligger meget sentralt til med kort vei til det meste. Komfortabelt, rent og god service. Gratis vinsmaking og nakkemassasje ved siden av resepsjonen fra 17-18 (meget praktisk etter en hektisk dag med sightseeing og shopping). :-)

Et fint og rent hotell med hyggelige ansatte. Ingenting negativt å si om hotellet, men nabolaget har en del uteliggere i noen kvartaler ned mot sentrum. Opplevde derimot ikke noe ubehagelig. Det er også svært kort vei ned til sentrumsområdet og Market street, og taxi er veldig billig slik at man slipper å gå på kveldstid. Fint hotell i forhold til hvor billig det var!

Rommet var alltid rent og det var lite/ingen støy fra gata (men vi bodde mot bakgården i syvende etasje). Frokosten (gratis) bestod av rista loff og "gummi"syltetøy, ikke sats på det (det er billig å spise ute). Personalet bærer preg av at gjestene skiftes ut ofte, så de er ikke veldig opptatt av å være oppmerksomme. Men de hjelper deg gjerne hvis det […] er noe (transport, kart, lengre utsjekking, fikse toalettet etc.). Hotellet ligger midt i smørøyet med kort gå avstand til shoppingsentere, pierene og kjente locations. "Hotellet for den med god tid"
Hotellet ligger sentral og fint til og det er vel stort sett det dette hotellet har å tilby. Servicen er så som så. Det er såvidt folkene i resepsjonen gidder ofre deg et blikk. Ble stort sett møtt med en gjesp og et blikk andre veien. Parkeringen er dyr, 25 usd pr. døgn for valet parking. For den prisen forventer du at bilen kommer når du trenger […] den - men neida, her tar det minimum 20 minutter å få bilen tilbake. Når du skal ut og bor over 2 etg. må du bruke heisen, og denne er til gjengjeld utrolig treig. Vi brukte rundt minutttet til 7. etg. Til sammenligning så bringer heisen i Willis tower deg til 103. etg. på samme tiden. Internetten som tilbys koster penger (10 usd pr. natt) og er i tilegg så godt som ubrukelig til alt annet en mail i tekstformat. Oppsumert er dette et hotell for deg som ikke bryr deg om service, har god tid og reiser på budsjett. Les mer

"Billig og greit"
Hotellet er gammelt, rommene trange og ekstra service eksisterer ikke. Til gjengjeld er rommene rene, og alt var uproblematisk. Anbefales på det sterkeste for de som ønsker en billig og god overnattingsplass uten noen form for luksus.

"Clean, Comfortable and convenient"
Although the room was the smallest I've ever stayed in, it was clean and suffient. The location was excellent as it is on the trolley line and only couple of blocks away from the BART station.

Clean rooms, comfy beds and a basic breakfast - all you need for the price (very tasteful decore too). Only issue was lack of space to put suitcases, but we worked around that and hardly spent any time in the room anyway.We had a nice high room at the front so we could see the action in the street below but weren't too disturbed by the late night "ding […] ding" of the trolley cars. "good location if you are w/o a car"
Just in the middle of the city. If you are with a car, you will pay 27$ a day for parking.... the rooms are quiet small. The front desk people were very helful and friendly. The hotel is well located and in overall it is nice hotel

Great location for shopping and cable car. The cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. The reception desk is excellent. Lift is slow Room is small but thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. I caught BART from the airport and once I arrived at my stop it was only minutes walk to the hotel.

This hotel was so personable. Elisa the front desk lady and the other staff were very friendly. My room was small but the clean sheets and cute decor made up for it. Although the hotel is on a busy street, it was not noisy at all. I'd definitely stay here again!

after reading the reviews earlier I expected to be in very small quarters but the room size is not that bad. My family of 4 stayed in a double/double. It's not a large spacious room with lots of furniture but definitely comfortable unless you are a family of large people. The bathroom looked like it was newly renovated and the beds were firm. Our room […] face powell street so we could watch the trolley's. It can be loud if there is an event going on that night( we were there for St. Patrick's day and it was noisey) but the trolley sounds were fine. this is definitley an older hotel, but the rooms were very clean and basic. The location was great, right in the middle of all the union square action. I wouldn't stay at this hotel if your looking for the romantic lunch tea time or for the breakfast, but for a quick getaway to the city, you can't go wrong.

The Stratford Hotel in Union Square is extremely well located, close to the center of the city where you can grab public transportation everywhere. this hotel is in a prime location close to shopping and restaurants. The staff was great. The only drawback was that the rooms are extremely small and there was no control over the temperature in the room. We were very uncomfortable because it was too warm.

We arrived at Stratford Hotel after a long international flight, but were told we would not be able to check in at 3:00 because of a computer problem. We finally got into our room at about 4:30. "Stratford Hotel"
Very old. Very small queen room, open the door & the bed is about 4" away. Window looked out to a brick wall. No a/c had the window open at night & it rained there was a piece of sheet metal & when the rain hit it sounded like steel drums at 3 a.m. not what I wanted to hear. The wall our headboard was on the stairs were behind it. Elevator very slow […] so everyone was taking the stairs. We complained & did get moved to a suit. Bedroom was the same & looked out on the same brick wall, but there was a living room that looked out onto Powell st. was nice & big with a fridge, and a/c in the bedroom. Would not stay here again. We were really pleased with this hotel the location was ideal, right in down town, and they have free breakfast. Rooms were small but spotless, save money for enjoying San Francisco and sleep right in the center of all the action for a reasonable price.

We liked this hotel a lot. It's located in the middle of a very fun and busy neighborhood and only a ten minute walk from the convention center. The rooms were small but clean. Good wifi too. The only thing I didn't like was the shower. It is tiny and has a flow-restricting shower head that barely gets you wet. Other than that, it's great!

We booked for two nights and stayed for another four! We so enjoyed our stay at the Stratford Hotel in San Fransisco. It is so central to everything, the cable car line right at the door, excellent eateries, coffee shops, cinema - we could not believe our luck in hitting on the Stratford as an online booking, completely ignorant of San Fransisco.The […] tariff not only included breakfast, but they offered afternoon tea as well - how much fun is that! My friend and I decided to go to San Francisco for a weekend of touristy sight seeing and we decided to stay at the stratford. We did not realize what a great location it was in. The cable cars run right in front of the hotel, which was really convenient. The rooms were very clean and the towels were nice and fluffy. Beds were not as comfortable as […] the Hilton or Marriott but still pretty good! Loved the oldness of the hotel, it was like going back in time. Elevator was a little slow.....oh well. Shared a great pre-Christmas weekend in the city. The Stratford was exactly what I had hoped: a very affordable, clean, comfortable hotel right off Union Square.

This was a great, basic place to stay. It had a small, clean, cozy room and bathroom, which was great because all we did was shower and sleep there. We were a little confused about the radiator though, so it was either really warm or cold with the window open. Not a big problem though. Great location... Plenty of late night places to eat across the […] street and on the surrounding blocks, a few blocks away from the cable car ticket booth, Muni, and BART stations, plenty of bars and shopping all within walking distance. Our only 2 bad experiences where having our card charged twice; which they gladly refunded with CASH, brought to our room, and the shock of a $145 valet bill at the end of our weekend. Our Yukon was considered oversized, for an extra charge, and they also added tax daily to our tab. We ended up paying double for parking there. I'd recommend looking for parking elsewhere, as we only used our vehicle once. We had a wonderful time and spent the whole weekend sightseeing and enjoying the surrounding area. Hotel was located right around the corner from Union Square! Even though this is an older hotel, the rooms were okay for the price you pay ... they even offered an Afternoon Tea ... which was really just biscotti and coffee/tea, but still nice. Staff was helpful and friendly.
