We wouldn't have changed a thing. The pool and breakfast were excellent, and my wife and I really liked that check-out was at noon on Sunday....an extra hour makes a big difference with two young children!

My stay here was horrible. They chose to have a teenage MC-tournament or party of some kind the weekend I was there. The party got extremely out of hand in where cops had to be called. I had to stand in front of the window in my room at 1:30am to make sure that the squirm of kids surrounding my car were not going to damage it. Springhill Suites Elmhurst was a great place to stay. We were travelling with four children in tow on short notice for NYE and needed a decent suite. The bedding for the hide-a-bed left a lot to be desired (i.e. no fitted sheet, ancient blanket). The staff were very accommodating and patient with all of the guests. The breakfast on New Year's Day was […] phenomenal! Great tasting hot items and a full compliment of the normal Continental fare. Fresh fruit, CLEAN waffle irons that were accompanied by two types of waffle batter. This hotel is a little difficult to get to from Chicago proper. GPS sent us through a neighborhood. I looked at the overall map and it turns out that is the best way to go. Don't think you're being sent on a wild goose chase, you'll get there. This hotel is about 30 minutes from downtown Chicago in average traffic so that was the only down side for us. However, the price and service were right on the mark. Would stay here again! Les mer

The breakfast was included...and it was surprising to see so many people there, since we really didn't hear anything all night! People were friendly. We had a good time and were happy with the comfort of the beds and the availability of a fridge and a microwave in the room. We were also pleased that the complimentary toiletries were high end and found the expanded double room clean and comfortably sized for a family of four. We would have been about 20 minutes from downtown Chicago if it were not […] for traffic and the hotel is very close to the highway. It was nice to stay here where parking was free rather than paying to park in the city. Plus we seemed to always get a really great spot. The breakfast was a pretty decent buffet and we were able to try something different each day of our three day stay. My only complaint is that the hotel rents the pool out for swim lessons. We were confronted with a very large class that took up the whole pool and kept coming and going letting in a draft from outside forcing us to give up our swim, which disappointed our kids. Les mer

Going cross country we decided to stay a few days in Chicago. Discovered that my hotel choice was 20 miles from Lake Shore Dr in Chicago. Just didn't look that far on the map! When I mentioned this at the front desk, they reminded me our costs would be double in the city. Plus we didn't have to pay to park on site. A wonderful free breakfast, free wi-fi, […] nice indoor pool, and our large semi-separated room are this hotel's best qualities. Also there is a conveniently close and cute shopping/dining area in Elmhurst proper. A TINY bathroom, hard bed, and the distance from Chicago are qualities which were somewhat disappointing. Les mer

I rented 2 suites for fie nights for our family of four, Although I requested 2 interconnecting rooms for extra convenience prior to our travelling day. And our request was fed in the systemy. However upon arrival we were told that such suites are not available. Then by talking to the manager she said that on the next day we"ll be moved to the adjacent […] suite to my kids. Next day the receptionest told us that the adjacent suite will be vacant and we can move upon checkout of the person who was occupying it. After a few minutes she rang us and told us that she made a mistake and the suite will not be given to us. By complaining again to the manager by e-mail, which bounced back and re-emailed after two days, We were given the suite the day before our checkout date with her appologies for what happened although she had given authorisation to her assisstance on the first day of arrival. We did move and the manager was nice enough to grant us late checkout on the day of departure for no extra cost to which we are pleased. The questions that need answer is How can such thing happen when we could see that it is not a peak time? Les mer

The hotel was great overall and located nicely to downtown (especially at the price). My only issues were that it was a bit dark in the shower adn the iron leaked water all over. Other than that the overall cleanliness was great, the breakfast was typical and the staff was friendly and efficient. We had a wonderful time here. The staff is exceptional--enjoyably helpful and courteous at all times. The pool was nice (we have a 3 and a 2 year old). Breakfast was good with waffles, a selection of sweets, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, fruit, milk, juice, and coffee. The room was nicely arranged so our family of four could move around and play without […] bumping into things all the time. The only thing we found needed work was the trolley we brought our bags in on. It was very wobbly and it leaned over so far when you pushed it that I think the top of the trolley arrived in our room about 2 minutes before the bottom. :o) But, truly, it was no big deal and we loved our time here. We'll definitely stay here again when we're back in Chicago. (Oh, also, the restaurant across the street provides their room service. The food was good--not great, but good--and it was very plentiful for the price.) Les mer

Our room was absolutely fantastic! Loved the comfortable beds and was able to sleep like a baby. Breakfast was a great selection of foods: yogurts, fruits, bagels, waffles, eggs, sausage, ect. Only bad thing: Swimming pool was freezing cold!!!

We booked this hotel for our Chicago stay in late August and was overall very satisfied with the hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean and we liked the kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave. Great for family stay as we had 2 double beds plus sofa bed. Swimming pool and free breakfast big plus. The hotel is about 30 min drive from Chicago so […] keep that in mind if you only want to spend time in downtown Chicago. We took the train but you need to get a shuttle to the station and back as you cannot walk. The neighboorhood does not offer any close by shopping etc.The only restaurant close by is a diner but it was good. Good location - you can walk/ drive/ take a shuttle to downtown Elmhurst and get the train to Chicago from there. Room was large and convinient, had a great time!

Great location! Room was musty and caused our kid's allergies to really kick in. Beds were not comfortable and felt like we were sleeping on an angle. Breakfast was included and selection not bad.

We came to the hotel as a group for my girl scout troop, to stay at before visiting The Shedd Aquarium the next day. We were very pleased with the customer service, cleanliness of the hotel and the continential breakfast. The only thing I have to complain about was that we had to share the pool with a swim class, and it was under their direction "where" […] we could swim. Loved it. We Stayed in a Springhill Suites in Hershey, PA and thought it was awesome so when we needed another reasonably priced hotel for our family I didn't even look at other hotels. Straight to Springhill Suites. Lobby was nice and deco. Rooms and elevators were cleaned promptly. We went down for breakfast one morning and when we came back our beds […] were already made. This room is spacious enough that when my little had a cupcake and was bouncing off the walls the other two kids ,myself and my husband could all watch comfortably from afar. Only stayed two nights this time. For longer stays would get connecting rooms (we still have a little one who needs naps and an earlier bedtime) Because the price is reasonable this is an affordable option. This is not really close to Chicago if you're looking to be going in and out of the city. Really close to cute area with big needs--grocery, and little needs-CVS. Also close to individual shops were you can park your car and walk. Not the city, definitely the burbs Les mer

I didn't get a chance to swim, so I don't know about the pool, but every thing else was great. Very clean, comfortable room. Staff was very accommodating. The only bad thing was the internet connection was lost for a few hours after a storm. I have stayed repeatedly at this hotel over the past three years. This is the first time I have been disappointed. Both our room and that of our relatives' were very smelly. They had a musty mildew type of smell each time we entered the room. It did not make it very appealing to want to sleep in these rooms. The breakfast area is out of control. Just […] too small a space for all the people trying to get breakfast. The space needs to be reconfigured so there is more room for people to get food and not be such a narrow aisle to get to food. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staffs were friendly and more than helpful. The free brreakfast was good with variety. The room was cozy and clean. We will definitely return to this hotel in future visits. For those looking for a hotel that caters to families this would be the one. There are no hidden fees and no extra person charges.

We were staying for a vacation in the Chicago area and were very pleased with the hotel. The staff were very helpful about giving directions to the subway and avoiding the traffic on the interstates. The only thing I would have liked to see was a hot tub.
