"The Homestead in Durham North Carolina"
Even though the hotel is kind of out of date I must say it was very clean. The bed were very uncomfortable but I guess that is what I expected. My boyfriend and I was there for only one night so it was okay for what the price was. I must say I do love the kitchen in the rooms and they were very clean as well. For the price it couldn't be beat. I appreciated the convenience of a fridge, stove, and microwave. My only issue was that the bathroom was large, but the shower was small. Great value for an extended visit to family.

At a cheap rate, I was not disapointed. I knew going in at this rate the beds would be a little lumpy and the carpet may have a stain or two. All in all the room was clean and odor free.

Walking distance to resturants and shopping. Bring your hair dryer and toiletries with you. Enjoyed the full frig and microwave with the grandbaby. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. I staff there every visit to Durham. Close to family.

I have stayed at this hotel whenever I go to Durham which is about once a month. However the last few times that I have been here, I have been very disapointed with the quality of the rooms. this trip I asked for a "NON SMOKING" room, when I got in the room, it smelled like a bar that had been smoked in, the towels smelled of smoke. Our room was not clean at all. There was a ring in the toilet, hair and mold in the bathtub. The worst thing was dried up green snot on the white sheets. I was very unhappy to say the least. I will never stay with homestead again.

The service was great, the location was further than where I wanted it to be, I had reserved a room at one place and they gave me a different place, further out, but overall it was good

This is an ok place if you just need crash for a few hours. I was inbetween flights and this was good for a few hours of shut eye.

My family member was stuck outside for 30 minutes (1:15am- 1:45 on 5/1) until I could hurriedly make arrangements to get another hotel. My calls to hotel in addition to the phone outside the check-out office kept ringing with no one around to assist. Hotels.com even tried to no avail! I arrived exhausted and cold. The staff greeted me with courtesy and sent me to my room within minutes. They had already turned the heat on (it was 23 degress at that time) and called within minutes to see if there was anything else I needed. "Not what I expected"
When we checked in the gentlemen who helped us was very nice and helpful. Once in the room everything appeared to be okay. Then we noticed all the issues with the room. The bathroom tile had mold, the sink did not appear to be clean and there wasn't any toilet paper. This room was upstairs and we wanted to change to a downstairs room. That room wasn't […] much better. The dishes were not clean, there was still oil and food stuck on them. Tile in the bathroom had mold. The bed sheets had hair all over them and the pillows were lumpy and hard. We got 3 TV remotes before one worked. The tiny bar of soap is a joke. If all you need is a place to sleep before getting back on the highway, Homestead Durham Research Triangle Park serves its purpose. The lady who checked me in was pleasant and helpful. There is a nice plus in that there is a refrigerator and freezer as well as a two-burner stove top, but that is it. (Fridge leaks, but that is a specific complaint about […] that one item in that one room.) Towels are small and scratchy and shampoo is not provided - something the website also fails to mention. Clearly this is an old property that has been maintained as much as it has to be. I did not get a sense of cleanliness. Upon check-in, I discovered my room had no remote for the TV nor a telephone. I had to return to the building where I checked in to use the phone attached to the outside of the building to call the on-call staff person, who arrived shortly to give me the missing items. Les mer
