Anaheim Express Inn - Anaheim

The hotel did some kind of lacquer refinishing and the smell from it made us all sick. We could NOT stay for the second night which we had already paid for and they offered us no refund at all for a problem THEY created.

Fairly average, i guess.... Our room was "cleaned" while we were gone during the day, but only one of the two beds had been made up. They left us new washcloths and towels, but obviously didn't touch anything else. The continental breakfast is juice, coffee, toast, and mini cinnamon rolls - pretty lame, but better than nothing i guess. Front desk staff […] not super friendly, either. But we had a place to sleep, and it was close to the ART shuttle. Oh, and the pool was sufficient. Les mer

We arrived late at night and would be leaving early the next morning to visit Disneyland. When I went to check in, the young lady at the front was rude and tried to charge us extra because one of my children was over 5. After discussing with her about the "shuttle service to Disneyland" being on the website, but yet they didn't have shuttle service […] and I would have to pay for that now, she let the extra charge slide (but was very rude about it). The bed was very comfortable, but I had to wake up to a luke warm/cold water. My children had to take a bath after being on the road for the day. They were freezing after their quick bath. The price was great and we were right down the street from Disneyland. But if you want to skip surprise charges, rude receptionist, and cold water, don't book here. Les mer

The employee's were not kind and I had to battle to get my deposit back. They couldn't find the envelop they put it in. The night guy was more interested in the internet that checking me in. My feet were gray after walking on the carpet in the room. Had to beg for room cleaning then they forgot the towels and wash rags. Never got soap or shampoo so […] had to go to the store for a bar of soap. Location is close to Dland. Wont stay there again. Les mer

This by far was the filthiest hotel room we have ever stayed in. We got back at 5pm from Disneyland for a quick change and our room had not been cleaned. We complained and told the housekeeper we would be leaving in 20 min. so she could come in and clean and she left for the night! I would not recommend this hotel to board my dogs in. The one bed was […] broken. The continental breakfast was also the worst we have ever experienced. There are so many hotels/motels in the area so do not choose this hotel. Les mer

Room was old and smelled of mildew

I have never stayed at a more disgusting hotel. After finding crumbs in my bed and hair on a bath towel, my daughter and I changed rooms. The new room was just as dingy, but seemed to be clean. I took pictures of the peeled off wallpaper in two spots in the bathroom and one in the sink area in our new room. The tub stains were gross. The "breakfast" […] was minimal. The room smelled of burnt toast because anyone who used the toaster got burnt toast. I asked for water and they said they didn't have any. Before I made the reservation I called this particular Anaheim Express Hotel and asked if there was a shuttle to Disneyland. They said, yes they did shuttle people to Disneyland. I saw a shuttle bus there when we arrived. When I asked about the shuttle, they said they hadn't used a shuttle in over six months, but we could take the public bus. While I was in the check-in room, two separate people came in and complained of lack of towels and a dirty room. This was a terrible experience and really traumatized my daughter. I would have changed hotels, but it was spring break and nothing was available. I give this hotel a big fat 0! Les mer

my family and i stayed @ the Anaheim express inn. the room was smelly and so were t\ towels. when we got back our room had not been cleaned, ad this was @10 pm @night. there was no shampoo and just one tiny bar of soap for all 4 of us. my family and i went all the way from Denver Co. we plan on going back to Anaheim next spring, but no way in HELL will […] we stay in that dump it is awful in that hotel.we left one day early because we could not stand to stay another night in that filth. we do not recommend this hotel to no one.... My stay was so so.... Just needed a place to sleep, my rom floors felt dirty .Would not recommended using the pool it was very dirty. probably would not book this hotel again.

Room in need of deep cleaning and paint. "Continental Breakfast" consisted of coffee, packets of powdered creamer/sugar, mini muffins , sliced white and wheat bread along with tub of margarine and apple juice. Coffee maker in room with 1 packet of coffee....we asked for another packet of coffee day 2 and were told only 1 per entire stay! Hot tub too […] dirty to enter. Had to change my room 3 times in 3 days. Room 1 had a broken safe. Room 2 had a deteriorating shower insert and no hot water. Room 3 was okay. The overall condition of this hotel is poor. It needs a plumbing over-haul. It did appear to have new carpet and good bedspreads in 2 of the 3 rooms. The third room had a worn/faded Mickey Mouse spread. Mattresses […] in all rooms were soft and broken down, in need of replacement. The staff was nice but have nothing to work with. The continental breakfast is only coffee and mini-muffins. Nothing more. No fruit, no juice, no yogurt or cereal. If you have a choice, don't stay here. Les mer

This was the filthiest, most disgusting place that obviously has not been cleaned or fumigated in years. Bed bug running across the sheets, tub gross, everything stinks. They charge tax and ask for a deposit you don't see until later. I would not go barefoot in the room or in the shower. Nothing but trash emptied when staying for 3 days. There was no trash can, half a roll of toilet paper. No tissues. The water in the shower was ice cold. There was no chair for the desk. The buttons on the air conditioner were broken. The curtain was falling down. There were holes in the blanket. The cable didn't work. We only got a few channels. Seemed like a dive honestly. Checking in would have been far easier had I spoken Vietnamese (or whatever they were). They hold $100 on your credit card until you check out so if you're counting on that $$ to spend, forget it. We checked out Sunday and still haven't seen the "release" of those funds. The beds were HORRIBLE - hard as a rock, clearly 20+ […] years old. The room provided ONLY a bar of soap and shampoo. The shower rod was just about to come down, was angled such that the curtain could not be fully closed on either end...just kept sliding to the middle of the bar. Curtain was also ripped in several places, including one loop that no longer hung onto the bar. Tub/Shower knob was broken, hubby had to rig it so that it would work and provide some assemblance of pressure. Shower head was not positioned high enough for a 5'10 person so we had to practically back-bend to wash our hair. TV "cable" was grainy on every channel. Still old tube TVs. Ironing board was missing the cover so one wouldn't have been able to use it if they wanted. Grounds appear to be fairly neglected. They had pics of their pool & hot tub online....I think they used magic lenses b/c the pool and hot tub combined could not have been much bigger than our room. And the "heated" pool was about 60 degrees, the "hot" tub was MAYBE 80 degrees. Not returning to this place unless we are again desperate to save $$ and have no intention of being IN the room for any length of time other than to sleep. Overall impression? A 60yr old+ dive. can not be happier about the price and level of service of this hotel. the staff was very nice and the hotel offered breakfast and a shuttle to and from disneyland. We were very happy with our stay

Anaheim Express Inn is a really good hotel. It's comfortable and has great location... around 3 - 4 blocks from Disneyland Resorts, you can actually go by walk.

The location of the hotel is good but the service is very poor I would not go back there again. Also the beds are so small, room and bath not so clean, overall bad service. Abner

First night we checked in, the bed broke and it took the 'maintenance guy' 20 minutes to fix the bed after he LAUGHED when we told him that the bed broke just by sitting on it! The 2nd day we allowed them to come in and fix the shoddy bed frame while we were gone. That same night it fell off the frame again and we decided to take the frame off and put […] the box spring and mattress directly on the floor. The shower was NEVER hot!! It went from lukewarm to PRISON COLD without warning!! The faucet ran SUPER HOT and never cold which was extremely frustrating and confusing! Who wants to wash their hands while possibly scalding their flesh off their hands?? The carpet felt greasy to the touch of our feet which meant we never walked around bare foot! The worst part about the stay was the communication barrier with the staff. I will not be racist or culturally prejudiced (i'm multi-racial myself) but I could not understand the heavy accent and getting the microwave, which was SUPPOSED to be included in the room, was difficult. Explaining the broken bed was difficult. And explaining the shower issues were difficult. After all that, when we checked out, they did NOT return our $100 CASH deposit until some person, whom we'd never met, went physically to the room and 'check it out' before they gave us the money back! All in all the service was lackluster, the condition was a step above a crack house in the ghetto and the experience was terrible. OH YEAH! One more thing!! Don't be fooled by the 'FREE shuttle service to Disneyland' from the Hotel. They only go at 7:30 or 8:30 in the a.m. and will ONLY get you at 11:30 or 12:30 at night! Which meant our first night we had to walk over a mile back to the Hotel in 55 degree weather and pouring rain with a 9yr old, 8 yr old and 2 mo. old.!! BAD, BAD, BAD!!! I wouldn't let my enemy stay here! Les mer

I was satisfied with this hotel, except for one problem. Each morning about 7 am there was NO HOT WATER. I talked with another person from another room at breakfast, and she said the same thing for them. She called the desk 3 X's and someone checked it out 3 X's but no improvement. Knocking on the water heater with some tool doesn't fix it. I suspect […] too small a water heater for the rooms it services. Other than that it was what I expected. The beds were clean, and the bath fairly decent. Rooms need better touch up with repairs and paint, and it needs some more cosmetic painting, but for the price it doesn't effect my stay, only no hot water does. I would stay again if the hotel gets new/better water heaters, otherwise, I will look elsewhere, and I do go to D-land 4 X's a year, so I have tried a few other places. My usual hotel was already booked for Xmas week, so I tried this other hotel. I'll book the other hotel sooner next time. The only other plus, which I didn't need, was that for a small hotel it has it's own free shuttle. For those who have several family members, it does save on paying for the public shuttle, or the Disney parking garage which charges $15 per vehicle now. Les mer

Check-in process was a surprise when I was told that a $100 incidentals/damage deposit was required (I had pre-paid my room). Not enough towels. Contacted office re: lack of hot water. Maintenance was able to get hot water to sink; lukewarm to tub. Contacted office again, was told to "let water run"; a full tub never got beyond lukewarm. At checkout, […] stated again that there was no hot water, and again told to "let it run". Other than hot water issue, room was clean, recently renovated and quiet. But, would not stay there again, because of lack of response to water issue. Les mer

Everything was great EXCEPT for not having hot water for showering. It would go in and out of luke-warm water.

I believe breakfast should have more fruit. Also there need to be a laundry facility on grounds, not around the corner for customer use.

The Express Inn was no-frills, but the rooms were clean and comfortable, with good lighting and water. The staff was very pleasant and they never hesitated to offer help when needed. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

This hotel is horrible! The towels were small and worn out with holes in them. I had to call down and request them to bring an iron and ironing board pad. I asked for glasses and they told me I could come to the front desk and get a couple of styrofoam coffee cups. We requested to go to the pool and had to wait for them to take the lock off even though […] it was before the pool area was suppose to close. They then said the pool wasn't ready and we could only sit in the jacuzzi that didn't work. The entire bottom floor was under construction so there were only 4 rooms being used on the second floor. So you'd think the customer service would be better. We asked for 4 extra towels, 2 to use for the jacuzzi and 2 to use to shower in the morning. The guy would only give us 2 additional towels and said that it was their policy to only give 1 extra per person. We couldn't even get extra washcloths to use in the morning. They give you just enough towels to take exactly 1 shower per person. The towels were cheap towels like you'd get when working out at the YMCA. We had a king size bed and they didn't even use king size sheets. Instead of a king size fitted sheet, they used a regular queen size flat sheet and just laid it on top of the mattress. So the sheet kept coming off the mattress throughout the night since it wasn't a fitted sheet. The shower took forever to get luke warm. And the counter had people's names carved into it. There was absolutely nothing "Luxury" about this place. Very disappointed in the customer service and the room, towels and pool area. Will never go here again. Les mer

Mandatory $100 "security fee" was never explained, 5 days later still waiting for reimbursement. These are obviously hotel rooms and not "Luxury Suites" do not be fooled by the name. Hotel staff was rather ragged looking and was not helpful.

I sayed here for the weekend of the Disneyland Half marathon. My main concern was the comfort of the room since I would be needing to rest up and to get plenty of sleep. The room was clean and comfortable. The beds aren't the greatest but they weren't uncomfortable either. I liked how close it was to restaurants and to the Arco station, which was convenient […] for last minute needs. I'd definitely stay here again. Upon check in, i was informed that i had to put an additional $100 deposit, even though the room was pre-paid. The deposit was a hold to make sure the room had no damages when you check out, but it seriously took the hotel 5 days to return the hold, which was VERY inconvenient. They had to pre-check the room before and AFTER check out. which made the […] process very long. I left a wet towel on the floor in the restroom, and by the next morning it was crawling with ants! the restroom has no tub, and the shower head needed to be replaced. The air conditioner was very loud and the tv had very bad reception. I would not recommend the hotel. Les mer

Rates were great, good location blocks from Disney Land. Very nice staff. Very clean location. Room was a bit stuffy, AC was loud, and bed was a bit squeeky, but what do you want for such a low price, under 50.

The place was clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable. The room even had a refrigerator! The only complaint I had was the TV was old and didn't work very well. Other than that , I would stay there again! It's a good deal if you are traveling on a budget!

Totally worth the price! Very clean place!
