This was the 4th hotel on a mini vacation road trip involving staying at five hotels. In terms of overall cost and appearance, it was by far the best hotel we stayed at on our journey. "Nicest hotel in Humboldt"
This was our third stay at this hotel. It's always been very clean, well maintained and a very pleasant place to stay. I'm originally from the area and think it's the best hotel in Humboldt County.

"Close to HSU and beautiful Redwood Forest"
We have stayed at quite a few hotels near HSU and they were small and in need of upgrading. We stayed at the Holiday Inn for 5 days and it was very roomy and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast every morning was very good. The Airport in next door but we never heard a plane take off or land. "Best Room in the county"
I stayed in a Jacuzzi suite and it was perfect. by far one of the finest hotel rooms I've stayed at outside of Las Vegas.

The only good thing about this Hotel was the free breakfast. Everything from pancakes,biscuts and gravey to bacon and eggs. The bed was hard as a rock. be carefull of the large incidental fee charged to your credit card, to put back on it in five buisness days.

Hotel accomodations were safe and accomodating. Breakfast offering was excellent. Pool and spa were clean. Only drawback was the slight mold above and around the shower insert in our room. Otherwise, would certainly make reservations again. Location of the hotel was great for our family. We were on the coast to specifically to visit the Redwood National […] Park, which was only 20 min away. Clam Beach was also only a few minutes away from the hotel. Please note there are many campers, perhaps homeless, who camp at Clam Beach - so simply beware. However, the beach is very nice for walking and finding shells. Les mer
"Fabulous"
Absolutely terrific! Clean, new so very comfy. Breakfast was great. We are very discerning travelers and we could not be more pleased. One of the very best places that we have stayed at on this five week tour of the Nastional Parks.

I wanted a hotel that was close to Redwood National Park but was concerned about the airport nose at this location. You'd never known by noise that it was near an airport! "Pleasant Surprise"
Generally when I visit the Humboldt Coast I stay in Arcata or Eureka thinking that they would have better rooms and amenities. I was pleasantly surprised when I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in McKinleyville. The front counter staff was super helpful and friendly. The young lady name Jade gave me the inside scoop on all the local restaurants and […] places to visit. I travel a lot and rarely experience this level of customer service even at some of the higher end hotels in the city. My room was clean and comfortable with a good view view of the ocean. The staff was more than happy to shuttle me around whenever I needed to go out. The breakfast was also really good.My only small complaint would be that I could hear any conversations in the hall which honestly were few and far between. I am certain that this will be the only hotel I stay at when visiting the coast again. Hats off to the staff at the Holiday Inn Express. Les mer
"Wonderful experience"
We stayed two nights there. Room was great, clean and the staff was wonderful. They were very helpful. Jade was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was hot and served a great variety of food.

For our road trip, we stayed at 4 different Holiday Express' and also a few other hotel chains. Pros: This location proved to be one of the newer hotels, and also one of the cleanest and well-kept. Wi-Fi signal at this chain was better overall than other hotel wi-fi's. A great location to venture forth from to view the Redwoods. It is a short distance to restaurants and the in house breakfast is good even though served with disposible plates.

The newest, cleanest and most comfortable place to stay in Humboldt. Perfect for families. The beds are plush and very comfortable.
Nice hotel - comfortable stay - breakfast was good and they kept it well stocked. Several personnel was maintaining the food supply. Buffett included eggs, biscuits and gravy, etc.

"good and decent"
i stayed over here on my way to redwood national park. it was pretty decent and pleasant experience. right by the airport. all of what is available is close enough. good continental breakfast.
Hotel was quite nice but its located right at the airport but the noise stops at 10pm so thats not a factor. Breakfast was bad as we found hair in it. Oh well... better luck next time. The rooms are a little out-dated but ok all the same.

"Everything Looked Brand New"
Great room with many conveniences: Huge TV, fridge, microwave, coffee, etc. Excellent free hot breakfast. A great home base for visiting the area. The hotel looked brand new and the furnishings were tasteful and comfortable.

This hotel is more like a resort. The lobby has a gas fireplace, bookshelves, comfortable seating, free daily newspapers, and very friendly service. Nice breakfast (small eating area). Great indoor pool and exercise room. Clean, quiet rooms, everything worked. Beds could be more comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer than two days.
"What is a "suite"?"
We paid a premium price in order to stay in the hotel's jacuzzi "suite." We were very disappointed to find the "suite" was one room with a corner jacuzzi. There were two easy chairs and one desk chair. Because of the noise from the upstairs occupant we asked for another room and were moved the next morning. The new room seemed almost smaller with a […] miniscule bathroom. In this room there were two desk chairs and one easy chair. When we asked for another easy chair we were told there were none available. In the first room there were bathrobes, none in the second room. "Nice Hotel"
This was a very nice place to stay. It was close to the airport and close to Clam and Moonstone Beaches which is the way we wanted it. Someone who wants to be close to the city of McKinleyville might look for a different hotel as this was is a couple miles outside of town.
