Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Pacifica - Pacifica

Not wanting to pay incredibly high parking fees for San Francisco hotels, we decided to stay at the Pacifica. We were very impressed right from the start. The staff were very helpful and really friendly. WI-Fi is free (why do some places charge for this?) The whole hotel is spotlessly clean. Our room was large, quiet and with lots of hanging space. […] Parking is free and a great breakfast included. The location is just off the highway next to a sandy beach. We drove to the nearest BART station (10 minutes) and let the train take the strain ($6.30 return). The system worked well - all the details (and map) were given to us at reception - an example of how helpful everyone was. Would also suggest a visit to "A Grape in the Fog" bistro type place, just round the corner. We would highly recommend this hotel, a convenient way to visit San Francisco...... even the free cookies are good too. Les mer

My wife and I were driving from San Francisco South along California scenic Route 1 on New Year's Day and picked up this hotel at the last moment because it got dark and we wanted to continue in daylight the next morning. We were given an upgraded room with partial ocean view, which felt as homey and cozy as we had not felt in a hotel for a long time. […] The staff was extremely kind and helpful, the hotel was very clean and very neatly decorated and our room was impeccably clean, with a comfortable bed and sofa. The breakfast was also good and as we walked around the hotel in the morning we found a very nice beach right around the corner. We will definitely stay again in this hotel. Les mer

No views from our window, but nice foyer area outside rooms. Has lift, complimentary breakfast, wifi and undercover parking. Located on beautiful beach with amazing views. Close to SanFran which is why we stayed. Still a bit pricey compared to other areas we have travelled to but everything else with same kind of quality was more.

lovely clean , and well run hotel , all the staff are very helpful and friendly , and will do there best to help you with any queries or problems you might have , it's like staying at a family run hotel , we stayed for 14 nights , because , we did not want to stay in the city , the beach and sea are close by , as are shops in the shopping centre down […] the road , we travelled on the bus to Daly City , several times , and then caught the Bart Trains in to the city , and back . it is better than trying to park in the city , and is a great way to see the city .... Other times we drove out to other places in the car , and found nearly everyone , was friendly and helpful , in fact , when we come back to San Francisco , which we plan to do , we will defineatly stay at the Holiday Inn Express next time ............BOBBY_G14 Les mer

Only complaint really is that the hotel has a weird smell and our room smelled pretty gross. At first, I thought the smell was cigarette smoke, but then later concluded that it just had a weird, yucky smell. We only saw 2 restaurants around the area. Good Hotel, clean and modern. Great stop over near the airport. Breakfast was really good with plenty of choice. Friendly staff on front desk, really helpful and efficient.

Chose Pacifica as a close first night destination after arriving in to SFO for vacation. Hotel has received the Holiday Inn facelift and is overall well done. Rooms next to the highway are (not surprisingly) a bit noisy. For a bit more money it would be worth getting an ocean view room, especially if you are staying for a couple of nights here. The hotel is situated close to the beach which is a plus. The bed was not as comfortable as we would like and the sheets were full of dark hairs which we think belonged to the cleaners. The receptionist was lovely and she gets top marks. The breakfast was simple in terms of choices but good qualityand plentifull. We stayed here on a referral from other travelers and we were very happy with it. It wasa breeze checking in and out. The bed and pillows were very comfortable which is a rare thing these days. The entire place from handy covered parking garage, lobby, breakfast area and rooms were kept super clean. The lights were great and the room was big, we stayed […] in the king oceanview room. It was very convienent as well, just jump on the freeway and go north or south. The breakfast was good, nice selection for all types of appetities. The room also had a small refrigarator, microwave, and coffe machine. It was a great stay and I would highly recommend this hotel. I wish other hotels would provide so much for not a huge price!! If travelling to SF, prefer stay here, in Pacifica. Just 20 minutes by car to downtown SF. Quiet and nice stay near the ocean is much better than over-over-priced hotels in San Francisco or Oakland. Very nice and clean hotel.

This hotel was simply fantastic. Having been put off by the prices in the centre of san francisco we looked for value outside. the reviews of the Holiday Inn express at Pacifica were spot on. The hotel is in a lovely spot on the beach, some nice restaurants nearby - Nicks is not to be missed - and is really convenient for san francisco as well. you […] can drive in but we opted for a 10 min drive to the Bart station, 2 dollars to park and $6.60 return fare to the centre of SF. The welcome at the hotel was superb, friendly and informative. All the staff we met were lovely and couldn't do enough for you. the room was large, clean and very comfortable. room cleaned every day. the breakfast buffet was top class and there was coffee and cookies available free all day. Overall we couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough, if we return to SF it is the only place we would even consider. Les mer

The only reason I gave cleanliness a 4 is because the carpet had a mildew smell. The room has a swamp cooler, not an A/C, and I think the use of it adds so much moisture to the air and it eventually settles in the carpet. Other than that, we were pleased. The staff were friendly and the rest of the hotel was beautiful.

Clean rooms, good service, front desk very hospitable, and breakfast in lobby. Nick's restaurant behind the hotel serves very good food. A lovely Christmas store across the street. Hotel is on Rockaway Beach where you can watch the waves crash against the rocks, or walk the Tsunami Trail to Pacifica Beach to watch the surfers.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn for just one night before staying in San Francisco for the rest of our trip. It was a nice change from staying in the city, with the ocean right there. The Farmers market on Wednesday was great. It is really small, but wonder food. The mango necturines were delicious and the jams were tasty. My wife even had a massage. My stay at this hotel was great. There were a lot of great amenities - nice flat screen tv, comfortable bed, good reading chair and hassock, good lighting, good pressure in the shower and a good, healthy breakfast. I would definitely stay here again. Nice beach right next to the hotel.

We spent 7 days visiting the San Francisco Bay area and stayed at the HI Express in Pacifica. This hotel is in a great location right on the ocean. Everyday was a short and easy drive into the city on Hwy 1 and every evening we could walk on the beach and watch the sunset over the ocean. The staff was one of the best we have ever experienced! I stayed one night and was very impressed by the personal service the owners provided. They called my room to check if everything was satisfactory and if there was anything else I needed. The room was very clean and nice...overall a very nice place to stay...and the breakfast had a great variety to choose from

Very nice location. Could hear the ocean from our room. Secluded cove was nice. Friendly staff. Clean and nice room. Kind of a funky smell in common area. Lot's of garbage truck noise in the morning one day- but otherwise a great place to stay.

The hotel was was very nice and newly updated. I would have never guess how nice it was from the outside. We only stayed one night...we checked in about 7:30pm and checked out before check out. Would have liked to been there longer.

The complimentary hot breakfast was terrible, the egg omelet was processed food, and attention should be given to a menu change. The location is great just south of San Francisco, but the ocean front view, was also a partial parking lot and motel view, so this room should have been sold as a partial ocean view. Normally stay at Embassy Suites or Marriott hotels so I was a little weary of a Holiday Inn- let me just say the staff was awesome! The free hot breakfast was great and the view from our room was beautiful. The only thing was our room was a jr. Suite and it was small but that's about the only thing I could of complained about. This hotel was the most uncomfortable experience yet, and I travel each week on business. While the office/desk area was quite nice, as well as bed and kitchen set up, the bathroom was horrible. the problems were the following; bathroom fan stayed on ALL THE TIME, lights would go on off auto, so you would move constantly in bathroom and hall to keep […] them on while getting ready, the temp was set at 70 and could not be lowered or increased. While you are trying to manage expenses please note that it is very uncomfortable listening to a fan for over an hour while getting ready as well as having lights that auto turnoff during the process as well.
