Hvis man går gjennom Museum Gardens tar der drøye fem minutter å gå inn til sentrum av York.Goldsmith's ligger i et sjarmerende og stille nabolag og blir drevet av ekteparet Susan og John som gjør sitt ytterste for at deres gjester skal ha det fint. Anbefales på det aller varmeste.

Veldig bra opphold! Rommet jeg fikk var av god hotell standard. Nytt, rent og nødvendige funksjoner. Litt lite rom, dersom man ønsker å tilbringe mer enn natten der. Veldig hyggelig vertskap. Frokost var både typisk engelsk, men også kornblandinger mm, for oss som er glad i det. Anbefales på det varmeste!

Ankom york tidlig den dagen vi skulle sjekke inn, fikk rommet vårt fire timer før tiden, helt utrolig bra service! Nærme alt, bare fem minutter gange til sentrum :) bra standard på rommet, veldig fint. Var litt lytt, knirket litt i gulvet fra de over, men det var ikke noe man la merke til etter hvert :) frokosten var ikke helt på topp, men det lå en matbutikk rett ved og mange pubber og andre plasser de solgte god mat, så det var ikke noe problem!

A small, clean, comfortable hotel on the outskirts of the city. Gave a 2 rating for cleanliness as bin wasn't emptied in our room prior to our arrival but other than that very satisfied. Reception and restaurant staff very friendly and helpful.

little disappointed with the location of this hotel. There is no direct transport link ie bus to the centre and it not safe to walk as it is along a dual carriage way to the park and ride. we therefore had to rely on taxi's at £10 each way. Alternatively you can drive but it is £2 per hour to park and that is if you can get a space. Another downside […] was that we were told there was wifi, there is but at a charge of £2.50 per hour. My family of four stayed for one night. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very cheery and courteous hotel receptionist, who was able to answer any questions we had. Indeed all the staff we met were welcoming and helpful. We found our room a little cramped for four, with the sofa bed down, but bearable for the short duration of our stay. The hotel is […] within half a mile of the nearest park and ride terminus and we made use of this very convenient service for our first day in York. Be warned that the pub next door may appear to be a convenient place to grab a meal, but on the Tuesday evening we tried to get a table the place was heaving and we were told that the wait for a table would be an hour; book early! I/we recommend this hotel and the excellent park and ride service just down the road. Les mer

This was exactly what it said on the tin. A tidy budget hotel a £10 taxi ride outside of York. Breakfast in the morning was a plus. Not the place for any extras or room service, but perfectly fine for what we were after. Staff are great too.

park and ride is easily accessible just up the lane removing the worry of where to park in York City. Booked the hotel on the last minute for a 2 day break in York. Normally use a Travelodge but never again. The stay was fantastic. The hotel was clean, staff very very friendly and helpful. Rooms very comfortable and to top it all a cooked breakfast when we where only expecting a continental one. "Nice hotel for a good price value"
The stuff was friendly and always prepared to solve some minor issues with the Wifi connection. The speed of the Wifi was also quite slow. The hotel is great located and it's a good location for day trips to sight seeing attractions around Poole.

"Good location but pricy"
The hotel can only be described as budget but at non budget prices. Room overlooked neighbouring pub's bin store so was noisy late at night. In need of refurb. Bed very uncomfortable, breakfast very basic, Staff friendly. No lift so had to carry cases upstairs. Great location on outskirts of York however I shall not be returning.

On arrival we were welcomed warmly and efficiently. The room was clean and just what you hope to find when staying with this chain. The choice of pillows suites us as I prefere a firm pillow whilst my husband prefers a soft one. My husband and my son and I recently stayed here as we had travelled from Scotland to York for a drivers dream day. It was spot on in every way. Young guy at reception was very helpful and pleasant and supplied us with a map for our trip the next morning. The breakfast buffet was pretty good too and the room was perfect. Found hotel to be comfortable,was suprised to find they didnt have bacon on the breakfast it would have been nice. Taxi company the hotel use is quick and friendly and reasonably priced. dont think it would a choice of hotel if next in york for when we return next year slighly dissapointed with the hotel but not bad just for the weekend stay .

Very nice hotel, exceptionally friendly receptionist. Good breakfast. Rooms clean and all ready including sofa bed and towels for our child. Very close to park and ride at Monks Cross, making access to York very easy and cheap as you only pay on the bus, car parking free. having a car and being able to use the park and ride meant getting to stay in york for a little cheaper than expected. Holiday in express is in a good location. The service is good and the express breakfast is much better than expected! The staff were friendly and the rooms were well kept. I would use holiday inn again!

Good hotel, great staff, very helpful. Pub next door not veery good for food, but staff sent us to Thompson Fish Restaurant, that was great, did all sorts of food very good menu.

Hotel was plain but mostly okay, not near the centre but we expected that and it wasn't a problem. Having booked a room for 3 adults it was disappointing to find we had a queen bed and a single not much better than a camp bed. If we had had a toddler with us this may have been satisfactory but my adult daughter had an extremely uncomfortable night.

A very nice clean hotel. Only downside was that it was a little way out of town, & a return cab journey into town cost just under £20. Receptionist were very helpful.

This hotel is clean and modern. The breakfast included some hot food which was unexpected and was more than adequate. The Park and Ride is a mile down the road but the last bus leaves York at 8pm which is no good for an evening in town. There is a Toby Carvery next to the hotel but nothing else within walking distance. Good value for money. "Wonderfull hotel in an excellent location"
This hotel was even better than expected! It is situated just outside York and is easy to find. You cannot walk into York as there are no footpaths by the road but there is an excellent park and ride service a couple of minutes away. Adults are £2.30 return and children travel free when accompanied by an adult, the busses run frequently and are easy […] to locate on bus stops around York. The hotel was being refurbished during our stay but it did not affect us or were we disturbed in any way. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with the beds made daily. Breakfast was a self service affair but had an excellent range for all pallettes and the staff were on hand to refill anything which had run out. The tea and coffee machine is available all the time and guests are offered insulated cups and lids to have a takeaway! The reception is extremely helpful and will try and get you any information you need. It is child friendly and is attached to a nice pub where they serve a good carvery. Les mer

"Hotel nickel mais un peu loin du centre"
RAS en ce qui concerne l'hotel lui-même : accueil, propreté et confort des chambres, petit déjeuner. Très au calme car éloigné du centre. Un peu trop cependant, ce qui nécessite d'avoir une voiture pour aller visiter ou diner à York. Mais on y est en 10 minutes. Autre bémol : WIFI payant.

Et i alle henseende udmærket hotel; god plads på værelset, høfligt og hjælpsomt personale i receptionen, god service.
chaîne d'hôtel correcte, seuls les canapés pour les chambres familiales ne sont pas trés confortables. Petit déjeuner buffet mais plus ou moins garnis selon les hôtels: celui de York n'est pas trop mal et le personnel plus aimable que celui de Cambridge que nnous avons aussi testé.Là le prix était plus intéressant : on ne peut pas tout avoir!!!
