Vi hadde et flott opphold på HHMI&S! vi var på familieferie med barn fra 12-22 - de elsket stedet. Flott med et lite treningssenter, nydelig bassengområde med bordtennisbord og boblebad! Vi hadde både frokost og middag i restauranten - fantastisk god mat!De i resepsjonen var utrolig hyggelige og imøtekommende. Området rundt var stille og rolig, med flere koselige restauranter så man slapp kjøre inn i byen. Kort vei til Sea World. Eneste minus var at noen av hotellgjestene var svært høylytte nattestid, og det var lytt fra utsiden av rommet. Det var også ganske lytt mellom rommene, så vi kunne høre svært godt krangelen på naborommet fra badet vårt. Men alt i alt et supert opphold! Kommer gjerne tilbake!!

Vi var meget fornoed med hotellet paa alle maater. Beliggenheten er perfekt. Trikkelinje rett bak hotellet. Mange restauranter rett i naerheten,

I varmt vær strømmer folk til vannet ved Mission Beach og Pacific Beach, to av de mest populære sandstrendene i San Diego-området. På disse ellers rolige og avslappende stedene arrangeres det fra tid til annen bondemarkeder og kunstfestivaler. Mission Boulevard knytter sammen de to strendene og fører nordover mot La Jolla.

Nære til stranden, rent og helt ok! Ikke noe fancy men stille og rolig, helt supert etter våre behov. Fra et trangt hotellrom i New York, ble det en positiv overraskelse med god seng, liten stue og køkken. Vi brukte ikke poolen og spenderte ikke mye tid der, men hadde sikkert valgt Beach Haven Inn en gang til hvis vi tar turen igjen.

With a kitchen unit it was very affordable. Older, small, but if you want a kitchen it is great for the money. It is in good shape.

The Beach Haven Inn was a welcome surprise. It sits about a block from the beach with lots of stuff to do within walking distance. The accommodations while not "plush" were very comfortable. The property is well kept and for the price, is worth the stay. The pool looked inviting and our room was quiet and roomy. The kitchenette was clean, well stocked […] with cooking utensils however you will need to bring your own coffee if you want it in your room. There is just steps away coffee in the lobby that was fresh and free. The staff was more than willing to help out when my battery on my car needed a jump, this was way beyond expected. For this beach community where parking is limited, the Beach Haven has lots of free parking onsite which is a plus. It was great to wake up and go for a morning walk and watch the surf. "Close to the beach"
Staff was friendly and helpful does have limited parking but staff was also helpful with finding additional parking if the hotels parking was full. Close to all the local bars, food and beach. Room was clean and looked nice.

Hotel room was one of the older rooms. Not as pictured. Room was outdated, falling apart and kind of ddepressing. Nice proximity to beach. Beach is beautiful from afar but littered with tons of seaweed and flies which feed on it. Area is ok. "Reasonably priced"
Stayed here over Christmas. Was surprised at the large size of the room and antique-like furniture, but the room was very clean, if not showing its age. Liked the LCD flat screen TV, WiFi, hot tub and quiet neighborhood. Very comfortable beds. I would have liked a coffee maker in the room instead of having to go to the office every morning. "Front desk manager extremely rude"
When we checked in the manager was extremely rude and condescending. He let us check in early(around 1pm) but He spoke to us like we were children (I'm 34). He tried to upgrade us to a room with a kitchen and when we declined he explained our room was very small and we would feel crowded. (thanks?). He charged us $10 extra per night for each additional […] guest which is understandable except we explained the 2 extra guest were leaving a day early and we were still charged for that day. The rooms were small but were comfortable but did have a musty mildew smell. I will not stay there again or recommend this hotel based solely on the attitude of the manager who checked us in. Les mer
"New years in Pacific Beach"
This hotel has a lot of character. It's no bellagio but it does the job and the staff was very nice. All bars and touristy attractions are with in walking distance. Definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Small but cosy, quick and easy getting in and out they had all my keys ready for me when i came at 1am so nice convienent to beach and bars/shops walking distance. the beds are so confy.

It's not fancy but the rooms are clean and it's stumbling distance to the many bars in PB. I've stayed there twice and will do so again.
"Eccentric Front Desk Employees"
Upon checking in to the Beach Haven Inn, my party and I were greeted by a very eccentric front desk employee who proceeded to turn what I thought would be a very smooth check-in process into a half-hour long ordeal. Copies of driver's licenses, verifying current addresses, collecting our phone numbers, etc were all part of this long and arduous check-in. […] At first, I was very unhappy with how everything was going, as my party and I had just driven a long way to get to San Diego to get to our hotel close to the beach. After the check-in process was finally completed and we actually saw our rooms, everyone's attitude changed. The rooms were very up-to-date, nice granite showers, air conditioning, four-posted bed, flat screen TV, the works. My favorite part about this hotel is the neighborhood that it is located in - Pacific Beach. We were surrounded by everything that we could want, including a short 5-minute walk to the relatively clean beach. I would definitely recommend this location to other travelers looking for a place to stay in Sand Diego close to the beach. It's not the most beautiful hotel and doesn't offer the usual amenities of the big hotel chains, but for your money - this is the place to go. Les mer

we enjoyed our stay very much and will return again for another stay. The staff was very friendly, the facilities were clean and comfortable, and our overall experience was outstanding. Our kids loved it, too, as there were even loaner toys to play with for the beach. Great job!

We stayed here for our mini vacation in Pacific Beach. Our objective: beach access. comfortable and clean. pool and hot tub. convenient to other SD attractions. Modest price. The Beach Haven Inn, met or exceeded our expectations. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was no luxury room, but clean and comfortable for sure. The pool was and hot […] tub were nice. The hot tub did have some sand in it from the beach. I guess some other guests used it as a bath tub. But we were considering the other hotel on the block which was right on the beach and a couple hundred dollars more per night. So we felt we made a good compromise as we walked barefoot in our swim gear to the beach. The flat panel tv was ok. Not that big, but the digital cable was hard to navigate and quite choppy. We didn't watch a lot of tv. Could have used more outlets for our electronic gadgets. An mp3 player/clock/radio like an ihome is a cheap thing to have in a hotel which makes the stay SO much better. "Don't believe the photos!"
I thought we'd be on the beach. I thought "recently renovated" meant stuff was fixed. I wish I'd stayed at the Comfort Inn at the freeway. I knew the neighborhood was noisy, but there were extra drips from the back, roars from the air cooler, etc. The AM staff was friendly, and I left not feeling quite as bad about my selection.

My boyfriend and I stayed one night..and it was a great location. Walking distance from main street..where there are shops galore and food eateries too. If its just you and one person then yes I recommend Beach Haven :)

it was not facing the beach. there is no room with ocean view. but, it took only 1 minutes to walk to the beach.

or the price and location, it was great. We were not expecting much and we did not get much. We upgraded to a room with a kitchen, which was a mistake. Should have kept the regular room. I would stay there again if it was just for one night and we were not going to be in the room for very long.

The exterior is misleading. The rooms are nice. The proximity to the beach is worth the older quality. The jacuzzi is not the best but... the ocean is 2 minutes away. I would return for the rate I paid.

I've stayed at the Beach Haven several times, but I won't do so again. I knew going in that I'd face walls, doors, fixtures, etc. in bad repair. (It was a struggle to close the bathroom door.) For the price, that's not a problem since the staff is friendly and it is clean. But this time, the whole night was punctuated with loud people congregating (it […] seemed) right outside my door. There was no limit on this. It sounded like a foursome was having a noisy cocktail party in my room that began at four AM. (It was friendly and full of laughter and just next door in actuality.) Not of the talking was angry or bellicose, but I did not get a single full hour's sleep. To be fair, I did not complain to management. We regret any problems you encountered at the Beach Haven Inn. It is our policy to address any noise complaints we are aware of. Our policy with regard to noise (as mentioned on our registration card) is quiet hours are between the hours of 10pm - 8am. We try conscientiously to enforse that policy. I can't tell you how much we regret this situation and hope that you may consider and decide to give us another opportunity to accommodate you.

"Need Improvement"
Hot water never lasted for showers. Had four people in one room and never enough hot water. Not even for one shower.... A little upseting when u r at the beach all day and then want to take a nice shower... was close to the beach though.. just a couple minutes to walk there.

Older building that has room for improvement. Considering it's a block from the beach and the price is reasonable, one can't ask for a fancy bathroom. It could definitely use a lighting remodel.

I've stayed at this hotel a few times. I love the location. The pool and whirlpool are clean and inviting. I would recommend this hotel to travelers that are on a budget and need a safe/nice place to stay.
