New Hotel Select ligger i hjertet av Marseille, i nærheten av Jardin des Vestiges, Vieux Port og La Vieille Charite. Ikke langt unna finner du også Musee des Docks Romains og Abbaye de Saint Victor.

Hotellet var spesielt når en ser på på fargevalg på rom og ganger, hotellet ligger rett ved stranpromenaden i Sanary med få minutters gange til sentrum av byen, frokosten var ok, ingen posjonering av mat,. Vi prøvde ikke restauranten på hotellet, savnet muligheten for å kjøpe drikke, men med Sparbutikenn 100 m uinna var ikke det noe problem, utearelaene har sett sine beste dager men de var vel ikke helt klare til sesongen, da vi var der midt i April -

Hadde et tidlig fly så måtte egentlig dra før frokosten begynte, men de åpnet frokostbordet tidligere så jeg skulle få spist før jeg dro. Ble også møtt med en liten gave da jeg ankom, generelt meget god service.

Fint hotell m fantastisk belligenhet. Spesielt kort vei til stranden og kort gang avstand til sentrum og and serverdigheter. Cassis en fin fiskelandsby med hyggelige mennesker.

Ankom sent - måtte ta taxi da de ikke hadde skuttlebus så sent som kl. 2230 på fredager. Topp frokost til å være i Frankrike. Vanskelig å komme ut-port stengt kl. 0630 pga av regnskap på PC, men sakkyndig ble kontaktet slik at vi kom ut.. Skulle med tidlig tog fra flyplass stasjonen til Avignon. Synd at billettautomatene enda ikke hadde fått engelsk tekst. En park.vakt sa vi kunne kjøpe ombord, men det kom aldri noen konduktør. I Avignon billet på stasjonen kjøpt hos stasjonsbilletør.

"Dårlig service - dårlig standard"
Begredelig frokost - ikke verd 9 EUR. Store mangler på rommet - ødelagt dusj, manglende dusjdør, generelt veldig slitt. Aircondition fungerte ikke. Vond lukt på rommet. Ble fakturert for mer enn vi skulle - ingen beklagelse. Grei beliggenhet ved tog- og busstasjon.

"Nice and central"
Nice and central hotel. Very close to the train station, and easy walking distance to the central shopping streets and the old harbour. The hotel is undergoing renovation and is beginning to look nice. The walls are very thin, and you can hear everything the neighbors are saying.
"great hotel but watch out for misleading info"
Really nice hotel and perfect location near the train station and the center of the city. Friendly staff. Great buffet breakfast.... but..... information from the reception made it sound like it was with the room.... It is 10 euros extra, not a bad price but a big surprise. Also 1 euro per night city tax extra.

2 minute walk from train station, short walk to port. Friendly staff, good breakfast, asked for hair dryer at front desk/no problem! Good price for value. Funny smallest elevator in the world!!
"New Hotel Select, water hazard."
On our first night, we returned home to find water dripping from the ceiling. Water could be heard from the floor above. Soon the drip became a torrent from 3 places. The most worrying was the halogen light fitting. A trip to the night manager was fruitless. Response to my statement, water ir running from the light fittings in the shower was met with, […] was 'that is normal'. Not good enough. No offer of room change or anything. Les mer

This hotel is a 10 minute walk from the train station. It was perfect for my one night stay. The breakfast in the morning looked very good. The city is a bit riff raff like so if you prefer a more calm environment then stay closer to the port. Hotel was fine like I said for my stay. It is about a 10 minute walk to the port, through crazy riff raff. […] So, as a single woman I did not feel safe going out alone when it was dark and late. "Close to the railway station"
We stayed for 4 nights, first day we didn't had hot water at all. I complained and they fixed it the next day and gave us free breakfast. They don't do reimbursement which I asked for. The neighborhood is super dirty but the location was convenient for us. Overall I wouldn't recommend it just if you need to be close to the railway station.

nice hotel...close to St. charles and the port area. the staff was very helpful. I did not like the neighbourhood at all, otherwise i would give it 4 stars. it is always bustling so safety was not that much issue but still weird.

"Quick bang for the buck"
If you are on a stopover as we were, this hotel is just fine. Keep in mind you are in Marseilles. About twenty percent of the locals here are actually from France. Everyone else are from countries close by: Tunisia, Greece, Morocco and gypsies from who knows where. We stayed for four nights because the B&B in Provence would not be available to us until […] then so toughed it out and actually had some fantastic meals whilst there. However, one night at dinner our waiter told us to "beware of the starving children" which was code for watch your wallet and don't leave the money for the bill or tip on the table. Always bring it to your waiter and all should rest well from there. The hotel staff were mostly cool but what we weren't expecting was that it was managed by Muslims. We brought wine with us and since there are no mini fridges in the room I asked the front desk person if I could store it in one of their refrigerators downstairs where they keep the food for breakfast and so forth. They were agreeable and two of them were actually quite entertained with the idea. The other two took to it as a task and it's because they cannot touch the bottles, ever. So we were treading on sacred ground, a refrigerator/freezer in the basement of a hotel! The location is noisy to the extreme. Constant din of scooters, sirens, horns and trucks/lorries. It is within walking distance to the national railway and there is a Europacar agency just three minutes by foot to the right that if you make your reservations online you'll always get the better deal. WiFi is free in the common area downstairs and works pretty well though my wife swears one of the front desk managers will shut it off in the middle of the night like a depriving father. Also, this person in question will pray all night at the front desk. You can hear him ever so quietly as chants. Not sure if it was for him or for us! Walking to the Old Harbor is quick. "Central location"
This hotel is an easy walk down from the train station and is also close to the harbor waterfront. Great location and nice facilities.

Although the staff were very friendly, the building is old and the rooms are in serious need of repair. The photographs must have been taken a long time ago, or they were of what they like them to be, not what they are. Would not recomend to anyone, unless it is seriously remodelled.

"New Hotel Select"
The hotel is not bad. The room is clean and spacious, but the hallway and elevator lift is very tiny. The staff was somewhat helpful. Good location, it's a few minutes a way from Canbere street. Also, expect to pay a country tax when you check out.
"our worst hotel stay EVER"
We paid for a superior room with air; were put in a superior room with A/c that did not work; were told they were full; they lied; the room was so hot we had to sit in the lobby; we complained again and were moved to another room that had a/c, but which was only marginally better. the next morning, after unpacking, we were told that the room was a standard […] room & that we could be switched to a superior room; we were already so upset with our treatment that we declined (they couldn't explain what the difference, other than price, was between the two). you could not enter or exit the hotel without walking through a swarm of flies; the 'lobby' consisted of 3 chairs and 1 small table so internet usage was in a tiny dining area. we had to, every day, ask for towels and soap; every day the maid left the window open for flies to get in. One day, returning from a 4 hour walk, we found the hotel locked! the 'concierge' needed a potty break and decided to lock up - without putting up a sign so that people would know to wait! no one could enter or leave! when people called, he returned and YELLED AT US for not being patient. without question, this was the worst overall experience we have ever had. Please note this 'hotel' is part of a chain; i would be leery of any other hotel in this chain. Les mer

"Nice hotel - not so nice area"
The hotel was actually really nice for a 3 star hotel and it is literally 2 minutes away from the main train/bus station, its just a shame that the area is not very nice, well to be honest we didn't really find anywhere in the city that was very nice, there are a lot of run down businesses/buildings and lots of beggers on the street. I wouldn't really […] advise walking about at night time - we didn't bother as it didn't really seem very safe. The room was a good size with a really big bathroom, the only bad thing I can say about the room is that there was a smell of stale smoke as soon as you walked in, which you got used to after a while, but it still wasn't very nice. Would definitely recommend the hotel but would not really recommend Marseille itself. Les mer
"Nice budget hotel - close to area attractions"
After driving up the coast from Spain for about 6 hours we were eager to go to bed when we got to Marseilles past midnight. We checked into our room just fine and front desk clerk let us park our car in the hotel parking spots designated for unloading. This was very nice of him, since finding a parking spot on the streets of an unknown city late at […] night could be impossible. There were even a few stores & bars open around the corner were we could get some beer at this unthinkably late time for France. :) The hotel is situated equally close to all city's attractions: the port, shopping streets, etc. The one think that was lost in translation between me and a clerk is that breakfast was 10 euros per person. I neglected to ask when he offered it, and he didn't mention that it's not included in the price. Other than that it's a very nice hotel to spend a night. Les mer

Good location, free internet access, close to the train station and walking distance to the old port.
The front desk clerk spoke perfect english and was very quick in checking us in, even though we arrived 2 hours prior to the official check-in time. The room was small but more than acceptable for the price. The bathroom was great and the bed was comfortable. Good for a 2-3 night stay, but longer might start to feel really cramped. The free internet […] downstairs was a nice touch though internet in each room would have obviously been better. The staff all seemed knowledgeable about the area and was very helpful when we needed it. It was an easy 2 minute walk to the metro, bus station, and train station, though for those wanting to spend most of their time in the Vieux Port, the walk did take about 10-15 mintues. The hotel is within a few blocks of the train station -- all downhill (great when arriving, but uphill returning). Plenty of little shops and restaurants in the area, walking distance to Vieux Port and all the restaurants around the harbor. Easy access to public transport -- buses, tramline, metro -- but we walked almost everywhere. Took buses to Aix […] and La Ciotat for day trips, so closeness to Gare St Charles was a plus. "Precis vad vi behövde"
Hotellet låg nära centralstationen vilket var skönt då vi anlände ganska sent, dessutom var det ju inte mer än 7min promenad ner till gamla hamnen. Vi spenderade inte mer tid på hotellet än för att sova och duscha; rummet var stort och fräscht och sängarna var sköna så det var verkligen precis vad vi behövde. Testade inte frukosten och städningen kanske […] inte var den mest pedantiska under vår vistelse, men det kan man ju å andra sidan påverka själv genom att försöka hålla rent runt sig.. Les mer

Perfekt hotel om man vill uptäcka staden 5 min från st charles tågstation där går flygbussar var 15 min till flygplatsen ganska mycket ljud från all trafik men helt okej rum med bra badrum liten tv skulle inte rekomendera att äta frukosten på hotelet väldigt litet urval

"Proche de la gare"
Hotel proche de la gare (avec les avantages et inconvénients), récemment rénové (mais à moindres frais: baignoires non changées mais repeintes). Malheureusement, le jour de mon passage, le wifi ne fonctionnait pas et il n'y avait plus assez d'eau chaude pour prendre un bain à 10h du matin.

Hôtel central (proche Canebière) sans prétention mais agréable. Pas de bruit (chambre demandée côté cour), personnel sympathique. Pas le grand luxe, mais bon rapport qualité/prix. Un inconvénient majeur : les travaux aux alentours de l'hôtel.

Hotellet ligger supercentralt med gångavstånd till mycket av Marseilles sevärdigheter, men området var småsjaskigt och framförallt väldigt aktivt. Mycket trafik, biltutor, gap o sirener konstant i stort sett. Rummet blev snabbt lite kvavt även på kvällen och att ha fönster öppna på natten är inte att rekommendera för oljudet. Annars var rummet fräscht […] och rymligt. Hotellpersonalen kunde engelska bra och hade ok bemötande. Frukosten var möjligen något dyr i förhållande till omfattningen, men fräsch och helt ok. Hotellet ligger nära järnvägs och busstationen (som har direktbussar till flyget). Det tog ca 10 minuter med packning att gå mellan hotellet och flygbussen. Les mer

O Hotel é de construção antiga, mas parece ter passado por reformas por pouco tempo. Se você precisa de um hotel só pra durmir nele, esse é ótimo. Mas, só por isso, porque a região não me pareceu tão legal, embora com duas estações de metrô bem próximas (uma delas a Estação Saint Charles, com conexões com aeroporto, trens regionais e inter-países). O […] quarto é bem pequeno e as janelas dão direto para uma avenida muito movimentada. Eu creio que a relação custo/benefício não é tão boa. Les mer

Le personnel est sans exception tout à fait charmant et l'hôtel bien situé, la salle de petit déjeuner très agréable. Dommage que l'accès WIFI soit aussi chaotique. Je ne connais pas les tarifs Marseillais mais au regard des tarifs nantais, ville que j'habite, le prix est excessif.
