Great room, close to everything, good breakfast buffet. Would recommend 100%!

The hotel was nice, but I would probably choose to stay somewhere else down town the next time I ‘m in town. First there is no parking at the hotel. You either have to pay to park at the parking garage across the street, or pay to valet at $24 a day. The internet charge is $13 a day. I expect to pay for both of these at a down town hotel in Anchorage, […] but usually parking is around $10 a day. The room was nice, nothing fancy. I was disappointed that there was a space for a mini fridge, but no fridge. Then if you wanted to make coffee in the morning, there was only 1 regular coffee pack, so you had to draw straws on who got the decaf! All in all not a bad hotel, but there are better places to stay, for the same price. Les mer

VERY disappointed they took out the hot tub. We would not have stayed there. But the room was gorgeous. Slow service for food/drinks downstairs. It was a very busy weekend but 30 minutes for drinks is never ok. Needed more staff.

The room was very nicely appointed and bath products were from Bath & Body Works which was a nice touch. I loved that I could pre-order breakfast by hanging a card on the door with my selection - I was able to get up, go to the fitness center (small, but nice too by the way and with a small pool), and come back to breakfast being delivered. The only […] downside was the temperature in the room...it was quite warm at night and despite 3 separate efforts throughout the night to turn down the heat (and a fixed window that does not open) the room never cooled down. We had an wonderful time staying here with our family! Bed Sheets were not fresh looking. In the cafe, only paper cups. I ordered an expresso. Unbelieable - it was served in a large mug. Shame!. Waiter said, we don't have cups. The carpet on 5th floor needs detailed vacuming, dust showing on edges.

Room was very nice but expect to be Nickle'd and Dime'd while staying here. Rate on hotel.com was good for the room but did not include $24 / day for parking nor internet access fees. If you have a car and need the internet, it's just as expensive as the other hotels in the area.

This was our second choice to the Captain Cook, and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was very well kept, had nice soaps, a great bed and linens, and very friendly staff.

The staff was very helpful. I had many questions about the bus system, cabs , food etc. and was always pleased. The staff bent over backwards to hlp me in every instance. The location was excellant near the musume and great restaurants too.

From the valet with a smile and willingness to serve to the wait staff who kept me entertained this was a great experience. I will be returning next year and will stay here again!

This is a great hotel. In the middle of downtown Anchorage, near all of the Downtown Anchorage sites. I took my 5yo daughter there for a night out with her, we got a West facing room on the 11th floor. The room was clean and very well kept. One problem is parking. If you're going to have a car at this hotel, parking costs $1.00/hr, and youll have to […] walk a block. Unless you can hover and find a metered street parking spot which is free on nights and weekends. You'll still have to walk. The pool is nice, the restaurant was nice, but the breakfast buffet was a total disaster. We got there for breakfast, had to wait to be seated. Half of the tables were empty, and full of dirty dishes, they hadnt been cleaned off. We waited and waited for a server that never showed. We had to get our own water, and after enough waiting, I decided on the buffet. More than half of the food dishes at the buffet were empty. All there was was some fruit, bacon, bicuits and gravy. And cereal for my daughter. I had to ask the hostess for a bill, as I never did get a server. Aside from this, it was overall a fantastic weekend at a nice hotel. Les mer

Very spacious and comfortable room with lovely decor and a great view of the mountains. Spacious bathroom, well appointed. Walking distance to Anchorage restaurants and shops. Lovely hotel, would definitely stay again.

Hotel does not provide an airport shuttle, despite relatively close proximity. Compared to other Marriott hotels, hotel decor is functional but rather plain. All hotels in Anchorage are relatively expensive, and this Marriott is no exception. Food and service in the Lobby lounge was terrible. Fish and shrimp appetizers were advertised as being coated […] in Panko crumbs, but it seemed more like concrete. Service was slow and unresponsive. We had finished our food before our wine was served. Meanwhile the bartender was busy chatting up other customers seated at the bar. Breakfast the next morning was completely the opposite. They will WHACK you for parking at $24 a night. Thought that was a bit much given the 3 other hotels I usually stay at down town charge me nothing for parking.

Newly renovated room will not cool below 72 degrees and has small, old analog TV with very basic cable. The parking and internet fees will almost match your room rate (seriously). They actually charge by the minute for using computers in their business center. I would normally try to stay at a boutique hotel but was not able to find one in Anchorage so I stayed here. It is was find the staff was very nice. However, the hotel itself is rather boring and design is uninsprired.

The t.v. did not have a lot of channels and the picture quality was poor, there wasn't a fridge and there wasn't a fan in the room.

Very nice hotel; great location in downtown Anchorage. We were there for the Iditarod race and walked everywhere. Our room had a great view of Cook Inlet. My only complaint... we booked a room that was to include a breakfast, and paid slightly more for the "Stay for Breakfast" package. When we checked in, we were told the breakfast voucher was not offered […] on weekends. Hmm. We requested and the hotel sent up a cheese and wine tray, I believe in an effort to compensate us. So be careful booking the "Stay for Breakfast" package. You may not get what you expect. The Iditarod experience downtown was wonderful. Les mer

We were very pleased with the atmosphere and location of the hotel. Our event was just a block away which saved us having to find a taxi. It is also within walking distance to all downtown activity. Overall great hotel. The service was outstanding! Valett service was great & on point. Staff was very helpful & friendly. They found my lost bottle of perfume after I checked out which was wonderful. Great location to downtown or the airport. Awesome view of the inlet. The only downfall would be the outdated tvs, and the pool was not really meant for […] kids the most shallow part was 3'6 and the hot tub seemed kind of yucky which was one of the main reasons we stayed there was for the pool. Great Location, great view of Anchorage. The service was spotty, and the quality of the food was spotty too. For example, one time my breakfast arrived super late, then was missing food ordered, and most of the fruit was old. I still got charged for it. However, I cannot think of another service blunder. The valets are really great. The receptionists […] seem grumpy and mean. Also, the room was not the cleanest. There was a lot of dust and crud in all the nooks and crannies and it made me feel icky. For example, the tv remote was really dirty, and desk chair was filthy... I mean filthy.... I didn't even want to sit in it. Any time i stay in Anchorage I book at the Downtown Marriott. Beautiful floor to ceiling windows overlooking the inlet and the sunsets are amazing. Will never stay anywhere else. Room service, valet, bartender, and front desk staff were all top knotch. For a younger persons view, definatly the place to stay. Loved it.

Street metered parking available, $24.99 a night if you park with the hotel. $12.99 per 24 hours for internet connection. I'd recommend the Sheraton over this hotel. Rooms in need of an update.

Cleaner, quiet, and it has A/C, which the other recommended hotel has not. Get a better night's sleep, without the street noise. Walk to restaurants, trails, park, shopping. Concierge is helpful. We stayed at most other high-end (mainly just expensive) hotels and this is just the best here.
