Homestead Secaucus - Meadowlands - Secaucus

Dirty halls, rugs, rooms. Was not told they were under construction. Hotel should have been closed. Not worth the money I spent for three rooms.

Overall great stay. Loved how the room had a kitchenette, desk, pull-out couch, two beds and still lots of open floor space. The pool is heated and we always had the whole thing to ourselves. Very nice patio and bbq's off of pool room. Can walk to theatre, shopping and restaurants.

Cost much too high for quaity of hotel.

I usually stay at the Embassy suites, however they had a convention or something and although they still had rooms, the prices were outrageous. I saw this hotel being built a long time ago and finally gave it a try. I think that if you are not looking for hotel amenities, this is not a bad place to stay. Close to the theater complex and plenty of restaurants. […] The Walmart/ Sams club are a short walk away.. If you can figure out the transportation system, you won't need a car. The good point is that it costs much less than a hotel in Manhatan and has a bus stop at the very corner of the entrance, what enables you to get to Times Square in about 15 to 20 minutes (U$8.00 round-trip) through the Lincoln Tunnel. On the other hand, cleanlinnes is not the good point there, since you will probably have to fight for a clean towell […] or a simple (and professional) housekeeping in your room. The New Jersey bus system from hotel to New York is very friendly and efficient. If you must stay after one a.m. in New York however, It will cost you big for a taxi.

The room smelled really bad, dirty stained couch, uncomfortable beds... I was scared to sleep under the comforter. I've been in cheap discount motels that were better! Coffee & juice was only available for a few hours in the morning, and only 1 packet of coffee is provided per day (makes 2 actual cups)... I could go on & on...

Nice location, very close to times square and good facilities. Well recommended for families

The hotel was clean and the staff was very polite. It would have been nice to have an ice maker machine in the building. The carpet and wallcovering along with most of the cabinets in the hotel needs to be remodeled. Overall good for a short stay.

If you are absolutely stuck stay here.

The hotel appears nice when you walk in. However, once you get to the room, it is a different story. It is like walking into a time warm. Nothing modern. Bed is like a double cot. Appliances and furnishings are all out dated. Second and last time I try one of their properties.

i have booked 3 double beds with my family.i like the hotel location and the rooms but not the carpets on every floors.i am in the hotel business myself and travel a lot to new york from verginia.you need to improve a lot in guest assistant services,your front desk sucks not freindly at all,sorry to say that never even say good morning or how was your […] stay........i may try to stay one more time Les mer

The hotel was very dirty. You do not receive the cleaning of the room every day.

we booked a suite for 2 nights. it was stinking when we entered the room. the room was not cleaned after we left out for the day. When i asked the receptionist, she said the rooms will be cleaned only once in 7 days. since we had the hotel booked only for 2 nights, they cannot provide service. had a wonderful stay at the Homestead....check in staff, Maragarita (I think that was her name) was so polite and helpfull...a real asset to your hotel! we came from Canada and she was so helpful with directions, bus etc. We liked it so much, we booked an additional night stay! looking forward to staying here again when I come back to New York next […] year. Worst Hotel i've ever been... Dirty Carpets, dirty doors, almost everything is dirty. Even if it was cheap, i expected a little bit more than what it really was...Service wasnt so bad, Wi-fi is not included in the price. They have the best gym ever lol, a Threadmill and a Elliptical. Only interesting thing about it is that it's close to New York. So […] if you're a bunch of Dudes going to New York and dont wanna spend lots of money on a Hotel it's your place. The service desk was poorley maintained. No service as we needed extra towels. Bath room door wasn't locking. One of hte beds springs were bad and the sofabed is really bad. This Hotel is very poorley maintained. They really need reception desk service to be significantly improved. WEWe requested for extra towels, they asked us to come down and take […] ourselves. I was printing directions but th eprinter ran out of paper. The lady at the reception desk said she will report but wouldn't do anything. If service is improved this could be a reasonably good Hotel. Dirty, and while there, so many people were complaining. The poor guy working there kept on apologizing.

Terrible service, rude people at the front desk. Manager was the most rude of them all. I will NEVER stay here again. Rooms smelled terrible and toilet was falling apart. Total disaster.

Upon arriving at this location to check in, the lights at the front desk were turned off. There was not a hotel representative anywhere in sight. After waiting for 15 minutes, I began calling the hotel location in an attempt to speak to someone live. Unfortunately, I was the only one anywhere near the front desk to answer the phone. After 25 minutes […] of pondering about what I should do, since I had already prepaid for the nights stay, someone showed up. She lended no apologize for my excessively long wait to check in. At first, she had trouble finding my reservation, but as I helped her "read" the names in her pile, I was able to locate my reservation for her. She proceeded to check my photo ID before handed it back to me. She then handed me a piece of cardboard and said "Room 302" (at least she sort of smiled, finally.) We both sat there with blank looks on our faces before I asked her if she was ever going to give me any entry card to swipe so I can actually enter my room. After 35 minutes, I was finally able to go up to my room. I was once dissappointed again, as I opened the door. It smelled musty & like smoke. The appliances were dented & rusty. So much so, I was afraid to use anything. The beds were both very uncomfortable and the pillows flat. We had no soap or shampoo to shower or wash our hands. I went back down to the desk, just to find it dark again. Aggravated, I went back to my room to try and get some rest since it was getting pretty late. At 8am in the morning, I went back down to the desk to try and get some soap & shampoo. The front desk was still dark and I could hear someone snoring (yes, snoring) in the back office. I called to him/her several times with no response. I went back up to my room to try and call the desk, again there was no response. So, I went back down to the desk and found a gentleman helping another Customer. The Customer was checking out early for many of the same reasons I found myself highly dissatisfied with this hotel. This hotel is excellently located to go by bus into New York. Harmon Meadows is an attractive area. The hotel is in need of refurbishing-carpet badly soiled,towels are fair at best, no one on duty after 10 pm,the room is not made up each day and clean towels are only available by going down to the desk for them. 1. When I was checking in to the hotel the clerk was on the phone with someone trying to get booking information. The clerk got tired of talking to the person and simply hung up on them. I found this very disrespectful. I just imagined that could have been me on the other end of that line. 2. The room linins were never changed. 3. At one point at 11 […] pm I called the front desk with no answer. I then went down and the clerk had left with a sign saying they would be back “soon” with no time line. There was no one on staff and anybody could have walked in and done pretty much whatever they wanted. 4. Besides that the hotel very dirty and smelly. 5. We reserved a non-smoking room due to health reasons in our family. Our daughter has asthma and our son has allergies. Upon our arrival we had to wait an hour to get into our room even though we were told we could check in 3 hours prior. Once we were given access to our room, we were told the only available room was smoking. The entire floor and room […] we were in smelled horribly of smoke and made us very uncomfortable when in the room and sleeping. We were 9 hours from home and did not know where esle to stay, so we were stuck in a smelly room for 3 days. Would not recommend this hotel. Les mer

Hotel is pretty run down. Room carpeting is old and dirty and windows leaked, No hot water- it was tepid at best. Will not stay at this hotel again and do not recommend it

The Home stead Hotel is a long stay hotel, has basic kitchen facilities, full sized fridge, and a lounge area in the suite. It is not a 5* type of place, but fine for visiting NY. Laundry facilities are there, and the 320 bus to NY stops just outside the hotel. There is a big shopping centre two more stops further on the bus, great for self-catering […] travellers like ourselves. New York is just 20 mins or so away, you are dropped at the Port Authority, where there are Metro and Bus stops. Fares are about $7.50 return per day, less for seniors. New York cabbies sometimes don't want to go "interstate", so the bus is a handy and cheap alternative. Could recommend this to those who are prepared to stay at a less glamourous place, and spend the money on other goodies. Les mer

Close to bus line for transportation into NYC through Lincoln Tunnel. Close to restaurants, cinema, other venues such as shopping. We enjoyed our stay, and we never even had to drive on New York soil!!

pros - great location for the cost,very near to manhatten(direct bus). Con - had to walk 3 times to front desk from 3rd floor, since the key didnot work each time. Noisy refrigerator(didnt have the patience to work with front desk, just unplugged it, since didnot use it)

Location is great, 15 min to New York by catching the 320 bus just outside the Hotel. Not the cleanest of Hotels, some bugs found in room, not unexpected considering that across from the hotel is a green area. Overall if your looking for a good price hotel where you can sleep/take shower and don't mind some uncleanness this is the place.

a solo 50 mts del hotel tomas el autobus para NY y a unos 300 mts un centro comercial con puros locales de comida, en 15 minutos de NJ a NY en la mañana y a 20 de regreso NY NJ, si vas de NJ a NY en la tarde son mas de dos horas

Très bien situé dans le new jersey. Un bus passant environ toutes les 20minutes vous emmene en 15minutes au coeur de Manhattan (8dollars aller retour). Seul bémol: le dernier bus retour est à 1h du matin, ce qui est moyen pour profiter de la vie nocturne new-yorkaise. A moins d'être motivé pour attendre le 1er bus de 7h du matin! Cet hôtel présente un bel aspect extérieur, mais quelle déception en entrant. L'accueil est froid et expéditif, on trouve des serviettes sales dans tous les coins et l'aspirateur n'a sûrement pas été passé depuis plusieurs semaines. Le café et le jus offerts à l'entrée ont été dilué avec beaucoup d'eau. Des vieux journaux détrempés nagent près de la […] piscine, aucun nettoyage n'y a été fait pendant les 4 jours de notre séjour. Des baigneurs de nuit nous ont réveillé par leurs cris à 4h30 du matin alors que la piscine aurait dû être fermée. Les toilettes dans le corridor étaient extrêmement écoeurantes... Dans la chambre, aucun service pour avoir de nouvelles serviettes et quand on se présente à l'accueil, le personnel est absent. Après 4 jours, nous avions un amoncellement de serviettes trempées dans la salle de bains et les poubelles débordaient. Habituellement, nous nous accommodons facilement de ce que nous avons, mais la malpropreté nous dérange. Seuls points positifs : l'autobus passe à la porte et nous sommes à NY en 10 minutes et il y a quelques bons restaurants à côté. Sinon, à éviter... nous n'y retournerons pas c'est certain. Les mer

Man ist wirklich in 15 bis 20 Minuten am Times Square. Der Bus fährt vor der Hoteltür ab, Erwachsene kosten Hin und Zurück: ca. unter 8 $, Kinder bis 12: ca. unter 4 $. Die Zimmer sind tatsächlich nur mit dem Nötigsten ausgestattet, dafür sind sie sehr groß. Die Küche minimal bestückt, aber man kann sich gut Essen kochen. Das Hotel liegt in einem Einkaufsgebiet, […] Walmart liegt dicht am Hotel, sodass man sich auch gut für die Eigenversorgung ausrüsten kann. Wer´s edel mag, sollte ein anderes Hotel wählen (im Bereich Secaucus gibt es auch ein Hilton bei hotels.de), wer sein Geld lieber fürs Sightseeing und Museen ausgibt, findet eine billige annehmbare Unterkunft. Der Pool war bei unserem Besuch während der gesamten 5 Tage geschlossen. Schade, die müden Glieder hätten wir gerne entspannt. Les mer

Hotel razonable para quien necesita sólo una habitacion amplia. Ubicacion excelente para Nueva York: El servicio de bus 320 desde Port Authority es frecuente , muy bueno y los choferes muy gentiles. El viaje no toma mas de 20 minutos. Esta caracteristica hace de este hotel una muy buena opcion
