We love the Copper Wynd! It is the perfect place to unwind after a day of business meetings.. When you go up the mountain at the end of the day a peaceful place invites you in---great food and drink and the perfect place to get away from the "noisy" down the mountain. My wife and I had a pleasant experience at the CopperWynd. It was quiet and comfortable. It is a small hotel so there are not a whole lot of things to do. The gym was nice and large with lots of equipment. The hours of the restaurant were a bit limited (only open Tuesday through Saturday) as well as not having breakfast. But overall we enjoyed it.

We stayed at this resort over the holidays and had a wonderful time. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the resort is beautiful and very well kept. We most appreciated not being 'dinged' for extras like parking, wifi, water bottles etc. We would definitely stay here again. A beautiful facility, somewhat isolated from Phoenix. This was a nice escape for a few days. The room was clean and comfortable. Loved the fireplace. Nice and quiet. Pretty surrounding neighborhood. Would have like Pay-per-View option on the TV. Fitness center was excellent. Breakfast would be nice, but wasn't available.

Our family of 4, including 2 teenagers has just completed a visit to this hotel over Thanksgiving week. The rooms were comfortable, great views of the valleys and surrounding mountains. We also enjoyed the Alchemy restaurant located in the hotel, ate lunch or dinner there every day - there are entrees to satisfy almost any diet, we had vegetarians among […] us. Everything was tasty, well presented, very friendly staff. Nice variety of gym classes that kids could attend. Enjoyed spa, pool, hiking in the nearby McDowell mountains, and nightlife in Scottsdale. The reason for my lower rating of condition and upkeep is because we had to ask for things like soap and lotion. They were not automatically replenished by housekeeping. Nonetheless, we tipped housekeeping because it is the right thing to do. As well, for a high-end hotel, the lack of convenience of the restaurant was a bit disturbing. No breakfast, […] not open for dinner on Sunday and Monday. Why should guests have to go off-site for breakfast? Especially when the hotel is quite far away from restaurants. BTW, the fact that it was far away from other facilities, gave the hotel a great feel. It was quiet and because of the darkness, you could actually see the stars at night! CopperWynd is truly a gorgeous property. The landscaping surrounding the resort is truly an oasis. The hotel overlooks beautiful mountains and the views are breath taking. Great for business or pleasure.

The CopperWynd Resort was a fantastic place to stay. The scenery that we saw from our balcony was great. We watched the sun rise each day from the balcony and with the fireplace burning, it made for a great way to start the morning. Most of Fountain Hills' stores close at 8 PM though. Wow. This is a gorgeous property with views every where you turn. The room was large, clean and had everything we needed. The service at Alchemy was outstanding - and the view! The services at the spa we received were excellent, on time and relaxing. The pool was heated to perfection. I stayed at this hotel for 4 days while on a business trip. The location was beautiful, the rooms were cozy and the views were amazing. I'm impressed. Best place we have ever stayed in. It felt like we had the resort to ourselves. If you wished to eat in the restaurant the food staff and location was spectacular. We spent time dining on our balcony, and there is local shopping nearby to top up Your in room fridge etc. We saw many wild animals from our balcony . The resort is beatifull, the view is stunning. The room is nice and clean , and has acceptable futures, nice plush bed , comfortable to sleep, bathroom is specious and I liked the fact that there was plenty of towels, so there is no need to call for extra. The staff is plesent and accomodating. Upon check in I noticed that the room I was assigned was not meeting my request (second floor). We stayed here for one night as a romantic getaway staycation. The resort is located 45 minutes from our house but we felt as if we were in another state. The resort is quaint with less than 40 rooms, and it shows in the quiet serenity of the grounds. The hotel is attached to Alchemy restaurant - a perfect spot for a romantic dinner. They have 2 pools, one for families and another lap pool for adults only. There is also a hot tub on the grounds that is for adult use only. The highlight was the onsite spa that was one of the nicest I have been to. The massage and facial were both excellent, and the prices were very reasonable for a high-end spa. We spent the day in our bathing suits or plush robes and felt completely relaxed after a day of pampering. I can't wait to return to CopperWynd - it was truly a fantastic spot for some R&R. Les mer

A wonderful place to just hang about the pool in the sun, or to return-to after a day's long road trip to the Grand Canyon. We did both. Quiet, total silence on the balcony except the song birds launching from the nearby cacti. Staff and condo residents were very gracious and friendly. The clubhouse provides a spa, exercise room, friendly TV & newspaper couch circle, premium restaurant and a comfortable wine bar. We loved everything about the hotel except a very annoying issue with the air conditioner. It must have been broken because it made a loud clicking sound all night long! My husband and I hardly slept. We told the front desk upon checking out, but they did not seem too apologetic. The hotel reception desk was waiting for me when I arrived. The hotel location is stunning up on the mountain side overlooking Fountain Hills. The room was very comfortable, free wireless internet and a fabulous view. The resort and club are top-notch. Would highly recommend for a peaceful retreat.

My husband and I scheduled the CopperWynd as a concession for my attending the Spring Training Games. Sadly, the location for this purpose wasn't too convenient to the games we attended. The resort grounds are beautiful as were the views from our room. The weird thing was that it felt so empty. The Alchemy Restaurant on site (but not necessarily part […] of the resort) was a different experience. We attempted to get reservations for two different nights and were told they were booked. We were able to get the same menu in the lounge (great food!). When we finished eating, we took a short walking tour and ended up walking through the restaurant. There were only about 6 or 8 tables full, so we asked the receptionist why we weren't able to be seated. "We just don't know how many people will be here" was her lame excuse. The second strange occurrence was in attempting to schedule a pedicure. We went to the Spa desk to schedule--again no one was around--and he hesitated giving me a 2:00 appointment the following day. Why? They were pretty busy. Well, maybe a group i coming in tomorrow, but there was no one in the salon at all. It seems like it would be appropriate to say, "I'm sorry, we cannot accommodate you tomorrow at 2:00. However, we're not busy right now. Would you like to have a pedicure now?" Seems polite and professional to me. Anyway, the facility is beautiful. The people at the front desk were always very accommodating. If you want to be away from it all, try this place. If you don't mind driving to get breakfast or to a movie or other entertainment, this would be a nice place to stay. If you want quiet, it's perfect. If, however, you want to go to spring training games, you may want to consider someplace else. Les mer

The room was nice and clean with a beautiful view. Our first night the heater was not working and the shower only produced warm water (not hot enough!). After complaining the next day, both problems were fixed in a couple of hours. The lighting in the bathroom was terrible and the remote control for the tv was very complicated and would shut off the […] tv in the middle of viewing. We were disappointed that the room did not have a microwave. Despite these complaints we had a wonderful stay. The view and grounds were wonderful and it was a very peaceful getaway. There was also a very nice hike in the desert that started right from the resort. After we checked out a staff member called to let us know we left our cell phone. The view was great and it was a quiet and cozy setting. This is a great place for those wishing to get away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. I am recommending the resort because of the cleanliness and attractiveness of the facility. The reason I'm giving The CopperWynd an "ok" rating is because of a few things that we found to be a negative. It is a very nice and clean resort with friendly staff. However, the restaurant is closed two days a week, so if you happen to be there those two days, […] you will have to go off the premises to dine. There is no room service and no breakfast served, except for a pantry type area to buy a danish, and there is free coffee. Also, you cannot charge to your room. The poolside bar is also closed two days a week and also other times. You do need a car to get around as well. If those things really aren't important to you, then you might find this resort just fine. Les mer

This was a weekend birthday trip. The hotel staff were all very helpful especially Myra, she went out of her way to find us some brunch possibilities since the CopperWynd had recently stopped offering theres. The hotel is a bit away from the Scottsdale area but the drive is worth it. There are many hiking trails right by the hotel and the property has […] a full gym, with a lap pool and lots of tennis courts. The view from your balcony is very nice. Fresh water bottles are put in your room every day and if you need more, then all you have to do is ask. It is a bit of a drive but it is very close to the 101 which gets you right to any of the Scottsdale area attractions. All in all it was a very nice stay, very relaxing and welcoming hotel staff. My wife and I choose to stay at boutique hotels. The Surry in New York, Jade Mountain in St. Lucia, and now Copperwynd. The staff was very nice, the room was clean with a very nice view. Quiet and peaceful. I was there on business, so it took me 45mins to get where I needed to go from the hotel, but well work the drive to stay here.

This is a destination spa type resort with fantastic views. Small enough to fit my more B&B type personality. Very close to the beautiful Taliesin West, which is especially enchanting at night. Also, CopperWynd is on the outskirts of Scottsdale, so wonderfully quiet, yet close enough to the Scottsdale activities if you desire them.

I actually live in North Scottsdale, and was looking for a romantic getaway near home, with stunning views and a great ambience. Resort rooms have a great view, but the room was dirty,carpet stained, furniture from the 50's ( not a southwest decor or any decor at all ) Lighting awful, screen to patio broke. Unable to charge food to room at restaurant or by pool. Restaurant food all alacart and overpriced for the quality.But a nice view ! Did not use Spa. Pool was clean and also […] a nice view. What a gorgeous hotel. Our room was beautiful and included a fireplace and balcony overlooking a hiking path and the hotel's back patio area. We arrived in Phoenix late in the evening and thankfully we called beforehand because there isn't a 24 hour front desk. We talked to someone named Sue who planned to meet us at the hotel when we arrived to give […] us our keys and hotel information. Having her come out at midnight to do this was definitely appreciated. My one qualm with the hotel was the over-eagerness of the cleaning staff. I put the 'do not disturb' door handle sign out so that we could sleep in a little but about 7am someone, presumedly from housekeeping tried to come in anyway. Thankfully the deadbolt was on so they couldn't get in! We checked out the facilities of the hotel like the gym and pool but unfortunately we were too busy to use them during our stay. We did get to check out the restaurant at the hotel and that alone is worth recommending. Great food, beautiful views and a very friendly staff. Overall, I would love to stay there again. Les mer

Terrific location - high up on the hill and a great view of Fountain Hills and the mountain from any unit. Very small resort - intimate. Huge gym. Room linens could use an update, but the room was big and the bathroom very large. Excellent value.

This resort was luxurious without being the least bit pretentious. The staff was nice, but down to earth. No one put on false faces to take care of us. The staff was always friendly and there when we needed them, but not "over the top" or obsequious. We loved being able to walk out the door and hike in the desert in several directions, all well marked […] trails with stunning vistas. The room was nicely furnished in a tasteful manner. It was impeccably clean and everything worked (although the bathroom fan was a little noisy). Every room has a view and an above average amount of privacy. The hotel/resort is set back in a beautiful, quiet location just outside Scottsdale. The set up of the hotel part is a little odd because the "front" desk was/is downstairs from the grand entrance. But after a friendly waitress pointed us in the right direction, we found check-in smooth and easy.

The hotel surpassed my expectations. Upon arrival, the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and luxurious. The view was fantastic! Overall, just a pleasurable experience.

The only downsided is that the resort is located away from dining. The health club and facilities were outstanding. Most high end hotels or resorts charge a fee to particpate in classes or use their fitness center, this is NOT the case a Copperwynd. The mountain beauty and quite atmosphere will make this location worth while.
