God, newly renovated hotel in the old town. Close to a number of resturants and bars. Very good service and room standard.

Situated in the midle of old Zurich, with walking distance to the finance area, W is perfect for me. Free internet, that works, ok breakfast and reasonable rates. They even ironed 3 shirts for me, collected and brought back to my room same evening, for no extra charge... I will be back!

Gammelt hotell. Rommet vi fikk var stort men møblene var slitte - spesielt to lenestoler med fillete skitne trekk som ikke innbød til å sitte i. Elles var det rent og badet var ok. Ventilasjon var en vifte som ikke var til særlig hjelp i den varmen som var da jeg var der.Videre sto det i våre papirer at det var kaffe/tekoker tilgjengelig på rommet, […] men da vi spurte etter kaffe for det var bare te der så fikk vi beskjed om at de kun hadde te og aldri hadde hatt kaffe. Videre sto det gratis vann på rommet i vår informasjon. Det var en liten flaske vann som sto på bordet bår vi kom. Dette er misvisende opplysninger etter min mening for de sa det var kun dene ene flasken. Personalet var profesjonelle og hyggelige. Frokosten ok. Les mer

Bra hotell; Bra frokost, bra senger, fine bad, bra personell og bra service. Hotellet ligger midt i den gamle bydelen, i en gågate. Rom ut mot gaten er ikke å anbefale, da det blir endel støy fra gaten utenfor.

Et utmerket hotell som vi trivdes veldig godt i. Vennlig personale, fine rom, fantastisk beliggenhet midt i den gamle delen av Zürich, med gåavstand til de fleste severdigheter. Kan absolutt anbefales!

Arrived after midnight with children, I got the key before the paperwork was done to bring the children to bed. Hugh room! Nice beds. Well located in walking distance to the old city etc. The breakfast was not the nicest one and they didn't fill up with hot water, glasses etc. But overall a nice place for a family to stay with children.

Vi bodde her fra 29. juni til 3. juli. Med 30 - 32 grader ute, ble det svært varmt på rommet. To bordvifter stod på hele natten. Hotellet hadde hyggelig betjening, bra frokost og flott beliggenhet midt i gamlebyen. Det er gangavstand fra jernbanen, og lett å finne fram. Frokost på takterasse for dem som ønsker det. Vi fikk byttet rom etter en natt, […] og fikk da et bra rom. Der er ulike rom og størrelser. Prisnivået i Zurich er alt for høyt. En enkel lunsj med to glass billig vin + kaffe koster fort kr. 600,- og en middag for to med god vin, uten dessert kom på kr. 1.200,-. En kopp kaffe på en fortausresturant kostet normalt ca kr. 40,-. Baren på hotellet var billigere enn gjennomsnittet i byen. Dagskort på tog/trikk/båt var billig og kostet kun CFR 16,-. Dette gjaldt også på den svevebanen vi tok. Les mer

I booked a superior room, and I asked the reception to confirm that the roomk was a'nice room'. In fact the room was miserable, in the eves with a very small window that was overlooked by a roof terrace of the block directly opposite. Breakfast was just passable. I won't be staying there again!

The hotel was acceptable in terms of comfort, price, and convenience. The stay was memorable for the delightful receptionist, Karin, who had a lovely smile and gave my daughter plenty of free chocolate Easter eggs!

This is one of the best hotels I've been in Europe. I am mid-twenties American in the military and I absolutely loved this hotel. Great way to spend two nights with your loved one. My girlfriend was also impressed with the style and decor and friendliness of the concierge. Very helpful. Breakfast was decent and the locality to a variety of bars and […] restauraunts was a plus. The price was just right for the room size and the ammenities available. The only downside is that there is no immediate designated parking. You can stop in front of hotel to check-in/check-out, but long term is a 5 minute walk away over the river at uriahanas park house which was 44 Euro a day.....don't park in any other because they charge 2 euro per 15 minutes after 3 hours. We were in Zurich for our first visit and looking for a nice place at a reasonable rate. The Wellenberg was perfect. It is a one minute stroll to the river, and in the middle of prime shopping and restaurant options. A delightfully spacious room (204) overlooking the square below. Modern facilities and a good quality restaurant. We were made most welcome. The walk from the station with heavy suitcases was a challenge, but our taxi driver to the airport was the nicest chauffeur ever! And the snow made it magical!

We were thrilled when we arrived at Wellenberg. Our room was large and clean. The bathroom was also roomy and had all of the amenities. It was a quick 20 minute walk from Zurich Hofbahn and located in the heart of Zurich"s historic old city. First time we have used Hotels.com and will again. On arrival we had been upgraded to a larger room, in the garret on the 5th floor (elevator so no baggage worries) overlooking the local square. First of all, this is a 3 star hotel, 3.5 max, not 4 stars at all. Secondly, make sure you don't think that a "deluxe" room is a - deluxe - room, because it really isn't. We thought that we were getting a better room because we booked a deluxe, but turns out that the deluxe is a SMALLER room than the standard. When we inquired about this, we were told […] that the reason for deluxe was because of the "modern furniture of course". Not sure why it is "of course", because in my mind deluxe means more than just more modern furniture, so make sure you do NOT get a deluxe queen, get a standard two twin. The location is very central and easy walking to places, but yes there is a red-light district a block away. However it didn't bother us as we just went the other way. The breakfast staff was very nice however one of the check ladies didn't think we understood German, and when we brought up the issue of the whole deluxe/no deluxe room she complained about us on the phone with the reception after showing us a standard room which we preferred (much bigger). Quite weird and rude, and when I told her in German that I did understood what she was saying about us, she got very defensive. Should be reprimanded. Would I stay there again? Well, only if it was MUCH cheaper than 4 star alternatives, and I would always think that it was a 3 star, not 4 star. (I wonder who gave them that 4th star...?) Les mer

we enjoyed our short stay at the Wellenberg - the staff were personable, accommodating and very helpful. the room was nice- well laid out, comfy bed and great view (we were at the back of the hotel, so had a view of the roofs of other buildings and mountains). Only slight issue with the room was that it was a bit stuffy (no AC), but this was easily […] solved by opening the window to get some fresh air! Room temperature couldn't be adjusted on a per room basis. The humidity was so bad and we were so hot at night. The room only came with a full comforter and fitted sheet, so sleeping with a comfortable temperature was impossible. Rooms and hotel were really clean. Breakfast was great! This hotel has a good location to downtown and is in Old Zurich. However, it is in a questionable are because of "Red Light" activity and near some sleezy bars..The rooms are very small and the outside noise is very loud at night because of all the restaurants, bars and foot traffic at all hours. Paid for the mini suite. The room was huge. So was the tv. The location was a 10. The king bed great. Great customer service at the front desk. Ordered more towels and they arrivied in minutes Not one complaint. I probably won't go back to Zurich because now I have seen it. But if I did this is the place I would stay

The hotel overlooks a bar and restaurant. Late night noise and revelry will go on beyond 2 Am on weekdays and weekends. Not a good choice if you want to sleep with your windows open in a European hotel with no AC. If you do stay here, make sure that yuo do not get a room facing the square outside.

The hotel is both near the railway station and bus terminus but is also in the old part of the city which is lovely. I always stay there when going to Zurich on business. Dozens of restaurants line Niederdorf strasse outside. It has everything.

The location of the hotel is outstanding and, in my opinion, cannot be beat. The amenities in the room in which we stayed were nothing particularly spectacular, but the size was surprisingly large for any intercity hotel (European or otherwise), and there was a good sized bathtub that was completely unexpected. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed in July when the weather was quite warm and although the room was not air conditioned, a fan was provided and coupled with the outside shutters made the room comfortable. As with other hotels we stayed at in Europe, the bed covering was a fairly thick duvet which we had to remove from its cover for comfort sake. The rooms are small but very comfortable. I had a room that was opposite the square so it was very peaceful. The breakfast room with terrace is a great way to start the day.

The cleanliness and quality of service was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel had a breakfast room, a bar and a restaurant which were also good. The most notable aspect of this hotel is it's superb location right in the middle of the old town with all it's character and many restaurants, bars and shops only steps away. The Bahnhoffstrasse […] is only a short walk across one of the bridges. We loved our room, which was large, clean and very stylish. Our room had a computer in it, as well as great internet access. The location makes it a challenge to get to the hotel, at least by car, and there is practically no place to park. The hotel is within walking distance of most of the sights and the lake, so it is well situated (if you like to […] walk). We liked everything about the hotel except the noise.
