Benytt hotellet til ALT av avtaler - de ordner opp. Gangavstand til alt man trenger, under 1 minutt til Nanjing rd. Men drosje og metro er billig, enkelt og trygt. Meget greit hotel i Shanghai med store rom. Perfekt beligenhet med kort vei til The Bund og rett ved Nanjing Road.

It's really very nice all the staffs are very very helpful and friendly the place is very comfortable and very close to shopping area and restaurant also the place is very safe and near to the metro rail

One street over from the Najing street strip. Excellent room and fantastic location. My only complaint is that I booked a king bed "view" room and they wanted to give me a dble bed "no-view" room. The said the rooms were overbooked. After a bit of complaining, I finally go what I ordered. Also, if you don't like the expensive buffet breakfast, there's […] a Mcdonalds and KFC with 5 mins walk. This hotel is wonderful! It is a genuine 5 star hotel. We were staying for 6 nights and on arrival received a free upgrade to a kingsize room. The room was big and impressively furnished. The bed was so comfortable and all staff very polite and helpful. Has a lovely indoor pool and gym. Wifi in room. Paid a deposit of 200rmb for the use of the wifi […] router and the money was returned when we left. It is in a fabulous location, walking distance to the bund, museum, right near the pedestrian shopping street, train station etc. Highly recommend this hotel - no other hotel on this trip to China measured up to this one. good location, the rooms is very nice, but the prices of the resturant are similer to the most expensive places at Paris or New york. the room service not good and they try to manipulate on evry order.

Excellent location 1/2 block from Nanjing Rd. The hotel is elegant and worth the reasonable price. When you check in they'll ask you if you'd like to include breakfast for an extra 600RMB (about $100USD). Don't go for it - you can buy b'fast for 2 for $60USD at the lobby buffet but I recommend the Sofitel buffet across the street at the same price. […] It's much better if you want a western style b'fast. Of course there are far less expensive options for Chinese breakfasts everywhere. But the hotel is highly recommended. The rooms are large, the beds comfortable and the internet is free. It's wired internet but they'll loan you a wifi access point to plug in in your room. When we return to Shanghai we will stay there again. Les mer

I chose this hotel based on glowing reports from other reviews. They were well substantiated. The interior has an old world type feel yet grand. The bedroom was huge by usual standards and the fit out and accoutrements were not wanting in any way. The breakfast meal and dinner which I took were of acceptable standards, but not exceptional. The staff […] were clearly very helpful, and one had to be careful and patient in conversation. The only downturn I experienced was when I went into the close-by upmarket shopping area. As an unaccompanied male tourist I was immediately set upon by touts every few metres trying to foist escorts or watches on me. It was a rather trying adventure and caused me to abandon any thought of further browsing or shopping. The touts encountered in other tourist locations were manageable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Most amenities were free especially wifi. If you want to avail of the wifi, you just have to pay RMB200 to rent the unit to make it wifi capable then money will be refunded once you return the TP link to them. It is accessible to the metro. Very good location - shopping and metro is just behind the corner. Big, clean rooms and very friendly, nice staff. Gym was also nice and clean if you want to do some training while traveling. Breakfast buffet is super! Definately will go again if going back to Shanghai.

We went to Shanghai with my husband to visit our son, who is studying in Shanghai. We like the Grand Central hotel very much. We got 2 rooms of A 42 SQ. METER AND CITY VIEW.. One room on our FIRST night, . On our 2nd night, we got another room for our son. I requested a room beside us. The receptionist said there is NONE. So we went up. When we got […] inside, the room was small and no city view. I went down to complain to him and showed him my hotel voucher. Upon seeing the voucher, he change the room to a 42 square meter and city view. To our surprise, the room was now even beside us. Les mer

Very spacious hotel room w quality amenities; good gymn and sauna facility; friendly and efficient staff; excellent location.

This hotel is in an exceptional location right off of the Nanjing Road pedestrial walkway and minutes walking distance from the Bund. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are large and the cleaning service is exception (2 times per day). The only complaint I have about this hotel and why I don't think it is quite a western 5-star is the concierge service […] is not good enough. My wife could not understand their Mandarin and I could not understand their English well. They are not set up to provide good enough information to travelers. Thus, if you are expecting to learn about Shanghai when you get there and not do any pre-research you will be disappointed. Eventually I figured everything out on my own but was disappointed in the Hotel in this regard. Also the business centre is VERY expensive to use. The hotel provides free internet access in the rooms so that is reasonable but no wifi. I would go again and I would highly recommend it! Les mer

Great location. Shops, metro all within 1-2 block radius. No need to get breakfast meal plan as there were plenty places to eat breakfast for much less. Beds were plush and they provided both soft and firm pillow options. Daily maid service was immaculate. We tried the breakfast buffet one morning and it was tasteless and needless to say poor. Yes there […] was a variety, but either it was too oily or too bland. The people working the check in counter were terrible. I stood in front of him for 5 minutes as if I didn't exist before he asked if I needed assistance. They don't smile or have any appreciation for their work or their guests. Overall I was happy with my stay, but please someone show them how to put on a smile. Les mer

It's quite not comfortable to stay in this hotel because of too dry and no air Con for us to adjust the temperature inside the room but heater only.

Stay for 5 nites and really enjoy those stays as hotel is given to u a standard of elegant, comfort, convenience and good service... The lobby is said to be decorated as a Grand Hall feel just like my stay in one of the Duabai's hotel. Hotel decoration is great so you would imagine the big and erotic city of Shanghai throughout the past and present. […] Room is big enough and clean and comfort while toilet is built half side of the room. At 4.5 stars, I expected a nice hotel, This hotel rates 5 stars for me. The room was clearly better than the so called 5 star room in Hong Kong that was a lot more expensive.

Great value for the service and location, only a block away from the busy mall. Taxi is available at the door step.

We stayed two nights at the Grand Central Hotel Shanghai and I could not express how impressed we were with this hotel and it's staff. The hotel is very nicely located near the Bund and upon arrival, we were greeted by very friendly staff at the front doors. It is truly a beautifu and very clean hotel. I was a bit concerned about not being given a room […] with a King bed, but upon arrival, but this turned out to be a non-issue. The room was superb and very beautiful with a lovely view of the courtyard below. I did have a minor issue with an electrical outlet when I plugged in my adaptor. The power went out in our room, but this was my fault and not the hotel. A maintentance staff person was in our room in just minutes and reset the breaker and even showed me how to use the correct adaptor. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone and the price is very wonderful given the 4-5 star rating of the hotel. Les mer

The Grand Central Hotel in Shanghai lies adjacent to the renowned Nanjing road with all the shopping you can dream of. Spacious and clean rooms with a highly trained and service minded staff.

Had an extremely satisfying stay at the Grand Central - the pics online don't do it justice. It was a nice relaxing escape after a busy day in the city. Excellent location with lots to do nearby. Room service was delicious!

I was a little leary booking this hotel at first due to the fact it was was not one of the bigger chains. However, I did read some of the reviews and decided to take a chance. the lobby staff is not pleasant and they are very often confused with credit cards, payments, receipts etc ... BUT VERY GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY

Arrived early and room was unfortunately not ready - but that is to be expected. Would recommend this luxury hotel to anybody, mostly because of a very good relationship between price, comfort and service.

Great stay at the Grand Central - staff was friendly, the room was well-appointed with many extra touches (e.g. Hershey's kisses with turn down service), well-equipped gym and fantastic location within 2 minutes' walk of metro and Nanjing pedestrian road. Overall, excellent value for money - I would choose to stay there again

absolutely amazing, couldn't have asked for more, 30 sec walk to subway, in center of Nanjing Rd shopping area, hotel was immaculate

Excellent rooms with two double beds. Definitely works for pleasure or business. Outstanding rooms and location to the Bund.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel in Shanghai! The lobby and common areas are beautiful. The rooms were very clean, beds exceedingly comfortable and the bathrooms were luxurious. The concierge was very helpful with getting taxis and making dinner reservations. The location is a block from the East Nanjing metro stop on line 2, which was the quickest […] way to get anywhere. I stayed at the Grand Central in Shanghai for 9 days so i had quite a bit of time to think about my experience. I went for a wedding and many guests were either at the Grand Central, Hyatt on the Bund or Peninsula. The GC is honestly a very nice 5 star hotel. The hyatt does not have as nice as an interior and the premium for the Hyatt is really only […] for the view of Pudong and the roof bar and such. Good neighborhood, right near the pedestrian street of nanjing lu. literally across from it. Beware though, because that very proximity to Nanjing Lu makes it very difficult to find a taxi in the evening. Service is top notch but the food and drink are pricey but that is to be expected. Beds are very clean and comfortable and the gym and pool are also spa quality. Staying at a good hotel is all the more relevant in Shanghai because as a foreigner you'll probably need a safe haven at night to escape the mayhem of 24 million people and extreme heat. Les mer

The hotel room and experience was great. The room and bathroom were excellent. The buffet staff service on the lobby level was poor.

Very nice hotel in a good location. Seems that the rooms have been decorated by the people who did the Venetian in Macao as it is virtually identical even down to the complimentary toiletries offered in the bathroom etc. so if you have stayed at the Venetian and liked it then you will like the rooms here too most probably. Directly across the corner […] from the pedestrian mall that runs from The Bund up to The People's Square where the subway is (approx 2 blocks - not too far). Lots of shops and eateries in the mall. I walked a few streets over the other side and it has a lot more local shops and eateries which I enjoyed a bit more than the more commercial and western places in the main strip. Was on in Shanghai for one night but still enjoyed walking around etc which was so easy from the hotel location. Breakfast didn't come with our room rate and was too expensive also the buffet tea was very pricey and if you are vegetarian like me you won't find much for your money there. But other than that, nice hotel, good location, worth the money?? - probably a bit expensive but nice for a night. Les mer
