The Westin is expensive, but much nicer than the "sister" Sheraton next door. It's quiet, well-appointed and comfortable, and makes the Sheraton look kind of seedy. Of course, it's newer, too. The restaurant was good for breakfast and not too $$$$. We walked into downtown Palo Alto using the pedestrian underpass at the train station. There's a small […] pool and exercise room, it's close to Scott's Seafood at Town & Country Village and all the restaurants downtown. Stanford Shopping Center and the University are right across the street (El Camino Real). The Westin is one of the finest hotels in Palo Alto, and that comes at a price. Les mer
"Great location"
This lovely hotel is situated close to Stanford, downtown Palo Alto and the Caltrain station. The staff were very helpful. The rooms even have chargers for iPhones!

Very nice Hotel very prompt service and very clean. Only issue pool and hot tub close at 10pm. If traveling for business its nice to be able after a long day to take a swim after 10pm
"Perfect spot to visit Stanford campus"
My son and I stayed at the Westin to visit the Stanford campus and the hotel was delightful. The staff was friendly and very responsive to all our needs and recommended excellent spots to dine. The room was very clean and luxurious and the buffet breakfast was phenomenal, even the fresh fruit. I look forward to returning here in the future.

Great service and value. Nice location walkable to University Ave shops and restaurants. Was convenient access to Stanford University events as well.

We were in town for a funeral in Los Altos and this hotel was in a great location...15 min away...also great shopping and dining within walking distance...hotel staff were helpful and very friendly...rooms also comfortable and clean...very large bathroom...woud recommend this hotel.

Stayed 2 nights over the Christmas holidays -- lovely lovely hotel. Myself, my daughter and our German Shepherd found the hotel to be warm and welcoming. Holiday decorations were lovely as was the hotel restaurant -- everything was WONDERFUL!

The Westin Palo Alto is a wonderful hotel. I can't wait to go back. We got there early and they let us check in which was fabulous. The location is perfect, close to the mall. We also had dinner there and it was wonderful.

"Friendly staff"
I stayed at this hotel after a medical procedure where I needed to be on bedrest. All the staff was very accommodating and friendly. The hotel was fully booked the nights we were there, and we still got surprisingly fast service. Room service was great, and the staff was wonderful!

"Great, but noisy"
The heavenly bed was so comfortable, the room was nice, but it could do with some sound proofing. The kids next door started shouting and playing around 7am, so there was no sleeping in for us. Location cannot be beat if you're looking for a place close to downtown and Stanford campus.
Nice hotel, near Stanford and restaurants. Confortable beds, excellent service. We needed a handicap accessable room and this hotel had the perfect room as well as a wheelchair.

"Near Stanford"
This hotel is a A+ in every sense. While it isn't cheap to stay here, everything about the stay is first class. The food in the dining room is an A++++. Everyone is friendly and accommodating.

We stayed at the Westin in Palo Alto this weekend because we came to see Stanford University and take a tour of the campus. We liked that the hotel was just up the street from the visitor center. The hotel is small, but very nice and we had a nice stay. Thank you! PZ

The hotel staff was very accommodating and the facility was very good. Right across the street from Stanford University - great access. Highly recommend
My only complaints would be the trek my family had to take to reach our room. We felt like rats in a maze. Who designed this place. There was an endless zig zag of corridors to reach our room. Also the sound proofing is not the best and early in the morning I could have sworm someone was walking in our room. It was however from another room - either […] above or beside our room. Other than that, rooms spotless and very comfortable - especially the heavenly bed. Difficult to control the room temperature in the evening. Smoke free hotel, but the parking garage had heavy smoke smell. Resented $10 parking charge for guests. Les mer

"Disappointed"
The hotel was booked by a convention of high school debaters. The pool and hot tub were filled with kids. Very unpleasant as my wife and I could not relax day or night. The hotel restaurant is overpriced. Main courses $35. Quality is okay, but not worth the money. And the bar has only four seats, all uncomfortable. I rather stay at the Crown Plaza […] down the road. While not a luxurious, it has better facilities for guests. Les mer

I was very satisfied with the hotel. I could stay there the next time too. I just thought the breakfast buffet was expensive relative to other hotels I stayed, but I only did that on the first day of my trip. Then, there are many options at Palo Alto, which is the city where Stanford University is. Or at the intersection of El Camino Real and Embarcadero, […] there is a complex with stores, Jamba Juice, CVS and other eating places. That is why I was very satisfied with the location of the hotel. Also, it is close to the Palo Alto Caltrain station. Les mer

"Those additional charges"
Got a $33 charge a couple of days after leaving the hotel, and after I checked-out and everything was settled. It really gets to your nerve this feeling that the hotels are out to charge for whatever they can. I do not give my credit card so that they can charge whatever they want whenever they want. "They failed to provide me a room"
They did not hold my room for me. When I arrived they told me it was my lucky day, and I would be upgraded for my whole stay. Early in the morning, they kicked me out of my room because they claimed someone else had it reserved that night. I had no place to work that day, since no other room was clean in time; it was a disaster. When I came back later […] that day to check in for the second day, they added insult to injury by putting me in the same room they had kicked me out of. I won't stay here again. Les mer
