Koselig og særpreget gammel pub ved elven, 5-10 min.å gå til sentrum.Ved park/naturområde. Like ved det største universitetet. Fine, nyopppussede rom i 2.etasje, rent og flott, meget bra bad. Hyggelig betjening. God frokost med flere valgmuligheter, middagsservering til kl.21.

Hotellet ligger svært sentralt i Swindon sentrum, og var helt glimrende. Rolige omgivelser og rolige tilstander på hotellet. Dette hotellet anbefales!

Fikk rommet allerede ved adkomst kl 11.30 , det var deilig siden turen hadde begynt 04.30 i Oslo. Rommet var lite men rent og ordentlig. Koselig lobby . Grei bellighenhet i forhold til flybusser og med Oxford sentrum i umiddelbar nærhet.

"A gem of a hotel!"
This hotel is situated in a lovely area of England! The hotel itself was very comfortable, clean and accomadating. We loved the exercise room and pool. We didn't eat at the hotel, so I can't tell you about the food, but if it is of the quality of the rest of the hotel, I'm sure it is delicious!

"Great Hotel"
Breakfast lovely, room comfortable and clean, one little complaint, a few trays of dirty dishes were left oustide the lifts upstairs waiting for the cleaners to collect them - but they were there all eveneing and night and were still there the next morning. Perhaps they were short staffed on the night

"Initial Hiccup"
I was eventually impressed by this hotel but my early experience was not good. We checked in at about 5 p.m. on Saturday. We noticed a wedding was being held at the hotel but thought nothing about it. After going out and returning later at about 10.30 p.m. we became aware that our room was situated directly above the room where the reception was being […] held and a loud disco and later a band was thumping away in through the floor. I waited till 11 p.m. and phoned down to the reception to enquire when the party was due to finish and was told 1 a.m. I was told that the hotel was aware earlier that we had been put in the room above the function room but they had no other rooms available. The manager eventually contacted me and I expressed my dismay and he eventually found another room for us at the other end of the hotel. This turned out to be a large suite with an enormous bed, a sofa and chair and a dining table. So from a dodgy start we ended up having a pleasant stay. Les mer

"Another Good Stay"
This is my third stay at this hotel in the last year or so. I've previously reviewed it and I still think it's a good hotel, but there were a couple of things I noticed on this visit that made we want to come back and add another review. First the good news. This hotel has listened to one of the reviews below. The bar has indeed installed a beer tap […] serving the local Wychwood Brewery 'Hobgoblin' ale. Kudos. This is a good move. But there are a couple of bad points to be made. First, the room I was in this time is just tired. There were pieces of plaster missing from the wall, faded paint work, and a really old tube style TV that several of the channels didn't work on. The water pressure in the shower was just terrible also. I really think it's time for a refurbishment of this hotel. It's all a bit 1995. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, is what I witnessed between one of the bar staff and their manager. There was a wedding party booked in for the evening and following day. One of them requested an ashtray to take outside. Lacking an actual ashtray, the employee provided the guest with a saucer instead. The guest seemed content with this and went on his way. However, once the guest was out of sight, the bar manager began to yell at the employee at how stupid that idea was and how stupid the employee was. Unaware that I was sat in the corner of the bar, this went on for a few minutes, until I got up for a refill. The manager then disappeared quickly. I find that behaviour wholly unacceptable, to the point where I would reconsider staying here again if there were any decent local competition to this hotel. There isn't, but it's obvious that the hotel management need training on how to manage people and value their employees. As I left the bar, I tipped the employee well. She did a fine job of keeping it together despite being chewed out by her terrible boss. Les mer

"Oxford Witney Four Pillars"
The room was clean and comfortable. However, one side of the double bed was by the low sloping ceiling which meant having to bend from the waist to get in and out that side! Also the evening lighting was not bright enough for applying make-up. The bathroom was bright enough , but the mirror was too far away for my short sightedness! "Just a couple of improvements to make"
This is my second stay at this hotel; this time I stayed for 5 nights over an extended weekend. First off, I must commend the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. No matter what time of day or night, Haydn seemed to be at the front desk smiling a beautiful smile and being as helpful as every. The bar staff and room service staff are polite, […] quick, and perform their work to a high standard. The room was comfortable. I had a King bed, which was actually two twins pushed together. This meant there was a dip in the middle of the bed which took some getting used to, but it didn't bother me. I ordered room service once. It was delivered quickly with a smile, and the food was hot. I also ate once in the bar, and drank there a couple of times. The menu is quite varied and of good quality. The bar is a little pricey, but is very convenient. As one other reviewer mentioned below, though, it seems ridiculous that they don't offer any of the locally brewed beers from Wychwood. They really should! I have a couple of minor complaints, however. First is the noise level in the hotel. It's generally quite quiet, but I could clearly hear any noise going on in the corridor outside my room, as if there was no door there. So a couple of times when some drunk guests came back to their rooms late, I was awoken and disturbed, and the noise of doors opening and closing is abrupt and loud. It's not a deal breaker, but if they just added some insulation around the doors, and put some thicker, more sound proof doors on the hinges, it would make the experience that much quieter. The second issue is the shower. It's not a power-shower by any means. In fact the water pressure was really quite terrible, and the hot/cold balance very very sensitive! Again, not a deal breaker, but after travelling for 18 hours before arriving, a nice, hot, relaxing shower would have done wonders! Overall, I would say that I'll definitely stay at this hotel again. The breakfast was expensive but very good. The hotel was a 20 minute walk from the centre of Witney and the bus stop for Oxford.

Very Impressed. All staff friendly and cheerful. Convienient location (5 - 10 Mins walk to town center). clean tidy rooms, Nice swimming pool also has a gym but never used gym. would certainly recommend. :-)

Comfortable hotel, but a fair walk from shops, restaurants etc so best suited to business travellers. Dinner at the hotel did not represent good value and was average. Wine expensive. Buffet breakfast had great selection, but much of the hot food wasn't ! Spa treatments a waste of money. Hotel doesn't have a spa it sub-contracts to a beauty spa who […] visits and operates from one of the bedrooms. Not ideal. We got a good deal through this site, but I'd feel totally ripped off if I had paid their rack rate. Les mer

"Good but lacking"
My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of September. The room was of ample size, clean and comfortable, although we did find the be to be rather small for a 'King' size bed. The hotel amenities were convenient and clean. We didn't eat at the restaurant but the bar was well stocked and well served and reasonably priced. My only wish […] is that they would stock some of the excellent Wychwood beverages that are locally brewed and are of excellent quality. The room does lack some basic amenities though, air conditioning being the biggest. Our room was on the south east side of the hotel, thus got a lot of sun during the day. This heated the room up considerably and even with the windows open all night (which makes it very noisy considering it is right next to the A40), it would not cool down, thus the temperature was consistently uncomfortable. Also, on the our last night there, a group of very noisy youngsters checked in and were running around the corridor outside our room, making a lot of noise until the early hours of the morning. Several complaints to reception didn't seem to make much of a difference; at no point did we hear any staff come up to the rooms and enforce some peace and quiet. I would stay here again since it is so very convenient for visiting family and at a good price, but Four Pillars need to update the rooms a bit, get some A/C in there. Les mer
"Comfortable and Cosy for a Chain Hotel"
Very Comfortable Cosy pleasant stay for middle of the road local chain of hotels. Had stayed here twice before for both business and leisure so would recommend for both types of stays. Friendly staff. However, they seemed to lack customer care skills on the basic stuff at times. At both bar meals staff started to clear plates whilst others were […] eating. I find this quite rude to have arms intruding across the table. At another meal, 3 of 12 meals and all side orders were not served until the first of us had finished! We were compensated by a free round of drinks and an apology but I think the issue was just lack of training and using temporary staff employed because of a bank holiday. "A relaxing stay"
We arrived quite late in the evening and the reception staff couldn't have been friendlier! After checking into our room we ventured down to the bar for a restorative drink. It's a good job that we weren't dying of thirst as the bar tender was extremely slow! Although he was very friendly I did think that the 'Bar Supervisor' should be able to open […] a bottle of wine in less than 10 minutes! When we asked for an ice bucket to keep our wine chilled we got firstly a puzzled look, and then when I explained what I wanted we got a bucket filled to the top with warm water and some ice cubes! Our room was very nice with lots of space. It was very well equiped with everything that we needed for our 3 night stay. We swam in the hotel pool 3 times during our stay and it was very nice. The only criticism that I can find with the pool was the cleanliness - the tiles around the edge of the pool were quite dirty and could have done with a daily scrub. The hotel is situated a short drive from the centre of Witney and the hotel staff were more than willing to help you find any destination that you were after. All in all I would recommend this hotel as the good points far outweigh the bad. Les mer

My husband booked the hotel based on web site descriptions. We were pleasantly surprised by how clean our room was. Based on this experience we would stay again. Hotel has internet access but you need your own computer. We were not travelling with ours and no other option available. We arrived late, after 11 p.m. no food options available. Minor […] items. Very pleasant environment. No elevators and we carried our bags up a flight of stairs. Les mer
