Through Hotels.com I picked this hotel only because in the description is said "two queen beds." Upon arrival, it was a queen suite with a pull out sofa. We pulled the sofa out to found it had been slept in with unchanged sheets and a candybar. The light in the bathroom was like a strobe light and never stopped until you shut it off. beds in cheaper rooms are terrible got moved to more expensive room beds much better but only one mirror in room makes hard to do makeup and hair for two ladies in the mornings.

We were suppose to have a non-smoking room. We opted for this hotel because all Anamosa had left were rooms that allowed smoking!! It stunk, was dirty--we did not take our shoes off!! Would not reccomend this to anyone!!! We were out of the room before 7:00, the smell was too awful.

Staff was polite & welcoming upon check-in. Room was very small with few amenities, but fine for price we paid. However: Bed had 2 small pillows, when we asked for more we were told they didn't have more. Clerk was able to find 2 more pillows for us- without these our stay would have been quite uncomfortable. We left 2 towels on bathroom floor for replacement […] for 2nd night- only 1 towel was left for us. Had to make extra trip to desk and get our own clean towel- couldn't get this delivered to our room. Room had only 2 drawers- 1 was stuck and unusable so we couldn't unpack. Clerk was very apologetic, offered discount on room, but then said that, since we had booked thru Expedia he had no way to give discount. Les mer

Previous reviews frightened me since I read them AFTER I had already made a paid reservation. :) Our room was not an upgraded one, but we found it to be clean and comfortable, although it lacked modern conveniences like hair dryer, shampoos, lotions. the drawers were sticky, tv full of dust, the mirrors had smudges of white stuff, the carpet was not vaccumed and there was no shampoo in the bathroom. i did'nt want to inform the front desk because i wanted to just leave a survey but there was only the envelope but no questionere. i was very disappointed for the amount of my money i paid for a messy […] room. it does not have to brand new room but it has to be clean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My suggestion is spend an extra $25 and stay somewhere else. If you like a bed that feels like sleeping on a board, bedspreads that have visible stains, and carpeting that smells like musty ashtray, this is the place for you.

It was the only hotel left with rooms in the area for the weekend we were up there so kind of had to use it! Expedia only had 1 1/2 stars for it so we got a little nervous at first. But after being there it was very nice and very nicely located!!! Thanks

I was visiting my daughter at the Univ of Iowa during a football weekend. This hotel was 40 minutes from my daughter but well worth the drive as the cost was a fraction of any other options. Room was well maintained and quiet. A great value for the price.

The hotel had no wake up service and my shower curtain had green mold on it. Not impressed.

but the rooms aren't very nice. Well, they have very nice looking ones that you can upgrade to, but the standard room with a queen bed that my wife and I stayed in wasn't that great. Very small. There was a hole in the bathroom wall where the door stopper, well, failed to stop the door. There was lots of rust on the sprinklers. The sheets had some permanent […] stains. The comforter seemed questionable. The beds weren't comfortable. All that being said, it was cheap and close to where we need to be. Conveniently located across from Walmart and other stuff. Will probably stay there again, unfortunately. Maybe I'll get the new rooms with the platform beds and HDTV's next time :P Les mer

The room was filthy - the walls were very unclean - carpet was nasty. To explain the walls - it appeared someone had opened something that sprayed out and coated the wall at one end of the room. Both of the beds were uncomfortable and did not appear clean - neither one of us laid beneath the sheets - chose to purchase a new blanket for each bed - folding […] them in half and sleeping as if in a sleeping bag. Both pillowcases on one of the beds were wrinkled - like they had not been changed. The elevator stunk and the carpet filthy. After this experience, I will never set a reservation at a Microtel again. Les mer

The hotel is a nice choice if you need a place to sleep and shower and be on with your day. If you plan on spending lots of time in your room it may be too small. The staff was very frienly and gave me an upgraded room when they heard I was in town for a funeral. The room was newly remodled, smelled clean and was comfortable. It was clean enough but […] there was a cob web in the corner of the ceiling and the top of the wardrobe was dusty (I am 6'4" most people would not notice but it shows a lack of thoroughness by the staff.) The hotel was quiet but it was a weeknight not a wild weekend when most guests seem to be louder. It is located at the intersection two major highways so the highway noise may bother some but did not bother me. Well worth the price. I would stay there again but I would be sure to book a remodled room as the older ones are kind of nasty. Les mer

We picked this motel because of its central location for the different places that we were to go. It was a funeral..visiting family, etc. The price was a bargain! Thank You.

The hotel was a good value with a very pleasant staff. It was a bit noisy, but that was because of approximately 50 motorcycle enthusists staying.
