We (family of four) had a great vacation in Edmonton much because of the extremely helpful and serviceminded people at the Varscona. The location could not be any better if you fancy good restaurants (the best one is actually in the same building as the hotel, Muriettas), great pubs and shopping (from high-end to ready to cheaper alternatives). The complimentary breakfast at Varscona is simple, yet super tasty and just as fresh and served with a smile every day. They also offer complimentary wine & cheese tasting every night (wine was good, cheese not so much). This hotel should easyly be bumped up a few stars, but the good ting about it being only two and a half is the great price. Highly recommended!

Nice hotel to stay in during the cold of winter. Direct internal access to the mall makes for easy access to shopping and restaurants. I would stay here again.

"close to shopping and the hospital"
We weren't impressed with the maid service,our room was not made-up at all, no new towels, no vacuuming, no trash removal. We had room service the tray and used dishes were still in the room when we checked out. The bed was never made up, even when I told the maid that I was leaving for the afternoon. Upon arriving to find the room not done, I called […] the front desk, they said they would try to find somebody to do the room. After being gone all afternoon and early evening, I didn't want to have somebody coming into the room after 8:00 P.M. to redo the room. Les mer

Close to shopping. Rooms are clean but need updating. Service was good.
It was close to a major shopping mall and it had a Tim Horton's which was real nice. The stay was great and I would recommend it to others. Nice clean, comfortable and quiet place to stay.

We were checked in very promptly by the front desk girl and were actually asked if we prefer a room on the second floor or ground floor. We had booked a Jaccuzi room and the room itself was spotless, everything worked, internet, tv, alarm clock, jaccuzi, coffee maker and fridge etc. My husband and I enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. Location […] was fairly close to where we had to go and it was quiet, no parties, shouting or constant door slamming. Parking lot was also well kept and clean. Check out was fast and easy. This hotel also has a Tim Horton's on site and a lounge upstairs. It is located right across from Kingsway Shopping Mall and major roads. Would definetly recommend this hotel. Les mer
