"Disappointing"
Very slow check in and check out, rooms clean but very small beds, pool water so bad the kids jump in then right out because water was so bad

This hotel is a nice place. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are nice. I had a great stay and would definately stay here again.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable as well as charming and quaint. The staff was great and very friendly. Continental breakfast was good. Location was excellent -- right off the freeway. I will stay here every time I go to DSM.

"Close to downtown Wells Fargo Arena"
Came up for the PBR 04/21 & 04/22. Had a very nice weekend outing and would be very likely to come again and would definetly stay at Days Inn. It is a nice place for a good price.
"dissapointed"
I had requested ground floor and had to lug all our luggage through several doors and up stairs, not an easy task for seniors. Was extreamly dissapointed at that and then the faucet on lavatory sink was broken and found a dirty rag in the bathroom. Yuk, Yuk.

The hotel is old, but very clean and has a supportive staff. Surrounding area is really nice with four to five restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast is good with ample seating. This is a prime choice for road warriors wanting quiet, clean and safe. The hotel felt old and the carpet was unpleasant. There was a dehumidifier in the bathroom. Overall I would not recommend this hotel.

My “issue” is not so much with Days Inn but rather Hotels.com When we arrived they had no record of our reservation despite a confirmation No. Management said Hotels.com used a 3rd party to book. The manager was accommodating and found us a room. When I went to check in the room was clearly occupied (I later learned by a single female). I took pictures […] but no room to post. We got another room ~ check in took over 90 Min. Once settled in the accommodations were fine – not fancy, but that’s not what we expected for an overnight on the road. Les mer
Water pressure too low when takiing a shower. Also hot breakfast would be nice like competitors. Pool was great temperture.
"very nice for very little price"
We stayed here on a Sunday night just for a mini weekend getaway. The price was great!! Interior hallways and lobby maybe a little outdated but still very nice and clean. Room was very spacious and modern good sized bathroom. Hotel was quiet, heard very little noise from hallways or outside, this place is located in a quiet neighborhood not too far […] from the interstate and all places we planned to dine & shop. Pool area very large and nice, unfortunately the whirlpool was out of order, and that is what we were looking forward to most, but seems that's my luck everytime i stay in a hotel. Breakfast was good too. Will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay and we WILL be back next time we stay in the Des Moines area!! Les mer
The hotel in West Des Moines was very clean and the people were very friendly and helpful. We arrived very late and the front desk person was very courteous about that. The breakfast was adequate and the serving room was clean and neat as was our room.

Free Breakfast, Year round in-door pool with great hours. Indoor entry and outdoor entry from the parking lot was convenient for our needs. The room was immaculate. The staff was friendly and helpful. I especially liked Kayla, the front desk clerk who checked us in for the night. The location is very convenient with a centraly location in Des Moines. […] This will be my go-to Hotel when staying there. The reason my over all rating is 4 and not 5 is that the hotel felt dark and old and signs were not conveniently located to tell you which way to the lobby, pool, room numbers. Hotel was definately out dated, but other than that I can't really complain. Bed was ver comfortable. Down fall of the room was you had to search for a plug in to use. Staff was very nice and helpful. All in all in was a good stay.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is old and not handicap accessible. There is no elevator despite the fact there are three floors so lugging luggage is an issue and know that my mother would not have been able to see me due to no elevator. A good hotel for the price, unfortunately the whirl pool was broke when I was there. The bad thing with booking through hotels.com is that non smoking just showed up as a preference to the hotel and I got stuck in a smoking room.

"Close to I-235 and very accessible."
Hotel staff were great/very helpful. The room was obviously old and well worn. Hallway smelled musty. Carpet near the room window was moist. Fairly quiet neighborhood even though near the interstate. Breakfast bar in am was very good with many choices. Breakfast area was nice. Did not use the pool this stay.

Good value for the money. Motel staff very helpful and pleasant -- I have bad knees and the desk clerk found me a room on the 1st floor so I wouldn't have to carry my luggage up the stairs. Vicki (the day desk clerk) was great. I will stay there again and recommend it.
"Easy access to IA State Fair"
We picked this hotel for the accessability to the interstate and closeness to the 7th st exit for the shuttle to the Fair. It was an older motel and the room was small in trying to accomodate a pull-out bed for our adult son - actually, the pull-out was broken, so the motel brought in a roll-a-way, which took up most of the 'extra space'. "A roof over your head"
This hotel is an adequate, clean place to stay. The location wasn't the best for attending the Iowa State Fair but again, it was an adequate place to stay. The desk staff were very friendly and courteous. The cleanliness of the room was adequate. For a simple hotel at the price I paid, it was a good stay.
"Great place durning the State Fair"
Great staff, I left an item at the hotel and the staff was more than accommodating to return my item. The only down fall was the shower seemed slow to drain the water out, easily fixed I am sure, the shower head also seemed low I am 6'3".

The hotel was quiet. The bed was comfortable. The staff was polite. The downside was that the place is old. The room lacked sufficent outlets. The available outlets were hidden by heavy furniture. Extension cords were used to connect lamps, etc. The textured ceiling in the bathroom was about to fall. The fixtures were old & heavily caulked. "Worth the price but..."
Checked in and had to use the bathroom right away. Looked up and the ceiling was covered in mold, black patches all over, nearly covering the ceiling. Having a 4yr old with allergies, had to request another room. Staff was able to get us into another room but still can't believe they new nothing about that room and would still have it available for […] use. Room 222 should NOT be available until they replace the ceiling (leak?)in the bathroom. Otherwise the place was great including the pool being open until 11pm. Les mer

"Days Inn West Des Moines problems"
check in clerk was outside smoking took 15 mintues to come to help us. Ice machine did not work. Doors would not shut had to slam them so kept being woke up during the night. Key cards had to be rekeyed numerous times. Hotel needs a major upgrade BBQ place next to the hotel is a place I would go back to
"good location for wells fargo auditorium"
we felt the hotel was an excellent choice location wise and getting around Des Moines - however when we got our room assigned we were disappointed on the condition of the carpets and the smell in our room. Luckily we had an outside door and opened it up all the way for a few hours and that pretty much took care of it. We did not need to use the air […] conditioning and left the window open.We were there two nites and felt the staff was very friendly - the breakfast was sufficient - and the price was very reasonable. Everything else in the room was clean and the bathroom was just remodeled with excellent new shower-heads. We felt the carpets needed attention thru-out the hotel - but other than that we have no complaints. Les mer

"You get what you pay for"
This hotel was cheap...and I do not mean quality necessarily. The service was fine, however when I walked in with my 11 year old I had to walk her through a plume of smokers at the front door and then when we got in there were 2 sherrifs deputies sitting in the chairs speaking to an older gentleman (loose term) stating that there would be room checks […] at 10:30...my 11 year old put 2 and 2 together and realized that they must be prisoners and freaked out and slept with one eye open. clean and large room,nice having both inside and outside access,nasty to locate,poor signage,also when traveling using a GPS,feeding info for DesMoines and nothing comes up!,find out later it's not in DesMoines but rather in West DesMoines!! how would anyone know the difference ??? just pass'n through

We were in town for a short stay and it filled everything we needed -- clean, comfortable room, nice environment, simple but good breakfast.
