Fint hotell, men hotellrommet var ganske lite. Kom såvidt forbi senga(som står rett innafor døra) med kofferten. Liknet ikke det vi så på bildene på hotels.com. Takterrassen var kjempefin, men det var alltid stappfullt der og det kosta 150 dollar å reservere et bord(dette er ikke inkludert noe annet enn reservasjonen). Skal man se på solnedgangen, gå ned på stranda i stedet. Men beliggenheten var helt ok, kort til stranda og restauranter. Live musikk i lobbyen i helgene. Frokosten var god, de hadde pølser, egg, brød, frukt og frokostblanding. Men man ble litt lei av det etter noen dager. De låner ut stoler, parasoller og håndkler som man kan ha på stranda. Veldig bra.

The place was fantastic ond the service great. The rooms was a little rundown. Tiles on the foor would be cleaner then carpets. We travelled with 3 kids. We loved the beach and city.

Reality-TV viser Laguna Beach som en lekegrind for bortskjemte ungdommer. Men bak fasaden er dette en by med røtter i kunsten. Laguna Playhouse er ett av de eldste teatrene på vestkysten. Byen arrangerer også den årlige festivalen Arts/Pageant of the Masters og Sawdust kunstfestival. "Older Hotel..don't expect much"
This is a Harbor Hotel. Old, smelling strongly of cleaning solvents. We had adjoining rooms. The kids room had an updated bathroom but ours was old and tub didnt drain well. Spend second night a short ride away in Laguna, same price-MUCH NICER- directly on the beach. This is marketed as a waterfront hotel and yes the ocean is in sight but it's a good […] walk to it and not accessible unless you own one of the yachts docked there. "Cozy"
Room was clean. Great kitchen. They only supply utensils for extended stay guests. Next time I'll remember to bring some along. Bed comfortable. Walking distance to several restaurants and shopping.

"Outstanding location"
We loved the location of the hotel, right next to the harbor. There are so many great restaurants at a walking distance. It was perfect to stroll in the evening along the harbor. The hotel was very clean and service was professional. Parking was easy with wide space. We will come again!

It's an older hotel, with older styled rooms that could stand to be remodeled, and it doesn't have an luxury accommodations. HOWEVER, it was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The service was friendly, it's situated right next to the harbor and many stores and restaurants, as well as being just a feet hundred yards from the PCH, so it's fairly quick to […] drive where you need to go. If you want to just take a walk, there's plenty of stuff around of interest to see including lots of seating right there on the harbor's edge. If you're looking for a place to stay that won't strain your budget, but gives you all the necessities, you can't beat the Dana Point Marina Inn! Les mer
"St Patty's Day"
My room had a mildew to urine oder to it. I was across fro the San Clemente room which had a meeting for women of some sorts. They were very loud enjoying their meeting and their meeting started back up at 9 am the next morning with agin the same enthusiam as the night before.

The hotel amenities were dated, but rooms were clean, beds were fairly comfortable, location was perfect. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat!!
Loved the fact we had a balcony that we could go out on besides a window that opens just an inch. Only there one night but loved it and so close to everything.
Rooms need to be updated butthe hotel was clean and a great location.

This hotel certainly has the essentials, but they are left over from the 70's. The location is great, but for the money, there are many better choices. They need to reinvest in their property and bring it current with the times.

My fiance and I stayed here at her recommendation. If the rooms were at any other location, they would be a little over priced. But since they are right on the Dana Point Wharf the were a bargain. The hotel's price was good, especially for the great location, close to restaurants and unique shops. Walking around the beach and harbor was lovely. The continental breakfast was good, well stocked and full of different choices . NIce balance of healthy juices and fruits, cereals and bagels. Toasters were available, enough of them to accomedate several […] people at the same time. Coffee and tea were provided with hot chocolate as an alternative. The view from the room was interesting and enticing. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was old, the bathtub was scratched up and should be replaced. Worst thing was the temperature of the shower. It started out hot, changed to very cold, then hot again, then cold again. I did not touch the faucet at all while these temperature changes took place. Very upsetting to not be able to start the day with a nice warm shower. Traveling is tiring and a warm shower is very refreshing and rejuvenating. Not so at this hotel. Les mer

"Not what we expected"
The Marina Inn was very disappointing. When we arrived, we were without water for 90 minutes because of a water main break. Then, we never had hot water in the bathroom sink and the shower didn't drain...I finished my shower with 3inches of water in the tub. We were awakened at 7:45 to the sound of a circular saw being used by workmen outside. I was disappointed. I have stayed here before and was very pleased. However, when we entered our room, it smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, even though it was marked as a nonsmoking room. Fortunately we were transferred to what was identified as the last available room. Woke up in the morning and discovered we had no hot water. I tried to call to […] complain, but the phone didn't work. The hot water was fixed during the day, but the phone still didn't work the next morning. Nice hotel that could use a bit of a paint job. Great location with great food within easy walking distance. Medeocre continental breakfast rendered irrelevant by the great breakfast place across the street from the hotel. Great place at a reasonable price for the excellent location on the harbor.

This is only functional. It's right in the marina, so you could walk to the restaurants, harbor, etc. Not the nicest beach around... in fact, be careful at Doheny after rains at this is where the "wash" outlets into the ocean. I hear the bacteria levels are quite bad. Anyways, the hotel is old, but everything at least works and there is a kitchenette. […] Walls are thin, carpet is hard. "Parking and entry are BAD."
I had to park way far away just to go register, there were no "registration only" parking places. Then I had to walk all the way back to my car, and then back to the side entrance, which was shady looking, at best. This is where the people that smoked were hanging out to smoke. The entrance was fairly dark and you have to walk through empty hallways […] (I arrived late at night) to get to the elevator to get to the room. I had to do this a couple of times to bring my stuff in. Then to get ice, I had to walk through all of the hallways, all the way back to the front lobby area (3rd floor) to get ice. All in all totally satisfied. If you are going to Catalina just for the day you can park on the road abutting the hotel and walk to the boat -- eliminating need to show up 90 minutes before ferry departure.

My husband and I decided to book an overnight stay at this hotel for the holiday weekend. We wanted a convenient hotel next to Dana Point's Marina, specifically in close distance to Doheny Beach. Pros: Walking distance to the Marina, short driving distance to Doheny Beach, inexpensive hotel, nice front desk staff, basic pool. Although our sink was stopped […] up maintenance came quickly. Rooms have nice views of the marina and also come with mini patios. Cons: Room needs serious renovation, if you are ok with ants in the bathroom then no worries with extreme bug problems. I can tell the carpet and hallways are old. Reminds you of a motel. Our sink was stopped up. Ask for more pillows before you get to your room! Old school TV, don't expect a flat screen. We would recommend for a one night stay or a quick resting spot for a short trip. We probably won't stay here again but that's only because I prefer more modern hotels. Honestly if I was management I would put money into updating the hotel. Lots of people stay here because its convenient and I don't think people would mind paying a few dollars more for a nicer room. While this hotel might be older and a little stale smelling, they keep it clean and the staff is very nice. The location makes all of the other issues less important. They were out of the room type we booked on hotels.com, so they upgraded us to a one bedroom suite which was very big with a full kitchen. Absolutely Perfect Location. You can park the car once & not use it again till time to leave. Just walk everywhere for shops and restaurants. I would definitely stay there again.

Having a daughter who lives in Dana Point, I was already familiar with the location right on the Harbor, and immediately within very short walking distance to shops and a variety of restaurants. No need to move the car to access any of these. The hotel has a computer in the lobby for the use of their guests, their own parking area, and a lovely light […] breakfast buffet from 7 to 9 a.m. I enjoyed my room which had a refridgerator, iron and ironing board, and hair dryer. Very satisfied with our stay and with hotels,com for securing such a reasonable price per room (my son also had a room across the courtyard from me.) Les mer
