Svært fornøyd med oppholdet på hotellet , meget serviceminded personell , god frokost , mulig litt støy i spisesalen , men helt grei mat. Svært hyggelige og imøtekommende personell , både i skranken , og butikken eller han som satte vekk bagasjen. Lett å få tidlig innsjekking og sen utsjekking . Alt i alt , meget bra. Savnet minibar på rommet eller i alle fall et kjøleskap , men ellers var det ismaskin i gangen. Selv i New York var det mulig å få et stille rom.

Familie med to tenåringsdøtre. Fantastisk beliggenhet, flott service og komfortable rom. Suite Prestige med to dobble senger. Vi anbefaler dette hotellet sterkt om noen vil bo sentralt og vi er ikke i tvil om hvor vi skal bo neste gang. Det koster noen penger, men i forhold til beliggenhet og det du har igjen så er det ok.

Rene rom og god service - men veldig små rom. Måtte ha den ene kofferten på badet for å få plass. Men renholdet er viktigere enn størrelsen. Veldig bra beliggenhet og gåavstand til mange av hovedgatene på Manhatten.

"Flott hotell i New York"
Jeg synes servicen på hotellet var kjempe bra, de ansatte var blide og behjelpelige. Beliggenheten var helt fantstastisk, 5-6 min fra Central Park og 5 min til nærmeste subway. Hotellet ligger i et rolig område. Jeg vil absolutt anbefale dette hotellet, og kunne tenke meg å reise tilbake til samme hotell ved en senere anledning.

"Aweful hotel, stay away!"
I stayed here for a few nights hoping I could have a pleasant stay in New York. I had issues from the minute I stepped into the door. The manager was a prick and his idea of customer service was to reject everyone and blame something or someone else. You can forget having internet in your room or anything remotely to that. They list this as a service […] but they lie about it. You need to be extremely lucky to have a room placement that allows for this. I can go on and on about stuff but let me just tell you this, STAY AWAY! I will never be back to this place. Les mer

Et lite koselig hotel Ene enkeltrommet hadde en veldig bråkete airkondition:-( Ellers vil jeg si at det var et veldig ok hotel til prisklassen å dømme. Vi var der mens orkanen Irene dro over byen. "Fantastisk plassering"
Jeg reiste på ferie med ei venninne og vi var begge svært fornøyde med Park 79 Hotel. Nabolaget var koselig, og hotellet var sjarmerende med sin "pre-war apartment"-aktige sjarm. Vi delte bad (toalett og dusj) med to-tre andre rom, men opplevde aldri at badet var opptatt. Det eneste negative var heisen, som var veldig liten, og en litt blandet opplevelse […] av resepsjonistene. Noen var veldig behjelpelige, andre ikke fullt så imøtekommende. "Hotell i rolig strøk nær Central Park og tube"
Greit hotell, reint og ryddig, passe stort, men rommet kunne ha vært litt større.

Svært god service, hyggeleg betjening. Vi budde der ei natt ved ankomst NYC, skulle vidare neste dag. Lite rom, svært lite bad, men det fungerte for ei natt. Da vi måtte sjekke ut av leiligheita vi leigde siste veka tidleg på dag og flyet vårt ikkje gjekk før seint om kvelden, fekk vi oppbevare bagasjen vår på hotellet - utan at det kosta noko! Det […] kallar eg kjempeservice! Vi betalte sjølvsagt tips til "the bell man". Det finst ikkje oppbevaringsboksar i NYC, så dette er einaste måten å gjere det på dersom ein ikkje skal drasse rundt på bagasjen ein heil dag. Les mer

Great location on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The room was small as was expected (after reading other reviews), but clean and adequate. It reminded me of my first tiny apartment in Manhattan, minus the kitchen. Would definitely recommend the hotel for individuals, but not enough space for a family. The bed was super firm!

I was looking for a hotel in a quiet location after a disastrous last trip (I got virtually no sleep). I had no trouble sleeping or being comfortable at this hotel. Bear in mind, I am a small person and a small room and small bathroom did not bother me. But it's not like I was planning a dance party in my room. Bus stops and a subway station were close […] by, less than 10 minutes from Times Square. The room was clean, the shower could use a remodel (just because it's entirely slate doesn't mean the job was done well). The staff were courteous. The alarm clock consistently read the wrong time and after 15 minutes, I couldn't figure out how to change it so I used my phone as an alarm. The Park 79 was in a great location and the staff there were very nice and helpful. The elevator held 3 people max and was very SLOW. As far as the room goes - there was one very small window blocked by the window air conditioner which was pretty dirty and sounded like a jet engine. The room was not homey - it was very cold and kind of bleak looking. […] You could not get ice easily, no room fridge - it was a very basic room. I don't believe it was worth the money. Terrific location, right between 2 major subway lines, across street from Natural History Museum, 2 blocks to Central Park, lots of restaurants, stores, pharmacies all within 1 block of the hotel. Selection of coffees and teas in the lobby every morning, and while the rooms are small they are clean and comfortable enough. Hot water is an issue, and […] one morning the water never got hotter than 'warm', and all days it took a long time for the hot water to make its way to the shower, but if I needed to be in this part of town would definitely stay again as its clean, safe, and convenient. "great location in a nice neighborhood."
Clean, quiet and small. Our family of four fit nicely (a little tightly) in a junior suite. We didn't spend much time in our room so it didn't bother us. Nice spot with great concierge service.

Cosy room with great bathroom in a lovely and central neighbourhood close to Central Park and 2 subway lines. The room wasn't huge but all we needed for a base to explore NY. We were pleasantly surprised at all we got for the price we paid. I would highly recommend to others.

Very small room, but clean, with a very comfie bed, big TV, and very quiet Staff is most accommodating and helpful to their guests. My shower head broke just as I was about to get in it, but the maintenance man was there in minutes to fix. I would return in a New York minute!
We really enjoyed hearing the elevator going up and going down - all night!

"Pleasant hotel - a good deal for New York"
Much nicer than the last place I stayed in when I was in New York (YMCA). My room was quite basic, but cozy. The shared bathroom was very clean so I was pleased with that. The shower was dodgy - you had to run it for at least 5 minutes before hot water would come through, but it did heat up reliably if you knew to wait. Lumpiest duvet covers I have […] ever experienced, but they gave me an extra one (also lumpy) so I didn't get cold). The walls are paper thin but I was so jetlagged I would either sleep through an earthquake or remain wide awake, depending on what my body clock was doing, no matter how peaceful or noisy the surroundings, so that wasn't a problem. The building and hallways were very pretty. The building had character. I would stay here again when coming to New York. Les mer

Small room, a little uncomfortable for two to be moving around, showering, getting ready at the same time. Walls a little thin. Overall it is clean and all you need if you're out touring all day. Elevator is super slow, we were on the 7th (top) floor and we would walk down instead of waiting 10 mins for elevator.

The only minus of this hotel is that there is no breakfast, but they serve free coffee and hot chocolate for customers at mornings, though. Otherwise the place is just perfect: price, location, staff, hotel itself... I would definitely go again, if visiting New York! And I would recommend this place for everyone.

I Booked a room with 2 twin beds. At arrival the Front desk said they had only 1 double bed to offer. The room was small with NO air conditioning. We asked to pay for an upgrade and were told that they were full. The front desk Clerk was not helpful, but the person who answered the phone was extremely helpful. Within 30 minutes we changed rooms to a […] junior Suite at no extra charge. 1 double bed with a pull out couch, refrigerator and air conditioning. If you want to be close to Central Park, this is the perfect location and very safe. Easy to get a cab. I would recommend as long as you do not need any frills. Clean and quiet. Just don't leave anything in the room when you leave because you will not get it back. Miraculously disappears!! :( Les mer

The location is excellent if you are into museum and history. The hotel is right next to the Central Park, got a lot of room to run or walk your dog. When I booked the room, I was not aware that this room was a semi-private room. The room itself is only 7'X10', very small, no bath room. No closet, no fridge, no control to temp, and the TV reception […] was terrible. To pee or shower, you need to use your room key to open a shared bathroom down the hall. Hotel is in a really great location. Upper West Side, half a block from Natural Science Museum. Lobby is nice, with comp'd coffee til 11am and free Wi-Fi. The room had no climate control. We stayed at Park 79 last weekend and chose it for the location, since we had tickets to two events at Lincoln Center and love the UWS. The staff was helpful, and the room small but fine for our needs. What prevents me from recommending the hotel, though, is the fact that the hot water was extremely unreliable. Park 79 was removed just enough from the mega-hotels to give us the feeling of the NYC neighborhood life. Only 2 blocks from Central Park. 1 block from AMNH. 2 minutes from buses and subways. just returned from a visit to NYC with my wife and two sons (12 and 13). The Junior Suite was perfect for us to camp out in while we explored Manhattan. Hotel is very well situated for walking and subway access to the city. The staff were fantastic and the hotel could not have been better for us. Tiny hotel, only good thing is that it is close to central park and pretty clean. But the rooms are TINY, there were holes in the floor, hard and uncomfortable bed, the pillows were hurting our necks (pretty the same way a big hard rock would hurt your neck), and there were a lot of noise outside the hotel. "Great winter retreat"
Wonderful two day stay with my elementary school age kids. Junior suite had enough room for us and was very comfortable. I've read previous reviews and was surprised by the negative reviews. We had a good experience. I love the west side of Manhattan and this is the perfect spot. Couldn't ask for a closer hotel to the park or Natural history museum.
