Hotel needs some better maintenance and an upgrade on the breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The pictures that were taken to represent the motel must have been taken somewhere else! The whole place was very run-down. If I had not been pushed for time I would have gone elsewhere. The free breakfast they offer...we went to the Waffle House, rather than eat in that dump! Pass. Never again. -Jim

The hotel was located in a great spot, and I was just looking for a clean place to sleep-- nothing special. It was the dirtiest hotel I have ever slept in, and I was greatly disappointed. Not a good experience at all. As the person responsible for coordinating travel for my News organization, it was the first time I'd placed our crews at a Microtel. We normanly use hotels with a minimum 4 star rating. Because of the Democratic Nat'l Convention, hotel blocks were placed on our standard hotels of use. Well worth the price. Nothing fancy just a bed and other essentials in a good location. Slight smell of smoke. Staff was great!

First of all, none of the pictures from the Hotels.com website are representative of the hotel once you arrive. The online photo shows a clean modern room, flatscreen TV, a nice nig bathroom, etc. The room was gross, stains everywhere, an old TV, a microscopic sink outside the bathroom, no hairdryer, and the breakfast was about as unprofessional as […] it began comes. I am really surprised that Microtel allows this hotel to continue an affiliation with their name. It is in a nice area and we did walk for dinner. The first thing I should say is that security is lax here; one of the lobby doors and one stairwell door do not lock, so be aware of that. The breakfast […] is okay, but no hot food is there - mostly cereal, pastries, Oreos, a fruit salad, cold hardboiled eggs, etc. Parking is a problem at times - there are two "lanes" marked off in the center so that people can always get out of the lot, but people kept parking there and blocking off spaces. The overall appearance is very outdated and worn down. The walls are mirrored, the air vents need cleaning, and the whole place is a bit musty becuase most second floor rooms permit smoking. If you are looking for a modern, locked motel, go elsewhere. However, if you just need a place to crash at night, this is not bad. The beds were clean and the staff is friendly. Les mer

Room was ok however carpets were dirty and refrigerator had mold around the door area. Breakfast was ok could have been a little healthier instead of all sweets. However hotel is ina great spot it was close to our destination. Not sure if we would stay there again.

The hotel badly needs a face lift. The bathroom plumbing is not great and the carpets are not too clean. The vending machines are out of order or out of supplies. The manager and staff are helpful. Continental breakfasts are adequate although quality of food is just passable.

I found the location very convenience, since I am a walker and a shopper the area was safe and near a shopping center. Every year since 2005 we have always stayed at this hotel, the staff are very nice.

Nice staff but hotel needs major updating. Not like the pictures. Our bathroom was smaller than a closet and the sink wasn't even in the bathroom but out in the room. No hairdryer either. The breakfast was less than what we have had other places with the exception of a very nice fruit bowl! I hope they do some updating because the staff was very helpful […] and eager to please. Room was tiny and had an old musty odor. Decor was very dated and was very unkept looking. Breakfast was not very appetizing. Better than sleeping in vehicle but not by much.

AC didn't work so I was moved to another room. In the new room I opened the curtains to window and there was trash on the window seal. Not a good stay for me.

We needed a place for one night during a lengthy road trip. The price was excellent and so was the location. The room was clean and comfortable. No frills, but just right to rest up before and after a long day's drive. I was surprised that the coffee at breakfast was quite good and fresh fruit salad was offered. This hotel is in a good location off I-77, with many shops and services nearby. My room was very small, and not very clean. There was a decent tv, but no coffee maker or hairdryer in the room. The breakfast was rather meager as well. A computer terminal in the lobby was available to allow guests to access the internet.

Bed was wet and at 11:30 at night we were changing to another room. It was cleaner then the first one. the night clerk was very helpful and apologetic for the inconvenience. But the manager was very rude and didn't feel we were inconvenienced in any way. I will never stay at that motel again.

This hotel is very conveniently located to all the places I needed to be in the Cornelius / Huntersville area. The room was clean but not "eat off the floor" clean, if you know what I mean. The staff were attentive to their duties and friendly and cooperative. The room was quiet, the bed comfortable, the water hot. What more can one ask for. For the price, it's an OK place to stay and I would certainly recommened to anyone needing a place to stow your stuff and rest your head for the evening. This was a very clean and comfortable pet friendly hotel and as we were traveling with our 2 dogs, the pet fee was reasonable. Beds were extremely comfortable and staff was friendly and helpful. The location is great as there were good restaurants within walking distance. Just a very nice stay for us.

Serious mold/mildew problem in the bathroom. You could smell it as soon as you walked in the room.

The hotel is tired, but appeared reasonably clean. The room was small, but adequate.The housekeeping staff did a good job. The complimentary breakfast was basic, but adequate. For the rate charged, the hotel was worthwhile and I would stay there again (bring your own hair dryer).

We stayed here on our way home from Florida. After hotel hopping for a week, this hotel was by far the nicest one we stayed at! Even though it's right off of I-77, the location and the surrounding neighborhood was wonderful! Beautiful shade trees and landscaping and just around the corner are some small shops and boutiques. The continental breakfast […] was more than just coffee and a muffin. They had a wonderful spread with an abundant of choices. A big plus for us is that they are a pet friendly hotel also. We love to travel with are 3 large dogs and they were very welcomed here. We will definatly be staying here again on our future trips down to Florida and back!!!! Les mer

We are very disappointed with the policy and demeanor of the management. We had an opportunity to leave two days early and Microtel Inn - Lake Norman Cornelius, would only allow 1 day. We stayed an extra day. They gave us a cockamamie excuse. They do not regard their customers as unimportant. In all probability we are returning to the area and will […] never consider Microtel Inn - Lake Norman Cornelius. We plan to write to Microtel HO regarding the matter and depending on the response we receive, we may never return to any Microtel. We hope that is not the case. Les mer

My first stay at a MicroHotel. The rooms are very small; this one was not very clean. Breakfast was adequate with many options, but didn't feel clean.

The hotel was easy to find and close to many things. But left something to be desired in the clean department. There was brown streak on the wall beside the toilet. Food in the fridge.And the beds were uncomfortable.

The staff was very accommodating and went out of their way to assist us. We were provided additional towels, hair dryer and pillows upon request. However, the toilet was filthy dirty! For a brief overnight stay, it is ok, but it definitely needs to be updated. There was some mold on the wall in the shower area and the beds were not very comfortable. The location to food and shopping was very nice. And for the price, I guess we did get what we paid for.
