Nice hotel with central location downtown. The building is old, but dignified and the rooms are absolutely at an acceptable standard. Many have commented that the bathrooms are old, but they are clean, they work and there is hot water in the tap – so it should not bother you if you are not overly dependent of modern facilities. Actually, it only underlines the theme of the hotel/ club. Be aware that there is a dress code in all restaurants; business casual is the standard. My only complaints from the stay would be a rather expensive breakfast and an extreemly unstable WiFi. The latter was extreemly anying when trying to get some work done and sending emails. But, if you are looking for a pricy alternative in downtown St. Louis with a flair of 19th century USA this is the place!

"Comfort Inn Dissappointment"
While the hotel was convenient in it's location and the staf was accommidating the condition of the hotel was very dissapointing. There was a strong odor on our floor (2). This was overwelming at times we had to complain to the staff and they sprayed something that covered the smell which returned the next morning. "Mix of old and new"
We had a great stay. The hotel has done a lot of renovations and seem to have a few things left to do as our painted walls had some splotches and the air conditioner was somewhat loud...but the new colors and furniture were nice, and the beds were really comfortable!! "Great location for a visit to Washington Universit"
The hotel was in the midst of some renovations, so there were some minor inconveniences. The room was clean and comfortable. However, the morning breakfast was not managed well. We arrived at 9a and there was hardly anything available (no coffee juice, or milk; and nearly all the food was gone). "Location, Location, Location"
Positives: The location was perfect for us as I was playing chess at the nearby St. Louis Chess Center, one block away. Also convenient was the beautiful Cathedral-Basilica of St. Louis, two blocks away. The neighborhood was safe and scenic. Very pretty girls stroll along Maryland ave. where the Chess Club is located during the evening hours. The continental […] breakfast was served on time and was more than adequate. The price was good for the area. Negatives: Three of us stayed at the hotel. We asked for a rollaway when we booked and they told us "first come - first served. We asked when we got there if we could get a roll-away that night (Friday) of the next (Saturday) and were told that none were available. Our remote to the TV did not work and were given another bad one. One guy's card to the room did not open the door and was given a second one which did not work and he went back for a third one. After it worked and a second guy came back to the room he found out that his card did not work and he went down for another card. When he came back with the third card, it worked but the first two guy's keys did not work. When they went down they heard the mnanager utter, "She screwed up again....She can't do anything. Indeed, the lady needed training. The lines at the counter were almost unbearable and we heard three straight couples n front of us ask for towels for there room because there were none in the room. The lady told them that they did not have any and she did not know why they did not have any. We had towels but had no toilet paper and had to go back for that. There was one bottle of shampoo the first day. The second day we still had the two small bars of soap but this day we also got some skin and hair conditioner, which we did not have the first day. Conclusion: All in all, I would dfinitely go there again. I think it is the best we can do for the price. If they improved service, we would pay more. "Pet area"
There was not hardly any place for my dog to comfortably use the restroom. I think that if a facility is to allow pets then it would be best for them to have an area in which a dog can relieve him/herself. Also the pet policy should be stated online as well. "worst hotel ever"
this place is falling apart. previously the hotel indigo, someone bought it, switched it to a comfort inn, took the money and ran. EVERYTHING is broken including both elevators and the air conditioning. we've stayed at a number of 29.99 places along the highway and even they have a leg up on this place. DUMP.

"it was easy to get to where we wanted to go"
it could have been cleaner,had a sewer smell on the second floor and in our bathroom, elevator still broke, no ice on our floor,and on sunday morning the breakfast worker didnot show up so had only a few muffins and some freash fruit. personnal was all very nice.

"Great stay! Very clean!"
We had a really nice stay for the three nights. They could use a another elevator in the back and the noise-proofing leaves something to be desired, but when people were respectful of others (no purposeful banging and screaming), there were no problems. The room was clean and very modern, there is an exercise room with free weights (who else has that?), […] and there is free hot breakfast in a very large, clean space. "Comfort Inn Central West End--Temperature control"
This hotel was very neat and well-decorated. It's located close to area hospitals and colleges. The front desk personnel was not helpful with parking directions. There was no way of really controlling the temperature in the room. There was a centralized heating unit. You could make your room warmer, but could not make it cooler.

"Appearances are not what they seem"
My room smelled like there was some sort of sewage leak and the cold water in my room was coming out of the tap cloudy. The staff was not very helpful in fixing the problem nor attempting to make me a satisfied guest.
"Comfort Inn - Central West End St louis"
Needed a place to stay for a move over new Year's Eve. Only issue we had was with parking on New Year's Eve when the hotel was sold out. Next day when the New Year's crowd left there was plenty of parking again. Room was clean and comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was pretty good.

Stayed here overnight for a hockey game in St Louis. Room was very clean and quiet. Shower was just a tad too small for a tall person. Front desk was helpful with directions to downtown St. Louis. Trip in only takes less than 10 minutes. We also noticed that this is very close to the St Louis Children's Hospital and St Louis University itself. And this […] is a pet friendly hotel as well. The hotel was conveniently located for our weekend outing. From reading other comments, I 100% agree with other guest's thoughts of the hotel. -The hotel is large, having one working elevator and entering only a the lobby is good for security but not if your room is the furthest from the lobby area. -The room temperature was way too warm and we could […] not get the thermostat to adjust. -The hallways were very dirty, looked like the carpet hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. Don't judge a book by it's cover. Outdated outside but modern inside. Comfortable bed. Nice staff (except the woman at the desk at 2AM on 10/29). Breakfast decent. Free Internet and great neighborhoid. Will be back next time I come to see the WS champion Cards play at home.

"Visiting son at Wash U"
Room is nicely decorated but walls are paper thin and you can hear people breathing in the next room. For this reason alone, I can not recommend this hotel to anyone.
"Cold Comfort Inn, St. Louis"
When I mentioned to the desk clerk that there was no heat in the room, he told me the heat wasn't on yet and that I'd have to wait for it to "come up". The night-time temp was 62. Added to the cold, this was probably the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. One of the two ice machines for the whole hotel broke down causing a soggy mess in the filthy […] carpet in the hallway outside the ice machine. The halls were always dirty with stained carpet. The shower in my room was quick fixed so that it couldn't be moved and shot water outside the stall as soon as you turned it on. The draw here is that the Comfort Inn is right off Euclid and its shops and restaurants. So if you don't intend to spend much time in the hotel and you don't expect much at all for your lodging dollar, it's not a bad place. Les mer
"Comfort Inn and Suites - close to SLU and Barnes"
The hotel was very nice. However, we booked a room with two double beds because there was four of us staying. When we got there, we had one King bed. We asked to switch rooms, but were told that they had no other rooms available. No apologies were given. We asked for two roll away beds and were told that they only had two in the entire hotel and they […] were already being used. When we asked if we could get two extra blankets, we were told they didn't have any extra blankets. When we insisted, we were told that he could probably come up with one. We went up to our floor, where the person working went into another room and got a blanket off of that bed. So...We had one bed and a couch for four people, in a room with laminate flooring, no roll away and only one blanket. Our fourth person slept on two chairs put together, which slid apart all night long...and had no blanket or pillow. Would we stay here again...probably not. Les mer

"confort inn forest park area"
great location, walkable to forest park shopping/resturants/etc. I was able to walk to the medical center at Wash U. The room was very nice and trendy with wood floors and eclectic decor. Carpet in common areas was stained and dirty, which initially had me worried; but the remaining parts of the hotel were very clean. I would stay there again.
"Comfort Inn & Suites near Barnes-Jewish Hospital"
The restroom in the lobby doesn't have a working lock. We never got a working key to our room. The front desk attendant had to let us in the room everytime. The breakfast was advertised until 10:00 am, however by 9:00 am they were out of most items and the young ladytold us she wasn't going to thaw anything else out.
