Ca 40 minutter fra flyplassen. Helt ok og rimelig hotell, med nærhet til de viktigste severdigheter. Hadde bare en overnatting, så kjekt med gangavstand til Akropolis og de nærmeste turist attraksjoner. Helt grei frokost buffet. Hyggelig resepsjon.

Everything was great! Very comfortable beds make up for the small room. Best hotel breakfast we experienced in our two week trip in Greece. Great Location. Good breakfast. Wi-fi in hotel was offline for extended periods. Had an issue with the door key not working but was fixed very promptly. Service was excellent by all hotel staff.

Stayed for ten days, and it was a comfortable experience. Staff are exceptionally pleasant, and the hotel is clean and well equipped. Very well situated for eating out in Plaka, and for access to all transport in Syntagma Square. just a few yards from the main shopping street, Ermou. All round, a very good choice.

Condition of the hotel overall was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. When we first arrived we asked for a change of room and the hotel changed our room without issue. Breakfast was very good and set us up for the day. Only point was the soundproofing of room which wasn't too good. A good hotel in the centre of Athens and I would stay there again. Breakfast was wonderful in particular, and I the cleanliness of the rooms was top rate. My only negative points were that the lift was too small. No more than two people could really fit in there, one if they had a suitcase. Also the shower wasn't great. Great location. Easy walk from Syntagma station (under 10mins). Woman at front desk was extremely nice, helpful and welcoming. Safe, quiet, clean, in a great location. The hotel is well located for walking distance to all major sites in Athens. It is also close to many restaurants. The staff is very accommodating and suggested many walking tours of the city. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. Is located convenient to central Athens activities...Acropolis, museum, Parliament Building, Syntagma Square, etc. VERY small elevator but it works! Nice afternoon set up for tea, coffee, cookies. Free wifi all over. Nice young woman came to each table at breakfast to help with travel questions. Encouraged […] us to take the train out to National Museum. Patiently explained how the procedure worked. We did it! Also showed us how to ride the X bus to airport for 5E instead of taking taxi for 50E! We did that with no problems. Easy walk from hotel to bus stop. Good eating places and shopping nearby. This is a family run hotel with outstanding service. The owners went out of their way to make sure that everything was very comfortable for our stay with a 6 month old baby (e.g., loaning us a big bucket to give our baby a bath on the balcony). We had a wonderful room with a balcony overlooking the outdoor pool. The breakfasts included in the price […] of the booking were truly delicious, and unlike many hotels, breakfast was offered until noon everyday (which is a huge help when you are working on the schedule of a baby and a different time zone). Hotel was fine and staff excellent, however one member of the staff [on the front desk] kept recommending a friends Resteraunt which overpriced the food and they added extras not ordered on to the bill, we spoke to many people at the hotel who had the same experience - message is ignore any Resteraunt recommendations

We chose the Hermes Hotel based on very positive feedback from previous travellers. We were looking for a convenient, city-centre location that was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. We were certainly not disappointed by the Hermes. VERY conveniently located within a few minutes walking distance of Syntogma Metro station, we couldn't have been […] more "central" in Athens. All sights and facilities in this bustling capital city were at hand (walkable) and yet the Hermes itself is situated in a quiet back street that affords a peaceful stay. The room we had was clean, modern and comfortable and provided us with all that we needed for our five-night tourist stay. The general condition of the hotel (lobby, common areas, lift etc) is good and welcoming. The breakfast arrangements were just right for us. A self-service buffet in an informal and friendly setting with a good choice of hot and cold food never failed to provide a positive start to our day. Having praised the structure and facilities at the Hermes, however, all that can very quickly be forgotten in the event of poor service or uncaring staff. Nothing could have been further from the truth!! From the moment of our arrival until the time of our departure we were extremely impressed by the warmth, friendliness and efficiency of all the staff. An excellent value hotel in a superb central location. We arrived in the evening during the demonstrations and got caught up in the tear-gas being fired by the police in the main square. Some people complained on here about the size of the elevator...wtf...it is Europe. Just enjoy those differences. This is a great hotel. If you plan to play full court basketball in the room, then try the hilton, but this is ideal for one or two in a double room who come to Athens to see the sites. This is the classic cheap big-city-hotel. The type in which there's only a sleepy old clerk at the reception, followed by a slow tiny elevator. Non-luxury. Rooms are scarce, small and beds are simple and inexpensive, clean though. Location is good, neighborhood safe. Here you get what you pay for. Good to spend the night but don't expect VIP.

This hotel was a delight. A competent and friendly staff, a hot breakfast every morning and plenty of hot water for showering, which is sometimes rare in Greece. The room was Spartan but served us well.

We only stayed one night at this small, convenient hotel, but were very pleased with it. The taxi driver who drove us there said, "Oh, Hermes is nice hotel, very clean" - and he was right. The reception staff was extremely helpful with directions and let us store our luggage before we checked in. We didn't try the Continental breakfast, so can't give […] it a rating. The room was a decent size (not much view, but opening window), updated, tiled bathroom with tub, two single beds pushed together, and a pleasant Scandinavian look to the furnishings. The walls weren't thick, but I doubt if the usual clientele would be rowdy types. Rates were reasonable and there was an elevator (small!) to get you to the upper floors. Work is being done on the roof to allow a good view of the Acropolis. And if you want to be near the "fun" part of Athens, the Plaka district is the place to be. You can walk out the Hermes Hotel door into all the shopping and eating places you'll ever want or need. The only downside is the ever-present Athens traffic. We're in our late 60's, very fit, but even so had to remember that streets in this old part of town are narrow and traffic doesn't stop for slowpokes. We'd definitely go back to the Hermes again if we were in Athens. Les mer

Good location walking distance to the Acropolis and restaurants. There is no good street in Athens, all streets dirty, graffiti walls, smelly. Hotels is clean and modern, better than most we've seen in Athens. They don't have free Internet, got to pay $2 EU per hour and then wait an hour fornthe page too load.

This is my second stay at the Hermes, and I would certainly stay there again. The hotel is very clean and quiet and is close to all of the major sites. There are several very good restaurants within walking distance and it is less than a five minute walk to Syntagma Square and ten minutes to the Agora, Roman Forum, or Acropolis. Having stayed at many […] hotels in Athens and Greece as a whole, I return to the Hermes because of the modern conveniences such as the modern and relatively large (compared to manyGreek hotels) bathrooms, wireless internet throughout the building (with a small fee), and heating/air-conditioning that works much better than most hotels where I've stayed. My one issue is that many members of the staff could have been more helpful. After traveling to Athens and arriving after 5PM I had to wait for 40 minutes for my room to be ready. I also needed to add two additional nights to my stay and the staff required me to recheck-in at 7AM after my initial stay ran out. The reason why this seemed a bit strange to me is that I already had booked the additional nights weeks in advance. I was hoping that the staff could accomodate me since I had to catch a 7:30 bus and I was trying to avoid any early moring tie-ups. In the end, this was only a minor inconvenience, but when I asked if I could just combine the two reservations and roll any charges over, the staff acted as if I had asked them to resurrect the dead. Great Location Hotel Hermes has a great location and is where you would like to stay if you want reasonable comfort and a good experience. The staff is really friendly and all the essentials were present in the hotel I was traveling from Dubai and needed an adapter for my phone chager.
