Vi bodde her noen netter på vår ferie i California. Et supert og flott hotell med deilige senger og god service. Flott bassengområde som vi var mye ved, og telefon der man kunne bestille "room-service". Supert å få servert drikke ved solsengen. Hotellet ligger i et veldig hyggelig, middelklassepreget og stille boligområde. Jeg hadde et par joggeturer […] i nabolaget og møtte stadig blide og hyggelige mennesker som hilste. Rommene ligger spredt i flere bygninger og ikke nødvendigvis i hovedhuset uten at det er noe problem. Vi hadde kort vei til både parkering og basseng, mens frokostsalen lå "over gårdsplassen" i hovedhuset. Gratis parkering på området, men noe gangavstand (maks 100 meter) dersom det er mye belegg. It was very nice, I would definitely stay in that hotel on my next visit to San Jose.

Really liked it and can't wait to go back and spedn the whole weekend.

From checking in to leaving (reluctantly) it was an experience beyond the norm. Rack-rate rooms are spacious. Bathroom spotless.We enjoyed the buffet breakfasts, a bargain. Staff sincerely friendly. Pool, spa etc very nice. Cost very reasonable.

Overall, I was happy with the hotel. The entrance is beautiful and the surrounding park is great. I took a little bike ride and wished I had brought my tennis rackets. The staff was friendly and check-in and out was the easiest I've ever experienced. But the room itself was dingy and the bathroom wasn't 100% clean. The grounds and the hotel are immaculate, the immediate area surrounding it though are not on par with the hotel itself. It was comfortable with many amenities, a good hotel over all.

Great hotel overall and everything you want for business or leisure! Perfect for either type of stay! Have done for business meetings & taken the family for a local getaway. Food in the restaurants is amazing and the new outdoor lounge is a nice surprise (heat lamps are great when cold & they'll give you a blanket!). Music & entertainment on some nights! […] Hotel offers a variety of holiday functions & great for corporate or family events such as weddings,celebrations, etc. Fitness center is better than most and swimming area is very nice! Haven't made it to the spa yet, but will do next time, looks relaxing! Staff is wonderful and I have always had the best service fromeveryone! My little one likesot hang out in the library by the lobby to play chess and there are computers/printers available for business or other. This place is a hidden gem. The staff was excellent. Great breakfast. Wonderful grounds, everything was just Great. I lived in San Jose for 10 years and never even heard of it. Great rates. Will stay there many more times.

Very nice clean hotel. There was a couple problems I found during the first day. The sink was partially clogged and the refrigerator cabinet was broken. They were very responsive and fixed it right away. Other than that I had a very good time. The gym/workout area was very nice and clean. The surrounding area was not your average tourist place. This hotel was located in a nice suburb next to a very nice park, weather permitting it was a great place to walk. Hotel had great flower gardens and outdoor areas to sit and have service. They need to provide a good local map to access all the freeways which are plentiful. San Jose down town is not that attractive so you are left to the malls.The toilet […] seats were too low especially for men. Les mer

What a delightful stay! An overnight followed by Sunday Brunch was the perfect way to celebrate our mother's 94th birthday. Our room had everything we needed....roomy, comfortable....perfect! Highly recommend.

This was a very pleasant place to stay. Grounds were beautiful, staff pleasant, room comfortable.

The hotel was very nice. One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at and will likely stay there again when traveling to San Jose for business.

Like others have commented, this is in a neighborhood and not close to anything. However, it is quiet, very clean and has a comfortable bed. The architecture is really the draw and the balancing of the ambience with modern updating of the rooms is done well.

hayes Mansion has always been beautiful many people do not even know its their since it's hiden by homes around it. It was quite, clean, and just perfect to get away for the weekend. The pool is big and heated the grounds are clean as well. the room is small but comfortable.

Though a little bit away from San Jose downtown, it is good. (It looks there is no breakfast place. But was ok for me.)

Don't get suckered in by the name or the pictures, this is kind of like being in a college dorm all over again...

Hotel is beautiful but surrounding neighborhood/hotel is unsafe. Within a few hours of parking at the hotel, we got our entire belongings in the back of the truck cleaned out!!!!

The hotel was great. I definitely recommend it without reservation. There were just some things...a broken curtain which really should have been noticed because it would not budge. Also, the AC was a bit loud, like an alarm on a fuzzy station so not too bad. The biggie was the lack of helpful information of the front desk staff. I asked about restuarants […] and churches and got nothing helpful. Turns out, there was a church service on site! Didn't know about it until late on Sunday. with no restaurants around, the restaurant really needs to up their game slightly. It's almost there. Better coffee, better bread. The hotel seemed understaffed. All this said, it is way better than anything else! IT is actually really good! Les mer

There is enough beauty and nostalgia here to make this a nice place. Even if you dont stay here, visit it. The Cons: My screen to my window had fallen out and was sitting on the bushes outside. the silicon in the bathtub was sloppy and I could see the black mildew under it and on the bottom of the soap shelf. Not to mention, the tub drain wouldnt seal […] well enough to enjoy a bath. In short, i'm glad I stayed, but probably wouldnt stay again. Les mer

Very nice for the price.

The staff were respectful and more than willing to help when needed. My wife and I went to hotel for a little r and r. This place was amazing, incredible room service and all the amenities needed!! Absolutly so reason to leave hotel or room if one desired.

I believe this is a five star Hotel. I have no complaints. It's a beautiful place and very relaxing.

A bit difficult to find but elegant. Nice appointments and design. You do not feel like you are in a box. Rooms are not big but design makes it inviting.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my wife. Wanted a place with tennis and access to the general area of San Jose. This was a great choice. A large public park immediately adjacent has 3 tennis courts, no charge to use. Beautiful setting, but not in business area or near downtown or airport. Off the beaten path, 15 minutes from Downtown SJ. Watch out for HUGE cost on room service! 22 percent PLUS $2.00 per person!!! $60.00 for two lemonades, a cheeseburger and a chix wrap! Food is good tough, so that helps.

I've been to San Jose on business many times, but never knew about this hotel until Hotels.com had a special. The Dolce Hayes mansion is a 5 "Diamond" hotel. The grounds are immaculate, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The Spanish Colonial Revival architecture is beautiful inside and out. There's a feeling of being "pampered at […] home" at this hotel. If you are lucky enough to have a room on the second floor, you can enjoy your breakfast on the lanai. Some rooms on the first floor open to a large patio. They boast 3 different eating areas: the bar, a main dining room, and the restaurant. I didn't eat at the restaurant, but the main dining room, and the bar has similar menus. The food was only ok. I would have expected a higher end menu at a Mansion, and the flavor was good, but not great. The bartender did tell me that the regular chef was not working during my stay, so the food came out slowly. If you don't have a time limit, it's enjoyable conversational dining. The bar is beautifully done and inviting. There's a small alcove with a couple of love chairs and a small fireplace. Perfect for intimate conversation and still close to the bar. There are many rooms where one can get away from any noise or just to engulf yourself in a book, or work. The Wifi is accessible anywhere. It's a perfect place for individual stays, or company events. The only drawback is that its hard to find as Mapquest shows the Mansion right off a main road. It is a hidden gem in a quaint neighborhood. I will definitely be returning to this establishment and tell everyone about this place... or maybe not and keep it all to myself! Les mer

I stayed here thanks to a Sudden Amazing Price that purported to be half the usual rate. I doubt I would stay here, then, at full price. The hotel was not as nice as you might think from the photos, but it was certainly quite a nice hotel. Maid service was a little spotty, but the room was very clean and nicely appointed. The surrounding area is certainly […] a good neighborhood and very convenient to much of South San Jose. Bottom line? I'd stay here again, at half price. If I were going to pay the full rate, I'd likely want to spend that money somewhere else. Les mer

Seemed a bit far from the airport (we had just flown in from Atlanta and it was 11:30pm at check in). Reception area was difficult to locate because there was no signs upon entering the "compound grounds". Front desk personnel was very friendly and courteous. Unfortunately, due to late arrival there was No food or drinks or room service available except […] vending machines (and food in machine was stale). Surrounding neighborhood was okay. Front desk said there were some fast food places in the area (although we didn't see any on our way in). Room was nice enough, give it maybe a 3.5. Didn't stay for breakfast so can't comment on the food. The grounds were pretty. Will probably stay at the Wynham next time because its about the same room quality and very close to the airport. The history attached to this hotel and the actual mansion made for a very nice environment, and a pleasant change from your everyday chain hotels. The hotel staff were all very nice and friendly. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We will definitely be back again.

The Hayes isn't in the heart of the city and there certainly aren't any bars or restaurants in walking distance but the beautiful grounds and history of the estate make it a very romantic option. Add the incredible value for the quality of the rooms and level of service and you've got a great deal.

My wife and I had very nice time at the hotel and the staff were great. Room service was good as well. We plan on going back again soon.

From the minute we drove up to the Dolce Hayes Mansion to check-in and walking into the room, then dinner at the restaurant -- the entire experience was terrific. The staff is friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The rooms are very nice and the mansion itself and the grounds are beautiful. It was a great choice to stay here.

Reasonably priced and near the SJ Airport. But... the bar closes at 10pm and the steam room doesn't open until 10am. Moreover, my wifi didn't work and the staff was less than helpful.

The main building is beautiful--restored period wood everywhere, just beautiful. We stayed in the ballroom wing, which has pretty much been modernized inside. The room was basically a standard hotel room, nothing special, but clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, it being November, none of the outdoor lounges were operating--we probably would have hung […] out and had cocktails if they were. The mansion seems to be about 15 minutes to half an hour from any of the main attractions in San Jose--downtown area, Winchester Mystery house. A little bit of a drive, but nothing too bad. We wanted to try their champagne brunch, but scheduling didn't permit. We didn't get to sample much of the place's character, but it was pleasant enough, and we'd like to try again, hopefully staying in the main house to see what that's like.
