we stayed at the discovery at marigot bay hotel in march for our honeymoon. when we arrived the hotel was more beautiful that we had expected and the room exceeded our expectations. the on site restaurants are some of the best in the bay and we ate there almost everynight. some nights there was live music playing by the poolside bar which was very enjoyable. […] its was easy to relax by the pool all day or head out of town for some island activities. The hotel itself is excellent although the grounds are not immaculate. The facilities and the staff are great. The view, the rooms and the restaurant are all excellent as well. The hotel has a small enclave of shops, restaurants and services which are everything that could be expected but the area is relatively remote and the neighborhood is a fairly […] poor part of a Caribbean Island. My husband and I went to the Marigot Bay Hotel in August. The hotel was just beautiful! The rooms were modern - the bathrooms were amazing! We stayed in a room, rather than a suite, but were perfectly happy with the amenities. I also cannot speak highly enough of the staff at the hotel. Each person, from the concierge to the landscapers, went out of […] their way to be friendly and make sure we enjoyed out stay! The restaurants at the hotel were all quite good, particularly the Hurricane Hole bar... We found there were plenty of other options in the bay or just up the hill from the hotel (the concierge can arrange for free transportation to the restaurants up the hill). Some commenters seemed to think the number of restaurant options were a concern, but we thought there was plenty of variety. The beach was an easy ferry ride away and was small (with coarser sand), but not very crowded when we visited. Regarding the ferry - it really is 2 minutes and we never needed to wait more than a minute or two for it to come. One day, we took a water taxi to TiKaye beach for snorkeling - the sand was finer and the snorkeling was great, so that is always an option if you don't like the Marigot Bay beach. Activities: We hiked the Gros Piton - it took about 5 hours and we were sore for a few days - but was worth it for the experience and the views. We went to the Drive In Volcano afterwards, and the mineral baths. It was worth seeing the volcano, but I wouldn't make a trip just for that site (add the mineral baths if you don't want to hike - they were awesome). We loved St. Lucia and loved the Marigot Bay Hotel. Would recommend it to anyone and would like to go back soon! Les mer

We have just returned from a thoroughly enjoyable 10 day break at The Marigot Hotel. I have never taken the time to write a review before, but felt this hotel deserves special mention (we have travelled widely across the world) What really stands out is the exceptional friendliness of all the staff, including the taxi service arranged by the hotel from […] the airport. Nothing was too much trouble. We were upgraded to a suite on the top floor with a spectacular view . This is not ideal for people with difficulties with stairs (such as myself) but we were offered a room at ground level. We opted for the view however and were offered a golf cart lift around the back to reduce the amount of stairs considerably. The rooms were spacious, furnished to a high standard and specification, great walk in shower and comfortable bedding. Service by room attendants was exceptional too. WiFi was complimentary as well as bottled water and tea/coffee making facility. A nice touch was a weekly informal cocktail event in foyer where one met the hotel management over a complimentary glass of wine or Rum punch and snacks. I would certainly consider returning . This place isn't a five star hotel - and I'm not sure it measures up to being a small luxury hotel either. It's fine if viewed as a 3-4 star resort hotel - nice location, clean rooms, good pool. It's not five star because the rooms are too dark, furniture shows showed signs of wear and tear, the breakfast buffet looked right out of a motel.

The people of St Lucia are the nicest and friendliest of all the Islands. We enjoyed our stay at Marigot Bay very much. The rooms were beautiful with the best bathrooms I have ever seen. We loved the breakfast especially the fresh fruit and the cappachino coffee. The only down size was that the gym still did not have any working treadmills as was commented […] by previous visitors and the taxicabs from the resort were very expensive. The staff made arrangements for excursions for us and the water ferry took us to the restaurants across the bay.A truly relaxing and beautiful week in paradise. If you can make your transportation arrangements ahead of time, it might be a lot cheaper. All in all it was a wonderful week and the staff helped to make it perfect Les mer

If you want to lay in the sun at the pool in the relative silence then this is your place! It was very quiet. No action here, come to read, lay out and relax. A place for couples.

The hotel has a lovely outlook on a picture- postcard bay. It's been very smartly done up but is a little characterless. One big drawback for me was the canned music everywhere, by the pool, in the restaurant, and by the bar, as it would otherwise be a very peaceful location. Food in restaurant rather pretentious, not outstanding and quite pricey: we […] preferred eating at the very simple JD's at the end of the bay, with genuine local food. There is a ferry that takes you across the bay either to the restaurants or to the beach, 'though that is small and not very well tended. There was nothing really wrong about the hotel, but nothing to draw me back again. Les mer

While the hotel is located in a very pretty harbor, you have to take a ferry across the harbor to get to the very small beach, which the hotel shares with another hotel. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are quite nice. However, there are no elevators in this hotel, so while the view from our fifth floor room was great, the hike up to the room […] was a pain. Good exercise facility but the treadmills were all out of order. The road from the main highway to the hotel was one of the worst roads I have ever seen. The one bedroom suite was beautiful with a fabulous view of Marigot bay and the marina. The gardens are gorgeous. We watched hummingbirds and other birds - a treat for winter weary northerners. Staff is friendly - they make a point of remembering your name. There is a 2 minute ferry ride across the bay from the marina to a small beach which would be […] fine for families with children. The quality of the hotel food was a let down in comparison to the beautiful, modern rooms & lovely view of a very peaceful bay

Marigot Bay is, in Michener's words, the most beautiful bay in the Caribbean, and this resort does it justice. Rooms and especially bathrooms are gorgeous, the setting is perfect, the pools and the restaurants outstanding. Two downsides: there is no beach in front of the hotel, but a 2 minute free ride across the bay away; the road to Marigot is atrocious, […] and if you are renting a car, it would have to be an SUV. Marigot Bay Hotel was an amazing experience and exceeded all of our expectations. We traveled around to other parts of the Island which made us realize how nice we had it. From the rooms to the service, Marigot Bay does it right! Everything that is worth seeing on St. Lucia is easily accessible from Marigot Bay and taking a water taxi is quicker and […] a much better experience than a taxi. The hotel and the overall service was excellent! I have no real complaints. The only thing I would say is that they need to find a way to prevent the birds from hovering around the breakfast buffet and tables which can be somewhat irritating. Otherwise the whole experience was wonderful.

Le plus bel hôtel où j'ai déjà séjourné! Nous avons tout simplement zappé certaines autre activités prévus pendant ce séjour pour pouvoir profiter de l'hôtel! De plus le personnel est vraiment très sympathique et professionnel!
