My wife and I loved our stay at The Grand hotel in Toronto, Canada the staff was awesome and free breakfast Buffett who does that in an upscale hotel? One word AWESOME!

Always clean and comfortable- It's a easy solution when staying in downtown Toronto .

From the moment I arrived my experience was perfect. The valet service, checking in with Christine at reception to my luggage arriving in the room the service was second to none. Calling me to check if the room was what I expected was absolutely the clincher. The Grand Hotel offers a real spa type environment, all pictures on their website relating to the pool, roof top hot tubs, spa and Restaurant are all accurate and impressive. Citrius Lounge food and service was particularly excellent for an "In Hotel" Restaurant, however the wine selection was dissappointing. The Roof top hot tubs are a must see and […] provide the most specatular view of the Toronto sky line at night, that I have ever seen and they do not close until 12:30 am. Cleaning Staff although curtious, provide a very basic service and I found that room to be more tidy than clean upon my return. The room are generous in size and decorated well. We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Hotel & Suites. The staff were both helpful & polite. Breakfast was delicious! The room was very comfortable with 2 flat screen TVs. Several blocks away is Dundas Square with plenty of shops and eating opportunities. Our only complaint is about fellow guests who don't seem to be considerate of others in the early hours […] of the morning! Les mer

The hotel is beautiful, from the front door to the roof top patio. Which is a must see. A view of the city skyline from the two hot tubs. Tables, loungers and even a big screen movie at night. Words can not do it justice. The staff were great. Especially Zita who worked the bar. Great at her job. I only have two negatives: The beds were a little worn […] and could use to be changed. The neighboring area behind the hotel was not so great. Close to everything. Less than a 5 min walk to the Eaton Centre and Dundas square. We stayed 9 days and enjoyed them all. Les mer

Had some trouble when arrived with the reservation and the price. Seems to be a bad booking system from the hotel itself. All Fixed. The spa on the roof is a big must, have a perfect view on downtown and it doesn't close at nine o clock like toronto loll... Loved the ambiance of the hotel.

Stayed here for a little over a week. The doormen were amazing, the shuttle service was great, and breakfast was great. I liked the amenities, the gym was really nice. The hotel definitely needs an update, I had the bedsheets replaced twice due to stains and holes. There were spiders in the sills that got into my room as far as my bed. After killing […] 5 of them I asked to be moved, they offered to move me from a room with a king sized bed to a room with a queen sized bed at first but I insisted on getting moved to an equivalent room. When I got moved the 2nd room had spiders in the sill as well, they finally moved me to a room which got bug sprayed before I moved in and I didn't have to deal with anymore spiders. Les mer

As I read a few negative reviews of this hotel I wasn't certain of what to expect. Therefore, I went in with the attitude that I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than disappointed. Great Boutique style hotel. The rooms were nice and roomy, with wood floors. equipped with standard amentities, and 2 TV's, the rooms are made for your comfort. i found the bathroom a bit small, but for downtown Toronto, was quite pleased. This hotel has plenty of potential as the rooms are large but could use some upgrading. There were little things about the room such as the bathroom door sticking and difficult to open, sink drains not working properly, etc that are easily fixed and would make the stay all the more enjoyable. The location is a little sketchy but we encountered no problems. […] The breakfast buffet was great as it contained a full hot and cold menu plus it was free. With the three of us it definitely saved us $50 per day. The roof top lounge area has a fantastic view of the city skyline. The pool area was very nice. The hotel staff were courteous and helpful. Very nice place close to Yonge and Dundas. Nice price and nice view from the roof. The Bad house music needs to be turned off.

Beds were super comfortable and the complimentary breakfeast was fantatsic.

Was a bit disappointed when I first entered the hotel. The furniture in the reception area looked old and tired and the bathroom, although clean, definitely could use some fresh paint. However, the beds were comfy, the kitchenette was great and having a window that opened was a real plus... love fresh air!!. Staff were fabulous at this hotel, friendly and helpful! Rooms were clean and comfortable, prefer my bed a little firmer but the pillows were good. Parking was convenient and they provide a shuttle to downtown area which is really helpful. Breakfast buffet was really nice as well! definitely will stay again.

The reception area and resturant are first class, as are the communal areas. The breakfast was good with plenty of choise. However the room we were in was starting to show it's age. The couch was threadbare in places, there was no door on the freezer compartment in the fridge. The bathroom door didn't close properly. The room was clean except for the […] skirting board in the bathroom. The pool area was clean but the pool was quite cold and the hot tub was 'HOT'!! the changing areas to both the pool and gym are quite tatty and in need of some attention. Overall thhis is a good hotel in a reasonable location but could do with a little TLC to bring it up to scratch. Les mer

This hotel was everything we hoped for and more. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and the views from the rooftop jacuzzis were amazing. It was extremely convienent to have a complementary hot breakfast every morning and the sushi by Eddie at the restaurant at night was also terrific (but of course you have […] to purchase this). They also offer a complementary shuttle just about anywhere in town (but not back). Our only complaint might be the attitude of one of the guys who drove the shuttle. He wasn't very professional and at times rude, however he was the exception. Most of the staff were very professional and went out of their way to ensure our experience was all we wanted. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we would definitely stay again! Les mer

I booked this hotel because it was our anniversary and my husband loves hot tubs; the grand has hot tubs on the roof. The hot tubs were fine but they were blasting MTV (it was not music even but an inappropriate TV show) and when staff were asked by us and another couple to turn it down they said it was a management decision. We called the fron desk […] and they said the same thing. Of course there was no management around so I was told to leave a message on someone's voicemail which was returned the next day. Breakfast in the morning was OK (hard to screw up breakfast) the floor in the hotel restaurant was so sticky the front desk people looked up when I walked across the lobby. Les mer

On the edge of an empty area (this is Canada so it's not the South Bronx). But, reasonable access once you understand the streetcars. Hotel itself is slightly faded, but the staff are wonderful. The suites are essentially large rooms with a wall around the bedroom. On this basis, the price is on the high side. If I needed to be in this area for some […] reason, I'd certainly come back. This is an elegant hotel that is priced very aggressively in the Toronto market. We stayed over 4th of July weekend and walked to many of the sites we wanted to see. It's an $8 cab fare to the waterfront. The view from the two hot tubs on the roof is spectacular. The only negative we have is that they have a large movie screen on the roof with the hot […] tubs that shows a Canadian version of MTV that is quite annoying. I'm not sure that management realizes how spectacular the hot tubs on the roof are by themselves. Les mer

The overall stay was great, would have liked to stay longer to enjoy everything that was offered to customers including jacuzzis on the rooftop and the indoor pool. The room was well kept and surprisingly well equipped with a kitchenette, 2 flat panel T.V's (one in the lounge area, one by the bed). The surrounding neighbourhood was a little rough around […] the edges but easily dismissed in the comfort of the hotel. Quite close to downtown shopping and a great restaurant across the street with fair prices and good service. The buffet breakfast was great with a wide selection of food and beverage. The Grand Hotel offered a great deal for the price. Can't wait to go again! Les mer

Nicely located with all the facilities. Breakfast included,newspaper, spa, swimming pool,etc.

Reserved 2 queens. They only had a king. The least the frontdesk rep could have done was apologize but they just acted like, who cares? Housekeeping did not keep up with replacing towels or toilet paper...ran out. Set up appointment for massage and the masseus no-showed depsite contacing the front desk twice. The suites were charming but the couch in […] it completely underminded their attempt to make it nice...it was old and looked dirty. The beds were uncomfortable as well. All in all, I would probably stay again because there were some nice things like the roof deck with hot tub and the breakfast terrace - but definitely not at full price and would have to lower my expectations. Staff is extremely helpful and breakfast was fantastic. Did not expect all the amenities that were in our room.

We traveled to Toronto to celebrate our first anniversary. We picked the hotel for the location to the metro and the complimentary breakfast. The room was like a mini apartment. Unfortunately, the shower knob did not work, so it was replaced. And then it broke at the first usage. One day they forgot to clean the room. The Hotel needs maintenance, the carpets are old, you can see everything is used and a little bid old. Overall we had a nice Stay. The Breakfast is good. The inside pool very nice. Even though we made advance reservation for a non-smoking room, the first room was a smoking room on a smoking floor (16th). The receptionist denied this, but said it was the only room left. When we complained, we received another room. In that room, the bathroom door was so bent out of shape that one could not close it. The spare bed was unmade (hair […] left). The beds were too soft for our taste. The brochure text says something about suites, and a separate sitting area, but it is only separated by the bathroom, so if you are looking to use the third bed, things get really crowded. This hotel is really grand in terms of price. But the reality doesn't match with the photos shown. The swimming pool is really very small. The top deck swimming pool is more like an over sized bathtub than a pool. It took repeated calls to get some plumbing fixed in my bathroom. Overall a below average experience. Very nice staff, overall nice hotel, magnificent vue on the city and the Lake Ontario. Nice breakfast buffet, gorgeous swimming pool. Recommend this hotel.

The hotel rooms exceeded my expecatation and the concierge and bartender were super friendly. However, the initial welcome from Front Office was dismissive and a little rude. The breakfast staff seemed better suited to a uppity nightclub. Rooms are not cleaned thoroughly every day. For the money we paid, it was definitely worth it.

The neighborhood was better than expected. We walked about 6 blocks to a large complex with theatres and restaurants and did not feel unsafe. It was fairly busy even at 10 pm on a Sunday night. The hot tubs on the roof were enjoyable and the views very nice. Room could have been cleaner. With the trend toward very dark furniture, hotels have to be […] better at dusting. Felt like the bathroom needed a good cleaning in the corners. Toilet, sink and tub were fine; but the corners were neglected. I had a business trip in Toronto and hooked up with this hotel through your web site. I was very pleased with the location (short walk to Yonge St.) the room was very spacious with a great king size bed and nice sleeper sofa for the children. It cam with a large ref/freezer that kept our ice cream cold and they also had an electric stove top and microwave. […] Although non of that is needed due to the excellent buffet breakfast they had everyday. I estimated we saved at least $70/day having breakfast at the hotel include in the price. The front desk also had fresh fruit every day, and the help was outstanding. The ONLY issue I had was the hotel was over sold and it was hard to get extra pillows for my boys to sleep on the pull out sofa, and it took over 45 minutes to get housekeeping up to our room with a plunger to unclog the toilet. One other negative was the limited if any service at breakfast. IF they can get better servers to take away your dirty plates and provide fresh water this would be a 5 star hotel The veiw of the islands and the city was fantastic, and the rooftop hot tubs at night was a memory my family will remember forever (We saw the Persiod meteor showers from the hot tub). Being a slightly older hotel I did not expect the A/C to be that good but even on the hottest weekends of the year our room was a cool 68F. Check in and Check out was effortless, and covered parking was very reasonable with in out privledges all day. I look forward to additional business trips into Toronto just so I can stay at this outstanding hotel. Les mer

This was a great hotel. We booked four rooms for two nights. Customer service and rooms were excellent. Facilities included swimming pool, jacuzzi on the roof with projected TV and gym. Complimentary breakfast was very good. No hesitation in recommending this hotel.
