This is a newer hotel in nice condition and conveniently located between the airport and downtown. It is right along the freeway and MAX light rail to and from the airport and downtown, so transportation is very accessible. The neighborhood that it's in, however, has no attractions and is very suburban.

I've stayed at this hotel many times because it is within walking distance of my destination. It's always clean-not fancy but spacious. When I asked about having my grand-daughter spend one night, the staff upgraded my room to a suite-no charge. Small exercise room. Good indoor pool. The surrounding neighborhood is a bit sketchy, and the iPhone map app is confused about how to get there (we looped twice before navigating the old fashioned way). An adjacent guest thought some very resonant bass music would be a good idea at 11pm, but the front desk shot that down very quickly. Hello! The staff at this Comfort Inn did an excellent job at making me feel comfortable and welcomed. The hotel is well managed and well staffed. The morning breakfast was tasty and had a nice variety, from waffles to boiled eggs to sausage gravy and biscuits to cereal, something for everyone. The location was great, 10-15 minutes south of the Portland […] Airport. Although it looks like a busy intersection (82 and an interstate (number?)), the hotel was very quiet. The room was clean, nicely laid out, and very comfortable. They also have a laundry room on the 2nd floor and in-room coffee makers. The expressway next to the hotel is noisy even in the rooms unless you are on the side street side. The fitness room is a joke with old equipment and or does not work. The neighborhood is on the sad, poor side with lots of homeless in the area. The hotel people were very helpful. Not sure I would stay here again.

Every Staff member we met was friendly, helpful and made us feel good about staying at this Comfort Inn Hotel. This was especially important as a family member was having surgery. We were looking for an affordable hotel that had easy access to downtown for our recent Portland trip and the Comfort Inn fit the bill perfectly. The hotel is conveniently located right next to a Max station and the freeway. Upon arrival we were greeted in a friendly manner and checked in very efficiently. The girl at the front desk also let us know […] that if we were planning pn heading downtown she could provide us with directions and a map. We stayed in room 248 and found the room (and the hotel) very clean. The only issue we had was that the room is right next to the freeway and on the first night we found it quite loud. However, based on a tip from the staff the noise was muted by turning up the fan in the room. Breakfast was great. They had a lot of selection, including fresh fruit, and the buffet was kept full by the attendant whose only focus was the breakfast. All together it was a great experience. The hotel is very well managed and the staff were extremely helpful...bonuses like free parking and breakfast make this an easy choice for our next Portland trip. Les mer

The hotel was decent, clean and comfortable. My one complaint was the doors to the rooms, most of them seem to slam shut. The 2 rooms next to us were together and they were in and out constantly, the doors slam hard and shake the walls. The neighborhood wasn't the best. Was a bit concerned about the other comments about not being in nicest area, but we pulled right into parking ramp, a few steps into building and had an excellent stay. Also, I must say, I didn't notice the surrounding neighborhood as being anything to be concerned about.

This hotel was a VERY nice surprise. Seriously well cared for, clean, and updated. The hotel is much nicer than its star rating and the staff was professional, very helpful and courteous. The room was everything we could have asked for. Updated, attractive, clean, and even had a lovely, large window seat. The breakfast was varied but standard, including […] waffles, yogurt, fruit, juices, pastries, cereal and hard boiled eggs, among other things. The wheat and the cinnamon waffles were a nice touch. Rail into downtown is convenient with a very short walk from the hotel. A day pass is about $5, and covers trains and buses. It was a quick trip to the zoo which stops near the gate. The hotel's area is not the best. We felt quite safe around the hotel itself. Only thing that was seriously uncomfortable (and NOT associated with the hotel) was the Rail Line's filthy elevator. This would ONLY be a consideration if you plan to use the transit. I would not go there alone. It is a very diverse neighborhood which is nice. Lots of great ethnic restaurants in the area. My room stunk of stale cigarette smoke, there were cigarette burn stains on the bathtub and toilet seat. The maids did not clean our room between days for our two day stay. The lighting was awful! All florescent bright lights and at the vanity you look yellow. For the free breakfast, you get what you pay for. Nothing was restocked, coffee was empty, […] decaf that was there was not good. It was great! Beds were great, clean rooms and a nice breakfast. It was a good value for the money and I would stay there again hands down. Not in the best neighborhood though. we were very pleased with our stay.

The location of the hotel was in a kind of run down part of town but the hotel it self was great! The beds and pillows were super comfortable , the room was very clean and it was nice that they provided FREE covered parking! We didn't use the pool, hot tub, wifi or eat the continental breakfast, but it was nice that it was all there. Hotel was your standard room - TV, beds, bathroom, etc. Lighting was a little harsh, but overall great place to crash. Beds were comfy! I have stayed at many comfort inns previously. When I booked the room, I was expecting more of the same. My 4+ rating keeps in mind the price range (inexpensive) of this hotel in a transitional neighborhood. There are almost done with a complete interior renovation, although you would not realize this from the outside. Gave the neighborhood a 3 because as a single female, the area might not be the safest at night, but I didn't have any issues. Otherwise location is super convenient as it's right next to MAX and bus line which will take you to/from airport/downtown PDX and if you need a bit more flexibility, the bus will take you just down the road to a nearby Hertz […] to rent a car for cheaper than the airport and parking is free at the hotel! Didn't partake in the breakfast as I stopped by the nearby grocery (also accessible via bus) and filled up the fridge in my room. Les mer

We truly enjoyed this hotel, it's family friendly, great location and good price. The only downfall was highway noise, otherwise would have given it a 5!

Comfortable, clean room; easy to find from I-205. Enjoyed the amenities - breakfast, heated pool and hot tub (and the fresh cookies at the front desk!). Motel close to Max for conveniently getting around Portland without having to drive. We would not hesitate to stay here again on our next trip to Portland.

This is a decent hotel for the price. I was traveling alone on business and felt quite safe here even though some reviewers have remarked that the neighborhood is not the best. I especially like the covered parking where you can get your suitcases in and out of the trunk without being doused by the frequent Portland rain. I would have rated it overall […] a 4 except for one thing: they put those ghastly "ice cream cone" fluorescent lamps in the 4 fixtures with glass shades above the vanity, which faced into the room. When I turned on the switch I thought I was in the county jail! So bright and glarey it actually hurt my eyes! Somebody is obviously trying to save money, but you can't call yourself the "Comfort Inn" when you blast the guests eyeballs out with this horrible lighting. I had to unscrew two of the lamps, then put a scarf over the remaining two. Only then was I able to look in the mirror without squinting. The bedside lamp had a fl. bulb in it, but the fabric shade made it very easy on the eyes. The bed was very comfortable with nice down pillows and the heating unit fan was blessedly quiet. (You don't get that every day on business trips.) I will probably stay here again when I'm in Portland, but I will bring along my own 40W or 60W incandescent light bulbs next time and I advise you to do the same! Les mer

Hotel is descent and staff was friendly. It's located close to Hwy 84 so one might get some noise for room facing the hwy. It's outside the free transit zone but one can drive to Lloyd's mall , approx 3 miles, that has free parking to hop on the Maxlite for free ride to downtown. Overall good experience.
