Old Stone Inn - Niagara Falls

Super stay. Staff very freindly and help full. Room decor very nice. Restaurant food excellent. Unfortunately not open for breaklfast. Will definitely stay there again on next visit to area.

We just came home from Niagara Falls. We stayed 2 nights at the Old Stone Inn. We got the room on sale and for what we paid, I was very impressed with the hotel. The pool was open when we were there although we did not use it. And the only working ice and pop machine are on the 1st floor which is inconveinant when our room was on the 3rd floor. The […] restaurant is a little pricey so we didn't eat there. But the hotel is great inside and very clean. I am very picky when it comes to hotels. The first thing we do is inspect the sheets, check the mattress and bathroom to make sure its clean or else I won't stay there. I did not find one thing to complain about as far as the cleanliness went. My husband's complaint was that there wasn't a tv channel guide or a snack machine. The location is about a 10 minute walk from Clifton Hill. We parked at the hotel for free on the first day and didn't use our car the whole weekend. We were able to walk everywhere. This is an "old school" inn with charm in a convenient location to all the sights. Yes, the TV's are old, and the wi-fi is slow, but I would definitely stay here again. And the lounge has lots of comfy sofas to sit and chat.

Hotel food is excellant. Service also very good. Would stay there again. John Ottawa, Ont.

The location of this hotel was wonderful, you could get just about anywhere in ten minutes. They do not charge for parking either, which is hard to find. A lot of things were closed while we were there. The indoor pool, bar and on many days the resturant were all closed. All the soda machines were out of order and there was only one working ice machine. […] I know we came during off season but they need to state that these things are closed during this time before people book the reservation. If we had paid the normal amount they charge for the room we would have been very upset seeing how it was mainly a place to sleep. The rooms were ok nothing too special, they do not have fridges or microwaves. The staff was very friendly and polite. Overall we had a nice vacation but would not return to this hotel for future stays. Les mer

Nice room, small bathroom-no refrigerator. Did have coffee pot and small hair dryer. Coke & Ice Machine on 3rd floor inopp...had to take elevator 1/2 way around motel to 1st floor for both. TV had limited channels to select from. Restaurant seemed nice but the prices were out of sight even for Niagara Falls-was given on the 3rd day a $10 off dinner […] voucher but when a NY Strip dinner starts at $25.95, it was a bit too much for our budget. Even 2 eggs and toast was the same price. I saw all the great reviews but I am not a high priced diner I guess...eat at a place to tell others I ate there isn't me. We ate at other places and the meals were a little less. The sliding windows opened up into a 3 inch(?) balcony and those windows were secured with an old broom handle as the lock didn't work. Did we sleep good? Yes..was it relaxing? Yes...would we go there again without the special found on Hotels.com...No! The room rate on the door said $265 a night...I stayed 4 nights for a little more than that. I am sure the big name hotels and casinos were a lot more per night but if you want a place off the main drag...except for all the tour buses going but 24/7, this would be your place. Les mer

The hotel was quaint but the elevator is located some distance from the lobby and there are so many doors in the hallways that navigating to and from the room with suitcases was a hassle. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The room was comfortable but the 19" TV could use an update. The location was great; an easy walk to all the sights […] and falls. I chose to stay at The Old Stone Inn for a solo weekend getaway for some R & R. Had a two night stay here and have nothing but good things to say! Super friendly staff, great atmosphere and clean rooms. The outdoor pool was closed during our visit, but the indoor pool was perfect and it was heated as well. The location is excellent and the staff made every effort to make our stay extra special. The hotel was value for money. Room was okay but the TV was small and the sound was very poor. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows. the food was very good but a little on the pricey side. The free parking was a bonus as most hotels in the area charge . I would go back if they have bigger rooms available.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Old Stone Inn. It is in a very good location, we parked our car there first day and didn't move it until we checked out. We walked everywhere. Very nice rustic feel. A perfect place for adults to conveniently walk to the casinos, sites and dinner -- or enjoy a dip in the indoor pool. This was a very good find and super value.

The hotel is supposed to have a romantic atmosphere, but I found it just old and gloomy. The room was comfortable enough, but with no view at all. The restaurant was overpriced and so was the room. For a little extra, go for a room with a view or at least a room with breakfast included!!

Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. The only minus was that the walls were very thin and we could hear our next room neighbours and the telly all night long ( so if you are a light sleeper, it might be a problem).We would definately go back.

This is defintely an older hotel without all the amenities of a newer chain. We went off season and it was impossible to get any service at the lounge. Other guests complained about the service of the dining facilities (we choose not to eat there). There were no guides in the room as to what was offered in the hotel, like dining, phone service, TV Guide, […] etc. It was adequate for our purpose and thank goodness we weren't in the hotel much. First...my whines: I wish it would have been a king bed, there were A LOT of doors to open to get to the elevators and to your room (almost like they've added on several times...annoying w/ luggage), and different areas of the hotel had a musty odor. Now, for the good stuff: All of my whines would not impact my decision to stay here again. I definitely […] would. It was really close to Horseshoe Falls, but still off the beaten path so you didn't have neon lights and crowds outside your hotel at all hours. The personal of the hotel was very helpful and polite. The rooms were not so illuminated and could be a bit more dust free. But I have to admit that the overall condition of the hotel, considering the economical price, was very good.

Our room was beautiful and was a nice set up. We were able to check in early which was great. Only tried to talk to front desk staff once during our 3 night stay. We could not reach them by phone, it just randg and rang and rang - left a message with rooms service and we are still waiting to be called back. I don't know the smoking by-laws in Niagara […] - but I often had to walk through smoke to get into the hotel - both guests and hotel staff smoking outside front door. We reserved at this hotel based upon others' positive reviews. We were very happy with our room--very clean, nice bedding, comfortable beds. We did not care that the television was older. We had a very comfortable stay. The Inn is conveniently located to the falls and Maid of the Mist as well as to the downtown area. Breakfast at the Inn was fantastic. […] We were surprised at how beautiful the dining area was--another nice touch. The next time we visit this area, we will stay at the Old Stone Inn again. Les mer

The outside seems rustic and old. They have a large roomy room. Very convinient and walking distance to the falls. Great location but no falls view.

The reviews that we read said that the Old Stone Inn was a great place to stay, but we were even more impressed with the actual experience. EVERYTHING was perfect, including the staff. We would not stay anyplace else at Niagara Falls. Thank you for a great time.

Great location. Lovely hotel. Lots of warmth. Some maintenance needed in outdoor pool area and parking lot. The restaurant was also a pleasure.

I book a room for 3 persons with 2 double beds, but the hotel give me a room have only 1 King size bed. Although they give me back the room with 2 beds, but is the kind of inconvenience. The shower tub is not working well and the water is clog. I asked the service and nobody come to fix. The food is good and the price is resonable. The hotel is OK for […] the price. Les mer

If you are looking for a more traditional style hotel (rather than a motel) at reasonable cost, this is well worth considering. In a very good location with decent sized rooms and helpful staff, we enjoyed our stay here. Only grumble would be service in the restaurant and bar - though food was good and competitively priced.

The hotel was ideal for what we booked it for, However the only small issues we had was getting extra towels, depending on who was behind the front desk it could be like pulling teeth. The Air Con worked well, to well, the thermostat did not work so it was either on full or not at all. We stayed at the Old Stone Inn to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and have no regrets. The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly and attentive to our needs. The hotel is near to the Falls, and other major attractions. We enjoyed the swimming pool and our meals in the dining room. Our room was very clean and the bathroom was recently renovated […] with a beautiful black granite floor, new tub, toilet etc. The room had new carpeting etc. The only minor issue was that we visited when the weather was very hot(100 degrees) and humid. The hotel needs to improve the air conditioning. Our room was cool enough but hallways were especially warm. However, if the weather would have been normal temperatures I am sure we would not have noticed the heat. We would stay here again should we decide to visit Niagara Falls. Les mer

A very Quaint , Quiet Hotel, with a very relaxing atmosphere. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and welcoming. The food was excellent.. I will defini tely stay at this hotel on my next visit to Niagara Falls.

This hotel was great but not perfect. It was a convienent location (5 minute walk from downtown) but away from the noisy crowds. We were told the indoor pool was heated and it was freezing! And people are picky with bathing suits there even though nothing is posted! Another down fall is there isn't a mini fridge so with it being so hot out you had no […] where to keep your bottled water cold. Les mer

The hotel looks a little humble from the outside but it is very nice inside and the location is great. The staff was very helpful. The TV in the room was a little outdated but who came to Niagara Falls to watch TV? The inside of the hotel requires a lot of walking (the elevator is quite far from the lobby) so if you have trouble walking this might not […] be for you. Otherwise I would recommend to hotel. Somewhat dark in their choice of the décor of the hotel. The room was very comfortable with a very comfortable bed. During our stay, the outside temp was very warm and the air conditioner just kept the room somewhat cool. Cumbersome to get your luggage to the room with many doors and stairs. Very clean and quiet room. Definitely would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the Falls! It was within a short walk to all the attractions.

Asked Reception where we could obtain some Maps etc ( the Hotel had nothing available) - could not tell us where the Information Office was - we eventually found it right across the road from the Hotel. I have never come across such unhelpful people. Room was OK, but three nights was more than enough - wouldn't go back there.

The hotel was good but not worth the extra money. We were on the 3rd floor and there isnt an elevator so it was a bit of a pain. Location was good.

We felt like we were visiting friends at there house. I can't belive a hotel experiance could be any better. We were very satisfied with our visit to Niagra Falls and our stay a The Old Stone Inn.Frank H
