Hotellet er 4* - kunne også vært 3* - men jeg veit ikke hvilke kriterier som ligger til grunn for slike tildeleser i utgangspunktet. Uansett, hotellet ligg veldig praktisk til i gangavstand til sentrum 20-25min fra setrum, Handlegaten Marihilf leder deg dit. grei standard på hotellet - fin pris.

Meget bra beliggenhet. Kort vei til knutepunkt på U-bahn, trikk og gåavstand til sentrum og diverse severdigheter. Prisen er slik 3 og 4-stjerners pleier å være, kanskje vanligvis i dyreste laget for min del, men denne gangen valgte jeg å bo fint og angrer ikke. The Hotel was okay, and the street was in a okay part of town. However the bathroom had a faulty shower, the floor was not heated so the floor never dried up. There is no internet in the rooms, but in the lobby. It is free for 30 mins per day, but the speed is horrible. There is no minibar. Not luxury, but offers solid comfort. I got a really good rate through hotels.com, 50% lower than listed price in the hotel. Rooms were very clean. Good bed and good bathroom. Other facilities not quite so great: very small TV and no kettle. Weird locks on the door. Friendly staff. Very close to the West Bahnhof, which is also a U-Bahn station, walking […] distance to the main shopping street. About 1h walk to the old town, but easy to get there by metro, as it's on the same line. All in all, very good value. Les mer

This is a very basic, no frills hotel. The brochure says they underwent a total renovation in 2002, which I highly doubt or they didn't make it to the third floor. The floor in my room was in desperate need of repair, the shower had mildew, and the tv was about 15 years old. There is an elevator but it only goes up to the second floor. This was no fun […] with luggage. There is wi-fi in the lobby only, and they have a computer that is available for guest use but it is very expensive and only in half hour increments. If you need to just quickly check email or flight info this is absurd. I asked about other internet places in the area and the receptionist couldn't think of any, saying there weren't any in the immediate area. It turns out there is a cheap internet place a block up the street. It was irritating to find how little help the staff was. I got the hotel for pretty cheap online compared to the prices listed at the desk. If you can get rooms for cheap and are planning on being out of the room for the whole day this is fine. If you are hoping to relax a bit in the evening I would go to one of the other thousand hotels that are in Vienna. Les mer

It was a peasant stay in this hotel not far from the city centre and the historic buildings and the shopping street. Convenient location for the metro lines as well. I would recommend this hotel for anybody travelling on a short stay to Vienna.

This is a really nice place with a great friendly staff. Its easy to get everywhere via U-Bahn and S-Bahn (including airport train and airport bus). The room was nice and big and just in the area are plenty of places for a bite to eat or a night cap. I'll stay here again for sure.

An excellent choice for the budget minded traveller, who wants to catch a glimpse of the true Vienna. Very spacious rooms with beautiful ceiling ornaments from a time when detail was in vogue. Location is great as well, close to the shopping areas of Mariahilferstraße, as well as walking distance to Schönbrunn and the Museum of Technology. The hotel […] is associated with a very funky restaurant next door, and most guests return to go there for dinner as well, since the staff is so pleasant, and the atmosphere so nice and laid back. Wifi is unfortunately only available in the lobby, but the lobby itself has such nice ambience that its fun to hang out down there for a while and do one's e-mailing. The TV screens could be bigger, but who goes to Vienna to watch TV...? Great place would highly recommend it. Les mer

I stayed at the Tourotel for three nights. The reception desk person on my arrival could have been friendlier, but anyway. I was slightly concerned I had picked a dud hotel as I was walking to my room, but upon reading the hotel information and discovering it has been a hotel since 1865 or thereabouts, I can forgive the old factor and it was charming […] in that light. My room was just what I needed, nothing fancy, but clean with a bed, good sized bathroom, and a TV. Good location. I would definitely stay here again. Les mer

Hotel was nice for a march visit. They don't have an a/c unit so if you go during hot season, be warned. Since we went just at the beginning of spring, having the windows open was good enough - no a/c needed. One problem I had was when you went to sleep, you can hear the electricity from the wiring within your room. You need to take the key card out […] and sleep with no electricity which can be a pain because you can't charge your camera/iPad and such. If you leave the card in for electricity, forget it, the annoying sound will drive you up the wall. The beds although was comfortable and the rooms are spacious for Europe and USA standards. The location is awesome. The train station is about 4 blocks and the. Its a 5 minute ride by subway to the center! All in all I would stay again but only in winter,fall and spring. Les mer

A 10 minute walk from vienna's central railway station; the drop-off point for airport buses, Tourotel Mariahilf is an excellent mid-price choice for a vienna stay. The rooms are spacious but basic and the hotel is a very smart and grand old building. Staff are very polite and friendly. It is within easy walking distance of main transport hubs for getting […] around the city and there are plenty of decent bars and restaurants nearby. Overall i would recommend this hotel. Les mer

Doubleroom was not so big,but enough only for two persons without children.Bathroom was large.No ventilation in the room, only by windows.Windows of my room left to the hotel garden with fontain.For five days i didnot hear any sound.Really silent place.Location was good for me only 5 minutes from westbahnhof.No refregerator and i-net in the room.

My husband and I stayed at Tourotel and both of us were very excited about the services and location of this hotel. Room where we stayed was very spacious, bright and clean. The staff was very attentive and promptly to our requests. Sincere pleasure to recommend this hotel.

For me, the hotel was okay, but I had little to no interaction with any staff. In fairness I did not eat breakfast in the hotel. I would suggest they review their competition. There is a pub two-doors down that served a bang-up breakfast for less money and free high-speed internet. The hotel charges per the hour for internet. Not worth it! I witnessed […] a British couple who had spent two nights in the hotel. They came back because their passports were stolen at the airport and they did not have much with them. The receptionist at night was not willing to assist them (although I think he was scared to get in trouble). In the morning, the female manager was outrageously rude to them. Not necessary. I am a manager in a hotel myself and if my team acted that way I would be one less. When I checked out just after them, she even gave me an attitude They seemed to be nice and kind but the minute something goes wrong - check out. Les mer

Centrally located to visit different parts of the city with only a couple stops on the tram or on the metro. Large, clean and comfortable rooms that are not overly furnished. Staff was very helpful with accommodations, parking and providing directions. Parking was very nice and reasonably priced.

We stayed at the Tourotel for 3 nights to visit the Vienna Xmas Markets and doing some sight seeing. The hotel is perfectly placed as it's so close to Vienna West train station for easily getting around. The only thing we'd have to say was odd, was the fact you don't get a kettle and tea and coffee making facilities automatically in your room. Instead […] you had to pay a 10euro deposit for the kettle! I m pretty certain no one would steal a kettle and had never seen that before in a hotel! I also had a really snooty receptionist tell me they couldn't lend us any cups as 'they'd run out' who looked at me with utter disgust. The hotel didn't warrant that attitude at all… and it was clearly a lie. The rooms are also due a refurbishment. Nevertheless apart from that cretin the other receptionists were helpful and it's pretty good value for money. We also didn't see any of the prostitutes outside that other reviews have mentioned. This hotel is very simple. It`s convinient as a place to sleep and no more. For me that was the right choice. So I liked the hotel because of few reasons: 1. My stay here was a pleasant one, and the staff were excellent. The room was also clean and comfortable. However, the little extras that make your stay a very pleasant one left a lot to be desired. For example, the internet service and the hotel's computer was so old and slow that i ended up blocking an important online account. In addition, there was […] no complimentray tea or even a kettle in my room to make for a warm drink after a long day walking in the the cold. Also one should be wary of the surrounding restaurants in the neighbourhood as they tend to overcharge without you realising it. This hotel is fine for the remarkably cheap price I got through hotels.com. However, for someone who needs regular internet access, this place is a joke. Not only is there no internet service available in the rooms, but they charge 2.50 EUR for one half hour (!!) of internet service, only in the lobby. When I expressed my surprise at this outrageous […] fee, and the lack of internet service in the rooms as advertised on hotels.com and here, they reacted with much surprise. Me and my boyfriend recently visited Vienna for a long weekend. We had 3 nights in Tourotel Mariahilf and were really pleased with our choice of hotel. Our room was very clean and spacious and we had very decent sleep because it was nice and quiet too. It was certainly great value for money; nothing grand but everything you need for a comfortable, pleasant […] stay. We didn't have the 8 euro buffet breakfast as there was an amazing bakery/cafe opposite which we ate in every morning. The location was brilliant - really close to the station which makes it really quick to get to the centre of Vienna and it didn't take long getting to Shronbunn Palace from here either. I would definitely recommend this hotel and if I go back to Vienna would consider staying here again unless we found another hotel just as good but cheaper. Les mer

yards from westbanhof station where i arrived. on a main street to all main historical buildings and a main shopping street regular trams to take you it,s length if dont want to walk! it was clean and well laid out in a good location for me i would certainly recomend.

The hotel was near the westbanhof train station: 3 to 5 stops from the main tourist stops down town or the technical museum in the other direction. No problems whatsoever walking around the neighbourhood later into the evening. The hotel is an older one and has no restaurant in it. Yet the rooms were clean and larger than many places I've been in europe, […] the beds comfortable and the showers hot. The staff was friendly and helped with anything we asked, including directions and recommendations for anything. All that a traveller could want and at a reasonable price, in my opinion. Parking was available -- so we just parked the car and left it for the 4 days we stayed at the hotel. There are a number of restaurants nearby of various types and price ranges. We fell in love with a great greek restaurant that was about 0.5 km from the hotel and just down a side street. We found a number of them close by and if you get the daily transit pass, it makes it very easy to roam over the area and widen your reach. Les mer

For getting around the city, this hotel does the trick. The neighborhood is so so but the hotel is well kept. The bar next door (Mariahilferbrau) has excellent food and service. We had a great time at this hotel. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. Our only complaint is that the hotel seriously needs to change the mattresses in the bedrooms - ours were very soft, sagged in the middle and quite comfortable.

I stayed at Tourotel for 3 consecutive nights in Aug '11. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there.The reason why I chose this hotel was the decent rate and the close proximity to the train station. The location is very convenient to the train station which connects to other major cities, 10-15 walk to the shopping district, lots of cheap and good restaurants […] and coffee shops nearby , and mini grocery stores. It is 4 stops away from the main city. I would definitely stay here again when I come back to visit Vienna. The room is clean, spacious, and quiet. The bathroom is pretty decent with a nice shower head. The bed, which is two twin beds pushed together is comfortable. I just wished they had an extra pillow for when you want to elevate your legs after an all day walk in the city. The only downside with this hotel is the Wi-Fi. You have to go down to the lobby, where the signal is, and ask for the password which is good for 30mins use/ day. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Les mer

Overall a very good place to stay. For the tariff, it was value for money in terms of service and comfort. It is located on a main shopping avenue and is accessible by the underground (Westbahnhof station) as well as trams.

I recieved a room quite far from the reception on the 3rd floor, there was no elevator to the 3rd floor, so I had to carry my heavy luggage on my own. It was tough. But overall it was good.

I will start out by being nice: the hotel was clean, spacious and well-maintained. It is the only hotel I've ever been to in Europe that had a full-sized bathtub in the cavernous bathroom. Now for the not-so-nice... This didn't seem to be a four star hotel at all (maybe that bathtub pushes it over?). This hotel is located several blocks from the […] train/metro station and isn't as convenient as it may appear on a street map. During the day, it's an OK neighborhood with shops and restaurants. Once the sun goes down, there are streetwalkers and pimps on nearly every corner between the train station and the hotel. The area did not leave me feeling safe. The hotel's internet usage policy is very confusing. Free WIFI is available in the lobby as advertised. Usage is limited to 30 minutes a day (fair enough). However, usage requires a separate password per person per day. So, if you travel in a large group and each person in the group wants to use the internet, each person would have stand in line at the front desk and get a print out with separate passwords/user names. Supposedly minutes roll over during the day - but it was my experience that they did not. It was just too much of a hassle to quickly check email or the weather forecast. I completely understand having a network password and even a time limit - but not for EVERY PERSON. It's a bit extreme. Les mer

I stayed a the tourotel hotel for 5 nights and found it to be in a great location. The room was very comfortable especially as it is an inexpensive hotel.The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definately recommend this hotel.

I would definitely stay here again. I love the old-style building and the room had a lot of space. The hotel staff were very helpful and made the stay much more pleasant! It is not far with public transportation to all the sites. We asked for a room awah from the street noise and we were extrremely happy with the room we were given. It was facing the inner courtyard and we could sleep with our windows open with full privacy. The room was decorated lovley, spacious and extremely comfortable. We are group of three people. I was surprised the room size was large enough for three and the third person got full size bed. Good location and good value.

Having read the reviews with mixed opinions, I was a little concerned about the true state of things in Tourotel Vienna. I was positively surprised with the conditions in my standard single room: the room was almost 20 sq.m., with two beds in it, the bathroom was clean and very large as well. The room was very clean, and service was ok. The furniture […] was ok but past its prime, while the TV set was small and not modern (although in an empty room next door I saw a TV set with an LCD screen). However, I don't watch TV in hotels at all, and that did not bother me at all. As other reviewers already noted, the only bizarre thing for me was cheap Chinese bulbs. But if you take into account all the positive things about this hotel - and first of all, a very cheap price and a great location (3-5 minutes from a Westbahnhof station) - bulbs did not bother me too much... My colleagues who rented a room in another 4-star hotel were envious - they paid almost 3 times more and our rooms were almost the same! They said that next time they will definitely stay at my hotel - decision with which I fully agree. Les mer

The hotel's location is its selling point - that, and the good value for money it offers. Of course, for that kind of money, there are no trimmings, but the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.

For an old building the room was one of the largest we saw in our travels of Central and Eastern Europe. The staff were very helpful and interested in one having a great experience. Great staff.

A well located mid-range hotel - only about a 5-10 minute walk to Westbahnhof for main line connections and the underground and tram systems. Hotel itself is a bit bland but nothing really wrong with it. Can't comment on breakfast as it was not part of my package and I ate elsewhere.
