Temple Gate Hotel - Ennis

This was a very comfortable, reasonably priced hotel that has one right down in the centre of Ennis, with lots of local sights and places to eat and drink. There's a grocery/department store just around the corner that's open late, and during the day lots of little Irish specialty shops. The hotel chefs have won prizes and their food is amazing; the […] service in the pub is a bit iffy - sometimes it was great and sometimes it was pretty much non-existent. I was over the moon with the hotel and the service we got, Siobhanon reception was so helpful, my boyfriend and I didnt make many plans but needed to find our way around and she gave us great hints and tips, local tips and almost planned our whole trip. Stayed here over New Year. Very friendly at check-in, room really nice, warm, clean. Food very good, nice atmosphere in the bar, service excellent at the bar. Great location for accessing all of the town as the hotel is right in the centre.

Hotel was clean and convenient. We upgraded our room though I didn't see any significant difference in room for the extra money.

This hotel was absolutely amazing and very accommodating to my families specific needs. It is in a very central location, with great facilities. The bar serves an extensive menu with something for everyone. The hotel was very clean and had a selection of room types. The carpark is easily accessible and you can come and go as often as you please. Staff […] are very friendly and offered great local knowledge, let us in on the places to go and see that were not in the brochures. We would return here with no hesitation, and most definitely would recommend to all others. great location and friendly staff. the security system is good. u can go shopping and visit various places as the hotel is located in the town and near to the bus/railway station. easy access to everywhere.

The Temple Gate was in a great location with great staff. The picture in the photos when booking for the room were very differnent from the actual. The room we were given was old, and had a mouldy smell. Maybe some rooms are renovated but this was was not and is in desperate need. The actual grounds and hotel itself is very nice. But for what we paid […] per night I was not happy - this also did not include Breaky - Stay down the road at the Rowan Tree Hostel in a private room - half the price - same quality! Les mer

Overall a fantastic hotel at a great price as long as you don't buy the breakfast included. Self-service breakfast buffet is just cold cereal and juice. Get the great rate on the hotel but eat elsewhere.

The Temple Gate is well located, easy to find, and very clean. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. We enjoyed dinner in Legends, the restaurant in the hotel, and spent a little time in their pub, Preachers. Everything was nicer than we expected.

The good: Room was spacious by European standards. If you get a king suite it's downright palatial sized. The hotel pub is quite good with good quality food. The front desk staff is very accomodating and very helpful. The location in Ennis is perfect. Right in the middle of town with ample parking. Great access to pubs, shops, and sights of Ennis. The […] bad: The beds are quite stiff. If you want a soft bed, this ain't the place for you. Maid service was good except for one night when they failed to replace all the towels. Water service for the shower inexplicably went dead for about 15 minutes one morning. The ugly: The WiFi network is terrible. Signal strength stunk and I continually had to reconnect. It got so bad that I stopped checking my emails. Overall I'd say it was good, but uneven. I also stayed at the nearby Old Ground hotel for one night and would rate it slightly higher. The pub there is even better and the WiFi network more reliable. It was a little pricier most nights. However, some nights it was cheaper. It's worth comparing the two on a night-to-night basis. They're both so close, it's no big deal to go from one to the other. Les mer

Our room overlooked the square. At night it was extremely noisy. We found the reception staff very friendly, but the staff in the Preachers bar very unfriendly and unwelcoming.

The Temple Gate Hotel was a lovely building and our stay was pleasant. It is situated in a quiet convenient spot just across from the museum and tourist information. We were only in Ennis one night but were quite happy

Our stay in the Temple Gate Hotel was a very pleasant one. The hotel is very centrally located in Ennis, our room was modern and very clean so I would definitely return there again. The evening meal was a little disappointing but overall it was a very positive experience.

This hotel is pretty old. The service was a bit cold. I would pass on the food in the restaurant and go to a grocery deli instead.

We had a group booking for 12 people for two nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful and were always happy to help out, checking out costs to hire buses, recommending places to go etc. They even managed to sell on a room that we had booked and didn't need on the Friday night. The location was perfect, right in the town centre but in a quiet […] courtyard so not noisy. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and the common areaas were very nice. This hotel is very conveniently located, right in the middle of town. There is a good restaurant and pub in the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The doors lock on the early side and I was a night owl on this trip so every night I had to pound on the door, other than that I would highly recommend this hotel.

As tourists, the Temple Gate was a bit of a disappointment. Everything is very clean and modern, and it's a taste of Ireland that we didn't expect, but it was quite similar to the hotels in any city anywhere. The city of Ennis is similarly quite modern. We stayed in 2 different rooms. One was an executive suite which had been renovated recently and […] was quite nice. The other was on the first floor and smelled of old smoke and was unremarkable. The Temple gate is a nice hotel,the only thing i would like to see is an upgrade in bedding,(new sheets and duvets please!) I cant fault what they have its just dated, the hotel itself is first rate and the service is class, you wont be disapointed with a stay here

I had a two night stay in this hotel. I have to say the hotel was very good. Price was reasonable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was ok. My room was very clean and it is a nice hotel. The bar is very nice too. I would definately recommend.

The receptionist was consistently sour but the hotel was comforatable and location ideal

Its combenient place. You can get good service depends stuff. mostly stuffs are good exept one.
