Vista Inn and Suites Tampa - Tampa

Bugs in the room,non smoking rooms smell like smoke,,no towels,pool area dirty,ruined our vacation.

Lets start with the fact that this motel has roaches. If that alone does not gross you out, I will let you know that the rooms may say they are non-smoking but we were moved from a smoking room which I booked and paid in advance for a non-smoking and got a smoking room anyway. When I was moved to a non smoking room it smelled the same and of course […] there were two ashtrays in the NON SMOKING room, do the math. The sheets were old and work, no blankets and the only thing to cover yourself with were cigarette smelling polyester flowered bedspreads. The pictures on Hotels.com are misleading as the pillows and bed coverings were none like that. The pillows were so thin and smelled musty and like smoker's breath. I almost had to sleep on a chair it was that bad. Unless you are desperate and have no other place to stay, please do not stay here. This could not be more ghetto!! Even for the bargain price per night a night you can do better at a Motel 6. If you have ANY standards -- don't stay here. (stay 3/27/12 through 4/3/12) Les mer

Heard people arguing whole night

First off the door wouldn't open until I pulled up on the handle. I got a nonsmoking room, though the room smelled stale. The beds weren't the greatest to sleep in as my fiance' noted her back hurt in the morning (she never complained of a backache before). The bathroom, though clean, was well used looking and after taking a shower there was a nice […] puddle of water as the shower curtain was not big enough to cover from one end of the tub to the other. And, there was no waste basket to be found. The Front Desk staff were friendly and courteous, but the some of the maintanence staff seemed a bit under dressed in old shirts, walking shorts and barefooted. All in all, it was relatively quiet considering it was St Patricks Day weekend. If you're on a tight budget it's an okay place to make a weekend stay. It's convenient to the interstate and there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Les mer

I got real sick the first night we arrived and the office staff was very sweet and let us exstend our hours. They were very concerned and helpful. Victor & Paul thenk you so very much for your kindness :) You guys are great!

The clerk was very nice but the room was very dirty. We did not stay because of the other people staying were not family people. There were condom wrapers out side our door. The bed sheets were full of black hair and there were roaches crawling on the floor.

The hotel was clean and the front desk was very nice. The only problem I had was that housekeeping never showed up when I left the first morning. When I arrived that night the room was just as I left it. No new towels or anything. The beds were as I left them.

There were ants and waterbugs in my room. the refrigerator door scraped the floor when opened. Chincy on the soap and shampoo. I would not give a 1-star rating to this mess.

Overall it was a solid 3.5. The room had a cheap motel smell. Other than that it was descent.

I've stayed in fancier hotels, but the Vista Inn & Suites Tampa was certainly good enough for me. The room was large, the air conditioner was powerful, and the pool was fantastic - 8 feet deep on the deep end. The shower pressure was a little weak, but that was such a minor thing. I wouldn't […] recommend this hotel to people who are used to the finer things in life or are hard to please, but if you're traveling alone and just need a bed to sleep in, won't be in the hotel much while you're on vacation, or just don't need a lot of frills, this is the hotel for you. What we paid online for this room and what receipt we received from the hotel counter did not match. The Wireless for internet was not working. There was no ice in any bins, had to go to store to purchase ice. The top safety latch on the door was busted. There was a huge pool party with loud music going all night long.

The hotel is old, needs a make over. The location was convenient to restaurants and stores. The worst part of our visit is some lady came back from wherever very late and was arguing outside our room and was throwing around the "N" word. I know this was a guest and no reflection on the hotel itself, but that was a little too much for my family.

The rooms and cleanliness is much improved from when it was a Comfort Inn but the Refrig. is gone n that was an important part of the stay when u cant afford 2 eat out everynight. the Grill in the court yard was great and so was the pool area. ****The Shower Curtians are still the same and the r only cloth so the entire floor off the bathroom gets wet […] and it is extreamly slippery which makes you need to put a towel down but they only give you a couple towels and if you happen to be a large couple than you use 2 towels due to them being very small to dry and then you have 2 washclothes and 1 hand towel so tell me how to make that work. ***There needs to be plastic Shower Curtians and bigger shampoos in the bathrooms.
