"Close to University"
The room was reasonable although sound is easily transmitted from the hallway into the room. Continental Breakfast was pretty good. You can find cheaper rooms 10 minutes down the road in Bangor but the hotel is close to the University of Maine.

I have stayed at the Black Bear Inn multiple times and I have not been dissapointed once. There is hassle free check in/ check out, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the continental breakfast is a great start to the day. This hotel was recomended to me and I would in turn recomend it to as well. We always stay there when visiting UMaine.

Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Front desk staff very welcoming and friendly. I would stay here again.

This was a great hotel for the price. The staff were extremely friendly and always seemed genuinely happy to assist you. In the evenings there was a complimentary glass of wine and a selection of cheeses........ as well as fresh baked cookies. The hotel's restaurant was also great. I had no complaints!

"Black Bear Orono Maine Clean and Comfortable"
We only stayed one night for a tour of University of Maine Orono in the morning. The hotel was very convenient off the highway. Close to gas stations and food. The Black Bear was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. The room was nice with 2 Queen beds and the bear theme in the room was cute. "The Black Bear Inn - Orono"
Overall OK hotel for shopping weekend. Clerks were very nice, cookies at check-in counter. Rooms are older but fairly clean, however strange smell in hall during all of stay. Beds were not that comfortable but had good pillows. There is a fitness room however it is in basement and only has a treadmill and some basic weight machines.

The hotel is conveniently located to downtown and UMaine Orono. The drain in the tub was slow. Not sure when the area behind the sink was cleaned last. All in all we will definitely stay at this hotel again.

What a beautiful hotel. The bear-themed decor is fun, but not over-done, the staff is friendly and polite, and the location, near the U of Maine, is convenient. The foliage was so beautiful - we had a very nice stay.

"Clean and quiet"
We went to Orono to visit our son at the University. The hotel was located close enough to the school and to our son's apartment in Old Town, convenient to both. Even though the my room fronted on the freeway, it was very quiet, and the windows shielded by trees. My only complaint is that there wasn't a small refrigerator in the room -- it was a very […] hot day and I would have liked to keep some drinks cold. Great hotel stay...........check in was fast and the people working there were great. The room was clean and comfortable. I would stay here again. The NO smoking policy is great, love it

The staff was friendly, rooms were nice. I loved the black bear quilts and the UMaine black bear on the bed was a cute touch. The complimentary soap, shampoo, etc., were from Bath and Body Works...nice! The breakfast area was nice and the food was your typical cereal, bagels, coffee, juice, muffins, etc. Beds were a little on the too-firm side for me, […] but other than that our stay was great! Hotel is conviently located if you are travelling through on I95 or visiting the University of Maine at Orono. It is close enough for access to Bangor - particularly the Bangor Mall and North end restaurants. Service was good and the room was clean and comfortable.

we stayed here while we were checking out colleges.room was nice. maine bear on the bed was a nice touch.we bought 2 of them proceeds go to cancer care. breakfast wasn't that great but we were not there to eat.overall i would stay here again if in the area.

We stayed only one night to attend a college visit. Room was very clean and comfortable, Good deal for the price. My only complaint was that our room was along the highway and a bit noisy when trying to go to sleep.

"Worst Beds Ever"
The beds here are so hard, it was almost impossible to sleep. We had to lay down pillows on top of the matttress to sleep. The first night, my wife actually hurt her knee rolling over in bed because the mattress was so hard. It's a nice hotel, and the staff are nice, but if you want to sleep, don't stay here. Sorry

"Loved the decor"
Very comfortable and clean, curteous and helpful staff. I loved the "Black Bear" themed decor - the quilts on the bed and the stuffed toy black bears helped it to feel like "not just another hotel chain." There was a distinctive Maine feel to the hotel. I will certain stay there again.
