Veldig stilig hotell, tøff arkitektonisk og pene rom. Små minus på rommet er en dusj som lekker slik at man må tørke en vannpytt etterpå, samt en lite kald minibar. Altså bare bagateller. Bra rengjøring. Grei service på hotellet, men intet mer enn hva vi ba om. Noen ganger er jo det helt ålreit. Frokosten er dyr og asketisk. Varmretter må man betale tillegg for. Men den er likevel å foretrekke fremfor de elendige restaurantene og frokostmenyene på la rambla (hold dere unna all mat på la rambla). Beliggenheten er upåklagelig. Kort oppsummert et hotell som absolutt er fire stjerner verdig. Stilige rom. Anbefales.

Jeg og min mann overnattet på Alexandra hotell i forbindelse med 4 dagers miniferie til Barcelona. Hotellet hadde ypperlig plassering i forhold til både serverdigheter, shopping og restauranter. Kan anbefale restaurant Cervecería Catalana som ligger 1 minutt fra hotellet (Mallorca 236), her har de nydelig tapas! Ellers var personalet strålende, både i resepsjonen og i baren. De kan mye om byen og snakker godt engelsk. Rommet er moderne inredet og vi fikk en liten balkong der vi kunne nyte morgen solen. Dusjen er herlig, med stor "overhead" dusjhode. Eneste minus må være at sengen var litt hard. Barcelona er en fantastisk by og et opphold på Hotel Alexandra kan absolutt anbefales som et godt utgangspunkt.

Kjempefin tur med 3 venninner. Sightseeingbuss, shopping, fortauskafeer, gode måltider og avslapning på hotellets tak og basseng. Fortauskafeene utenfor hotellet er også veldig ok med hyggelig betjening.

Det å bo på hotell skal være avslappende og en deilig avkobling fra hjemmlige forhold. Akkurat det får på dette hotellet. En svært gennomført stil preger hotellet. Alt er rent pent og stilfullt. Betjeningen er vennlig med gode språkferdigheter. Frokost er ikke inkuldert, men er en buffet av god standard. Rommene er passe store, med et noe overasskende […] stort bad. Beliggenheten er noe dårlig da man bør belage seg på metro eller drosje inn til sentrum. Plusset er et digert kjøpesenter like ved hotellet. Kan trygt anbefale dette hotellet dersom beliggenheten ikke er helt avgjørende. Les mer

AC Som var et helt utrolig hotell. Personellet var behjelpsomme uansett hva det gjalt og uansett tid på døgnet. Det var rent og ordentlig, veldig god mat uansett tid på døgnet og servicen var helt fantastisk. Fikk aldri surret oss til å prøve trimrommet, men fikk inntrykk av at de som brukte det var veldig fornøyd. 200 meter å gå til et kjempestort […] kjøpesenter var selvfølgelig et pluss. Minuset med dette hotellet er at det ligger såpass langt unna sentrum.(over 1 time å gå) (ca 12 euro til La Rambla med drosje)(ca 2 euro med direkte buss, som gjerne var overfylt.) Avstanden ble et mindre problem pga lett tilgang til kollektivtransport, men hvis du skal til stranda må du bytte buss på Placa España. Alt i alt et fabelaktig hotell og avstandene lar seg håndteres. bodde her i 4 netter, må si jeg var strålendes fornøyd, gratis drikke i minibaren, god størrelse på rom og bad. ligger rolig til i ett fint nabostrøk, med alt av transportmuligheter 20 meter fra hotellet. noe som dog trekker ned er faktisk putene,i nakken er stiv som en tømmerstokk etter første natten, så den frabedte jeg meg, personallet på hotellet […] er strålende imøtekommende, snakker flytendes engelsk, rengjøringen er utmerket å roomservicen var det ingenting å si på. kommer tilbake hit. Vi opplevde dårlig og mindre rengjøring av romet og håndklær ,og har dessverre sett små vesener som var ekkelt å se i ett hotelrom. Anbefaler ikke hotelet til de andre.

Til prisen vi betalte var AC Som et veldig fint hotell, med flotte fasiliteter og fine rom. Rengjøringen på rommet hver dag var upåklagelig, og det var også gratis minibar med noen få brusflasker, som ble fylt på hver dag. Hotellet ligger i et rolig strøk litt utenfor sentrum, så vi hadde ingen problemer med støy verken fra utsiden eller fra de andre […] gjestene. Når man kommer til Barcelona kan det være vanskelig å finne hotellet hvis man skal lete på egenhånd, slik vi gjorde. Hvis man imidlertid kan veien, tar det ikke mer enn 15 minutter med offentlig transport fra hotellet og inn til sentrum. Det raskeste (ved bruk av metro) er å reise til Placa Espanya, og derfra bytte til linjen som reiser til Ildefons Cerda. Når man kommer dit er hotellet like i nærheten! I tillegg ligger det et stort kjøpesenter like ved hotellet, hvor man kan få tak i det man måtte trenge av matvarer og andre ting. Vi kjøpte bare frokost på matbutikken der, og vet dermed ingenting om hvordan hotellfrokosten er. Det eneste negative er at man må være tilbake på hotellet før midnatt (da undergrunnen slutter å kjøre), med mindre man har lyst på en taxiregning, eller en lang gåtur. Alt i alt et veldig flott hotell, som kan anbefales til alle som tenker på å reise til Barcelona! Les mer

Nice clean room. Free soft drinks in the mini bar, and also free wireless internet in the lobby. The staff was helpful and understanding. The parking in the basement was really narrow, but we managed to get in there :-)
"A Weekend in Barcelona"
The hotel was about 20 minutes from the city center by train, which meant the surrounding area was relatively quiet. One benefit was that all trains lines stopped at city center, so there was no confusion reading maps. The room was in good shape, with only a little wear in the bathroom. Everything was good and operational; any wear was purely cosmetic. […] Room service was better than average and not too pricey. The room had a television with many channels, but almost all of them were in Spanish or Catalan (just three English-speaking channels), so trying to relax with some TV was futile for a non-Spanish speaker. Wifi is available for free in the lobby, but if you want to have access in your room (if you room is above the 2nd or 3rd floor), you will need to pay 12 euros for the day. My room faced away from the wind, and it was consequently a bit too warm for my comfort. The window didn't open wide enough to let in much air, but in the summer, I would imagine that there is air conditioning to make it more comfortable. All said, the hotel was a very good deal in a quiet part of the city, 30 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from city center. Trains run late enough that getting back after a night out isn't an issue, and there is a large shopping center just down the street if you need anything. The rooms were well equipped and the hotel staff were friendly and spoke English well. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to enjoy a few days in Spain. Les mer

The hotel is not in the middle of all the action, but that was a good thing because the area was extremely quiet. We were scheduled to stay for 3 nights. As it happened, my husband got sick throughout our stay and needed the quiet. The hotel staff (housekeeping, front desk and even the bar tender who doubled as kitchen help) were extremely accommodating […] through this difficult time. We received healthcare recommendations, hot toddies and homemade chicken soup (outside the menu). We were scheduled to go to Malaga from there and learned that the airline we were to take had really strict luggage weight restrictions and thus had to leave a bag behind. The hotel agreed to hold it for us until our return--2 weeks later (at no charge)!! Of course we cancelled our reservations at the other hotel, near Las Ramblas (where we were scheduled to stay for another 4 nights upon our return) and chose to return to this hotel. We found that travel to all the main sites was not bad, given the good directions from the front desk, and using buses and trains, which were readily accessible from this location. In fact, travel was very inexpensive and we were able to get to the airport, only half an hour away, for the regular cost of a bus ride. So of course, we gave staff members handsome tips for their excellent service and still came out ahead with all our savings!!!! The staff at the two exclusive resorts we stayed at in Malaga should have taken lessons from this staff. Les mer

We choose this hotel because of the reviews from other americans going on cruises. They had a good experience. We did too. The rooms are small, but very modern. The staff are very helpful. It is in a quiet neighborhood close to the underground train. The staff at the hotel clued us on how to ride the train and we were able to get anywhere in Barcelona […] and back to our hotel for a minimal cost and no hassles. Not close to the sights, but easy access to train and bus. A tad hot for sleeping during the night, since they have air in the summer and heat in winter and we were in between seasons!!

Despite its location a little bit out of the city, the quality and service of this hotel more than made up for it. Immaculate room and common areas. Very helpful staff as well. The neighborhood, while it appeared safe enough, was mainly commercial buildings and apartment buildings. (not much to look at) There is a large mall a block away if you should […] need food or shopping. Two trains will get you to the city center in about 15 minutes. The hotel was very convenient and the staff very helpful.We walked to plaza Espagna from the hotel and it was pleasant. There was a nearby restaurant that was open long hours that we enjoyed. The room was clean and adequate. The mattress could have been a bit firmer for my liking. The breakfast was great and we were happy to learn that the 12 Euro breakfast […] was included. Les mer

Great clean modern hotel in a residential and business neighborhood outside the main city of Barcelona. The hotel is a business hotel, so it did not have any dressers in the room. The staff was very friendly and spoke English. When I said we were on our honeymoon, we got an upgrade to a king size bed. Positives: clean; nice staff; close to train; quiet […] area with no tourists. Negatives: continental breakfast not included and costs $12 Euros; only two little drawers in the closet; AC was not the greatest (it took a long time for the room to cool); free WiFi was only in the lobby. Very confortable, near of airport, train station, metro station!
"AC hotel - excellent"
Excellent choice. The hotel is clean and modern, has even the adaptor for the plugs. Free minibar. Internet is high speed. We could not have had a better choice. It is not lockated in City Center but the access is very easy. We had a car but we didn't need to pay the hotel parking because around the hotel was free parking.

It was a very short experience. We had a late check in and an early check out. Hotel is at an okay location... a little far from where I am used to saty in Barcelona. It is a nice hotel, clean, and well staffed hotel. If you are organized, on where to be and what to do... it can be a nice option for Barcelona.

We were in Europe for 2 weeks and Barcelona was our last destination. We decided to stay at AC Som after reading a lot of reviews. We got to the hotel at 10am and was hoping that they would allow us to check in early. The receptionist was very friendly, helpful and well English spoken. We got our room after just 5 minute wait. We had nothing to complain […] about the room service. My husband was very satisfied with free drinks they gave us in the mini fridge (they also refilled it the next day). I saw many complaints about the hotel location, but the metro was just 10 mins walk away. We booked the room soon enough to get the rate that we think was a great deal. I highly recommend this hotel to those who want a comfortable place to stay and have a nice rest after spending a whole day exploring Barcelona. Les mer
"Nice hotel, Close to FGC and shopping."
The hotel is excellent, clean modern and well priced. A little out of town but there's a commuter train (FGC) that will take you into the city. The station is less than 2 mins from the hotel and metro tickets are valid on it. Would recommend, it is also opposite a massive shopping center which is very useful

the only negative things to say is soft pillows - too soft - had a sore neck each morning as though it hadnt been supported. breakfast wasn't included so 12.50 extra if wanted. service, cleanliness and standards all great

Excellent hotel, the free mini bar with cold drinks were a pleasure after warm, long days of sight seeing. The public transport in Barcelona is so excellent that it took us 10 minutes to get into the city centre whilst we experienced life in the suburbs. Our Air Conditioner would not cool at all and while we went to dinner they cooled another room and they moved us immediately to a room nearby making it easier. Very Responsive to us.

Just back from a long weekend. Stayed at the AC Som hotel, which is a small, well maintained hotel, with extremely friendly, helpful staff. While the hotel is a little out from the centre, access is directly by metro or bus and found it a pleasant respite from the very busy city. Absolutely no problem is recommending this hotel.

The hotel looks very good, rooms are big & comfortable, staff is amazing and the breakfest is incredible. The hotel has services well above the standarts, such as free minibar in every room, huge couple beds and even a small gym and sauna! Neighborhood is very nice with an amazing shopping center nearby. On one hand, location is really good since the […] neighbourhood is quiet and the metro is really close. On the other hand- some people would definitely prefer to live in a more central place since in any way- getting to La Ramble takes ~20 minutes. It depends on the guests and their purposes. Les mer

The price was so reasonable that we just hoped for the best .After staying in avery uncomfortable hotel in Paris at more than 3 times the price we were in heaven. We stayed at the AC Som for just over a week in October 2010 and very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very modern and stylish, and our room was very comfortable and clean. One great feature of the room was the free minibar which was restocked for us every day with soft drinks and bottles of water. We found all the staff very helpful and friendly. The […] hotel itself is located just outside of the city centre and we found it a bit too far to walk in everyday. However, you can get an FGC train from just across the road which will take you to Espanya Station (two stops - takes about 4 mins) where you can then get on the metro. The FGC station nearest to the hotel is Ildefons Cerda, and on exit from this station you can see the hotel, so it really is pretty close! You don't need to buy a separate ticket for this FGC journey either, one ticket allows you to transfer once between the FGC and Metro lines. A good way to travel around the city is with the T-10 ticket which gives you 10 single journeys for around 8 euros, one of these tended to last us about 2 or 3 days (two people can use the same ticket). The hotel is also right next to a shopping centre called Gran Via 2, which has restaurants and cafes. Good for cheap breakfasts if you don't have breakfast included at the hotel (like us!) Les mer

This hotel was very nice and very accomodating. The front staff all spoke English very well and I might add....the men were pleasing to the eye. ;) I would definitely stay there again, however the location is in a sketchy area even though the hotel is very modernized. The rates were very fair.

We stayed here 4 days after our cruise. The hotel was quite nice, rooms were pretty spacious. It is near a mall which is good, the metro is less than a couple of blocks away so good transportation. Alex at the front desk was extremely helpful and he was always pleasant. Breakfast buffet too high, so it was easier to eat at a cafe at the mall for breakfast. […] I would stay here again. Over all experience was great! :) A little far from the bus and train stations, but with a tourist metro pass you can get anywhere fairly easy.
