I picked this hotel for my daughters. They like pools and this had an indoor pool. I thought it was heated and ambient temperature was "close" to room temperature. It was cold at all. They insisted to enter the pool. At the end of the day, they all got cold. Without the pool, I wouldn't pay this room rate. Second, the parking was not free of charge. […] I knew it, but when I arrived, I was tired and didn't remember. I wish I had been reminded when I did check-in. Who wants to pay $20 a night when there are plenty of parking spots around the hotel. Les mer

stayed 3 nights. visited zoo and Legoland. traveled with 6 yr old and 1 yr old. Stayed in 1 bed room with King. Sofabed was very uncomfortable and we had to fix the spring multiple times. King bed in the bedroom was comfortable and nice. TV was out of date. breakfast was good but crowded if you go around 8:30 - 9am. Only complain is their sofabed. It was a great experience. The breakfast is really good. The pool and Jacuzzi are nice. However, the Gym doesn´t like us too much because the elliptic was too noisy and there wasn´t any treadmill. The bed is very comfortable and is very convenient that the room has refrigerator, stove and microwave. I should say by the way, they should change the TV […] sets, still having the oldest models. The buffet breakfast cannot be beat...especially if traveling with children. The rooms T.V.s are out-of-date, and the throw pillows were somewhat dirty, but I would definitely stay again

I stayed here for two nights. I was looking for something simple and close to friends. This place was excellent and the staff was super friendly. They even have a complimentary snack and beverage stand with name brand supplies at the front counter. I didn't check out the restaurant, but it looked clean and inviting. I stayed in a single room, not one […] with the kitchen. But I was impressed that my room had a DVD player and a decent size bathroom. Everything was clean in the room and plenty of towels. I also liked this place because they have a few clothes washers and dryers on the premises. You have to pay to use them, but it's essentially the same as a laundrymat. I also had free wifi which I appreciated because I hate to be "nickeled and dimed". All in all, it was an excellent stay. I would definately stay there again, however only if I could get a similar rate. I don't think I would pay the full retail price for the rooms. For my next stay, I would like to try a room with a kitchenette. Les mer

Love that this hotel is a nice hotel and doesn't price you to death. Free parking, free WI-FI and a GREAT breakfast buffet that comes with the room for each guest. Having one or the other is typical, but all three at one hotel is VERY refreshing.

Rooms need maintenance!!! Showers & carpets are too old! Breakfast was great though. Food at the restaurant is not good. Reception was friendly. Wouldn't recommend, very disappointed

The hotel is situated in the buisness area some 14 miles from downtown San Diego and therefore is better situated for buisness travellers. The staff went out of their way to cater for our every need in a friendly efficient manner with nothing being to much trouble. The complimentary breakfast was also good offering a wide range of food, there was also […] a small outdoor dining area next to the small swimming pool which made a pleasant setting for meals. The downside of the hotel was the dirty rooms not due to the housekeeping staff but general wear and tear and in need of total refurbishment, The pull out sofa bed which thankfully we did not have to use smelt of dirt and urine so much so that we had to change rooms, however the second room was only a slight improvement, we also found with the exception of the bed sheets the other soft furnishings to be dirty with a stale smell throughout the room Les mer

Pros: We received a room with no patio or balcony, so I called the front desk and they gave us a room with a patio right away. The staff was friendly staff and allowed us to check-in early. The two bedroom suite was big and spacious. The bed was comfortable and I was able to sleep without hearing any noise. Cons: Part of the hotel had a weird smell […] in the hallway - glad we got to change our room. Also, both TV's in the suite were not flat screen. In addition, the hotel is located in an area that does not have a lot of places to eat. Overall, it was a great hotel and I would go back there. Les mer

Hotel was nice and our stay was fine, but the hotel made a mistake and double charged for the room. Took three days to get the problem straightened out. In this day and age, with computers tied in to everything, and Hyatt being a higher end hotel, this sould not have happened. I will think twice before booking at this Hyatt hotel again.

I booked this hotel because it was close to where I needed, I got a great rate and it was a Hyatt. The hotel was nice and easy to get to. The room was clean. The front desk staff was very nice and friendly. The bed was very uncomfortable and there was no ice machine on the 4th floor. I wandered the halls at 9:30 pm looking for it - finally called the […] front desk to find that it was located on the 2nd floor. Not that big of a deal, but there should be signs on the 4th floor directing me to the machine on the 2nd floor - or the front desk staff should let me know this upon check in. Everything OK, except first lady at the desk who was unwilling to give us a room before check-in hour, even if some rooms were ready. The second lady we talked too, a few minutes after, gave us a room.

These are the things I liked about this hotel: Complimentary Breakfast (Servers are great), Very well manicured outside and in (pleasing to the eye), Nice sitting area by reception area, Rooms are neat and clean, Quiet location. These are the things I did not like about this hotel: Some of the staff is cold and unfriendly, There is a minor bad odor […] throughout, The pool is very basic and cold (they claim it is a heated pool), The exercise room has 2 machines only (no treadmill), Far from La Jolla Cove and other sites, The only ice machine is on the second floor (we stayed on the 3rd floor), TV is old school, Rooms are very small and Over-priced. Located in a business / industrial neighborhood, it is very convenient to go from this Hyatt House to many points of interest in San Diego. We picked it for long weekend stays. From the hotel, we can get on I-805 quickly, and then go to La Jolla and / or many other places. I found the weekend rates very reasonable. The hotel is nicely maintained. Rooms […] are comfortable. The hotel breakfast is pretty good. Unlike other touristy neighborhoods, Sorrento Valley is quiet, which we find attractive. OK, when we want a more lively setting, we head over to the Karl Strauss Brewing Company restaurant and bar 2 big blocks west. I would not mind staying here for fun and for work. Les mer

the front desk is quite nice. When i call and ask for the hair dryer, they delivered quickly. housekeeping did nicely and overall i feel great living in this hotel.

It is an excellent starting point to visit the beaches north of san diego (e.g. 15 min. to La Jolla Cove or Shores).

The only complaint we had was they said the remote for the TV in the bedroom needed batteries and they would be up soon to replace them. When we came back to our room, the batteries had not been replaced. We put our own batteries in and the remote still did not work. We then tried to operate the TV by hand and the TV did not work. The staff was very nice, but there were certain deficiencies. The equipment in the fitness center did not work properly. The spa (jacuzzi) was dirty and the water temperature was way too low. The drinking fountain on the 2nd floor did not work.

I agree with the other unpleasant reviews. Food was overpriced and taste horrible. Room had an awful odor. Sheets were not changed prior to check in. Had to request for clean linens & pillowcases and had to change the sheets myself, which I shouldn't have to do. Requested for extra pillows and the items provided were dirty. Bathroom counter was falling […] apart and could fall any minute. Molds and mildew in the shower area. Toilet was not cleaned properly and thoroughly. Towels did not smell fresh and as if no laundry detergent and fabric softener were used when they are washed. No decent restaurants within walking distance. Quite frankly, were it not for the pleasant and friendly staff, I do not know how a place like this stays in business. Les mer

Stayed in a King Suite studio. Great if you have children staying with you. The pullout sofa can also accommodate full size bed and you have a master bed with King bed to yourself. It is comfortable, and liked the stay for the three days we were there. Room is clean and comfortable with ample space. We were greatly impressed with the size of our room and the plentiful and hot morning breakfast buffet. The complimentary parking and the nice pool and spa area were also nice features of our stay. This is a very nice hotel for a very reasonable rate. The only drawback we experienced was the smell of the hallways. Hotel was great for business travel, not so good for family vacation travel. 30 minute drive to anywhere, not any restaurants, had to go far or a grocery store. Hotel itself was awesome.

I booked this hotel with the belief (via the description) that is room was a suite with a kitchen area etc. When we arrived we walked into a standard albeit SMALL standard hotel room. I asked the front desk and they said that was a hotels.com problem and that others have had the same issue.
